It was explosive, but it was oddly mesmerizing. I could not look away.

  2. Irishae says:

I haven’t read the books, so GOT the show has taught me that anyone with a sliver of likability and honor must perish in a miserable, public fashion. The non-cynic in me still shrieked at the TV though. Sad 🙁

On an unrelated note, I feel kind of gross and wrong for liking this Sansa Stark-Petyr Baelish thing that’s going on.

    • RedWeatherTiger says:

Sometimes, though less often, horrible characters die in a miserable, public fashion, too–and when that happens, it is SO satisfying! *cough*Joffrey*cough*

      • TG says:

Find one time on GOT where a bad person has gotten their dues without a a huge sacrifice. Yes Joffrey was murdered but Tyrion was taken prisoner immediately. The Mountain has finally been killed, presumably, but Prince Oberon died too and now Tyrion’s fate isn’t looking too good. But I just realized the wicked also pay for their perceived wins. I mean Cercei is finally getting what she wants but at the cost of her son and so on. Also the betrayal at the Rwd Wedding by the Lannisters hasn’t quite paid off the way they were hoping. I want Tywinn to die.

      • GlimmerBunny says:

        I ship Sansa/Petyr too! I know it’s creepy but I think it’s super hot 😀

      • RedWeatherTiger says:

Theon Greyjoy got his comeuppance–and then some–without any good characters having to pay for it. I now feel sorry for him…

Khaleesi’s brother got his due without anyone good having to pay for it.

    • bettyrose says:

Agreed. That final shot of Sansa descending the stairs was basically her emergence as a woman. But will she be more like her mother or Cersei?

      • Liv says:

I don’t think she will be like Cersei. At least not yet. For now she made the transition from a little sheep to someone who sees the motives of people and is able to play with them. It probably gets interesting. I just hope she doesn’t end up with Peter, he’s soooo creepy! 😉

    • decorative item says:

I know, right? Sansa is finally becoming interesting instead of the sniveling, dull, victim that everyone else has had to take care of.

      • taxi says:

She’s been a pathetic whiner until now. Lied big-time & now she’s less boring to me?

    • MarBear says:

I also feel creepy and gross for liking the Littlefinger/Sansa story line so much. Maybe because I have always had a crush on the actor that plays Petyr ( Aidan Gillen). He was super hot when he played Carver Doone in the made for tv movie Lorna Doone. If you guys have time watch it! Guy plays creepy disturbing obsessive hot so well 🙂

      • Molly says:

I like Peter and Sansa too. Please let some stark person get some happiness in their lives.

      • GoodNamesAllTaken says:

Happiness? Have you forgotten that Peter sold a prostitute to Jeoffry so he could kill her with his bow and arrow for his sick pleasure? And Peter’s reason for doing it was that she wouldn’t stop crying because the soldiers killed her baby. How will that sick f@ck bring anyone happiness?

      • xxodettexx says:

Even WORSE, GoodNamesAllTaken! Petry only slyly threatened Ros for being depressed to get her back to work (and thus, making him more money). Then, he later sadistically gave Ros over to Joffrey because she was spying on Varys’ behalf (and Sansa was almost married off to Loras, and away from Petry). That man is wicked!!

      • Liv says:

Haha, GoodNames, you’re cracking me up! I, too, still see the creepiness of Peter though – ugh! Poor Sansa. But at least there’s hope now that she won’t let him play with her.

      • Amulla says:

Carver Doone was very creepy indeed. He is perfect for those types of roles!

    • WalkenOnSunshine says:

Most of the Sansa scenes happened totally differently in the books, and I have to say, I preferred how it went down in the TV show. It confirmed the path I was hoping Sansa would take. I don’t know if you consider this spoiler-y considering it hasn’t quite happened in the books yet either, so read on if you wish, but my theory has always been that after spending all that time with Cersei, Tryion and Littlefinger, Sansa herself would learn how to be a master manipulator. What happened in last nights episode pretty much confirmed that for me. Go gurrrl!

    • delorb says:

I’m just left with thinking, ‘what’s the point?’ He came on with great flourish, made a huge speech about fighting for Tyrion, only to have him lose? Such a waste of a great character, IMO.

      • balehead2012 says:

In the books, there is a strange outcome to this fight, so it wasn’t all for nothing, but it’s a spoiler, so I recommend ‘just wait and see’ and enjoy the show 🙂

  3. Size Does Matter says:

I was really hoping they would change that part from the book.

  4. GeeMoney says:

    Two things…

    1) Game of Thrones last night was off the heezy. Poor Oberyn. And…

    2) WHY DOES GOD KEEP LETTING LEVI JOHNSTON REPRODUCE?!?!? Oh, the humanity of it all.

  5. danielle says:

Lupita has a part in Star Wars! Just announced! Off topic, but Yay!

  6. Sisi says:

Oberyn looks so weird in a suit!

  7. bettyrose says:

I want to see the Stark girls reunited!! I want to see Arye’s reaction to Stansa so badly.

    • ScrewStewrat99 says:

Me too! And it looks like Sansa has finally learned to play the game! I’m really excited to see where she ends up!

    • bettyrose says:

Ugh, I tried to fix my spelling of Sansa and it didn’t take. Oh well.

  8. Evie says:

George RR Martin is a sadist extraordinaire! All my favorite characters (and some of the best looking men) keep getting killed. Prince Oberyn’s ending was the most gory yet. And no, I couldn’t look away. I keep hoping the show runners will find a way to diverge from GoT book canon and spare some of my favorites. No such luck, though!

