Star: Angelina Jolie is pregnant with a ‘miracle baby,’ conceived through IVF

jolie star

It usually bugs me when people start with the “eat a sammich” BS for Angelina Jolie, mostly because it’s already been said a million times before and it’s gets sort of stupid after a few years. It’s just like a knee-jerk reaction for some people, to criticize her for her weight. What’s surprising to me is that after her double mastectomy and after she completed filming on Unbroken, Angelina actually looks like she’s put on some weight. She just looks a bit more filled out to me, like she’s been enjoying some meat and potatoes. So, now that she’s looking a bit healthier, I guess we have to start with the pregnancy rumors?

Angelina Jolie, 38, has always wanted a big family, and now she and Brad Pitt, 50, will live that dream as they welcome their seventh child. Before the mother of six underwent preventive surgery in 2013, she allegedly had her eggs frozen so that she and her future husband, Brad, could welcome another biological child at a later time. Now, the May 26 issue of Star magazine reports that Angelina went through an IVF treatment earlier this year, and is finally pregnant with her and Brad’s seventh child!

“[…] now she’s pregnant! Angie is so happy about it, she’s already call this her ‘miracle baby,’” a source told the mag.

Even though Brad and Angelina were undergoing an IVF treatment to have another baby, they kept it a secret from their kids. The six kids — Maddox, 12, Pax, 10, Zahara, 8, Shiloh, 7, and twins Vivienne and Knox, 5 — would probably LOVE to add another to their gang.

“They didn’t even tell their kids about it, because they knew how high the chance of disappointment was,” the insider explained.

[From Star via Hollywood Life]

Apparently, she’s two months along, according to Star Mag. I’m not saying it’s impossible – I’ve actually been wondering if Angelina has put off having her ovaries taken out (which she’s said she will do at some point because of her chances of getting ovarian cancer) because she sort of wants one last kid. But if she does want one last kid… who says she won’t adopt? So, yeah… this is probably BS.

Here are some new Maleficent featurettes – the “Queen of Moors” one is weird, right? Are we supposed to be scared of those adorably grotesque frog-monsters?

I don’t believe this at all. If she is pregnant, IMO, they’d do it the old fashioned way. Not through IVF.

    • MollyB says:

They may have chosen IVF to weed out the BRCA1/2 gene. If the story is true.

    • Katherine says:

If she’s waiting to have her ovaries removed it’s for health reasons to recover from her first bout of surgeries – not to have another baby. She’s not foolish and she knows she needs to get those ovaries out sooner than later. I think they’re perfectly happy with their family as is. If they find a craving to add to their family they will be just as happy to adopt. People are acting as if they have to have another biological child but from what we know about them that’s not how they think. Remember THEY don’t distinguish between biological and adopted – it’s disturbing that some of their fans apparently do.

“If she’s waiting to have her ovaries removed it’s for health reasons to recover from her first bout of surgeries”

I’m sure you’re right. Even though the operation to remove the ovaries has been described to me by someone who’s had it as a simple laproscopic sugery, I didn’t consider the ramifications of the hormonal changes.

  2. Eve says:

“Apparently, she’s two months along, according to Star Mag.”

According to Star Mag…so, basically bullshit, right? I don’t buy it.

    • LadyMTL says:

ITA. I mean, how many times have they knocked her up in the last year or two? I’ve lost count, lol.

      • Sabrine says:

What nonsense. I suppose this will follow the same path as Jennifer Aniston and her numerous “pregnancies.” We’ll have to hear about Angelina’s until she’s in her 50’s. Ovaries gone? Not a problem…..BTW according to one of the tabs, Jennifer Aniston is pregnant right now as she has been for the last 25 years.

      • Cecilia says:

I know. It all gets very tiresome.

    • blue marie says:

Maybe I don’t remember right but isn’t she still trying to decide whether or not she wants to get a hysterectomy? When she got the double mastectomy wasn’t this part of the discussion as well?

      • Eve says:

I’m not sure, but I think she has already mentioned a future hysterectomy as part of the process (not as a choice, but something that she’ll have to do).

      • Ellen says:

I think she has to have her ovaries removed but can keep her uterus. So no hysterectomy.

She may be waiting because removing your ovaries triggers menopause and that’s a lot to go through, physically and emotionally and psychologically, so soon after the first surgery.

