The Super Bowl is this Sunday, and on a gossip-level, I could not be less interested in the actual game. I want to see if there are any more ball-shenanigans and I’m interested to see if Gisele Bundchen is going to alienate a bunch of people again, but other than that… yeah, not interested. I’m probably going to go the movies. Still, let’s talk about Gisele! Back in 2012, when the Patriots lost to the Giants, Gisele mouthed off to a reporter right after the game. She was trying to defend Tom Brady and she ended up throwing his teammates under the bus when she said: “My husband canot f—king throw the ball and catch the ball at the same time.” Allegedly, the Patriots were super-pissed at Gisele about that. Obviously.
So is Gisele coming to this year’s Super Bowl in Arizona? Probably. Although she might only come on game day. On the NFL’s Media Day earlier this week, Tom was asked where Gisele was and he replied, “She’s at home [in Boston] taking care of everybody, all the kids. She’s gonna come out this weekend. There’s obviously a lot going on with media day and our preparations [here], so she’s taking care of the home front.” But OK! Magazine (I know, I know) claims that Tom would love it if Gisele would just STAY HOME completely:
The University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Arizona will be completely packed for Super Bowl XLIX on Sunday, but New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady is hoping one person doesn’t attend: his wife, Gisele Bündchen! A source revealed to OK! Magazine that Tom is “desperate” to keep wife from attending the game on Feb. 1.
“He knows there’s way too much on his mind to let Gisele become a distraction,” the source told OK! Instead, Brady asked his supermodel wife to watch on the television like millions of others with their three children.
“He suggested she watch from a remote location,” the source added. The insider said that Brady’s ban on Bündchen is because of her bad behavior on game day in the past. In 2012, Tom was mortified when Gisele was caught on camera dissing his team after they lost to the New York Giants, saying her “husband cannot f***ing throw the ball and catch the ball.”
“Tom knows all of Boston, not to mention that his teammates, were stunned by Gisele’s poor sportsmanship after the Super Bowl slipped away from them,” the OK! source said. Plus, the insider added, Gisele has not been welcome to watch regular season games in the players’ family box because she “doesn’t get along with most of the other women.”
And now that one controversy hangs over the Pats as they enter the Super Bowl (the Deflategate scandal, alleging the team deflated footballs during the Jan. 18 AFC Championship Game), Tom does not want anything else to go wrong.
I’m kind of torn. I would imagine Tom is too. Like, I do believe that he loves his wife and he loves how she passionately supports him, but he’s probably also aware of the fact that Gisele alienates a lot of people, including his teammates and their wives. In any case, Gisele is coming to Arizona, I have no doubt.

Exactly. She does dominate him. I will never forget years ago, he had a bum leg and was hobbling around in the snow, carrying her groceries or something up a steep flight of stairs to her New York apartment. She was hands free. It was before they married, I think. And it is funny to me how she makes much more money than he does, but she makes him pay all the bills and stuff. If she gets her mind made up to go to Arizona, she will be right there.

As a matter of fact TMZ was constantly showing footage of Brady running all of her errands for her while on crutches. Every time a new piece of footage would emerge of him running around Greenwhich Village doing her chores, the whole TMZ crew would shout “Errand boy, errand boy.” So, of course, we all know who really wears the dress in that family.
I cannot stand Giselle. I was so glad she showed her true colors when my NY Giants whipped her poor hubby’s behind. Emotional or not, one thing you NEVER do, is throw your husband’s teammates under the bus.

That was a really dumb thing for her to say. I know she thought she was defending him, but she probably just embarrassed him and put him in a really awkward situation. It’s important to use your head when interacting with your spouse’s business associates, but doubly so when you’re famous. I’m surprised she didn’t handle it better.
The league came under fire afterwards because the wives were exposed to the crowd and she was responding to a guy who was heckling her, not a reporter. Bianca Wilfork was with her and supported her and complained to the league that they should have been separated from the crowd.

The whole thing got blown out of proportion, mostly by the local tabloid, which chose to run two attack articles by women columnists (mostly bashing her for supporting breast feeding) on the front page instead of any actual news or coverage of the game. The player who dropped the ball, Wes Welker, was photographed hugging her on a beach just a few weeks later.

