Cressida Bonas went to a public event last night, so as you can imagine, the UK papers are in a tizzy. Nevermind the fact that Cressida is no longer attached to the eligible ginger prince, and nevermind the fact that everyone on his side is saying that he’s over it and happy to be single for the summer. Still, Cressida might be trying to “pull a Middleton” – Kate did this kind of thing when William broke up with her in 2007. Kate was suddenly everywhere. Her skirts were shorter, her blouses were more low-cut, and she went out all the time with Will’s group of friends.
So, Cressida stepped out in this revealing ensemble to the Art Antiques London Gala. She was there with some girlfriends, including Princess Eugenie (Eugenie was host of the event). Afterwards, Cressida stopped by Tonteria and maybe partied with Justin Timberlake. The UK papers are going crazy because Cressida’s halter top is completely backless and she flashed some modest sideboob in a couple of the photos from the gala event. SCANDAL. The pro-Kate people are like, “See? Cressida flashes her bits too. Tsk tsk.” To which I say… Cressida is never going to be Queen of England. Sorry, Kate. You still need to wear panties.
I hate this Daily Mail headline too: “Cressida Bonas switches up her style with copycat Kate blow dry and daring backless top as she joins Princess Eugenie and Sarah Duchess of York for Art Gala.” The Mail needs to stop claiming that every woman is “copying Kate.” Is Cressida twirling her sausage curls at an official event for veterans? No. Is she flashing her bum while working? No. Thus, Cressida is not copying Kate. At least not in the way The Mail thinks. Cressy may be following The Middleton Method to win her prince back. Alternate theory: Cressida doesn’t want to be a royal bride because she wants to be a “star” all on her own.

Dancers are deceptively strong. There is nothing fragile about them despite appearances.

MAF : She has the muscle tone of a dancer, not just in her back, but her limbs as well so i assume she’s still attending classes.
I think she is too thin but I begrudgingly think LAK is right. Dancers are lean and lithe but strong and healthy. I say begrudgingly because a lot of young girls will ignore the hard physical regimen of exercise and healthy eating and just starve or binge. Sad.
LAK’s dancing/muscle tone facts/argument aside she does not look unhealthy.
Her back is strong. We’re not seeing ribs and vertebra, We’re seeing defined muscle.
This is a strong, healthy back.
That outfit isn’t my style, but I don’t think it’s tacky. She’s young and slender, she can pull it off.

That dress is so ill fitting that if Cressy so much as steps on her own hem she will, indeed, pull it off.
She’s definitely taking from the Kate’s post-breakup playbook. Although, it does seem that Harry has firmly moved on from her for whatever reason.

I actually disagree. I think this sends the solid message that she does not want to be Royal. Kate was sexy but still covered; this ain’t sexy or appropriate. To me it looks as if she’s going the Koo route, not Kate’s.

I think her issue has always been whether or not she wanted to be a royal. And she’s always leaned towards a no. The press however, wanted everyone to believe otherwise.
I don´t think that she is trying to win him back. Other than Kate, she does not want that kind of life. She comes from old money, is very well connected and has a lot of access. So why would she trade her comfortable life into a life in public, wearing boring / conservative dresses and cutting ribbons?
Also, I don´t think she would take this movie role, when she still wanted to be a member of the royal family.

My thoughts exactly. I thought she/it was sexy and playful, but then….waaaay too much side boob. I don’t think she realized how much showed when she moved around and the top blouses. She seems very conscious of it in the last couple pics like she’s trying to cover herself. So glad I don’t get followed by paps. I have made clothing mistakes. How something hangs and looks when you’re standing still, erect and in perfect posture is not necessarily how something looks once it loosens and you’re moving around. But nobody followed me and took pictures.
It’s not even good side boob. It’s just meh. She’d have come off more sexy not showing it.
Do you have an example of a good side boob? I hate side boob but if someone did it right I’d like to see.

I think side boob can look very sexy if done in moderation and on certain people. I think this was actually cute…but the 2nd shot is too much sideboob. It looks fine in the 3rd picture IMO.

It looks cute and appropriate from the front but it’s just SO big and poorly fitted from the back. That doesn’t look like intentional, well executed side boob but rather tacky ‘I can’t buy clothes in the right size’ side boob.

I love her hair but the top looks super tacky from the back. A near hit. She certainly has a beautiful face.
To me, her behavior since the breakup is obviously an attempt to get Harry interested in her again. But that’s just me! Why else would she go from sparkly high-top sneakers to a more high-end look within weeks? When someone’s behavior changes, there is usually a reason for it. 😉
The top is the least of her problems here. It looks like pajama pants with heels? This look is a mess.
The side-boob is tacky but pales in comparison to not wearing underwear on a windy day in a fluttery dress.
On a side note, I hate how media in general always tries to pit women against each other.

