What is more righteous: Angelina Jolie’s amazing black boots or Zahara’s star-covered jeans? Some days, I really wish Zahara would just take over as her mom’s stylist because I think Zahara probably has the best style of all the Jolie-Pitts, and yes, I’m including Brad in there too. I totally want Zahara’s jeans. I wonder if they make star-covered jeans for adults? If not, they totally should.
These are some assorted photos of Angelina out with Shiloh and Zahara on Friday (they were coming out of Lee’s Art Store in NYC), plus some photos of Angelina solo, going into the Paley Center. The Paley Center outing for press for Unbroken. I guess Angelina had the afternoon free to take her two older girls out to the art supply store.
I’ve always enjoyed Zahara and Shiloh’s relationship. They seem like especially tight sisters, probably because they’re relatively close in age. Shiloh is just a year and a half younger than Z. And even then, you can tell that Shiloh is already an inch or two taller than Z – Shiloh’s going to be a very willowy teenager, I bet. And I bet Z will always be petite. Shiloh’s shaggy Dorothy Hamill hairstyle is still amazing.
By the way, everybody has been talking about Angelina’s statements during her DuJour Magazine interview, where she basically said she’s going to quit acting. She issued a statement to Entertainment Weekly where she was like “I’m not quitting… yet.” I tend to think that she’s in transition right now, deciding if she’s going to follow through on some long-gestating acting projects, plus she’s waiting to see how Unbroken is received. But… she’s talked about quitting acting for a while now. She really doesn’t want to do much acting anymore, that I believe.

@lucky. Practice. I wore heels almost every day in HS. I have two pairs from Payless that are from their “comfort” line. Easiest heels to walk in. Try those and start with small tasks, such as pumping gas or going out to eat. Tasks where your walking is limited. Also, wedges are a great starting off point, much easier to walk in for a lot of people.
Agree with Sally – practice, practice. Also – start with a lower heel and gradually work up. I wear 4+ inch heels every day to work and find them comfortable, but I am in my mid 40s and have been wearing heels daily for years. You also have to buy decent shoes. If they are not comfortable in the store, they will never be comfortable. Price does not necessarily correlate to comfort. I have cheap heels that are comfortable and more expensive shoes that are not.
i’m still awed when i see young girls in really high heels chase buses and jump over puddles and sewage grills like it’s nothing.
i can barely walk in sneakers. starting to think that for me, leg coordination is mere illusion.

And you can get these great gel inserts for heels too. I rarely use them cause heels are more comfortable for me than flats. But have some for a couple pair that are a little big. They are awesome – especially if you are standing for long periods.

I loathe heels. Especially high stem heels like that. I love the look though.
I can wear heels like that, but only with prep.
Prep involves inserts, thin, sheer lining socks like panty hose, and some practice to figure how to land your weight in your foot. It’s so different than flats and that’s what trips people up. Pun not intended, but I like it.
Jolie’s cap look works great with the boots. That blaze, skirt is just terrible.
Look for a platform pump or wedge where the toe end arcs up rather than staying parallel to the ground- it makes the rocking portion of the forward motion less of a shock/ crash motion as you land on the ball of your foot then toe off.
Its all about how you walk. I see so many women clomping around like cattle when they try to put on heels, especially boots with heels. You dont walk the same way you do with flats. You have to almost do the “model walk” but with way less exaggeration. What I mean is that you have to step lightly, and the strides should be a little bit longer than average, the pace is slower, and one should go in front of the other. Do not do the side to side foot clomping thing. Please. I cringe when I am in a shop and I hear the tell tale *clomp clomp clomp* of a woman wearing heels that doesnt usually wear them. Slow down. Take a longer stride. One foot in front of the other and if you dont know what I mean picture footsteps in the snow… each print should be relatively in front of the other… not off to the side. It’s all in how you walk. And heels are great for practicing your switch. Helped me to keep better balance by walking an imaginary straight line and shifting my weight in a subtle way.
Agree, shizwhat (love yr screen name) – it’s definitely all in the walk. And like Sharra55 upthread, I’m actually more comfortable in heels than in flats. (I think it’s because I have high arches from early years of ballet – but maybe it’s just because I’ve been wearing heels since my teens.) I completely agree that it’s all in the walk. And once you’ve got that walk down, you don’t even have to think about it.
Walking aside, when you purchase the heels, always pay attention to where the shoe heel is placed in correlation to your foot. The point of the heel should sit in the middle of the pad of your heel, and not so far back it’s at the edge. This is where your weight is supported. That’s usually the trick to how comfortable the heel is. If you find shoes where the heel point is at the right spot, you could be wearing 6inchers and you’ll never notice. That’s how comfortable they’ll be.
As everyone else said, slow down, walk like a show pony rather than stomping.
Also, if pencil heels are a problem, practice with wedged or block heels. More of your weight is supported that way.