This week has really exposed the NFL for their idiocy and failings and has also exposed a lot of folks in the media for their bias. Belichick’s impromptu conference where he schooled the media about how the footballs are handled was GOLD. Add to that Bob Kraft coming out with guns blazing and we all KNOW Kraft wouldn’t have made such a public statement if he wasn’t 100% sure that the NFL doesn’t have sh*t on the Pats. It’s amazing to me how the ESPN talking heads just came out and called Brady a liar and a cheater with ZERO evidence. But then again, this is all for ratings, all for Super Bowl hype…
Now that the NFL has come out and admitted that the referee doesn’t log the PSI level prior to games, that they only feel the footballs and then approve/disapprove, it’s pretty clear that the Pats did nothing illegal, and that the fault lies with the league for not applying a stricter standard to ball inflation levels. Also, if the PSI levels weren’t gauged and logged, then how the HELL can they prove that the Pats balls were 2 lbs below the regulation PSI level? Things that make you go “hmmmmmm…?”
Also, a minor pet peeve about the constant references to Boston. The Patriots are NOT a Boston team, they belong to four other states as well and the stadium isn’t even in Boston, it’s in Foxboro.

And @Kitten: the Patriots come under fire for stuff like this because of the relationship Goodell has with Robert Kraft. And it’s rightly so – he’s been giving his friend a break on stuff for years.

But whatever their relationship is, is not relevant when it come to something as serious as accusing the team of engaging in illegal conduct without having any proof. Facts are facts.
To me, if you skewer a team before anything has been proven, then you don’t have integrity as a journalist or a sports commentator. There was no objectivity there and that’s what I have a problem with.

I am kinda fiery too and I don’t know if I could have stayed quiet during that mess. So, on the one hand, I don’t blame Gis and I love how she always supports Tom so passionately. He’s declined all interview requests, he hasn’t made any disciplinary actions, and by all appearances he’s just trying to wait this storm (and by “this storm” I mean the season-long barrage of criticism) out. He is (rightfully) in a bad place now. And that he and Kraft are tight is simply a fact, and it has been argued for years that the Pariots have been recipients of lighter punishments because of that friendship.
I just hate the “blame the b***h” stuff in these kinds of stories. Yeah, maybe she popped off, so what? Like men never do?
Gisele is famous enough, and has been for long enough, and knows the drill re: being married to Brady long enough, for it to be a reasonable expectation of her to be able to keep her mouth shut, even if she’s being heckled. Plenty of celebs get heckled in various environments and know to just not engage. She says a lot of dumb crap. I don’t think her being heckled or *gasp!* “exposed” to the press is an excuse for her saying more dumb crap.

I saw the clip, and while I cannot deny that she was being heckled by, most likely, a drunk fan, all she had to do was smile and ignore him. He made enough of a jerk out of himself without Giselle making herself look equally as bad by responding to his comments while simultaneously disparaging her husband’s teammates. It wasn’t a good look for her and made her appear like a sore losing crybaby.
I’m surprised Bianca didn’t go off on the guy. She is a tough chick.

It’s so hard for me to reconcile people’s perception of Brady with the guy I see every post-game conference, the guy that does so much for Best Buddies, the guy that took a pay-cut just to help his team. I know it’s all subjective but it’s so hard for me to understand how people can describe Brady as “smug” or “arrogant.” He honestly just seems like such a chill, sweet guy to me. Even when asked about the SNL skit mocking him he just said “I didn’t see it but I heard it was really funny.”
I mean, I’ll always hate Peyton Manning as a football player, but even I can concede that he seems like a funny and likeable guy. Eh..I’m too invested.

Yes to this Kitten! People and the media just hate Tom and the Pats because they are so good, and they win. It is obvious that Tom works hard and is 110% dedicated to eating right, training, preparing for games, etc. He is not out at the bars a la Johnny Manziel boozing it up with floozies during the season. (some) People will always try to tear down those who succeed.
And about how nice Tom is – this reminds me of a quote by Gisele in a magazine interview, she said “Tom doesn’t have a mean bone in his body.” We all know guys like that and they are rare gems. Now I think he gets competitive on the field and that is part of why he wins, but at home, everywhere else, he is a sweet ole teddy bear! (Gis “Tom go clean that toilet!” Tom: “ok babe!”) HAA
Bledsoe was my crush too. The best arm in the NFL for the time. I still dislike Brady. He’s not defendable. Not without looking the other way out of team loyalty.

The things he did for the firefighters after the deadly fire on their street last year were truly heartfelt and touching. Winners always face accusations and backlash. If the Seahawks win, within a year, people will be trying to tear them down too.

