Justin Bieber’s apology face covers Seventeen: ‘I’m sorry if I’ve let you down’

Justin Bieber

The apology face of Justin Bieber, noted human and hopeful angel, covers the June issue of Seventeen. Justin has been apologizing everywhere, and now he’s coming back for his demographic, y’all. This would be a wise strategy (on behalf of manager Scooter Braun) if Swaggy’s demo hadn’t already aged out of the Seventeen market. Perhaps there are some Belieber holdouts, but the teen market is tough one to recapture once parents shut their pocketbooks.

Bieber has made some progress on his probation situation (for early 2014’s Egg-gate). He was too Swaggy to pick up trash, and TMZ reports that his community service hours are still in process. Yet the probation officer says Swaggy has “been cooperative and sincere,” and he’s completed 12 anger management classes. He still needs to stay out of trouble until 2016. Tick tock. Here are more apology excerpts from Seventeen:

On his year of bad behavior: “I was rebelling a little bit. I was getting cockier and cockier. I didn’t have people to check me. I looked back and I was disappointed in myself.”

On making mistakes: “You have to own up to the mistakes. You have to say, I’m sorry if I’ve let you down. I always want to be honest and let people know that those mistakes aren’t who I am. Who I am is someone who really cares about people.”

On relationships: “I need healthy relationships with people I can feel safe with. People I can say whatever to, and I’m not going to be judged. In a girl, I want someone who’s confident in herself and honest. I have to find her very attractive and as someone I can see myself with for the rest of my life.”

On social media haters: “For a while, I was busy looking at my Instagram likes, and if a post didn’t get a certain amount, I was like, Aw, they didn’t like the photo. But there’s always a choice: You can let Instagram or stuff on the Internet affect your day, or you can choose to not be bothered by it.”

[From Seventeen]

Swaggy is wearing me down with all these apologies, but his words are generic and hollow when referring to his offenses. Swaggy himself never goes into specifics. Does he even remember everything he’s done to upset people? He dumped his pet monkey, called a fan “a beached whale,” stumbled out of a brothel, and abused flight attendants. Then there’s the truly risky stuff he did like driving on sidewalks. And let’s not forget his racist videos, whiny depositions, and a refusal to accept blame for taking drugs. If Bieber has truly come to terms with himself for all these acts, then fine. But I feel like he simply did his bathtub baptism and memorized a bad apology script. We’ll see.

LOL. Mostly, we’d have to care for you to let us down.

    • Petee says:

He is trying to make a comeback after all the backlash he is gotten. His career is just gone now.

  2. Cali says:

He’s really not making the transition to adulthood in a good way. He turned into the total d-bag brat and then looks/style-wise, he’s a mess who doesn’t know what to do with his hair, etc. I don’t buy these apologies because he does them and then turns around does something completely idiotic.

    • Dee says:

I hate how the media is facilitating this douche being seen as an angel. It always happens when the white sweetheart falls out of the public’s graces. They demonize his black friends as the main cause of his demise like he doesn’t have free will over the decisions he makes. Chris brown doesn’t the same treatment. So why should this guy? Both bonafide assholes.

  3. Loopy says:

Sincere or not ,someone really reigned him in, he was heading towards Britney meltdown territory,so atleast he is getting his act together.

    • OriginalTessa says:

Lainey made an astute observation when she said she thinks Justin’s turnaround is directly related to Nick Jonas’s success. He’s not doing it because he’s truly repentant, but because someone his age, with his level of talent, is surpassing him in the music world, and he’s doing it all while being a good and respectful guy. I think she’s right.

      • Magpie says:

I think jb is super scared of being a washed up tweener and thus all the apologies. At least he realized it could all go away and not continue on the river of denile like “future oscar winner” Lohan. I’m not saying that he’s not a douche but he grew up enough to know the party could end.

Nick Jonas i think was just the smartest and most talented of the three boys and always knew his real time would come solo.