This is soooo important- heel spikes placed behind the center of the heels cause so much extra strain on the knees and ball of the foot. These are the only kind of heels I can wear these days with my arthritic knees & feet ( and for short times, at that :(* )
I just cannot, cannot wear heels. My shoes of choice are Alegria, which I buy and have sent to Australia from the U.S. SO COMFIRTABLE. But, WOW, the things one learns on here…

I actually think these pictures were taken after she did the interview with Tom Brokaw. I saw a lot of pics on a fan site and Shiloh morphs between Brad’s face and Angie’s face.. she really is a 50/50 combo. I did see a picture of her making a facial expression and I was floored at how much she looked like her mother.. especially the lips.
Zahara is def the older sister in attitude and swagger. this picture brought to mind them leaving Lee’s when they were about 3 or 4.. Shiloh in that blacke little pea coat and Zahara in the white sweater.. so cute..

Sometimes Shiloh looks a lot like Brad and other times she looks just like Angie.
She has Brad’s facial expressions. And I was shocked she has Angie’s facial expressions also. The picture of them together making the same face is totally cute… And yes she totally has her mum’s lips!
All Angie’s bio-kids look just like she did when she was younger. I thought they looked a lot like Brad, but when I saw Angie’s childhood pictures I was blown away by the resemblance. I also have always loved Shiloh and Zahara’s BFF Sisters relationship! I love this picture.

Years ago Angie spoke of why she chose to adopt. The sum of it was she wanted to take in as many kids as she could without sacrificing love and attention they would need. All pre Brad ofcourse.
I admire her choice to adopt, how she keeps the kids connected to their roots, and underestood she had limits as a mother and to adopt more would be to the detriment or the other children as she could only give so much.

Zahara reminds me a lot of my little sister, physically. They’re both short (my sister’s only an inch taller than me at 5’4″ and she thinks she’s an Amazon and lords it over me), but have really long legs, and are pretty slender. I always think of my little sister when I see pictures of Zahara….

This is how a real celebrity acts! I remember an interview (last few months?) where she got a question about how she makes it work as a mom, humanitarian, actress etc. and her reply, compared to Goopy’s always snooty attitude, was also pure class… She always seems to remember that she is blessed to have this career, fame, wealth, and never complains about the “burden” of being a millionaire star.

I hope that AJ does what Clint Eastwood has done: be a director first (if that’s what she wants), and then star in a handful of her own projects, when she finds some material that really suits her. I hope she does not disappear from our screens, because we have so few true Movie Stars these days (the looks, the charisma, the talent), and I would hate to see one go so early. AJ will age gorgeously and I hope that she plays really fierce 50-somethings, 60-somethings, and 70-somethings in the decades to come.
Also, re: Jon Voigt, I totally believe that he was a bad father to AJ but he is a great actor, imo. He gave AJ her start in acting classes (enrolling her in a famous WeHo acting school, if I remember correctly) and he gave AJ her innate gift for performing. I saw another pic of them at the premier where the fans were asking them to kiss. She went to kiss Brad and he turned away. Hmmm. I read Portia Di Rossi’s book and she said everyone in HW is a closet smoker. It’s how they stay thin.
I’ve seen most all of the premiere photos too and don’t recall that. She kissed them on the cheek while they discussed something and ran her hands over his face at another point.

I have been married for 30 years and have several disagreements over the years and we are still together in a solid marriage. If I’m not mistaken Angelina and Brad wedding vow was if we have a fight we promise to say sorry. They also mentioned the children did not expect them not to fight. This is all a lot of nonsense.