As to Brady trying to ban Giselle that sounds like 100% bs to me. However, I could see him asking her to come later in the week with the kids because she is sick with a bad cold that all of the kids apparently have. Oh I don’t disagree with you that Kraft and Goodell are tight, I just disagree that their relationship is helping the Pats in ANY way when it comes to the deflated ball “controversy”. Goodell isn’t silent because he’s protecting the Pats, he’s silent because he knows the NFL f*cked up. He couldn’t stop the media blow-up and now he has to admit that the fault lies on the League not properly recording the PSI-levels.
The truth is that Pats have been publicly skewered for this, without any proof. Hell, Bountygate generated less controversy than this nonsense.
In regards to the videotaping of signals (that were seen by 80,00 people BTW), Belichick paid the price for that. He copped to breaking the rules and he suffered for it so when do people just get over that and move the eff on?
Personally, I think the practice of putting bounties to inflict serious injuries on players is probably the most unethical, morally bankrupt thing that the NFL has ever seen (and that’s saying a lot) but nobody gives a sh*t about the Saints because they haven’t won three Superbowls and won their division 16 times.
At what point do you acknowledge that there’s at least a whiff of bias there?
@Kitten: Personally I have a hard time getting particularly worked up about “Deflate-gate” because for it to be a truly meaningful scandal I’d have to believe that other teams aren’t actively skirting the rules as well. And there is just too much money at stake for me to ever believe that. So the only thing I’m really taking from this scandal is the fact that I get to see a bunch of grown men talk about balls a lot.
And as for the rest… the question is whether or not a different coach and a different team would have received a stiffer penalty, because people had been complaining about suspicions that Belichick had been doing that for a while. Because I think at this point we all KNOW that Goodell is biased in everything he does, and there’s no denying that he’s not exactly consistent with punishments. With the Saints, I go back to 2 things: 1) other teams may not institute a ‘bounty’ but they sure as hell target injured players and 2) the Saints remain a great story. They came back from Katrina and won, but haven’t won too much so people still root for them. Drew Brees is a decent, hard working guy.
In case you can’t tell, I’m kind of cynical about this stuff.

I actually agree on that about SpyGate, i just think if you get caught then you deserve the consequences. But I found it pretty rich that Who’s His Butt that was coaching Carolina the year they lost to the Pats in the Superbowl had the audacity to complain about SpyGate and blame it on their loss… when several of his players were caught using steroids not much later.
I agree about the deserving the consequences and I wouldn’t think it was fair if the Pats franchise wasn’t made to pay their dues.
I just think it’s worth noting in addition to the Saints’ use of bounties, the NFL is investigating the Browns for illegal use of electronic devices for sideline communication, that the Chargers were fined in 2012 for cheating through illegal use of towels with a hidden substance, and that the Cowboys and Redskins were fined millions in cap dollars after being found guilty of purposely dumping salaries into the uncapped year in 2010.
These things all happened but none were as big of a deal or got anywhere near the amount of media coverage as Spygate or Deflategate.
At some point, if we’re being honest, we need to concede that a lot of the vitriol directed towards the Pats come from the fact that they’ve been a really solid and successful franchise for the past 15 years.
I’m not whining about it–I’ll happily take the hate along with the success (although plenty here would say that not winning the SB isn’t success) but I’m simply saying that this is the nature of sports. People get heated, and everyone hates a winning franchise. Yankees were no different, Lakers no different, etc. It’s an easy way to unite different fan bases as well: hate the winner.
I feel comfortable assuming that every team is pushing boundaries like that. There is simply too much money at stake. Football is a billion dollar business.
And I think a major factor of “Deflate-gate” was timing. Right at the beginning of a dead week with nothing to talk about, lots of air time to kill while everyone is focus in on just these two teams, it’s the absolute worst time for a story like that to break. Add in the fact that it’s a nationally prominent team, and it becomes a grand scandal. While I dont think anyone would have made a big a deal if it were a team like the Browns, I think the Cowboys would have gotten similar treatment.

It really was not. She was being verbally abused by Giants fans at the time. I’m not a huge fan of hers, but I would have done the same thing, if I’d been in her shoes.
But what you guys are not seeming to realize is that even though she might have been responding to a heckler what she said was still a diss to Brady’s teammates. “My husband can’t fu–ing throw the ball and catch the ball at the same time.” If she had said something about the Giants I could understand but she basically said that they lost because The Pats couldn’t catch the freaking passes. There’s no defending that and Brady knew it.

One of my dearest friends is Brazilian/naturalized American and she has no filter; it’s all right there on the surface. She lost a job because she popped off more than once. But it’s one of the things I love about her because she’s so funny and so honest.
I was thinking that too. She was raised in a different country and may not have a Bull**** filter. I like it when people don’t BS and say what they really think.
And, from what I have witnessed from my friend and other Brazilian women, they have none of our puritanical attitudes about sex and and the body. Sex is to be enjoyed and not repressed.
When Brady originally got together with Gisele I could understand why. Her money and looks were part of the package, sure. But he has probably had plenty of women throwing themselves at him over the years. I’ve read a quote by him that said he and Gisele and their kids are very affectionate with one another. I’m sure she’s lively and fun and he doesn’t get bored very often.

