Here are some photos of Taylor Swift in London yesterday, going into the BBC Radio offices. There were rumors that Swifty was invited to the VF Oscar party this year, but she didn’t attend because she didn’t want to run into Katy Perry, her nemesis. I think it’s far more likely that Swifty was invited but she was in NYC and then London, and she didn’t want to just fly into LA to party. She was in London for last night’s ELLE Style Awards, plus maybe (?) the BRIT Awards, which are this evening. Taylor’s not performing, but she might be attending and presenting, I guess. She’s also doing a lot of press – she’s done several radio interviews over the past few days, and some of the quotes are interesting. Some highlights:
She thinks Ed Sheeran is scrappy: “Ed’s scrappier that’s for sure! Are you talking about in a fight? Ed could beat anyone in a fight, just because he’s like a little street urchin! But only sensitive when writing songs, but in a conversation about competition or anything – scrappy!”
But Sam Smith will win all the BRITs: “If we’re talking about the BRITs it’s Sam’s year, he’s having an amazing year, I love him. Ed’s one of my best friends so I want him to win something too. I think they’re both gonna win stuff right?!”
She’s anxious: “Also my reality, even when I’m not dreaming, is peppered with lots of anxiety. There’s a dream that, any time I’m ‘paparazzid’ out, which is a lot, I have dreams that night that they’re in my room taking pictures of me while I’m sleeping! So I’ll find myself smiling in my sleep, because I think there are people in my room taking pictures of me. Not smiling because I’m happy, smiling because I think people are taking pictures of me!”
Her feelings about Beyonce: “I love her more than the normal amount. I try really hard not to like let [my fandom] get creepy. I just really like channel it into a joyous admiration and appreciation.”
At one point, when she was talking about her anxiety about paparazzi sneaking into her room to take photos of her, the host joked that it must be horrifying for whoever is in bed with her. Swifty said: “No-ones ever… it’s horrifying for the cats…! No one’s ever in my bedroom with me. Don’t believe what you read!” Do you believe that? When Karlie Kloss sleeps over, Karlie gets her own room? Karlie doesn’t sleep in the same bed as Swifty? What’s the point of having a BFF if you’re not staying up in the same bed, gossiping and eating potato chips? As for her nightmares… eh, you can’t control your subconscious, even if Tay-Tay does love to set up some paparazzi photo shoots.
And finally, here’s something nice: Swifty donated $50,000 to New York City schools – it was part of the proceeds from her song “Welcome to New York,” and she had promised to make a donation when she became New York’s Global Welcome Ambassador.

Okay…then why the staged pap walks? I know the paps are annoying to every celeb but she in particular engages them so I’m not buying this from her.

Lol what kills about her pap strolls is that its literally from door to car everytime, nothing eventful ever happens so I really don’t get the point.I guess its the fashion.
If there’s no one in her bed, how does she know she smiles in her sleep?

Honestly though, sometimes you just know. I’ve smiled / laughed / talked in my sleep before and I know as soon as I jolt awake what I’ve been doing even though no-one else is in the room. I once woke up with a big old grin on my face because I’d been dreaming that I won a ridiculously huge lotto and was in the process of buying a home in Tahiti. 😛
Wow, I’d want to go back to sleep on that last dream. I smile, talk, laugh, cry and occasionally scream in my sleep, and I often wake up enough at the end to know I’m doing it. Once I dreamed I was diving into a lake and I woke up with my head at the wrong end of the bed. My poor husband.
I’ve woken up crying, woken up laughing, woken up with a big grin on my face… There’s that 30 seconds right after you wake up where you remember what was just happening and why. Then, some weird memory sucking device infiltrates your brain and sucks it all out. Dreams are cray cray.
We did this exercise in school where we wrote down our dreams as soon as we woke up, and the more you did it, the more detail you could remember. It was fun, but it took up a lot of time, so I quit doing it, and now I don’t remember them very well.
Kinda stop reading Kasier’s post on Taylor Swift because she’s so petty and passive aggressive example of the pictures she picked, Taylor making face , that’s the picture.
But at least get the facts right, Taylor Swift is performing at the Brits, she went to the Elle event because she won Women of the Year by Elle , notice no pictures of that event.
And was crowned in London , the Global Recording Artist of the year by international trade group IFPI. The annual award honors the year’s top artist across physical sales, downloads and streaming worldwide.
She’s smiling not because of her anxiety, but because she loves the attention. Girl lives for pap walks. Also, what is she doing press for? Her album came out awhile ago.
I smile and love attention also. Me and Taylor aren’t the only. Paparazzi have been known to take pictures no matter where. They’re ridiculous. She’s doing press because she’s Taylor Swift and fans want her to. It’s not like she’s a has been or an unknown person
Well I’m glad you and Taylor are so much alike. I’m just pointing out that maybe people wouldn’t find her so annoying if she would take a break once in awhile.
Probably for her world tour, which is starting in the next two months or so.
I don’t get the dislike and scorn of her. She seems harmless to me, sort of corny, but pretty true to herself.
I agree! She’s better then harmless too- she’s known for giving inspirational, anti-bullying messages to her fans. Donating to schools = awesome. I like her & think she’s a gold role model for girls & women. I just outed myself didn’t I?

I think some see her as an artificially colored Cheez-it, GNAT, with 24/7 promotional commercials. That can work a person’s nerves.

I agree. She may not be Barbra Streisand, but she doesn’t pretend to be and she does have a good nack for writing heartfelt songs. She seems pretty harmless all together, except maybe for John Mayer, who totally deserves that song she wrote about him lol

I don’t dislike her and people are mean about her which I find annoying but she seems very tightly wound to me, very into controlling and projecting a specific, almost doll like, persona. I find her interesting and I assume she’s talented although I don’t listen to her music, so I don’t know.

Why would Karli Kloss sleep over? I know they’re friends but Karli has a husband. My friends and I stopped having sleepovers after HS ended. I’m in my late 20s now. My married friends definitely aren’t about to sleepover when they have a husband at home.

I’m 26 and I still have sleepovers. I don’t see the big deal, they can be fun.
I’m pushing 40 and I’ll still have the occasional sleepover with a girlfriend and definitely my sister. When husbands are gone or out of town, its the perfect opportunity to have a girlfriend over and chain watch something on Netflix and drink too much wine and talk all night without anyone having to stress. I absolutely love the company of other women and having quality women for girlfriends is a pleasure and a privilege for me. I think that’s what I like about her. She is unapologetically feminine and loves other women. Sure she needs to grow up, and she can be a little “Im so cute” annoying, but I really appreciate the emphasis she puts on valuing other women in her life because that seems like a quality that is lost in a lot of women today.