The video is a set/series of pics of them on the balcony.
I find funny that in some of them AJ has a cardigan on and in others she has it tied up at the waist. if the supposed “fight” was for real,they should post all the pics, not just a selection of them.
Who knows how long were they in the balcony? Maybe there are other pics where nothing happened, and they just mashed up together these to make it seem they were fighting.
I think what we see is not all that happened, the mag/tabloid manipulated/selected the pics they wanted.
I watched the video again and feel a bit stupid for being tabloid brainwashed. There is obviously pics missing from the sequence. They are standing close as if about to embrace and she’s wearing the sweater and then immediately cuts to where she is not wearing the sweater and standing removed from him. And he really does seem to be smiling when he is doing the crazy hand talking.
I am better than this! How dare I believe what they sell me? Those pics where she is looking sad at the end and the suggestion that it is some big blowout influence what you see. Watch it a second time and it looks very different.

I’m pretty neutral about Angelina but when I saw the last of the balcony pics I really felt for her, she looked so sad. I know people want to believe in the fairy tale they sell but when you strip away the Hollywood glitz she’s a woman who has been through so much and is apparently very tough of herself. I hope she takes some time for herself after the Oscars, especially considering her health.
We have no idea what they talk about when they are together, nor we know what they talked n the balcony.

My post was genuine, believe what you want, we are obviously coming from a different place. I’ve never said anything negative about Angelina on here and I have no idea why she looked sad but as a human being I feel empathy, whether it’s the Queen of England or a dying baby in a war torn country, I know we’re on Celebitchy but surely we’re allowed to feel for another woman. A true fan would see the real person, except their flaws the same they would a friend. I’m not the one with another agenda.
I saw balcony pics at the Dailymail, the day before she had her premiere at Sydney (and right after the AFA’s), and I thought she looked really sad too. They had close up shots of her face, and she looked really pensive and melancholic. She wasn’t crying or anything–I thought she was maybe nervous about the premiere.
I don’t get the upset about pictures of her and Brad MAYBE fighting, or MAYBE smoking…..Brad and Angelina have been together for going on ten years…..that will not have been their first fight, and it won’t be their last. And if they did quit smoking, but still pick it up on occasion–that’s normal. My neighbor told his son that he quit, yet he goes behind his garage in his backyard to smoke. If the pictures were from before the premiere in Sydney, maybe she needed a smoke or two to relax herself. She isn’t constantly blathering on and on about quitting smoking, so I don’t see the big deal.

Normally I feel bad for poring over celeb kids – they’re kids and they should be left alone. But these kids are too cute for words. Knox, the boy twin, is going to be a real heartbreaker.
How do you find something new to write about this lady every day? And there are always so many comments, I don’t really understand it. Same with Benedict Cumberbatch. I don’t have anything against either of them, I know him from Sherlock and her from…everywhere, I guess. I don’t typically read the threads about them, so I don’t really understand the strong attachment people have, but–I don’t know how to end that thought.
You, I like. I never read the Cumberbatch posts because I literally only know him from Sherlock and it’s like the comments are in a different language (I have no idea what they are talking about but the commenters at dlisted tell me they are cuckoo). The ones about Jolie crack me up because her super fans are unhinged. I don’t know how you can get so worked up about an actor/actress you do not, and will never ever know.
Those two have a massive fan base. Their posts get a lot of hits.
Oh, I get that they’re popular and posting about them is smart business, I just wonder how they find stuff every day and am pretty fascinated with the intensity of feel that they garner. It’s not a judgement, it’s just a question.

Do I sense that you’re addressing me? If so, I’ll reiterate that none of it bothers me and from what I know of them, I don’t have any problems with either, so I’m very definitely not casting aspersions, but are there not daily items on them, or at the very least, close to daily posts about them? I don’t think I’m incorrect or out of line for bringing that up.
I love that she took her kids to an Art Supply store! That is awesome.
I didnt bother to look at the pics, but are people really trying to guess what’s going on from pap pics? Plus, so what if they were having a fight? Why are people so invested in this relationship that even the thought of a disagreement sends them over the edge?
Haha. I agree that Zahara has the best style of all the Jolie-Pitts lol She’s always been girlie but still elegant. lol AJ hasn’t always had the best style so I agree – Z needs to do a takeover! lol

Say what you will about AJ but she’s obviously a good mom in that her kids seem very happy and loved. 🙂
