Here are some assorted photos of Jessica Simpson and her husband Eric Johnson, out and about in New York City this weekend and attending the Teen Vogue 10th Annual Fashion University event Friday night. I haven’t covered Jessica in a while, it feels like. Part of it is that Jessica isn’t really “scandalous” these days and part of it is that she seems to have done a lot of growing up pretty quickly once she became a mom. I feel like after her two back-to-back pregnancies, Jessica was like “Whoa, I need a better system for my life.” She lost the baby weight, she seems to have gone on some birth control (she’s been saying that she’s probably done having kids) and she focusing solely on her fashion empire.
Quick question though: does Jessica’s face look really different to anyone else in the orange-jacket photos? Is it just weird styling? Is it that I haven’t looked at her photos in a few months? Or did she get some work done? I’m erring more on the side of crappy styling and weight loss. Those two things combined make her face look really different.
Meanwhile, Jessica was named the “dean speaker” for Teen Vogue’s Fashion University. A few days ago, Jess appeared on the Today Show to promote the role. You know, I have a great deal of affection for Jessica (she’s absolutely harmless and rather sweet), but she’s a terrible interview. I feel like she spaced out and forgot what she was supposed to say about five different times.

She says people “just can relate to me” because she’s been “all kinds of sizes.” She said being married to Eric is “unbelievable” and “I couldn’t be more in love, and he’s given me two of the best … blessings I could possibly imagine.” I do hope that Jessica and Eric are happy. I sort of misjudged him, but only slightly. I thought he was just going to be a total K-Fed, but I think Jessica was sincerely looking for a man who was just going to support her work and be a good father, and Eric seems like he meets that criteria.

Nope…she’s had work done, it is too obvious. She doesn’t look bad, though her facial features have always struck me as very manly.
1. She can’t close her lips, she could use less plumping, fish pout is NOT sexy.
2. Yes, props for losig that crapload of weight, but she had her facial and neck skin pulled to make it look firm, there is absolutely no sagging even though she sported a noticeable double chin before the weight loss. That is not natural.
3. Her eyes are about to turn into googly eyes…not sure if it’s the effect of the makeup but it looks like she’s about to lose control of her peepers…maybe she just had some extra alcohol..
4. What’s with the boob veins? Yikes!
As the owner of boob veins galore, can i just say that is what happens when fair skinned blondes have REAL breasts. They need blood supply and therefore veins must go there. Maybe you have only see implants with no blood needed to feed living tissue before? Its funny because most people get snarky when too much work is done ie: your point about her lips, however when something is natural it is not good enough either.
I’m no fan of Jessica Simpson, but this style is very throwback and cute—as well as looking good on her. I can live with this.

I agree, it must be the weight loss; to me she looks so much like she did when she first started singing, before her weight gain. Very pretty.
Not a fan of Jessica, either…she’s about as inarticulate as anyone I’ve ever listened to, BUT she does look really cute here.
Yeah, she looks amazing here. Even though she mostly seems like a decent person, I can’t exactly call her “harmless.” At the height of her popularity, I was appalled at how she almost single-handedly brought the “dumb blond with big boobs who can’t tell fish from chicken–but ain’t she cuuuuute?” thing back into vogue. Sure, it never really went away, but she beat the dead horse all the same!
I think she looks awesome– I’m getting a “Woodstock Barbie” vibe here, and I mean that in the best way. I don’t think she’s had anything done to her face recently, other than fresh lip injections. But I’m pretty sure she’s been having them plumped for a while. No judgement from me, she looks fierce and seems happy. Go Jess.
I agree on the lip injections. Other than that she looks like she did in her Dukes of Hazzard days, so I don’t think she’s done anything else. Just weight loss.
I’ve actually thought for a while that she’s had some work done. I can’t put my finger on what though. Obviously the lip injections, but I’m thinking maybe a brow lift or very minor nose job? I know the weight loss is affecting her appearance but something about her face has seemed different recently.
I thought it might be her nose, too, but the bump seems to remain. Is the nose tip refined? Are her cheekbones more prominent? IDK, she looks beautiful, but somehow much older than she should.

I think motherhood and happiness looks good on her.

I’ve said it before but she looks better with little-to-no-makeup. She’s really pretty and doesn’t need the heavy black liner, etc.

I don’t why people keep saying Jessica’s fashion Empire, the fashion Empire belongs to, The Vince Camuto Group, they pay Jessica a percentage for using her name.
And the line is successful, because they’re real designers behind the Brand. Ever wonder why her line is more successful than other celebrities.
Jessica own clothing style would not sell at Walmart, nowadays she is hitting more than missing.
Posh fronts like she designs her line, she may have ideas, but some else is putting pen to paper, to get the clothes to the store.
Ummmm even the best have teams and sit downs its the whole industry. Not one person ever designs lol. There also is a late interview from vince explaining that Jessica is fully invested in her line more then many realize or give credit for..now of course we could be cynical and say thats just vince or we could look at all his interviews on Jessica and take them for what he is saying. Jessica is far more involved then anyone knows or cares to give credit for but she gets it.. What I find fascinating is Camuto was never interested in taking any other celeb and he has had many trying. Jessica was like family to him and very close
I think there’s a balance between the two. Not every celebrity line is successful, and Jessica and Tina (from what I’ve heard it’s actually far more Tina than Jessica) definitely have some involvement. It’s clear they understand the business and genuinely like what they’re doing. BUT people talk about Jessica’s business empire as though she’s running things and designing things, where in reality a lot of that success derives from the group that she partnered with to license her name. Jessica likes fashion but has no training, no design experience and not even a college education, so it’s unrealistic to expect her to be more than involved figurehead – which is still more than what a lot of celebs do. And it’s very clearly working, so more power to them.
I feel like Jessica’s clothes do reflect her style and personality. I’m sure someone as business savvy as she is has final approval on all designs.

I couldn’t put my finger on it, but you’re right! The makeup’s a little too heavy and the style is older than her age. She is so pretty naturally, she doesn’t need all that makeup.

I was hoping to find out, too, because I really like it. You’d think for her brand’s sake it would be one of her own, but I have never seen one of hers be so appealing and not cheesey.
Pretty sure it’s dolce and gabbana. They have bags in that style, so not the most affordable, unfortunately.
I’ve had good luck with basic shoes and boots from her line, and I have a pair of simple sunglasses, but I don’t usually find any of the other clothing or accessories appealing, they’re usually too busy in one way or another.
I have always thought she was darling and have affection for her.

Yes,she lost weight but her cheekbones look more rounded not chisled, so I am guessing fillers. she is not 22 so roundness is not natural anymore. Her face looks much different than before when she first lost weight so its not just that.
She also looks like she is on something which isn’t surprising. Most of Hollywood is on drugs, PX or illegal so take your pick but she looks like she’s on some px.
Her face *does* look chiselled to me, nothing like a round puffy filler face (see Lohan, Lara Flynn Boyle, Megan Fox for filler face). If she is doing bo/fillers it’s very subtle. imo Jess just has good cheekbones I think she looks gorgeous!

No fringe. None. Please sop. I don’t like her styling, and she doesn’t need so much makeup, in my opinion. Because her bone structure is stunning. The only thing that doesn’t look quite right is the lip area. And the fringe.
