For the past five years or so, the most boring James Bond rumors involve the “Bond Girls.” I actually think the Daniel Craig era of Bond movies has been pretty sucky for Bond Girls. There was Eva Green in Casino Royale and she was great, but the rest of them? Eh. They actually made Gemma Arterton look LESS hot than she is in real life. So, the new Bond film is just going by “Bond 24” these days, but the script and the casting is coming together. Apparently, they start filming in six weeks, roughly the end of November/early December. And there’s news on the Bond Girl: French actress Lea Seydoux!
French actress Lea Seydoux will be bringing some heat to the next Bond film. She has signed up to play the femme fatale in the new 007 adventure, which starts filming in six weeks. The Paris-based star will meet fellow cast members, led by Daniel Craig, Ralph Fiennes, Ben Whishaw and Naomie Harris, for a script rehearsal in late November. Before then, she will undergo a series of costume, make-up and camera tests so that director Sam Mendes and the film’s producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson can determine her ‘look’.
Ms Seydoux has appeared in many French-language films, including the brilliant Cannes prize winner Blue Is The Warmest Colour. Last year’s Cannes jury, which included Steven Spielberg and Nicole Kidman, were so knocked out by Seydoux and her co-star Adele Exarchopoulos’s performances as lovers that they insisted the actresses share the Palme d’Or (the festival’s highest honour) with director Abdellatif Kechiche. Seydoux also appeared in Mission Impossible: Ghost Patrol and Quentin Tarantino’s Inglourious Basterds.
The Bond 24 storyline originally called for an actress of Scandinavian origin, but that idea was dropped for one with French ooh-la-la. There will also be an Italian connection — the 007 crew have scooted over to Rome to look for some Bond heavies.
Lea is a beauty and I’ve already been paying attention to her career. I actually wanted to put her together (in real life) with Robert Pattinson. I thought they would be hot together. She’s not as jailbaity as you might think too – she’s 29 years old. Daniel is 46. It’s still a significant age different, but hey, at least she’s not 22.
Infinitely more interesting to me are the rumors about the Bond villain. Back in April, “sources” claimed that Chiwetel Ejiofor was definitely getting approached to play the villain. Nowadays, there are rumors about Mark Strong as the villain. For what it’s worth, I kind of think Chiwetel should hold out for JAMES BOND rather than the villain, but he would be great in a villainous role (he hasn’t played many villains in his career). Mark Strong was practically begging for the villain role in a recent interview though. So maybe it will go to the guy who really wants it.
Oh, and there are rumors that Rihanna will sing the Bond song and that she’ll make a cameo in the film too.

Another bland and forgettable Bond girl.
She’s an incredibly talented actress actually. I hope they give her something to do besides look pretty.
She looks like the Bond Little Girl.
Despite being the personnification of nepotism, Léa is actually able to act if directed correctly. And that happened exactly 3 times with 3 different directors. Abdellatif Kechiche (Blue is the warmest color) Rebecca Zlotowski (Dear Prudence) and Ursula Meyer (Sister). Would 100% recommend watching these. Otherwise she’s very bland and yes she gets naked in every movie. That’s not an hyperbole, that’s fact. They made fun of that during the Césars (french oscars) with a song. But it’s a bond movie so it’s not like she’s been chosen for her acting.
I think this next bond will suck ass. Then again every bond with Daniel Craig sucked ass (except Eva Green <3)
@ BLOUP
Well…it IS hyperbole bc she def did not get naked in Midnight in Paris OR Mission Impossible 4?(the one with Jeremy Renner)
She was quite striking and memorable
Bland and forgettable. Two words I’d never associate with Lea Seydoux, one of the only actors to have a Palm d’Or from Cannes, not to mention Cesar nomination, Lumiere award, BAFTA nomination… I could go on, but I won’t. They are going to have to write her a good part to use her, otherwise you could use a zillion other actresses who are pretty. The great thing about her is that she is a brilliant actor, if you are going to go there use her wisely!
Bond films are just not what they used to be. Now that we’re on the Marvel era I just think “eh, good for her/him” when I read these kind of news.
The second photo looks like a bald Luke Wilson.
She can put her talent on display: being naked.
Lea has done other films besides Blue is the warmest color. She can act.
She’s naked in every movie she does.
But my main problem is that she’s the result of the worst neoptism.
Her grand-father and her uncle are the 2 bosses of the two biggest studios in France but she refuses to agree that it helped her.
Yep. She played in the newest Mission Impossible film, and to me, she outshone Tom Cruz.
She’s made 20-30 movies and she’s gotten naked in every single one of them? Come on.
Let’s say she is naked in every movie she does, so what? It is a weird reason to disregard her acting talent. As for nepotism, many actors and actresses came where they are today by that. That doesn’t negate her acting talent either. In addition to Blue is the Warmest Colour, i liked her in Lourdes too.
It’s not the nepotism itself that bothers me but her reluctance to agree it helped her.
No idea what you are talking about. I’ve seen almost all of Lea’s films, she has not been naked in many. Either way, I’ll never understand this country’s prudishness towards nudity. The girl has a gorgeous body, she might as well show it off. Doesn’t make her any less talented or valid as a person. Women can be their own enemy sometimes. OUR BODIES ARE FINE.
MARK STRONG!!!!!!
Yes! And I will actually watch this Bond movie if he’s in it
yes I love Marc Strong too! he’ll be a great villain!
yesss!
She is sooooo pretty! i hope is more than Naked girl Bond abandons
For the Daniel Craig era of Bond girls, they’ve generally had an A and B Bond girl. The A girl usually has a fair amount to do (Eva Green, Olga Kuryalenko, Naomie Harris – although she was an exception as a Bond girl considering who she turned out to be) and then the B girl usually comes in to look pretty for a few scenes and then dies (Caterina Murino, Gemma Arterton, Berenice Marlohe). I’m hoping Lea would be the A girl.
Right, that’s my film nerdiness for the day. Now to get up and do something….
I like both choices! But I don’t agree with Chiwetel as the next Bond: Tom Hardy or Idris Elsa all the way!
Idris Alba turned it down.
There was a strong rumour several years ago that Colin Salmon would be the first black bond, but it never happened.
I don’t think Chiwetel is interested in that type of role, but never say never!!
Mark Strong is always a reliably good bad guy but a bit overused in that capacity. Might work if they put a twist on it by making him not what Bond thought he was.
I’m not familiar with her, but Mark Strong! Yessss!
YES! I looove Mark Strong, he picks some of the worst roles sometimes, but this would be good for him. More talk about him and less about Miles Teller please.
What the f is her outfit?
That’s some Brooke Hogan realness she has on.
Mark Strong should get all the love. That voice.
Noooo! Why not Chiwetel Ejiofor??!
Also, Eva Green was amazing as Vesper! I wonder if she’ll have a full-fledged role, or will die after 5 min onscreen?
oooooh, Mark Strong as Bond Villain – POINTS!!
I am a total stan for Mark Strong. I will be there opening day if he’s in it.
I adore Lea – nepotism or not. Very few in Hollywood haven’t benefited from this.
And Mark Strong is the sex. I may pull for the villan here!
Mark Strong, yes, but am bummed if this woman gets the lead. She is very bland looking. I like the Bond movies to have women that have some kind of striking or sexy edge to them. Or are uniquely beautiful.
Lea is above and beyond in Farewell My Queen and Midnight in Paris. It’s so weird how Woody Allen turned her into dream girl Mia Farrow 1966 for the former. Good to hear!
Hmmmm…the implication here is that someone other than these two individual’s moms might be aware of their existence.
Rihanna is beautiful sure, but kind of trashy for a Bond flick no?
