Here are some photos of the first couple of country music, Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert. The tabloids have gotten out of the habit of claiming that Blake and Miranda’s marriage is on the rocks, but I take no consolation in that. I do think their marriage is as rocky as it seems. I also believe Miranda tries to keep Blake on a short leash, but Blake does what he wants. Still, I guess it’s nice to see them walk the CMA Awards red carpet together. The CMAs were last night in Nashville. Miranda’s red carpet look was a pale pink Bibhu Mohapatra Spring 2014 gown with jewelry by Lorraine Schwartz. The dress reminds me of the kinds of gowns Taylor Swift used to wear – I mean, it’s pretty but I feel like it’s too “young” for Miranda.
Miranda was a big winner last night. She picked up awards for Single of the Year (“Automatic”), Album of the Year (Platinum) and Female Vocalist of the Year (she beat Taylor Swift, ha). Blake won Male Vocalist of the year. You can see the full list of winners here.
Miranda changed her outfit twice within the ceremony. This black number with the sleek hair was her second performance look. I did a double take because she suddenly looked SO MUCH like Britney Spears. Right? I mean, she looks good, don’t get me wrong! Miranda has lost a lot of weight in the past year, but I’m glad to see that she doesn’t look like she’s still crash-dieting or whatever. She looks healthier now. But if I was styling her… I would tell her never to straighten her hair because it looks too much like Britney.
By Celebitchy: Earlier in the night Miranda wore this blue fit and flare dress to perform “All About That Bass” with Meghan Trainor. It was a cute dress, but the boob cutaway was a bit bizarre.
Here’s Miranda performing “Smoking and Drinking” with Little Big Town.

I’ll give her a pass on the pink dress, I don’t think its too girly because she went vintage on her styling.
Miranda deserved Entertainer of the Year.
It looks like Blake brought his My Size Barbie to the show.
They don’t look happy together, not on the red carpet, not when one of them wins an award, it just seems so awkward.
They were so weird last night. It was like she caught him banging a Voice contestant right before the awards.
I told my mom they look as awkward as Kenny Chesney with a woman. It was a joke I will never believe Kenny is gay. He could be the head float in a gay pride parade kissing a dude and I would never believe it.
Not my favorite look from Miranda. The dress is not something I would have picked for her at all. I thought she looked good in the other outfits from the night.
I don’t mind the pink but she needs to tone down that hair. It looks like a cheap bleach job. She needs some low lights of some dimension added desperately and also to darken her brows. That harsh blonde is aging and hard to wear past 30.
all of the dresses are fine, but i LOVE the black one on her.
and her sleek hair looks the best…it looks natural and youthful.
i don’t particularly like the vintage hair on her – much the way i don’t like the look on taylor swift.
it’s too contrived and aging.
but these two…the body language looks strained…
i’ll never get why women think a guy who strayed on the woman before won’t do it to them…
She looks SO much like Britney! Including wearing a tacky outfit like her :/
I really like that pink dress. A lot! Then again, I’m not pink gown phobic. I’d like the overall look better, though, if her hair was in more loose waves and not so stiff and structured. Would have also preferred a softer lip color.
If I were Miranda I’m not sure how I would feel about singing a song about not being a size two on the heels of a year (or two?) of famously dramatic weight loss. It seems forced or awkward or something to me. And I think they stuck her in that full-skirted dress to make her look bigger during the performance.
Yeah, I was just thinking how strange it was that Miranda Lambert would be part of this song given her dramatic weight loss. It seems ironic at best and hypocritical at worst.
I watched the show last night. Is it me or she looked genuinely nervous to win? I was surprised with her speech only addressing female artists and not mentioning her husband. But the again, this was the first time I watched CMA awards.
she is like a human Monchichi doll! all her features are in this one little part of her face or some such LOL
“monchhichi monchhichi, oh so soft and cuddly” I don’t know how old you are QQ but do you remember those commercials from the 80s? Seeing your comment about them brought it right back for me.
Spaghetti straps. STOPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP WITH THEM. Horrid!!!! No body type looks good in those. Ever. EVER.
Their is something about her face that I can’t find the right words. All I can say is that I do not see anything attractive about her. She might have a good voice for singing but that’s it.
She’s cute – not pretty. NOthing wrong with cute – it lasts longer – she’ll look young for a long time. They are an awkward couple on the carpet, especially Blake. He doesn’t do well with camera’s in his face. In the audience, though, he had his arms around her for most of the performances and she is very relaxed. Some people just aren’t comfortable on the red carpet.
I do think that Blake cheated on his wife with her. She’s constantly going on about how she checks his phone, etc–she would not be so vigilant about that sort of thing, if they had simply worked together, and had a good time together–when he was married. She’s guilty as hell, and watches Blake like a freaking hawk.
No one is posting pictures of when they were affectionate with each other during the Doobie Brothers performance, and that read as authentic. I think Blake adores her, but she is just 30/31. I think she is realizing who she is and figuring out what she wants in her career, and taking time to pour herself into collaboration and music. Early 30’s tends to be a big transition time for a lot of us, and I think that is what she is going through. Blake is almost 40, perhaps he is giving her the space to have the time to pursue those venues. I know when my career was changing and made a big leap, my husband gave me space to immerse myself, and we probably seemed disconnected to others on the outside, but I real appreciated his support without guilting me, especially after I had done that for him for numerous years. I hope they work, they seem well aligned and like they both have fun.
Interesting interview with both:
