Lindsay Lohan’s father Michael just got out of jail in mid March after having served less than two years out of a four year sentence for multiple charges including assault and drunk driving. He wrote her at least two public letters from jail urging her to turn her life over to God since he was converted to religion in prison.
While in jail he also sent a strange drawing to the NY Daily News gossip column in which he depicted Lindsay as a young innocent preyed on by greedy lawyers and paparazzi.
Now he’s embroiled in a custody battle with Lindsay’s partying mom, Dina, over visitation rights for his younger kids, Lindsay’s brother and sister Dakota and Aliana.
Never one to pass up an opportunity, Michael Lohan is reaching out to his famous daughter yet again through whichever press outlet will have him and has published a letter to her through paparazzi agency X17. He urges her to find God after her DUI arrest this weekend:
Lindsay needs to find God, get better, clean house and start all over again with the people who were there for her at the beginning: her family. Too many people are around Lindsay for the wrong reasons. They want to see what they can get from her instead of caring about Lindsay herself. I’m her father. I don’t want anything from her but her love and to be her father first. I’m here for Lindsay as a father and a father only.
And it’s about time that her mother Dina stop building up the walls of division between myself and my children—especially Lindsay. And if Dina really cares about out children–especially Lindsay– then she should do the right thing so we can both be there as parents. Because what Lindsay needs are both parents. I wish Dina would put things aside and act the way God wants us to: right the wrongs and not compound the wrongs.
I hope Lindsay finally gets the help that she needs. I want her to know that her Daddy is here for her.
Lohan’s dad also told the NY Daily News that his daughter’s accident “could be a blessing” and that it “could be the sign that gets her the help she needs.” He says she’s hanging with a crowd of people who are trying to use her and repeats the claim that she needs to find God. He is working as a counselor for a teen substance abuse program and lives in Copaigue, Long Island.
Maybe if Lohan’s daddy had found his conscience a little earlier, he would have been able to be around for Lindsay when she really needed him.
Meanwhile that vodka company that was sponsoring Lohan’s 21st birthday party in Las Vegas on July 2nd, Svedka, has withdrawn their offer. They don’t want to be associated with Lohan after her much-publicized DUI bust.