      • mercy says:

Maybe she wants more kids and that’s why she hasn’t had them removed yet? My cousin is 39 and just had her ovaries removed now that she has her kids. She has no family history of cancer, but she started her period at a younger than average age and it had already started to become irregular at 38. Apparently early menses and hormonal fluctuations from an irregular period can increase the risk for breast cancer so she thought it was for the best.

      • lucy2 says:

I’d imagine she wanted a break between 2 pretty big surgeries.

And agree that it’s Star, and pretty much everything they say about everyone is garbage.

      • Mayamae says:

@Mercy, your cousin had her ovaries removed because she was worried about breast cancer? I’m assuming you meant ovarian cancer. I’m surprised she found a surgeon who would do this – especially with no family history.

      • mercy says:

Apparently there is a correlation between hormonal imbalances where too much estrogen is present and some breast cancers. I was not aware of this, either, nor the connection between starting your period at a young age (if that’s true, it’s pretty scary because I’ve read that girls are starting younger and younger in recent years.) The only other person I know who had her ovaries removed that young had a family history of ovarian cancer. My cousin did not have a family history, but her period had been irregular for over a year and was causing her physical and emotional distress. She tried to regulate it with birth control pills, but didn’t tolerate them well so her doctor agreed to do it. She said she felt so much better afterwards. I don’t know why, because menopause sounds like a b*tch from the people I know who’ve gone, or are going, through it, and it seems like hormone replacement (if that’s what she used) might carry similar risks to those associated with estrogen. I’ll have to ask her more questions.

    • blue marie says:

      Ahh okay, thank you

    • JennySerenity says:

Yep. This is pure Star BS. I guess I’ll have to eat my words if Brangelina issues a statement through their publicist, but I really, seriously think this is garbage. Love Ang, but highly doubt the veracity here.

      • If she is, then she’ll keep it on lock down, and then she’ll announce it when she’s ready. I know that there were a ton of pregnancy rumors, both times, and she managed to keep it out of the press until she was well past her first trimester—so who knows? I don’t think she’d try for another pregnancy, but???? If she feels healthy enough to do so. I think it’d be cool, but I like seeing pregnant women.

      • JennySerenity says:

VC- This feels like truth. Exactly the way Brange plays the game.

  3. CharlotteS says:

She’ll always have very thin legs and arms, it’s just her body type. But she’s been looking well lately. Her skin is perfect.

  4. Belle Epoch says:

Hope it’s true and hope it goes well! Early announcements scare me. Truly happy for her.

  5. lower-case deb says:

after seeing the Moors clip, i finally realize why it’s PG. all the creatures even the Ent-like centinel looks nonthreatening. the creepiest is the monster mosquito thing, but even then it’s weird eh.

even Maleficent’s pig minions in the original looked scarier!

i find my interest in this movie waning by day, but my children are still interested especially now that the trailers are getting aired more frequently on Disney channel. i might go if only to accompany them.

    • harpreet says:

I seem a bit bored with her portrayal from what I’ve seen in promos.

    • Chinoiserie says:

Despite the darker colors the movie seems to have rather childish tone. But maybe I am biased because I love Sleeping Beauty and it is somewhat dark.

      • To me, it seems like it alternates, from when she’s good, and then when she’s bad. Like she’s dressed in very ‘earthy’ colores–that brown/beige/goldish robe or gown (whatever it is)–she’s very natural, and seems like she belongs with the trees. And it also matches with her wings–which are feathered.

But when she becomes the ‘bad’ fairy, then she goes into the severe, dark colors–and the forest reflects it. I think it looks cool.

I was never into Sleeping Beauty–except Maleficent. I always thought the story was boring up until Maleficent became the dragon, because Aurora never did anything but look pretty and bat her eyelashes.

Why do you think it has a childish tone? I don’t get what you mean. It’s a fairytale, for one–for kids. That’s the main audience. And this story is a lot deeper than the bad fairy is mad that she wasn’t invited to a christening….now it’s an excuse to exact revenge on the man who stole her wings, and trampled on her heart.

    • I don’t think they’re her minions yet–that’s why they don’t look scary (if they ever do end up looking scary)….I get the idea that this is right when she becomes ‘Maleficent: The Bad Fairy’….she doesn’t have her wings yet. So while they were friends and equals before, now they aren’t.

And why are you surprised it’s PG? I don’t get it. It’s a Disney movie.

