Duchess Kate wears $63 ASOS dress to meet kids in Woolwich: cute & fun?

wenn22317477

As I mentioned in yesterday’s Duchess Kate post, Kate isn’t done with her public schedule. It’s surprising, isn’t it? I think most of us expected Kate to slow down once she got into the final stretch of her second pregnancy, but to her credit, she’s still clocking in a significant number of public appearances (“a significant number” = maybe three a week). Still, we wanted her to work more and she’s really doing it. Credit to her. And to the new Kensington Palace PR guy, who really seems to have gotten through to Kate in particular.

Kate was out and about in Woolwich today, visiting the Brookhill Children’s Centre and meeting with lots of kids and volunteers. Good for her. Kate also wore a new dress! Yay for something we haven’t seen before! Kate’s polka-dotted black and white wrap-dress is by ASOS. Apparently, it only costs $63. That’s VERY affordable. A few things: Kate has a real penchant for wrap dresses even while pregnant. The style of this dress reminds me of her Issa-loving pre-marriage days. The dress is also just a tad shorter than it should be (and she had been doing so well with her hemlines!). Also: chica loves polka dots and I just don’t get it. But that’s my thing, I fully admit that. I never think polka dots look sophisticated. But for Kate, for her style, this is a win. As for the black coat (which she actually TOOK OFF when she went inside, shock!), according to one of the royal correspondents, “The Duchess of Cambridge’s black coat today was made by her private dressmaker. She has had it for a while.”

What else? I think it’s an interesting choice she consistently makes, to wear black clothing around children. Maybe it’s practical – if sticky-handed kids stain her dress, it won’t show. Maybe. And she wore her hair down and I don’t have a problem with it. It’s a daytime event, she was mostly inside, so why not have her hair down? You can read more about the event here.

She really doesn’t look that far along to me..

    • caitlin says:

I was thinking the same thing, especially looking at some photos of celebrities who are due fairly soon. Even in Hollywood where even during pregnancy “thin is in”, I’ve yet to see someone at Kate’s stage of pregnancy who is that small. Mila Jovavich is quite tall and is due very soon but she is huge compared to Kate.

      • lisa2 says:

I know every woman carries differently. I have friends that get huge and other are just all baby and don’t get that big anywhere but their baby bump.

but she doesn’t look 8 months to me.. I think she looks great though. It seems she has been more active since she has been pregnant than she was when she wasn’t.

      • caitlin says:

Speaking of “active”, I was astounded to read that Mila has been doing 5-6 mile “steep hill” hikes every day during the “home stretch” of her pregnancy. Seriously, I”m not pregnant and I can’t fathom doing that!!

    • Yeses says:

Some women carry small, with both my pregnancies I didn’t even need maternity clothing, barely had a bump both times and my girls were 8.7 and 8.8 lbs , does help that I am 5’9″.
I remember running into a friend from HS on the day I was due with the first, and she mentioned I looked pregnant and asked how far along I was, small bumps happen.

      • OriginalTessa says:

My sister is 5’9″ and had just the teeniest little bump until the 8th month, and then it got a bit bigger, and then the baby was out and all was back to normal. She was big for like a week. She’s probably 15lbs heavier than Kate in day to day life though. Kate’s quite thin.

      • Janna says:

Ugh, so jealous. I’m 5’9, too, and currently only 5 months along, and I look like Kate does in these pics.

      • AustenGirl says:

I’m 5’1, and I was pregnant from my chin to my knees! My babies were 8.9 and 8.4 lbs.

      • Ghoulish_moose says:

I carried small all through my pregnancy till the last month. That’s when I popped a little bit. I’m 5’5 and my baby girl was 5lb 13oz when she was born. Full term and everything and she was perfectly healthy. She was a little dot bless her =)

    • Jax says:

I thought that all through her first pregnancy. Then, finally, in her ninth month, she had a very nice bump sticking out there. But once it finally popped out there we hardly saw her until the birth. I bet, except for the morning sickness, she has really comfortable pregnancies. All that torso room gives her lots of space for the baby so she probably doesn’t feel as packed and miserable as shorter women do. But she does look very tired here. I’m sure lovely George has something to do with that. I bet he is never still.

