Paris got credit for five days served and has 40 days remaining out of her original sentence! I’m Not Obsessed breaks down the reasoning for the credit:
She went into jail a few minutes before midnight on the first day and got credit for one full day. On the day she was released, it was a few minutes after 12. So again, she got credit for the full day served. Add that to the actual three days she was in – and there you go.
She was shaking, wearing no makeup and a crying constantly in court.
She shouted “It’s not right!” and yelled out “Mom!” to her mother in the audience. She was wearing a sweat shirt over pants and no makeup when cops hauled her in, and after her sentence was announced she had to be physically dragged out:
Screaming and crying, Paris Hilton was escorted out of a courtroom and back to jail Friday after a judge ruled that she must serve out her entire 45-day sentence behind bars rather than in her Hollywood Hills home.
“It’s not right!” shouted the weeping Hilton, who violated her parole in a reckless driving case. “Mom!” she called out to her mother in the audience.
Hilton, who was brought to court in handcuffs in a sheriff’s car, came into the courtroom disheveled and weeping, hair askew, sans makeup, wearing a gray fuzzy sweat shirt over slacks.
She cried throughout the hearing, her body shook constantly and she dabbed at her eyes. Several times she turned to her parents, seated behind her in the courtroom, and mouthed, “I love you.”
[From MSNBC, thanks Diva for the tip]
That’s a real bummer for Paris. Nearly double the time she could have done with none of the recognition and kudos she would have received if she didn’t weasel out of a shorter sentence.
