Madonna is in Malawi, do you think she’ll come home empty-handed? (update)

Madonna received a hero’s welcome to the southeastern African nation of Malawi, where she returned after a controversial adoption of an infant boy there last October. While her spokesperson has denied that Madonna is going to adopt again, and says she’s just there to tend to her charity/Kabbalah recruitment center Raising Malawi, Madonna told a French Magazine last November that she would “absolutely” adopt again, and said “I’m going to adopt another Malawian child very quickly. A baby girl this time, in order to redress the balance”.

Rumor had it last year she was interested in a little girl called Jessica, but an Australian family was going through the lengthy process of adopting the girl and was worried that they might lose her to Madonna. Malawian law dictates that adoptive parents reside in the country for 18 months before going home with a child, which of course was a requirement that was waived for her madgesty.

While Madonna did donate a great sum of money to start her Raising Malawi charity, officials at the orphanage where she found Davie say that she didn’t give any money to them as of early November and that her comments about the poor conditions there were untrue and may have screwed them out of much-needed donations by people who thought they were running a shoddy operation.

Now Madonna is said to want to adopt a three-year old girl named Grace that she saw a video of:

It has been reported that Madonna is looking for a sister to David and her natural children Lourdes, 10, and sixyearold Rocco, and that she plans to adopt a three-year-old girl, believed to be called Grace, after watching footage of her playing at an orphanage.

But the singer’s publicist, Liz Rosenberg, said Madonna was “absolutely not adopting another baby”.

She said Madonna was in Africa to continue her work with the Raising Malawi charity, which aims to provide accommodation, food, education and other support to orphans.

Last year the star offered to donate £1.5 million to the country via the organisation.

Her spokesperson calls the adoption rumor “absolutely” not true but we’ll see. I doubt she’d take a trip all the way out there just to make sure the kids are wearing their red strings.

Update: Madonna did give “thousands of pounds” to the Home of Hope orphanage where Davie was adopted, which is of course now offering Madonna’s unique brand of cult pseudo-Jewish spiritualism to its orphans. Davie’s father Yohane Banda says he has received no word from Madonna since his son was taken six months ago and hopes that he gets a chance to see him during the pop singer’s visit.

Her Madge should stay home and raise her kids. If she adopts another kid for publicity, I vote her worst mother of the century.

Some how I don’t mind Madge adopting, at least she did not change dave’s name and got him from a truly horrible situation. He is also a cutie and I think she fell for his cute ass.

As for his stupid father who thinks he has any rights after not even visiting him in the orphage, I think he just wants a Visa to the UK.

I don’t know about beauty, but from what I’ve read, David has a personality like hers.
What bothers me about Madonna adopting, is that she is trying to walk over the laws in Malawi, change them, and make her own. She said as much.
Angelina is right on this one. Why doesn’t she go somewhere where she can adopt?
It’s not the US or the UK.

Does anyone find it odd that Madonna just signed on for the Green Concert and she flies to Malawi in a PRIVATE PLANE….