P.S. I think she looks incredible too. As for her showing anything when she kneels down? This dress is so loose that it will just settle around her lower legs like a cape when she gets down with the kiddos.

    • Lahdidahbaby says:

She has an extremely long torso (which I envy), so even though she’s thin she carries a pregnancy well. if a woman is short-waisted (like me) it’s much more obvious when you’re carrying a baby, especially if you’re thin, because there’s nowhere for the bump to go. I showed the next morning. Okay, I exaggerate. But I really envy Kate her long body because clothes work very nicely on that sort of frame.

  2. StormsMama says:

I may be alone on this
    But
I think she looks incredible. She is super pregnant and
Wearing heels! and her makeup and hair look lovely (if not new or fresh)
And it just makes to cringe to think we would pick her a part at this point- girl can’t wear yoga pants and you know she wants to!

    • Brin says:

      I agree, she looks great.

    • GoodNamesAllTaken says:

I think she looks great, too – a little tired, which is totally to be expected from what I hear about pregnancy. I can’t walk in heels that high on a non-pregnant normal day, so I can’t imagine.

      • TheOriginalKitten says:

She does look REALLY tired-and who could blame her?

        She looks nice.

      • HH says:

Kate looks great. I’m pretty sure half of ye reason is because she has weight on her. Aside from her stomach, everything else on her has returned to her pre-engagement, healthy weight. She looks more youthful and fresh-faced, and I don’t think it’s just that pregnancy glow.

      • FLORC says:

In other photos she looks not tired at all. Also, very smiley and there’s less of a damp and gray tone to the pictures.

        HH
A little weight goes a long way. Much heathier.

    • Nk868 says:

Agreed! She looks beautiful! And I don’t think the dress is too short- and inch or two above the knee? Just because she’s pregnant doesn’t mean she needs to be matronly!

      • AntiSocialButterfly says:

Waay too short. I sense another breeze- related flashing incident in her near future.

      • notasugarhere says:

Cute and yes, too short both for royal protocol and for bending/crouching down dealing with kids. Black for kids is off to me (and all-black is against protocol). You can be stylish, not matronly, and still have skirts at the knee.

      • LNG says:

Based on the pictures shown in the DM article she had no trouble crouching down to the floor to interact with the kids.

      • notasugarhere says:

LNG that is good development for her. Usually she bends over at the waist to talk to children, causing the back of her skirt to rise up.

    • bluhare says:

I think she looks great too.

I was thinking I needed to get the wiglet wagon out for FLORC and me to take a spin looking at the first picture (a LOT of hair!) but I’m wondering if it’s just pregnancy bouncin’ and behavin’ hair.

      • Deedee says:

She sure can’t keep her hands out of that bouncin’ and behavin’ hair. It looks very nice when she steps out of the car, but later it is gets disheveled, possibly from all the preening. If I was her hairdresser, that would drive me nuts.

      • vava says:

Seems as if whenever that hair is down, her hands are in it. It’s a very distracting habit, one I doubt we’ll see her stop anytime soon.

      • LAK says:

B: I think we need to David Attenborough that hair. The first pictures that came in, I thought she was wearing a wiglet for sure, but her hair looks flat when she’s exiting, so it could be a salon bounce that’s giving her all that thick hair??!!

      • FLORC says:

Haha Bluhare Hair was the 1st thing I noticed!

I was going to note how her hair has shrunk from a few (wiglet) days ago. At most i’d say maybe extensions, but it could just be hormones and a blowout. She did get her color touched up so i’m leaning towards blowout.

Still, her hair mass has greatly reduced compared to the last few weeks.
I have some links of thin and thick hair, but they never make it.
If you search Middleton Feathers In Hair you’ll get some good examples of Kate pre engagement with natural hair that had the curls at the end.

    • Crumpet says:

I think she looks really good too.

    • Bucky says:

I’m not even pregnant and I’d usually rather be in yoga pants! I’m lucky that I work in an office with a relaxed dress code because all winter I wore leggings with boots and tunics and it was totally acceptable.