      • lower-case deb says:

only because i seem to remember that both John Carter and Oz were PG13, which allows for some more action scenes.
but then.. i went to check IMDB and apparently they’re also PG.
        so my bad 🙂

in my mind’s eye, PG is like really really tame. but my friend reminded me there’s also a G rating which is like Postman Pat.

i’m just being really muddled these days. perhaps i’m just remembering about the first time i watched Sleeping Beauty, and equating the feeling of my younger self and my current self, which i shouldn’t.

upon reflection, i guess this is why nostalgia is sometimes a dangerous thing 🙂
i have to go and watch Sleeping Beauty again in DVD to get a more objective look at the film now that i’m older, i suppose.

  6. Abbott says:

If she kept a double mastectomy under wraps, I doubt Star has the scoop on a pregnancy. Her sh-t is locked down right. Please.

  7. AG-UK says:

Sometimes the old fashion way doesn’t work. Also, after her surgery not sure if she really wants to do all the drugs it takes to do IVF, if I had 6 already don’t think I’d put myself thru all of that.

    • Kcarp says:

Right! People act like hey let’s freeze some eggs, defrost, and make a baby.

I had IVF, before u freeze eggs u have to make them. They put tons of meds in you it make you super ovulate. They can’t just go in get a dozen and make a baby.

Also the ivf meds are high in estrogen. Some breast cancers are estrogen based.

  8. reddy says:

Sorry, but all I could think when I hit 17 seconds was “ooooh they cast Nobby from Harry Potter” 😀

  9. Frida_K says:

It would be neat if she were…she’s certainly a beautiful pregnant lady and she really does seem to love being a mother. But if she’s not, she’s not. It’s their business, not ours.

I hope she is, though, just because they have such a lovely family and it would be neat to see a new baby Jolie-Pitt in the mix.

    🙂

  10. MrsBPitt says:

My sis-n-law was trying for a baby the natural way, and finally resorted to hormones to increase her chances…then her Mom got breast cancer and she stopped, because the docs told her it could increase her chances of getting cancer. I highly doubt, that Angie, is going to take hormones to stimulate more eggs to help her get pregnant, when it could up her chances of getting cancer, when she went to all that trouble of have a double mastectomy, to avoid getting cancer. Now, if she got pregnant the old fashioned way, that, I might believe!

    • mercy says:

You read my mind. My first thought was all the hormones involved with in vitro and their link to breast and ovarian cancer. But she’s had the mastectomy, and I’m guessing she will get her ovaries removed eventually … would she still be at risk?

  11. Allie says:

She looks like she’s been eating meat and potatoes? Not really.

  12. AnnE says:

Pregnancy rumors, wedding rumors, kids being pap’d etc always re-surface around the same time she has something to promote! Her camp stirs it up, don’t hate the player hate the game.

    • Kim1 says:

Really? This is the tenth tabloid in the last year with a wedding or pregnancy cover. What movie was she promoting for those other tabloid covers? According to Star Magazine alone AJ has been pregnant 29 times. They have used the headline Pregnant Baby #7 nine times.Same
      BS story from Star Same

    • Sal says:

      That’s rubbish!

    • Samantha25 says:

Comments like these are so stupid. There are always rumors surrounding Brad and Angelina regardless if they have a movie out or not. There are actually more when they are out of sight. Also Angelina is doing promotion. Since everybody knows where and when she’s going to be seen of course more photos are going to be taken. Besides, haven’t the kids been photographed once since the promo began? Hardly an indication that Angelina always calls the paps.

  13. Sayrah says:

I say BS too. They wouldn’t even tell their kids because of the chance of disappointment but they tell a source when she’s 2 months among? Most people wait until the second trimester to make the announcement.

  14. Maria says:

    Sigh, let the woman be.

If she’s pregnant, congrats, if not that’s cool too. She has plenty of kids and seems to have a very fulfilling life.

  15. Penny says:

Having your ovaries removed has very serious health ramifications, it plays havoc with your hormones, which in turn affects so many other things…it’s wise to put it off for as long as possible so long as you are able to be regularly screened. Angelina will have the option to be screened a lot more often than the average woman, so unless she has an scare I’d expect her to put it off for at least a few more years.

All that’s just to say that her not rushing to remove her ovaries doesn’t necessarily mean she’s keeping her options open regarding future biological children. Given she breastfed before it’s unlikely she chose a preventative masectomy before ending her baby making days.

