Rihanna covered up big time for the Met Gala, but she got her girls out for her afterparty, which was the place to be. Attendees included Jennifer Lawrence, Zoe Kravitz, the Jenner girls, Tyga, Amber Valetta, and Dianna Agron. Page Six says Bradley Cooper was “making out till 3 or 4 in the morning” with Irina Shayk in a corner. One person who was not in attendance? Rita Ora.
I’ve always wondered if Rihanna had a problem with Rita, who I think single-white-femaled Rihanna’s style. The Tom Ford connection illustrates this point. Back in 2012, Tom dressed Rihanna for the Met Gala, and it was an awesome dress. Rihanna referred to Ford as her “baby daddy.” Then something happened. Rihanna and Ford cooled off, and I believe it had something to do with Rihanna never limiting herself to one fashion house. Even the Dior contract hasn’t slowed down Rih’s style. About a year ago, Rita started to cozy up to Ford. He started dressing her for fashion events, and Rita kissed and cuddled him on the red carpet. The display continued at Monday night’s gala. According to The Sun (via The Mirror), Rihanna preemptively banned Rita from her afterparty:

The 27-year-old singer – who held the bash at Up & Down nightclub in New York City following the prestigious event at the Metropolitan Museum of Art on Monda – is said to have refused to give Rita an invitation to her event as the pair reportedly can’t stand each other.
Rihanna – who is signed to the same record label, Roc Nation, as the blonde beauty – is said to have seen the opportunity to ban Rita from the star-studded party as a “chance for revenge” and made it clear she wasn’t to be let into the bash under “any circumstances.”
A source told The Sun newspaper: “She has a real issue with Rita and this was her chance for revenge. She made it clear when organising her party that Rita was not to gatecrash under any circumstances.”
Prior to the party, the Rude Boy singer is also said to have spent the night hanging out with Rita’s former best pal Cara Delevingne, which caused a “very icy” atmosphere between the 24-year-old singer and the supermodel.
However an insider close to Rita has insisted she had no plans to attend the after-party and was happy to spend the evening hanging out with Wrecking Ball singer Miley Cyrus instead.
A source said: “It was very icy between Rita and Cara. They spent the night trying to ignore each other. Rita decided to hang out with Miley Cyrus instead. She was never going to attend Rihanna’s party because she’d made plans to go to another bash.”

Such drama! Is all of this bad blood over Tom Ford? Rita and Rihanna share the same record label too. If this story is true, somethings eventually gonna blow at an event. I wouldn’t mess with Rihanna.

Ciaras comment was over how badly Rihanna had treated her at some party. IIRC Rihanna used her clout to block Ciara from the VIP section of some bash. Ciara was commenting on an already widely reported story.

See I am one of those people that rolled their eyes at Beyonce and Kim K yet doesn’t really have a problem with Rihanna’s nudity and I’m honestly not quite sure why. I think it’s because (from my totally unfounded, probably wrong, impression) it seems like Rihanna actually dresses to have fun and for herself whereas most of say what Kim K wears seems to come from insecurity and wearing what Kanye puts her in. Like in my head Rihanna just kind of gets dressed and then is like ‘oh you can see my nipples? Oh well whatevs, nbd.’ but it seems a lot more false and try hard on other people.

It’s funny how people overdoing something that once was edgy made it so tame. It’s like everyone throwing up a middle finger in photos, it was never particularly bad-ass but at least in the past when people did it they did so because that was their general feeling and attitude.

I always forget about Rita Ora until there’s drama… then in a flash she’s gone again. I know I’ve heard her songs I just can’t place any right now. Is it just me, or is she just remarkably average for a pop singer?

She’s generic. She reminds me of Miley Cyrus in that on her own based solely on her personality as a singer she’s unremarkable.

I doubt there is a rift at all. It probably just doesn’t behoove either of them to focus attention on the fact that their label obviously set out from the beginning to create a UK Riri.
All of these girls have been around so long I forget how young they are. That said they have the relationship maturity of 16 year old (not shading younger girls but there should be growth as we age). Rihanna has the right to protect herself from having to deal with people she doesn’t want to deal with and doing it this way helps avoid the problem of having more potential future problems. I don’t think she’s acting immature at all. I would do the same if I knew that someone is stirring beef with me. Honestly, she is being very classy about it.