  4. Beep says:

His wango tango comeback performance showed how untalented he is. He would not make it on the voice.

Maybe if he could really sing & dance he wouldn’t need to apologize so much.

    • swack says:

What is Wango Tango? Just never heard of it before this year. Is it a really big thing or not so big thing or is slowly becoming a big thing? Has it been around very long? So many questions, I know.

      • Jessie says:

It’s a big concert held by the biggest radio station in L.A. It’s been going on for over 10 years now. Some of the biggest acts perform there. His wango tango performance was awful. He was off pitch and everytime he tries to focus on his music and he releases something, nobody cares. Right now he’s famous, for being famous.

      • islandwalker says:

It’s been around since 1998. Wango Tango is an annual day-long concert produced by local Los Angeles radio station KIIS-F.

  5. Abbott says:

    Bless his swaggy heart.

  6. Kaye says:

    Punk.

  7. Vampi says:

HA!… Yeah..,beacuse you know, we all made mistakes like peeing in mop buckets and spitting on people who pay money to keep us famous. It’s normal, yo!
He has a punchable face… and if that makes me horrible, then so be it.
I have also vowed never to click on a Kim K thread again, ( yeah, I know…it won’t matter…) but her rep saying about her green lawn that ” Kim takes the drought seroiusly, she has no problem letting her lawn go brown”…..yeah….nice non answer. Bet it stays green. Lies. Rich lies by ALL of the FW’s.

  8. Canadianbaconator says:

It’s just a career move he needs to keep the money flo comin cuz once it stops there goes all his luxury lifestyle and attention with it

  9. ShinyGrenade says:

    Gross.

Don’t you feel a bit sorry for the girls of today?

So glad I grew up with Han Solo and Indiana Jones.

  10. Harryg says:

And I’m sorry I have to see your stupid face EVER. Go away.

  11. Susan says:

Enough of this pity parade. Then he shows up at the Met Gala and after parties with the Brat Pak (ho hum, hasn’t this already been done right) and acting like a tool. Or another shining moment the Mayweather fight and after parties?

  12. Jayna says:

Real rockers like Rolling Stones and bands like the Beatles, Depeche Mode would be so mortified by this phony, cloying apology tour he keeps doing. Just straighten up and go out and do some decent music that makes people sit back up and take notice and shows an artist evolving and put on an awesome tour instead of that same old same old like at Wango Tango, no artistic growth and lip syncing and the same old basic moves you’ve been doing for years on stage for your tween/teen base.

  13. Kym says:

I think his phrasing is quite telling: “I’m sorry *IF* I let you down”, similar to that non apology apology “I’m sorry if you were offended.” Dude isn’t sorry.

  14. Lucy says:

    His facial expressions, though. Hilarious.

  15. Susan says:

Kid made something like $500 million dollars before he was 18. His parents just lapped up whatever they could from the gravy train and let him run riot. He’s a d-bag mess with the emotional maturity of an adolescent. He’ll be a mess his entire life…. Or til his money runs out…. Or he overdoses.

    • Anname says:

Your first sentence sounds like Lindsay Lohan, Bieber seems to be following the same career trajectory. Both reasonably talented kids with irresponsible parents, who never grew up and learned how to be adults. I would be shocked if Bieber ever turned it around and became popular again.

      • Susan says:

its sad isn’t it. These kids make mega money but have these horrendous parents using them as meal tickets and they make these horrendous life choices before they are truly even mature enough to be out on their own. But they are making boat loads of money so their infantile egos are coddled until suddenly they are these severely f-uped adults with no coping/life skills……

  16. Iheartgossip says:

Shut up. Go away. Your ‘appeal’ was over about 5 years ago. Now you’re just a whiny baby. Grow up. Your ‘fans’ have aged out, you know; they’ve become 14 and no longer like you. Take a year or two off and then stage a fake ‘come back’. Oh wait if you take that long off people won’t give one ioda
