Before this year, I had no idea that every single radio station held “Jingle Balls” for Christmas and that major musical stars turned out. It seems like every weekend, there are like four Jingle Balls (BALLS!) in various cities. Anyway, these are some photos of Taylor Swift at Z100’s Jingle Ball (this is like the third Jingle Ball she’s attended), plus some photos of Swifty at the Billboard Women of the Year event on Friday. I’m not crazy about either outfit, although that shade of purple looks great on her.
Taylor celebrated her 25th birthday on Saturday, although she’s been partying and enjoying early-birthday stuff all week. At the Billboard event, Aretha Franklin even sang to Tay-Tay. If you remember correctly, Aretha threw some magnificent shade at Taylor last month when Aretha was asked about her directly. Aretha’s only comment about Taylor? “Great gowns, beautiful gowns.” But all is forgiven, I suppose.
But the birthday celebrations didn’t end there! On Friday night, Taylor posted some photos on her Instagram of what turned out to be a completely fantastic A-list birthday celebration, with guests like Beyonce, Jay-Z, Justin Timberlake, Karlie Kloss, Sam Smith, Alana Haim and more. I can’t believe Bey and Jay came out for Taylor! And I can’t believe Lena Dunham gave Taylor a cat-pendant necklace.

It’s a PR birthday.
Yes. Those photos feel like an industry party more than anything. Like something her label put together. That being said, like her or hate her, she is a force to be reckoned with and will be around for a long time I think. A couple years ago when Red was released, I felt she was so overexposed but she has managed to avoid backlash from that and remain in a strong position within the industry. Key to this is that she treats her fans well. She knows who butters her bread and keeps that in mind always.

Maybe kimye circus was inconvenient timing for them and they rsvp’d. But this is a party and who doesn’t love parties. Its not like both events were happening at the same time and they chose Taylor’s party over the wedding (which is still not a crime)

In fairness, how many celebrities have non-famous friends in general? Most of us make our circle from our work and peer groups, and with the exception of a few outliers who might have stuck around since childhood, who else is going to deal with that lifestyle? Or not take advantage of it? You figure a certain amount of healthy paranoia develops after awhile – just look at J. Law’s interview awhile back when she mentioned being photographed without permission by a friend’s aquaintance. If you have to worry about that all the time, it probably sours the experience of going outside the norm. Besides, you figure it pays off to be in good with your fellow powerhouse performers.

Come on Taylor like at 20 and Perry still 0 , Besides the amazing charts and records her latest album reaching , Taylor got 3 nominations at the Grammy’s with only her one song in contention and in the best catoergies , Song of the Year and Record of the Year… While Perry’s never even one a Grammy , and this year she only got nominated and for pop album , not the top awards .
I don’t understand why it’s such a big deal for some that Taylor has famous friends, she is one of the most successful pop stars of the past decade, she has been everywhere this year and the year before that, and I’ve heard that she is nice. After all she IS from this industry, it’s normal that she would have friends there just as normal as it would be for a teacher to have fellow teachers they work with at their birthday parties or doctors with other doctors. It’s the life that she lives, it may not be a regular everyday life, but it’s a celebrity life.
I’m thinking there are different kinds of friends. It’s hard to look at Aretha or Beyonce or Justin and think, “oh of course, Taylor called them personally when she got a new kitten.” But for a giant birthday event, this is a statement that she is on their level now. As I cleaned out the kitty litter pan today, lovingly wiped out the inside, flushed the myriad of overnight poops down the toilet and lugged the stinky litter out to the compost bin, I pondered on whether or not Taylor scoops poop. Is she a hands-on mother with her beloved felines? Does she ever wipe poopy feet and smelly bums that I occasionally have to do when my beloved calico, who is a tad cleanliness challenged, forgets to do it herself? Or does she assign it to some minion so she can concentrate on just giving love and collecting cat jewelry that nobody in their right mind would ever wear?

That’s an excellent question. I’m leaning towards one of her personal assistants as being tasked with that fun. She’s too busy going to/hosting parties, posting pics to Instagram, and going for pap strolls (when, yes, she’s not making & promoting albums) to be bothered with all of that. It wouldn’t surprise me in the least if she had herself a cat nanny. 😉