I think she looks fantastic here, and the polka dots are cute. I’m 31 and I would totally wear that dress. Also, it’s not short. The dress I’m wearing at the office today is the same length and I can bend down just fine without showing anything.

  3. Tristan says:

This pregnancy really suits her. She looks great

  4. Liz says:

I have a deep love of polka dot dresses so I like this outfit.

  5. Livan says:

I love polka dots, and wrap dresses are great when you are pregnant (or breastfeeding). I am due shortly after Kate and I would so wear that!

  6. Betti says:

I hope she keeps this up after the birth and not disappear for a year like she did after George. We won’t see her for a while so get lots in now, plus Chuck starts his US tour today – wonder if she’ll make any appearances during it.

Kudos to the new PR guy – he’s already started to make a difference, now if he can get Willy to pull his finger out then it really will be a miracle.

I’m going to try and give her a break – don’t disappoint me Duchess!

    • LAK says:

William is shadowing HM today. He attended her ambassador’s audience where an ambassador presents credentials.

According to reporters, it’s the first such type of audience he’s attended.

      • Betti says:

        Well, miracles do happen! LOL

Hopefully this is just the beginning and that they are sincere with their new ‘can do’ attitude. Maybe all the press shading has finally shamed them into action.

He should have started shadowing his grandmother a long time ago.

      • jwoolman says:

I imagine that if the Queen wanted him to shadow her before, he would have been doing it. They said long ago that they were going to give W&K time to deal with new marriage/babies and so my bet is that they’re on schedule. She’s produced the heir and is working on the spare, which was her primary function after all. I doubt that anything is unplanned with The Firm.

      • notasugarhere says:

There was never any statement from HM that they were going to be given time off to deal with marriage and babies. There was a statement from William’s office that Middleton was going to focus on being a full-time housewife and military spouse, but she was papped three times a week in London while he was in Wales. She also refused to participate in any of the military spouse activities. The “time off” idea was all made up by the press spinning off their fabrications of what really happened re. Malta.

  7. caitlin says:

I ‘m curious about the pricing details of her clothes. How do we know that she is wearing a £35 dress and not a true designer dress? Do her people release all the details or does someone just spot a similar high street version and attribute that to Kate?

    • Betti says:

Info from her press team – they know that people will want to know who and what she is wearing to events so its part of their briefing to the press pack.

      • Beth says:

This is genuinely befuddling to me. Just like I cannot understand the herd mentality which prompts people to rush and buy clothes, shoes, bags and such which are worn/used by royals or celebs.

      • bluhare says:

I’m with you on that one, Beth.

      • FLORC says:

        With you as well Beth.
People are also not taking into account her clothes if off the rack are not off the rack to her. They are tailored and altered.

Peronally, I love dot patterns. They break up the shape of things. Then I get the clothes with dots, put them on and wonder why I thought this looks good? It just gves me a headache.

    • L says:

Her press team generally releases it. There’s also a great website called what kate wore that susses out the information when they don’t.

    • notasugarhere says:

What’s often shown is that it may be off-the-rack but has been tailored. Like her custom pieces that she has changed (higher waist, removing pockets, changing design, adding detail). It may start out at one price but in reality cost much more. And to echo L, What Kate Wore and HRHDuchessKate are good at finding the details.

      • inthekitchen says:

Not only that but it’s clearly stated the coat is bespoke (and made by her private dresser…which we were told she didn’t have!). So she’ll get credit for wearing a $60 dress – and that’s what gets played up in the media and screaming headlines – but then pairs it with a $2000 coat, $600 shoes, $1000 clutch, etc. Not to mention the time she wore an $80,000 necklace. So…frugal she definitely is not.

  8. BendyWindy says:

I love polka dots. I don’t care if it’s twee.

  9. Judyk says:

She looks young and cute…love the coat and love the polka dots. I think she normally looks dowdy for such a young woman and like that she’s dressing her age here. Also love her shoes.