But in my defense – I would say “tacky exhibitionist” is pretty accurate. I think Kate is tacky because her style is tacky at times – what with the huge sausage curls and her button obsession. It’s not really a slam on her character.

Lol. Well even the Clooney castoffs get about a year or two of press mentions, or at least until Clooney gets a solid new girlfriend contender. Even with his engagement, his last girlfriend is a regular in the press. Cressida will always be mentioned due to her being an aristo, being besties with The York, running in a royal crowd, and until Harry gets serious” with the next girl. Even then her name will probably keep popping up, just like Chelsy’s does.

She’s a skinny-flabby. Thin, but not toned. She would look a lot better (if she’s so determined to flash her back) with a little bit of muscle on her.

From the juxtaposition of the photos it is amazing how much Cressida B resembles Brad Pitt have similar facial features; and from the back she could be mistaken for Blake Lively.
I hate the whole “copying Kate” angel the press throws on this girl to. Like, really? And it just shows,again, partly why Prince Harry keep having his chicks walk away. Who wants to be compared to Kate ALL THE TIME? And over such silly stuff? So Kate has now invented the ‘ol wash and blow dry? Eyeroll. Even Kate would probably laugh at their description.
Cressida is okay, but when ever she cleans up in appearance, she comes across as a pre-teen playing dress up in her mother’s clothes. But she does show potential. I just don’t think she has a shapely back to pull off a top like this. Nor is her torso long enough. This outfit doesn’t do her any justice. Its a bit too sloppy. Shame, because she does have a great figure. But again, this outfit doesn’t compliment her.
I also wish the press would stop acting like she is dressing this way to get PH’s attention. I’m sure he’s already seen all parts of Cressida, just as PW had already seen all of Kate. So I never see the point of the press thinking that either girl dressing sexy is what will get these princes running back, when they’ve already seen and had what little they are showing the public.
The pants are terrible, in my opinion. They look dirty and mud splattered in the top picture and are not at all flattering. If this is her “I’ll show Harry what he’s missing” outfit she’s not missing him too much.

Hideous, unflattering outfit. This girl’s about as interesting as a Kardashian.
She looks like an attractive, young, fashionable lady. The outfit is all one piece, Cara Delevingne wore something similar to an event a few weeks ago. I’m not sure why people here don’t like it? But it’s very much in style. It’s just backless, she’s barely showing any skin. A little side boob isn’t much different than cleavage. In my opinion, it’s classier. More subtle.
I love the style… I wore it 20 years ago, very briefly before back fat made it a no-no.
Mine was fitted though like a waistcoat – and that’s the only thing wrong with this picture. I mean a little side boob is fine but unless she has double sided tape ‘somewhere’ it looks potentially dangerous, esp with paps around.

Re: the poorly fitted shirt: It gives me the impression that it’s borrowed and not hers. Most people wouldn’t leave a shop with a shirt/blouse so poorly fitted or if one did then an alteration would be on the agenda.

No, you are right. Eugenie did look nice at this event. I should have been clear. I think she has a lot of misses–clothes too tight, etc.. The dress she wore was very flattering. I think she has a nice hourglass figure and she should do more with it (e.g., wear a lot of fun clothes/styles). Perhaps she’s just a no-fuss kind of person.
Slightly off-topic: I have often wondered about the Windsor ladies style-wise (sans Princess Margaret when she was alive). I often look at Zara and Princess Anne (and QEII) and wonder if their style sense was dictated by the Queen Mother–that she set the stage for what is considered stylish. (Shudders)
I get that the BRF is a conservative outfit but given their collective ages (Anne, Zara, Beatrice and Eugenie), I would think that their “look” would be sleeker and more modern. However, Beatrice seems to have “stepped up her game.” Beatrice struggles sometimes–fashion wise, but I think she is finding her own identity.

…and NO she’s not going away, her family has been in the UK press pages for decades and now that Cressida is getting acting roles, in films made by Harvey Weinstein she’s not going anywhere this is a educated young woman who not long ago completed her University Degree and is embarking on her career. She also looks a lot happier without Harry IMO. She smiles in photos now, when she dated Harry she always looked miserable, I think she’s stunning and thin naturally.
She is a really pretty girl! And obviously couldn’t care less about becoming a royal so she is wearing whatever the hell she wants.