Further proof of GRMM’s sadistic streak: Theon Greyjoy/Reek survives but each week he loses another body part or what’s left of his (disturbed) mind…

Maybe Pedro Pascal could come back as Prince Oberyn’s long-lost brother?

    • ScrewStewrat99 says:

The Theon story line is just insane to me. I mean I hated Joffery, he was a little doosh, but that Ramsey Snow. Christ on a stick he’s a messed up little dude. I mean look at what he has done to Theon! It’s crazy. I’m almost starting to feel sorry for him, but I’m still mad at him for what he did to the Starks.

    • GlimmerBunny says:

I want Pedro Pascal to come back as Doran Martell too! Put a beard on him and some grey in his hair and it will totally work. He’s such a great actor (and so hot) that I want to keep him in the cast.

    • Lilacflowers says:

Prince Oberyn has a brother but I think they’re looking for someone else.

    • Bridget says:

That’s actually my personal theory as to why Martin is having such a hard time finishing the books: he’s killed all the good characters (both in the morality sense but also in the idea that they’re some of the best to watch) and isn’t very excited to write. He lost his spark after the Red Wedding, and while we still have the main POVs (Jon, Tyrion, Dany) it lost a lot of narrative oomph when the story became bad people doing bad things to each other.

  9. Tiffany says:

JB Mother quote. Are you kidding me. Just keep making sure those checks clear Scooter and then walk away.

    • QQ says:

She put that sh in a book too like some type of Virtuous Christian Mother’s Prayer, which is That ignorance comes from his mom why be surprised at him?

  10. LadyMTL says:

I’ve read the books multiple times and I knew this was coming but…yeah. Seeing it was way more traumatic than reading about it.

  11. QQ says:

Even tho i knew it was coming i was still screaming My head off!

Also Not Canon But that Sansa Fierce situation Gave.me.all.my.life

I was glad they didnt fiddle with that Theon scene too much cause it was brutal but needed to show how far gone he is (do you all realize this is Ramsay’s second Reek?, remember the one that went to get help when Theon was besieged in Winterfell?)

Also Not canon but amazing Missandei and Grey Worm… Now I wish I knew if The Pillar and The Stones are all gone!

P.s: I Might have to watch this Star Wars (even though all the other ones were brain numbingly slow crap) just cause Lupita and Gwendolyn are there and that’s already 3 more women these movies ever had and 3x the POC in as well!

    • NorthernGirl_20 says:

The first Reek was Ramsay himself.

    • Molly says:

lol at Sansa Fierce. She’s all feathered out and goth haired now.

      • Lilacflowers says:

I’m curious what they plan to do with her next season because they pretty much completed what exists of her story arc in the books last night.

  12. Lisa #2 says:

Justin Beiber’s comments are so weird considering his own father wanted nothing to do with him until he became a multi-millionaire.

  13. Jen34 says:

Ugh. The only part of GOT I liked last night was the scene with GreyWorm and Missandei. I would love to see them happen, but maybe it would be too sweet and one of them would have to die. Can’t anything good ever happen on that show?

  14. Jen34 says:

Here is a link to Pedro Pascal”s Instagram. I am in love.

  15. iskra says:

Most of GOT season 4 became very bad fan fiction. Everything, except last seven minutes + dismission of Jorah and maybe few more things was literary made up by producers.
Red Viper´s death was brutal but I liked the way it was made.

    • G. says:

Very true. Not even good fan fiction either. Jeesh. I get that the show is an adaption but if the changes don’t even make sense then why make them?

    • A.Key says:

Well the books themselves are bad historical fan fiction.

  16. JessSaysNo says:

I’m done with that show. Honestly, my husband stopped watching after Ned Stark died, but this is even more annoying. Everyone is awful, anyone who is even slightly likable dies disgustingly. It’s manipulative and slow. I’ve wasted too much time watching this sh-t-bag of a show.

  17. Happy21 says:

I watched the first season and loved it but I loved the books too much so I decided to leave it be for now and maybe going back and watching once it was all over with. And this post is making me want to go back and read the books from the beginning again!

  18. TG says:

@RedWeatherTiger – You are right Khaleesi’s brother did get a good one and no one else had to suffer for it. That actually was one of the best “let’s kill the jerk” scenes, it was way back in Season 1 so I had forgotten about it. Thanks for the reminder. In regards to Theon, I guess he is still being punished, but he may end up doing more harm to people I think are good so let’s see if none of the good ones are sacrificed for it. I haven’t read the books so I don’t know. I would love to see Ramsay Snow now Bolton turn on his father.

  19. Molly says:

This is why I’m liking Vikings more than Game of Thrones this season. Vikings has war and blood but not gore. This episode of GOT was unnecessary gore. They didnt show Ned Stark’s actual beheading and yet you got the picture and were affected by it. Ugh. I had to watch some Jersey Shore reruns to get that final scene out of my head and not because it was great cinematography.

So GOT producers, more dragons less gross flaying and head smashing.

    • Amulla says:

Games of Thrones is unnecessarily violent, over the top. The book is just the same. I was also particularly disturbed by all the violence perpetrated against children in the book series. It made me wonder if the author was slightly disturbed. I just don’t care for reading about children being maimed and murdered. Just not my thing.

  20. Amulla says:

Peter Dinklage is a phenomenal actor.

  21. A.Key says:

And it only gets dumber and insaner after this. GRRM really effed up the story in the last few books, I seriously don’t know why anyone still cares for him to finish it. He should just leave it be.