There is no “I” in team. They win as a collective whole, and lose as one, even if it at the hands of only one or two players. It’s an unwritten rule, you don’t throw your teammates under the bus. Just because Giselle doesn’t play herself, as a player’s wife, she should know better.

She and Bianca Wilfork were trying to get to an elevator to take them to the team and they were being heckled by the crowd. One guy in particular was shouting obnoxious stuff at her about Tom and she defended her husband.

Kendra was upset but she didn’t respond and she didn’t place the blame on the team. It’s funny how people are making excuses for Gisele’s bad behavior.

Funny enough, the Patriots don’t particularly bug me – I would have WAY rather seen them win in 2007 and get their perfect season rather than Eli Manning and his derp face winning a Superbowl (let alone 2).

Huh, the interview I read (sports not gossip pages) said she would be there this week-end. The picture of the 3 kids at the table lunching with their Brady jerseys was cute. They have beautiful property, you can see from their window, in that picture.
That was the first thing I noticed in the picture too – that wonderful back yard they have. Their property in Boston must be huge, it looks like they live on a golf course but it’s all their yard.
Late to reply to this but they do actually live on the edge of The Country Club in Brookline. It’s the clubs golf course you see in Gisele’s photos.
Absolutely gorgeous view but there are no huge swaths of yard like that left anyplace in Brookline for anyone no matter how wealthy, it so very over-developed now.
Gisele is an absolute motor-mouth with *no* filter. She does almost a stream-of-consciousness thing in interviews that makes for some really idiotic snippets. She’s not completely dumb, but it’s really easy to make her look that way. Smile honey – don’t talk, just smile.
They need to check their story–no one in New england was pissed —she said the exact thing we were all saying!! W.Welker had his share of key drops and no tears were shed when he left.

Tom Brady is one of the biggest trash talkers out there and yet no one’s calling him a thug. Richard Sherman worked his way out of Compton and into Stanford, and he may be a loudmouth but he’s incredibly thoughtful and well spoken, and he’s one of the funnest people to watch in the NFL. He’s taken that trash talking to the bank.
Then again, you’re Cowboys fans. You’re not used to fun.
Ahhh Bridget….The Cowboys had plenty of fun this season. As I recall–they had a lot of fun beating the Seahawks when they played them earlier in the season. -) And alas the Seahawks yesterday did indeed look like thugs at the end when they initiated that fight in the final seconds out of frustration. THAT was a pretty classless act. And remember–I was half heartedly rooting for them. But Mr. Dirty Martini’s point was indeed made in that mini melee. Tacky tacky.
Maybe Tommy likes to be dominated by his woman. Some “powerful” men get off on that. While I’m not a fan of the Patriots, I love those two pissy bitches.
I don’t really have a dog in this fight(Steeler nation for life!!) but I will say that I hope the Legion of Boom and Russel Wilson are on FIRE during the game! I looooove a good defense and have been admiring those boys all season!
Having grown up in New England, I should probably be rooting for the Patriots, but I really REALLY don’t like Tom Brady. He strikes me as a pretty-boy dumb jock. And I don’t like the fact that he left his pregnant girlfriend (Bridget Moynihan) and took up with Giselle. As for Giselle, she’s just one of many of Leonardo DiCaprio’s leftovers. Tom and Giselle are basically the quarterback and head cheerleader. How original. What will be interesting is what happens to them when his NFL career ends. What’s he going to do? Be a sports commentator? Start hawking Isotoner gloves or arthritis medicine? Or maybe Bravo will come out with a new reality series: Real Housewives of the NFL.
1- He didn’t leave his ex “pregnant” for Gisele. She got pregnant when they were over and she announced her pregnancy when they were over.
2- Bridget knew the relationship was over and many believe she got pregnant on purpose, as if a baby would keep a man around…
3- Gisele was never Leo’s leftovers. She said no to his advances for years and once she was single and he was still pursuing her, she gave him a chance.
4- Gisele didn’t grow up in a “cheerleader” culture. In fact, we find it all ridiculous.

Any woman who says labor didn’t hurt is in a backwards way belittling the pain and work women go through bringing their child into the world -so she was asking for shit with that comment from years ago. It makes sense she’s in such a judgmental industry towards women with that comment. I can just picture her saying, ‘Labor hurt for you?’ she shrugs her shoulders-‘Eh-wasn’t anything for me.’
She seems to me to be a woman who takes a lot of things for granted-her looks, accessibility to things like organic food, etc. Years ago she did some event to promote health with kids so she taught a yoga class with them and when being interviewed after said, ‘none of the kids even knew who I was.’ These kids are broke gisele, they don’t read vogue-I thought this was about health and promoting it-not you.
