Poor Jesse. He hasn’t done anything since “Desperate Housewives” and (the really horrible) John Tucker Must Die, so right now he’s sandwiched somewhere in between Corey Feldman and the valet guy at Dolce’s on the Hollywood totem pole of celebrity power.

In England, however, he hasn’t had such a hard time. He’s been dating Nadine Coyle, a singer from the popular Brit pop band Girls Aloud. A lot of coverage has been given to their relationship there while it has gone mostly ignored in the US. They even went on UK’s OK! Magazine declaring their love for each other on a cover spread, with Jesse going as far as saying: “I have to admit, I don’t see myself as an eternal bachelor. I draw so much pleasure out of taking care of someone and sharing my life with them. It’s a human need and I definitely want kids. I just want two — one of each.”

Sounds all hunky-dory, right? Not really. The same week this article came out, Jesse declared he was going into rehab for alcohol addiction. Nadine was in shock–apparently he hadn’t told her about how bad his problem was– but she vowed to stand by him during his treatment.

Looks like Metcalfe has left rehab, and not told Nadine what he’s been up to. He’s been pictured cuddling another girl and holding her hand out walking in LA while she films a movie in the UK. I spy with my little eye someone who is going lose what is left of the little media attention he does get:

The Desperate Housewives’ gardener has been spotted in LA holding hands with another girl.

And I know it’s not his sister he’s hugging ’cos he’s an only child. But she does look remarkably like his ex, TAYLOR ANNE MOUNTZ.

GIRLS ALOUD star Nadine will be distraught at the sight of Jesse with another woman.

A close friend said last night: “Cheating is something Nadine will definitely not stand for.

“She has been working really hard with the other girls in England while he’s swanning about in LA.

“If she thinks he has been cheating on her with another girl there will be all hell to pay.

Nadine indeed has given Jesse the heave ho after seeing the photos, and has already gone to the The Daily Mirror with the following statement:

“I’m not the kind of girl to put up with nonsense like that. I’ll meet the right person when the time is right. I’m disappointed but what can you do”.

Metcalfe is a user and he deserves all the bad press he can get now. Personally, I think Metcalfe went into rehab to kick start his career again (a plan that failed because no one seemed to care regardless). Everyone goes to rehab to get in the papers these days. Did anyone read the announcement his PR gave before he went into treatment? He should have handed out Metcalfe’s resume while he was at it.

It could also be possible he was stringing along Nadine to receive the coveted media coverage that so many celebrity couples get these days. This plan also backfired because he’s not that big a celebrity, and Nadine isn’t really big outside of the UK. So any goodwill he had in Britain will shrivel up with any job offers of roles in London’s West End.

Anyway, good for you for not putting up with his crap, Nadine. Go ask Tom Cruise if you can borrow some heels, call up Kate Middleton, and hit the town to show those idiots they are missing!