  10. GingerCrunch says:

I’m always underwhelmed by her shoe game. Captain Obvious, anyone?

  11. bettyrose says:

That dress is stolen straight from my closet.

    • Cankles says:

Mine too! About half of my clothes are from ASOS, and many are polka dots and/or wrap dresses. You have great taste, obviously! 😀

  12. vava says:

I like the dress, the length is fine I think.

I suppose the coat is OK, but I am one of those people who think coats and jackets should be able to be closed, and this one obviously can’t be at this stage.

    • Olenna says:

Agree about the dress. The polka dot one she wore when pregnant with George was too short and flimsy. If fact, I think it caught a wind gust. I’m a stickler about coats not closing or fitting, and this one is just hanging there like an odd accessory. I think she should have just left it in the car.

  13. Tiffany says:

Dress material looks thin and hemline too short. Any other time she will wear a buttoned up coat and now it is not. She was looking to flash to get Bill’s attention. Nope. Nope. Nope.

  14. Kate looks great! Head to toe great!

  15. Laura says:

It’s Woolwich not woolrich, that made me think her dress was made of wool or something

    • bluhare says:

In the US Woolrich is a brand of outdoor-type clothing. I live here but I’m from the UK and I am embarrassed to say I didn’t catch it. Damn you, Woolrich!

      • FLORC says:

I have a closet full of woorich plaid shirts! They’re soft and light and so comfy! Perfect for yard work too!.

  16. Chrissy says:

Just once I would like to see her wear slacks and some nice jacket especially in this instance where she would be meeting/ interacting with kids. Especially in some colour other than black. Here, the dress is shorter and when bending or crouching a wardrobe malfunction is just waiting to happen.

    • TessD says:

Maybe she doesn’t like the way she looks in slacks? I love wearing slacks and hate turtlenecks. So I wear slacks and never wear turtlenecks. What’s the problem?

  17. Ms. Turtle says:

Love the polka dots myself, and if they’re not sophisticated, so much the better to wear them when visiting children. I think she looks tired.

And on the release of clothing info, even if her press team didn’t release the information, there are hoards of bloggers who already are on the case. It’s amazing to me (because I follow some on facebook) how quickly someone will respond with exactly what she’s wearing, even before it’s officially released.

    • MinnFinn says:

Some of her fans race to buy what she wore on certain days b/c pieces have been known to sell out the day she wore them.

      • Ms. Turtle says:

I see nothing wrong with that. If someone is a fan of hers and feels that much more similar to her because they bought a $60 dress like she wore? Where’s the harm in that? I think with all the anti-monarchy ppl around, they should be thrilled she buys some high street fashion. Populist rhetoric and all that.

  18. Erm says:

She looks really nice. I think the smaller than expected bump is because she has a really long torso, so there’s more room for a baby in there without it needing to go out. I’m short waisted and people were asking if I was carrying twins, or was going to give birth soon at 6 months.

    • holly says:

While she does have quite a long torso, she’s well known for her restricted eating habits and fairly intense exercise regimen.

  19. captain says:

If I had a private dressmaker, they would be sewing all my dresses, with the finest materials like cashmere or silk or angora. Not some Asos polyester. I have heard there is a difference though: if a dressmaker makes coats, they are not qualified to make dresses and vice versa.

    • bondbabe says:

Yeah, I would too. But if Kate had EVERYTHING privately made for her, people would be in an uproar and shred her for that.

      • captain says:

You’ re right, I didn’t think about it )) She’s got to promote British labels as well, so Asos it is ))

  20. Nikki says:

I think solid black for meeting kids isn’t ideal, but the polka dots give it more lightheartedness, so I think it’s fine. I DO think she may have to be concerned with sticky/messy fingers, so it seems ideal. She looks fabulous to me, and though she has help and is privileged, I still think it’s a lot to be scrutinized every second while pregnant, then go home to a toddler and a husband who acts like one. I for one will give her a big pass if she wants to take a hefty chunk of time to be PRIVATE and off-duty after the birth.