    • mercy says:

As I mentioned upthread, my cousin had hers removed at 39 (due to trouble with her period, not family history of cancer) and said she’s never felt better. I didn’t question it at the time, but now I’m really curious how she managed.

    • Amulla says:

Removing ovaries does not completely eliminate the chance of getting ovarian cancer.

I am not sure why she wants all these things removed. She could very well get cancer somewhere else in her body. Lung and colon cancer at two very common cancers in women.

      • Marianne says:

She had the gene that could develop into breast cancer or ovarian cancer. If she doesn’t have family history of lung cancer or colon cancer, then her risk is probably a lot lower. Of course, that doesn’t mean she would never get it. But her risk of breast or ovarian might have been higher.

      • Her mother died of Ovarian cancer at 56, her grandmother died of breast cancer in her early forties–same with her great grandmother. Her two uncles, on her mother’s side also had breast cancer–that they died of. She had three generations of family members who were all dead before sixty from either breast or ovarian cancer. I remember right after the news of her mastectomy came out–her mother’s old boyfriend did an interview where he talked about how Marcheline was a total health nut when she got diagnosed with ovarian cancer. Said she was eating completely clean and vegan, and would drink straight lemon juice to ‘cleanse’ herself–she did it every morning, and he said that Angelina knew why she was doing it.

  16. Rice says:

I’m a sucker for fiction and I’m an even bigger sucker for special effects and imagery. Plus, Angie looks very convincing as Maleficent. I’ll definitely be watching this movie.

  17. lower-case deb says:

i just looked at the cover properly, and chris martin was stolen!!
did Alexa Chung point a gun at him? put him in a hemp sack and throw him out of the window into the back of an open truck?

the poor Boko Haram girls were stolen from their communities and families; a cheating husband is not stolen by anyone.

i just hate it when the narrative is always Wan A stole Mr B from Woman B. bring out the catfight and absolve the man. yuck.

    • RosettaStoned says:

I know, we need to call the authorities to report this monstrous crime! Poor Chris Martin is kidnapped and afraid somewhere, crying out some new lyrics from the closet or car trunk as we sit idly by

  18. Andrea1 says:

    Sigh!
Don’t star magazine feel stupid on always getting it wrong. I just wonder for these magazines, do people actually buy them?

  19. KatNotNice says:

Don’t you usually announce a pregnancy after at the 12 weeks mark? I call BS on this story.

  20. Cecilia says:

I don’t think she would bring another another child into this world with such a high risk of passing down the BRCA gene. I know if I were facing that risk & I wanted another child — I would adopt.

    • Especially since they’ve adopted THREE times before….so it’s not like it would be some huge psychological barrier to get through (like wondering if you’ll be able to bond with the baby not being ‘yours’ biologically)…these stories are all dumb. I honestly don’t get where they come from. Or who buys them.

  21. sarah says:

When we are wondering if she has or has not removed her ovaries, I think we’ve gone too far…

    • Mayamae says:

I don’t think so. Angelina chose to be open about the process to educate the public. She herself said she was planning to remove her ovaries. Considering she was able to have a mastectomy in secret, it’s only natural to speculate. The comments here are not exceptionally prurient.

      • mercy says:

Me neither. After watching two people close to me battle breast cancer (with no family history of it) and another with family history of ovarian cancer opt to remove her ovaries, I’m really interested in the subject. I’m thankful to Angelina for being so open about her journey and bringing more attention to it.

  22. Lizzy1013 says:

The only baby AJ is having is a food baby!!

  23. K says:

I’m sorry, but the “they always wanted a large family, and now that dream is finally coming true!” just cracked me up. Do these people confuse them with the Duggans?

On what planet is having 6 kids (especially that close together, and no blending of kids from prior marriages or anything so each parent only has say 3 each) a “small” family?

  24. lenje says:

I just realize that in the picture above Brad’s jacket needs some good ironing!

  25. Camille (The Original) says:

    BS story.

As for Maleficent, I can’t wait to see it :).

  26. pato says:

and … where is the weight gain? In the last pics with ther kids she looks very very thin. not buying it.

  27. TOPgirl says:

If she is, congrats to her. She deserves to have more children. She adopted three and gave them a GREAT life and now she wants some more of her own. Heck, she can afford it!
