As we discussed on Monday, Lauren Conrad married William “Some Dude” Tell last weekend. I was really hoping that LC would post a lot of wedding photos onto her social media, but so far… not so much. She sold her wedding pics to Us Weekly, and they gave her the cover this week. That’s her wedding dress on the cover! LC is officially LT now too – she tweeted “I am officially Lauren Tell.” But… but… her branding is all about being LC and “Lauren Conrad.” Eh, maybe she’ll still use her maiden name for her business. Anyway, since I know you’re dying to hear some highlights from the cover story, here you go:
*The ceremony is described as “a rustic-chic ceremony on the California coastline.” There were “countless Pinterest-worthy personal touches like vintage hankies and homemade apple pie.” The hankies were hung on a frame. And the aisle was “a burlap runner strewn with gilded eucalyptus leaves.”
*LC got help planning her wedding from her bridesmaid and professional wedding planner named Cassandra Herschenfeld.
*LC says: “I don’t know that I have ever been as happy as I was walking down that aisle. It was amazing!”
*The wedding had a theme and that theme was “apples.” And LC’s husband gave her a special wedding gift: “an apple locket with a snippet from the menu on their first date.” Aw.
*LC’s dress was Badgley Mischka. Meaning she didn’t trust herself to design her own dress, but she totally designed all of her NINE bridesmaids’ dresses. Mark Badgley said: “She was involved in the process the whole way. She had a really clear notion. And she stuck to her guns.” The gown has been described as “a two-tone Chantilly and Alençon lace dress with crystals, pearls and baby glass beads.” With a ten-foot train.
*At one point, her wedding gown had sleeves but LC confessed: “I felt like I couldn’t pull them off. I don’t have super long arms.” When the tailor refused to take off the sleeves, LC says: “I was like, ‘Sir, if you don’t cut them off, I’m going to use my kitchen scissors and cut them.’” The sleeves came off.
*She changed into a Monique Lhuillier dress for the reception.

Apparently, this was all very Pinterest-friendly and “homespun,” meaning it will probably make a very good Buzzfeed “31 Great Wedding Ideas” list at some point. I’m actually happy for LC and I can’t wait until our digital issue of Us Weekly comes in so I can see all the photos. I think my favorite detail is the “burlap runner strewn with gilded eucalyptus leaves.” Gurl, you walked down an aisle of BURLAP?

I think an apple theme is really cool/different. Then again, I hate tradition-anything.
If I ever got married it would definitely be some hippie-dippie affair.
I want to go somewhere just me and him and come back and throw a crazy party.
I’m the same. Minus the party. The dude and me then off on some adventure for the honeymoon. Come home, and have a little intimate party with friends and family.
That’s what my friend just did. Married her dude in Amsterdam and came home and threw a huge bash.
I did just that. Only immediate family was there. I highly recommend a small ceremony and then throwing a big party for everyone else.
Aside from the money it saves you’re only having the people who love you there.
I do love LC’s taste. Very simple. Makes me think her home would be so airy and smell nice. Like those laundry commercials where you smell the fabric softner sheets and get transporter to a cloud or a beach with a mojito.
I did just this for my first marriage. We eloped alone on vacation then when we came home the parents on both sides threw a huge party. It was way less stressful. I had a regular wedding for my second and I enjoyed it thoroughly but it was all my hubby’s idea. I tried to talk him into eloping and he wasn’t having it. In the end I’m glad we had a (small) wedding and reception. It was so fun to share our day with family and friends. So, I guess I can see value in both sorts of weddings. There’s really no need to be traditional. Just enjoy and love each other.
@OPPKitten Please tell me you will walk down an aisle of apple flavored Jell-O* shots.
*I’ll make the organic, gelatin free version so it qualifies as hippie-dippie. So basically it will just be an apple infused vodka mister.
I will walk down the aisle in a haze of blackberry kush.
Haaa, well it just so happens that I can help you out with that very thing. BBK is one of my faves, so pretty!
Mimi that drink sounds delicious!
Mimif-will you be my drunken, stoned maid-of-honor?
I’d love to smoke, I mean, see your bouquet! 😉
The legend of William Tell is that he shot the apple off of his son’s head.
apple cheese spam wooden teeth fake captcha!
Haha. G77ha9
I was wondering if the apple theme had something to do with his name being William Tell. Cute and corny.
I got married in a pub so I could just cut out the middleman. Ceremony then straight to drankin’.
Apples where the theme? That’s a first.
I live in essentially a great big apple orchard. You can’t throw a rock in the tri-state without hitting an orchard. So it’s a common theme here. Still nice though. It’s a little early for apple season still. But when you get into October and you have a wedding in the orchard with all the apple smells and the crisp autumn air, you can’t beat it.
Yep! Grew up across from an orchard and have a tree in my yard now…I love fall in Pa 🙂
Who?
But her wedding looks cute
Her dogs are cute. I’m sure it will all be very Martha Stewart vanilla blonde boring.
I love the dogs too!
Those doggies are adorable!
I think Victoria Beckham also did an apple theme when she got married.
I’m just glad the apple theme was the fruit. The likes of Kim K et al have obviously jaded me.
Ok. She’s pretty boring. Since when do you need super long arms to look good in long sleeves?
I need photographic evidence of that burlap-gilded-eucalyptus nonsense, I can’t visualise it.
It’s all very Pinterest-y/Instagrammy but I guess that’s her schtick. Congrats!
I love Badgley Mischka designs. I don’t care how stereotypically weddingish they are. I wore a pair of their shoes on my wedding day, picked the shoes out looong before I picked out the dress! Makes me like Lauren even more for not designing her own dress and wearing one by them instead.
William Tell isn’t “some dude.” He was in the band, ‘Something Corporate,’ and also released a solo album after he left the band.
He was always a really nice guy, and Something Corporate legitimately toured the world and did quite well, back in the day. I haven’t watched any of the shows she has been on, but I was a massive fan of his music. He isn’t some random guy, he is just less famous than her.
Thanks for the info. I never bothered to look up further information on him. It also seemed a little rude to call him “some dude” especially because he has a law degree from USC. Maybe this is personal because I’m working on my MA, but I would hate if I was just “some girl” on a guy’s arm.
He was described in the media as an attorney. Is this the same guy?
Will never forget that one time she didn’t go to Paris.
I think the Apples are because the more famous William Tell of lore shot an apple off his son’s head as a feat of marksmanship.

I know, right?
She’s so cute.
Framed vintage hankies? I think I need a translation-check here. Are we talking about using old snot rags as decoration? Is this an American thing? Something old, something new, something borrowed, something previously covered in someone else’s mucus?