    • Becks says:

      Nikki:

You think “she has to be concerned with sticky/messy fingers…”. That seems to be giving her more credit than she deserves. Did she not just recently chose to wear white to an event where kids were finger-painting? (Someone correct me if I am wrong as I am not entirely positive about this)

And the New York trip, there was some talk about how her choice of coat colours seemed strangely backward – wearing a dark colour on the first day to greet some kids and the mayor’s wife, and then bright fuschia to the 9/11 site visit where everyone else was dressed in navy and black.

It’s a bit head-scratching, particularly for someone who has a team of people advising her.

  21. Citresse says:

Nice outfit, the shoes and accessories work well. My only criticism is again the hair. Some women reach an age where such long hair really begins to drag them down and in Kate’s case she’s reached that age.
The majority of you yesterday noted how Kate’s up do really looks elegant.
She can still have the long hair with elegance. It just needs a three to four inch cut with more layers ie long layers so the look still looks long however the look will be much more polished esp when worn down with hats.
The long hair is dragging her face down, and Kate has wonderful features.
Maybe after the birth of her second child she will opt for a new look in terms of her hair? Some women find they need a new hairstyle for ease, after the birth of another child due to increased work load. We’ll see.

    • GoodNamesAllTaken says:

I so agree about the hair. Just three inches. It could still be long, but not high school hair.

    • notasugarhere says:

CP Mary (Denmark) cut her hair shorter around the time Isabella was born, and I thought it was a cute and flattering cut for her. Kate would look much better with the hair at shoulder-length.

      • Citresse says:

Yes Notasugarhere, Kate’s mother can wear the shorter look, and besides it doesn’t need to be that short. I think Kate doesn’t want to change her hair at all. She tried a little change while in first trimester with George- I forget the appearance- but she wore a green dress. Anyway she had tried a cut with heavier, shorter bangs. The new look drew a lot of criticism therefore I think Kate has grown leery as to another new haircut. So for now it looks like either: up- do elegance or long hair sausage leftovers.

      • FLORC says:

        Citresse
That Green Dress at the sports awards? It was largely believed that was a full on wig. There are some photos where the hair appears to slide to the side as only a wig can and scalp can’t. She did get those actual bangs though there was a slight difference. They just weren’t right for her face.

I don’t hate her hair here. She just needs to keep it out of reach and out of her face.

      • Citresse says:

        FLORC
Why a wig? That seems very excessive in terms of style. I think back to earlier times but wigs now are mainly for celebs escaping paps etc…….

      • FLORC says:

        Citresse
Wrong girl to ask. I’m all about not messing with hair.
Lots of celebs do wear wigs though. Sometimes it’s just easier.

  22. AuroraO says:

Who was it that said eventually a woman has to choose between her face and her body? Kate has a wonderful figure and I wish I looked like her even at 8 months pregnant. But her smoking and diet habits have taken a toll on her face.

  23. lucy2 says:

I like the dress, but agree it could be a bit longer if she needs to bend down with kids.
I don’t get the “don’t wear black clothing around kids” thing. Lots of people wear black often, around kids or not. Obviously going full Goth might not be the best idea, but a black and white polka dot dress?

    • notasugarhere says:

It is British royal protocol. HM is old-school and wants all-black reserved for periods of mourning. Black is still considered somber by many, while bright colors around kids is cheerful.

  24. I like Kate’s hair (I wish mine looked like that!) I know it’s an unpopular opinion around here, but no one seems to mind Jane Seymour’s locks, and she’s 30 years older than Kate. I love short hair on other people but it looks gawdawful on me. As for the length of the dress, I think it was purchased earlier in her pregnancy and the tummy is drawing it up an inch or two above where it would’ve been earlier in her pregnancy.

  25. Thinker says:

Anyone up for a game of guess the gender and birthdate?

    I think they’re having a girl on April 21.

    • NOWI'VESAIDIT says:

      Girl. April 8.

    • MinnFinn says:

      Boy, May 17

      • Citresse says:

May 17? You must really believe William pulled a trick with press re- due date. It wouldn’t be the first time a well known individual played with the press.

