“When their powers combine…” This is one of the most brilliant marketing strategies I have ever heard. The Twilight people have asked the Jonas Brothers to write a song for the next movie in the series, New Moon. The soundtrack for the first film did very well on the charts, and adding a Jonas Brothers song to the next one could prove to be a money maker.
“The movie was obviously a huge success, and if they asked us to be a part of [the sequel], that would be great,” Nick Jonas said when we caught up with him and his brothers Monday, revealing that the trio are fans of Stephenie Meyer’s vampire franchise and would be willing to write a song for the “New Moon” soundtrack. “It would be really cool.”
“That would be really cool,” agreed Joe and Kevin.
In November, the “Twilight” soundtrack opened in the top slot of the Billboard albums chart and continued its strong sales throughout the film’s box-office run. Staying true to Meyer’s close relationship with music — and director Catherine Hardwicke’s love for mixing her images with disparate tunes — the soundtrack featured such diverse bands as Paramore, Perry Farrell, Linkin Park and Collective Soul.
Next month, Chris Weitz begins filming the sequel and will at some point start making his choices for a “New Moon” album. Whether the Grammy-nominated Jonas Brothers would write a “Twilight”-themed track remains unclear, but this much is certain: Before they can do much more “New Moon” campaigning, the chart-topping trio still need to actually sit down and watch “Twilight.”
“I haven’t seen it,” Joe admitted. “But I have heard it’s a great movie.”
“We’re looking forward to seeing it,” Nick added. “We’ve been a little busy, so it’s kinda hard to get the movies, but we’ll see it.”

Although they haven’t actually seen the movie, The Jonas Brothers realized how popular the film was when they decided to get a bite to eat on the night of the premiere.
Edward and his Cullen family are so popular, in fact, that “Twilight” recently proved its power as a franchise by distracting screaming teens long enough for the JoBros to grab a pizza.
“I think this is really funny,” Kevin remembered of the first time the trio realized how huge “Twilight” was. “We were in town [the day of the ‘Twilight’ premiere], because we were working all day on our TV show.
“We weren’t able to make it to the premiere. We were invited, but we couldn’t make it,” Kevin continued. “That night, we were starving coming home from work. And we wanted to get pizza.”
While thousands of Twilighters screamed their heads off, unaware, the rock sensations snuck into a restaurant across the street and had a rare, peaceful meal. “The pizza place that we ordered from just happened to be across the street from the premiere,” Kevin laughed. “And so, we come up driving, and didn’t realize that it was the ‘Twilight’ premiere. It was one of those comical moments that was really funny for us.”

The Twilight saga and The Jonas Brothers have a lot of the same fan base, as evidenced by the pizza story, so I’m not surprised that this joint venture was accepted by the boy band. And this move will only increase their popularity among the Twilight crowd – it won’t be surprising if the song, as well as the soundtrack, hits top ten.
Can you imagine what the premiere for the new movie will be like? Robert Pattinson and the Jonas Brothers in a photo together – a preeteen girl’s dream. I would not want to be doing crowd control that night.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOO.
Is it just me, or are the tweens taking over? I’d never heard of Miley Cyrus or the Jonas Brothers or Twilight until recently. Have they been popular for a long time?
If they have…I feel old.
Oh no!!! This is a very bad idea.Love Twilight ,hate Jonas Brothers music .It’s so sad that this franchise is all about the money 🙁
Btw and sorry about the new post my daughter is 13 and she dislikes all this tween stars!
I thought the Twilight movie sorta ruined the book, but for me its always like that. I doubt i’ll see New Moon and If i do i’ll be for a glimpse of Robert Pattinson anyway 😛 The Jonas brothers on the other hand do nothing for me…. meh, i feel old
I’m already feeling that if this film is even semi-decent it will be some kind of a miracle. It’s purely about making cash. They could at least *try* to give something back to the fans of the books.
By the third film I expect all the actors to be mumbling their lines and looking bored out of their minds.
I don’t think it’s a good match at all. The Jonas Brothers are too cutesy. But I’m sure it will do well enough.
I HATE JONAS BROTHER……..mmmm…
well…not that so much, i just don’t like then, but if they show their…””” faces in the next movie, then i will really HATE them, this is not THE HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL…XD…if twilight not the big deal movie…don’t make it worse
jonas brothers have such bad music but twilight is awsome jonas brothers will just ruin the movie
Please no.
Let Rob Pattinson sing songs for the next soundtrack!
God, that sounds like an aneurysm waiting to happen.
“I haven’t seen it,” Joe admitted. “But I have heard it’s a great movie.”
lying twit. NOBODY heard that twilight was a good movie- it WASN’T. even the fangirls will tell you that.
i say if they’re going to bastardize the mediocre (and this is coming from a fan of this story/series) novels anyway, they might as well go for the big bucks. this would draw in up to a whole decades’ worth of younger kids that will become twilight fans by jonai association… my sister being one of them, haha.
I think it’s going to be an event of such super-awesome super-specialness that it will cause the sun to go supernova. By that I mean, if I end up anywhere near this unholy union, I will plunge knitting needles into my eyes and ears.
I ROFL’d at Rottenkitty <3
And the Angel did open the fourth seal…..
Way to wreck a movie. The Jo Bros and all the Disney kids need to find another movie to ruin. The Twilight soundtrack ROCKED with great bands as Paramore, Muse, Black Ghosts, etc. Sorry people, Jo Bros do not rock and are NOT a great band. Bubblegum music for 5-12 year olds is their specialty. The Twilight series it too grown up for them. Stephenie Meyer say it’s not so!!!!!!!!
OK, I like some Jonas Brothers songs, but only for like dancing around the house to in private.
I totally agree with ‘getalife,’ the soundtrack rocked, now imagine listening to the New Moon soundtrack, Paramore. Cool. Muse. Cool. Black Ghosts. Cool. Some old Kings of Leon stuff. Cool. Jonas Brothers. NO! It just wouldn’t work.
I also agree with LondonParis, there will be so many little children who will want to see New Moon, just because of the Jonas Brothers. AND THAT WOULD BE SO WRONG! It’s bad enough with all these screaming girls who haven’t even read the books screaming for Robert Pattinson. It’s just like, “NO, what the hell are you doing, go home!”
Grr stupid little Tweeners.
Can you provide more information on this? I want to have all of the facts before i tweet this. Jonas Brothers are freaking awesome btw, lol.
