This ^^ is the current issue of Us Weekly. It’s all about how Jennifer Aniston is tired of trying to force Justin Theroux to set a date for their wedding, so now she’s trying to convince him to simply run off with her and elope. Anonymous friends were quoted, saying stuff about how they always think Justin and Jennifer are going to throw a “surprise wedding” at any moment. The subtext of the piece was, in my opinion, that Justin is still gun-shy about marriage/weddings and Jennifer is sort of desperate to get this thing nailed down. It was actually a classic Aniston feint, given that Horrible Bosses 2 comes out in a few weeks and the Us Weekly cover was timed perfectly to come out just before the HB2 junket. So during the junket, Aniston got to deny the “rumors” (which her publicist set up) and act like everyone is obsessed with her relationship and everything is totally fine. From an Extra interview:
“Extra’s” Rob Estes caught up with Jennifer Aniston while promoting her upcoming role in “Horrible Bosses 2″ and Jennifer finally set the record straight on whether or not she and fiancé Justin Theroux have plans to elope!
On whether or not she and fiancé, Justin Theroux have tied the knot yet, Rob asked, “Did it happen? You guys eloped and no one knows?”
Jen admitted, “I haven’t read this week what’s happening with us. So I have to look in to it.”
Rob explained the recent rumors that Jennifer is planning to elope with Justin in an intimate beach wedding ceremony, “This week is… you’re gonna elope.”
Jen added, “Is that what’s happening? …Where?”
Rob explained, “It’s gonna be a surf wedding.”
Jen squashed the rumor of her plans to elope beachside and revealed, “Oh, I don’t surf. That’s gonna suck.”
Classic Aniston. I wonder why her publicist didn’t go with People Magazine for the “rumors” which could then be denied? It’s probably easier to work with Us Weekly – and once Aniston denied the rumors, Us Weekly’s editors won’t get as mad as People’s editors. Speaking of People Mag, this is what Aniston had to say to their readers:

“She’s a hard one to let go of,” Aniston told reporters Monday about reprising her role as Julia, the sex-obsessed, naughty-mouthed dentist who finds herself in a sexual addiction support group in the new comedy that opens Nov. 26. “I didn’t get enough of her! It was too quick. It was just like a little In-N-Out Burger.”
Aniston, 45 – who reunited three years later with costars Jason Bateman, Charlie Day, Jason Sudeikis and Jamie Foxx for the sequel – said she even found a certain comfort zone with her character’s salty language and love of the double entendre.
“I find it extremely entertaining the way she speaks,” says Aniston. “I don’t really think that to her she’s saying anything inappropriate. For her it’s describing the ingredients to a wonderful soufflé, or ‘What are we going to be doing this weekend?’ ”
However, the actress, who is garnering Oscar buzz for her role in Cake, balked at one line that was so filthy she couldn’t bring herself to deliver it.
“It was the one thing I didn’t say! Imagine how bad it must’ve been if I had said, ‘I can’t say it’,” she told reporters. “Either it was so bad, or I just really didn’t understand it, which was probably the case.”
Do People’s readers like this raunchy version of their sweetheart/Friend? Eh. I would say that they prefer her in wedges and scarves, looking for Mr. Right as she swishes her perfect hair, but Aniston’s rom-coms haven’t done well in the past few years, so maybe People’s readers are sort of over it too. And hey, at least Aniston is showing some “growth”. She’s raunchy in HB2 and “Oscar-worthy” in Cake. ALL THE OSCARS PLS.

well, what had happened was: she had to have it plant it , so her publicist could roll that turd pearl out there, so she could go on a magazine and get a front cover and to extra touching her hair and Scoffing a la Rachel about how “Oh These stories, But ya know is the nature of the business” and “oh but I do have these movies coming, that’s what I care about, the work * while intently telegraphing to Mario Lopez to pleeeaassee seedily hit on me about my fabulous body and how i keep looking this good*”
And squeeze in that bit about Oscar buzz, to boot. Well played, Jen.