      • Thinker says:

Kate said “mid to late” April and palace confirmed a late April due date. She could be a few days late, putting her in early May, but I’d think a doctor would intervene if she went 17 + days past her expected due date.

Also since we’ve added names to the guessing, I think a daughter will be Charlotte or Alexandra. We already know they like the name Alexander and wanted to use it for George, why not use the feminine version for the spare. Bonus: it’s already a family name.

      • FLORC says:

        Thinker
Those 2 girl names are off limits. Several posters here had laid claim to them.

I think it’s more discussed what the middle names will be. It’s a topic of debate if a more regal vversion of Carole (Caroline?) and Ofcourse Diana will be there.

And I think Georgina or Georgette are lovely name.

      • Thinker says:

@FLORC. I don’t see them naming their daughter Georgette when their son is George.

I don’t understand why I can’t guess a name just because someone else agrees that it’s a likely choice. They really only have like 10 options anyway.

      • FLORC says:

        Thinker
Sarcasm is tough out in text form. I dind’t say you couldn’t guess. Just a joke that people here called “dibs”. Not literally took the names for themselves.

Most people have that name for their child they don’t tell anyone so it doesn’t get copied and become too popular.

I misread the George part of your comment regarding female versions of George.

  26. vava says:

For a ‘royal’ appearance, that neckline is showing too much at times. Anyone else could wear that, but a royal should not publicly. She should have pinned it closed.

    • notasugarhere says:

When she wore a wrap dress last time around (a gray one?) she wore a camisole to cover up a bit. Interesting that she didn’t do that here too. That’s the one thing I didn’t like about Beatrice’s cute bright green dress – if she’s going to bend down around kids a camisole would be a good idea.

    • Becks says:

The funny thing is that, with that MASS of hair in the way, I can’t even SEE her neckline. Couldn’t tell you if it’s too low or anything- all I can see is hair and curls.

I think she is very stuck on looking feminine for William, and as the world has seen, this is not a person with the strongest feminist views. Long hair will always = womanly to her, maybe?

  27. Alexa says:

Duchess Kate looks GREAT! She’s beautiful, friendly, obliging, young, healthy . . . there is not ONE thing anyone can criticize her for. That’s why everyone’s inventing things like “the hemline’s 1.453235 inches too short,” or “her hair needs to be 2.78543234 inches shorter.” (For some reason I suddenly feel compelled to defend her now . . . )

    • holly says:

agree that picking apart & analyzing her clothing is a little much, but I beg to differ on your other point “there is not One thing you can criticize her for”. Seriously? How about lacking a work ethic and not pulling her weight? Compared to the late Diana and certain other royals — Anne, Sophie come to mind — she falls far short and don’t use pregnancy as an excuse because this has been the case since the ring appeared on her finger.

    • Jib says:

Really? Tell me about her accomplishments?? She has a pretty smile? Not an accomplishment. She waves nicely??? Not an accomplishment. She holds flowers well??? Not an accomplishment.

This woman is a throwback to the 1950s, where women were pretty, proper and “seen but not heard.” Have you ever heard her say anything? Anything at all, whether intelligent or stupid?? Nope. She’s not allowed and doesn’t seem to want to.

Pretty, pleasant, inoffensive. That is what people admire. Sad how far we women have not come from the time of Gloria Steinem.

  28. Laura says:

Catherine looks beautiful in these photos. I like her dress and really like her coat. It’s nice to see her out but I hope she is able to relax and prepare herself for the delivery of her second baby soon.

As for a guess on the baby’s gender, birthdate and name:

    Girl, April 24th, Margaret.

    • Citresse says:

      ok maybe a trend today:

      Boy, April 17, Albert

however if Kate and William accessed sperm sorting technology, my new guess is:

      Girl, April 21, Mary

What was Queen Victoria’s demand about the names Victoria and Albert? Did she forbid the use of them, forbid the use of “Victoria” for a future monarch, want all the male heirs to be named Albert?

I always thought it interesting that both Andrew (Andrew Albert Christian Edward) and Edward (Edward Antony Richard Louis) have the name “Edward”. There is already Marguerite Armstrong-Jones (HM’s great niece), so I don’t know if they’d pick that as a first name.

