There should be an international law that Aishwarya Rai cannot wear anything that tries to distract from her face. I’ve already discussed how magnificently beautiful she is, but she really needs to keep it simple! This Ralph & Russo Couture gown is too much!! Aish attended last night’s Cannes Film Festival premiere of Youth, and while she was easily one of the most stunning women there, more people could have admired her beauty if she wasn’t wearing this crazy half-origami gown. PS… You know what else she needed? Darker lipstick.
Petra Nemcova in Zuhair Murad Spring 2015. The peplum kills it for me. If this had been a sleeker two-piece ensemble, like a fitted silk jacket with no peplum and a chiffon skirt, it would have worked a lot better.
Chanel Iman in Donna Karan Atelier. One of the few Donna Karan appearances at Cannes from what I’ve seen. I like it! It’s a good example of how to do that shiny satin really well. The fit is great, which is absolutely necessary.
Karlie Kloss in Louis Vuitton. I think I’ve hated every Louis Vuitton look so far at Cannes. This is no different. It’s totally wrong for this red carpet. Worn to a premiere in NYC? Sure, it would be fine. But it looks more like she’s just going to some after-parties rather than walking one of the biggest red carpets in the world.
Joan Smalls in Alaïa. She wasn’t the only one doing the midriff-bearing thing on this red carpet (Kendell Jenner did it too). I like Alaïa, but this doesn’t even seem like Alaïa. It’s too flouncy, not body-con enough. I’m just not feeling it.
Barbara Palvin in Versace. Yes, the skirt has some weird sheer panels. I like the idea of a younger model in classic black Versace, but I think the sheer sleeves might make this look too “mature” for her. She’s young enough to have hooked up with Justin Bieber (that happened a few years ago too). She shouldn’t be in a gown that I could easily see on Jane Fonda.
Lara Stone is some kind of hot mess in this vintage Gianni Versace gown. They probably opened up the archives for her, but this is not what they should have chosen for poor Lara. It doesn’t fit her!!!

Poor Lara’s panties are showing.
I don’t think the fit on Lara Stone’s gown is off- but the dress is totally see-through.
It is, her boobs are well below the bustline. This particular Versace was made for someone with a small bust.
The Ralph & Russo Couture gown is hideous. Aishwarya is beyond beautiful.
Kaiser – you are right-on with the Jane Fonda comment. That dress should be strapless. Why didn’t they ask me?
Jane would kill it in that gown!
I really like Rai’s gown. She’s about the only one there who could pull that off, since she isn’t rail thin.
I was about to say they all look flawless. then I saw the last one…
I liked Aishwarya’s gown. It doesn’t have the same impact the last one does, but it’s quite interesting. She toned the make up down, so maybe that’s why her face is not so in evidence.
Nothing distracts from her face. She could wear toilet paper and still look lovely.
To me she is so beautiful that she becomes meh.
This usually happens with guys who are so Ken Doll attractive that I find them boring.
Maybe these aren’t the best photos of her.
With the concealer beneath her eyes and the light lipstick , I can imagine what she would look like without makeup. Not good. She has a good makeup artist, like Oprah.
Ashwarya’s dress is over the top but she’s so pretty that she can rock evertything. I don’t hate it on her.
Petra Nemcova and her terrible implants again… I can’t understand why she insists to show them off.
Karlie Kloss looks great and I think she has put on some needed weight. Her body is amazing but this dress is not for the red carpet.
Lara stone is s pretty and juicy woman but this dress doesn’t do her any favors.
Barbara Palvin has a cute baby face and this dress is too mature for her. She looks like a little girl playing dress up.
Karlie Kloss’ smug face needs to go.
All I see is Taylor Swift when I look at her.
I think that the make-up on Aishwarya is worse than the dress. Her face would save this look if not for the awful pale shadow making her eye color look less striking, too much eye-liner and/or fake lashes making the eyes look smaller and the combination of peach lipstick – darker contouring on her lips. She doesn’t need half as much make-up – actually, she could have gone make-up free and look breathtaking. I don’t care for any of those dresses but Karlie Kloss has an amazing body.
“She’s young enough to have hooked up with Justin Bieber” – not a good indication of someone’s age (*cough Miranda Kerr cough*).
Not only Lara Stone’s dress doesn’t fit her, her make-up and hairstyle are AWFUL and everybody can see the shape of her panties.
Love the jewelry here, especially Petra’s necklace and Chanel’s earrings.
The dress/outfit Joan Small is wearing is a bit Coachella-ish, isn’t it? She looks phenomenal tho
Babs has hooked up with everyone back in Budapest, shes notorious.

Still a gorgeous woman with beautiful, strong features.
I am totally thankful for Lara Stone’s undies. First off we had the navel side slit dresses that let everybody know their bare cooters were flapping in the wind. Not satisfied with that, now we have the see through dresses. You can see tits and ass with the poor excuse of chiffon over them. Call me a germ phobe but I don’t want peoples uncovered minges anywhere near me. Can you imagine sitting near Kim kardashian at the Met ball. God, I bet you could even smell it. Sorry, I like my oriffices to be covered at public events. Call me old fashioned.