I think pressure to be first with a story and keep up with showbiz sites is starting to affect their accuracy factor on gossip
And its not only about Aniston either
Be it Jen’s alleged exclusive pregnancy, to Beyonce ‘divorce announcement’ being their front page announcers, US Weekly IMO, is starting to lose credibility and look more like an upmarket Life & Style
US weekly is full of lies and BS stories but there are still PR people who still go to them.
True, true. However, it just seems to be a pattern with Aniston. I really think her PR game is to be the girl next door, relatable, perpetual victim. “Oh I don’t know why the tabloids care about my personal life, it’s not that interesting!” Then the mindset with her fanbase becomes “why don’t they leave the poor woman alone!”

I’m just saying that quite a few of exclusive US stories, these 2 years, like those mentioned above or those about the British Royals have turned out to be exaggerations or utter BS; and its very possible this story is one of them in a slow news week

Sometimes I wondered what the continuous big deal is about JA. I noticed many say it is due to her PR. I looked up her PR out of curiosity, and I guess now I wonder who is the boss, her or him, on what statements get released (?). Not trying to be mean, just wondering.. Jennifer quit being a girl’s girl when she became friends with the vile Chelsea Handler and used her as her mouthpiece to attack another woman.
But I thought the vile Chelsea Handler was the one who coined “girl’s girl” to put down women she didn’t think fit the bill? I just don’t think Jen’s commitment to a PR campaign of pathetic, scorned woman does anything to benefit womankind, you know?
They are such an odd couple. JT seems desperate to always look and be cool, yet he gets engaged to Jennifer Aniston? She is the opposite of cool.

It was a total derp face. I usually try to refrain from making fun of someone’s looks, but something was really off in her face in those pictures yesterday. All I could see was “DERP DERP DERP.” Plus can I add that I hated that there was a lot of coverage of her appearance at the Governor’s Awards shadowing Harry Belafonte’s wonderful speech. I know this website’s angel on JA, but I wish more sites covered that.

@Peppa, I so agree about ignoring Belafonte’s speech to cover her really ticked me off. But most of gossip sites ignored all of the recipients and talked about those there for the campaign, especially her. The NYTimes had an article about how horrible the evening was… everyone kept schmoosing even when the Academy President tried to speak. They finally got quiet for Belafonte. He would have ripped them a new one if they had not…and it was a truly great speech.

I think for Jennifer – her image is very important to her and she will use whatever tools she has to make sure her good girl image doesn’t get exposed as fake.
She seems happy with whatever she has with Justin but also comes across as someone who is very insecure and needs validation from people.
If she was confident and secure she wouldn’t constantly care about the gossip written about her nor will she get her agent to deny every single rumour. She would instead be silent and ignore rumours and just get on with her life.

Other celebs are asked about marriage all the time.. have been for years. She obviously reads things about herself. You can tell she does based on her interviews.. I think she read more gossip than anything else. Reminds me of Anne Hatheway. Stop reading online things and just live your life.
I don’t know is she reads the gossip but Huvane sure does, he even been called out by other blogs for doing it among other things. Remember their was a wedding story that was posted on CB and days later while promoting a movie Jen talk about that specific rumor and the details that was only posted here.
Seems to be her and Huvane’s MO. A story like that is planted, and then she goes on her press tour and laughs off all the ridiculous rumors (sometimes not even denying them) and wonders why the tabloids are so obsessed with her personal life. My friend, who really knows nothing about celebrity gossip, mentioned one of the Jen is pregnant rumors a little while ago saying “I highly doubt she is ever going to have a baby, why do the magazines keep writing that?” Her PR game seems to be wearing thin. I don’t dislike her, she just annoys me. I always liked Lisa Kudrow and Courteney Cox much better on Friends, and I just I have always resented that Jennifer was the only Friends star to keep her name in the Hollywood game for the past ten years.

Yes it’s the white dress metallic trim. Mario Testino who photograph Angelina for VF twitted back in July that he just finished photoshot with her but didn’t say for what magazine.

They broke up. No affair happened, there was no criminal activity. She suffered no humiliation. She handled it worse than any one else, she showed she had no class or self-respect. Look to Sandra Bullock for an example of class.

All I can say is: I’m glad we’ve progressed passed “is she pregnant” speculation. It seemed as if in the past she purposefully chose dresses that gave her the illusion of a bump. Haven’t seen that in awhile, hopefully that method for getting publicity has been retired.