Not sure, but I’ve heard that about the name Victoria, and you know William is a rebel so that name of a female spare may be something far away from tradition such as Princess Brandy 🙂
no just kidding- won’t be that far from tradition.
But perhaps Princess Henrietta? No, not likely either. I think I’m keeping my bet on Mary.

      • Hazel says:

Victoria’s oldest daughter was named Victoria, she was known as Vickie within the family. As for naming–a king or queen can choose to be styled any name they want, so the name given by the parents doesn’t necessarily mean anything. I think the only name the BRF will never use is John. No more King Johns.

    • Lucky Charm says:

I think it’s a girl, April 25th, named Eleanor (Frances Elizabeth). But I am never right about these things. Up until the dr. announced I had a beautiful newborn baby girl, I was positive throughout my entire pregnancy that I was having a boy. And I spent that afternoon in the hospital going through baby name books, looking to find a name for her 🙂

      • notasugarhere says:

Do we get to call her Effie (E.F.E.)? We have Leonor of Spain and Leonore of Sweden, so that would be the third in this generation. (In your situation, I probably would have given up and named her after the doctor who delivered her.)

  29. Dena says:

What is she meeting with the kids about? How many? Which ages? How long was she there? Has she been there before? What’s the intended outcome & impact?

    Thanks!

    • Deedee says:

One of the papers had a blog with timed updates. Her entire visit was about an hour and ten minutes.

  30. Miran says:

What I wouldn’t give to carry like she does. I’m 9 months right now, at 5′ tall and I am enormous. The worst part is even at my height im still all baby. 60 extra lbs all in my stomach and maybe some in my thighs. I look ridiculous.

    • vava says:

      Miran,
I’m sure you are beautiful and you can’t possibly look ridiculous.

Best to you in the upcoming weeks.

  31. Jax says:

One thing that always sticks out to me in photos. Is no one allowed to touch Kate? It seems to me that that man standing at her door as she is getting out of the car could offer her a hand. Even William never offers her a hand or an arm in places where I really think she needs the support for safety’s sake but he never does. Is it some kind of protocol?

    • FLORC says:

This was just discussed in a recent thread. To sum it up (but maybe not well) unless Kate gives permission to be touched because she’s anointed with oil.

      • Feeshalori says:

It’s my understanding that only the monarch at the time of coronation is anointed with the holy oil which gives them an almost divine rank and puts them in a different stratosphere. The other royals probably cannot be touched unless permitted since they’re of royal blood, and so the archaic notion of being of higher rank and privilege than the common folk who populate the world just gets perpetuated.

      • vava says:

        LOL………….
        Kate isn’t anointed just yet.

  32. ilovesunnydaze says:

Beautiful from head to toe! Love her hair here. Apparently she uses Kerastace shampoo which is pricey but worth every penny. I’ve used it for several years and my hair is very healthy and shiney.

    • FLORC says:

Kate has been said by her family hair dresser (Ward) to get custom blends for her hair that are Keratine based. That shampoo you stated is said to give near similar results that anyone can buy and does not have to be custom blended and applied in the salon.

There’s a lot to be said for sulfate free shampoos. I’ve recently switched to Wen though and I never thought 1 thing could be so great on the hair

      • Lucky Charm says:

How is Wen? I’ve seen the infomercials for it on tv, and am curious about trying it.

      • FLORC says:

Amazing. Like I have new hair. And i’ve been using it long enough things should have seen it wear off if it didn’t work. Saves loads of time too.

It’s like using a volume booster as far as results go. I think e eryone should try it.

    • ilovesunnydaze says:

Kerastace has sulfate free shampoo as well. Very nice product.

  33. The Original Mia says:

She looks good. Dress is too short, but seeing as she’s this far along and this is the first time she’s worn a mini, I’ll give her a pass. What was the purpose of this visit again?

  34. JRenee says:

It’s a good look on her!

  35. mel says:

Working herself to the bone. this is really a lot of appearances in the last two weeks.
