Last week, George Clooney and Amal went out to dinner with Julia Roberts. George and Julia have been working together in NYC on Jodie Foster’s new film, Money Monster. After the dinner, Julia publicly gave Amal her stamp of approval, although that doesn’t really mean much. I mean, Julia Roberts deigned to mention someone other than Julia Roberts, so that is newsworthy, but let’s not pretend that George and Julia and Amal and Danny Moder are now besties and double-dates. It’s not that I think Julia doesn’t play well with other women, nor do I think Amal has the same problem – I think both women are simply used to being the center of attention, the queen of all. I can just imagine that the dinner was a minefield of passive-aggressive shade and goose-honk laughing.
Now Star Magazine is getting in on it. Because two women will never be able to get along (even if I agree that these particular women probably don’t care for each other).
George Clooney is desperately trying to act as peacemaker between Julia Roberts and his wife, Amal! Julia is fuming that Amal keeps showing up on the NYC set of ‘Money Monster’, even bringing her parents and sister, Tala, to meet the cast.
“Julia tolerated it the first time,” dishes an insider. “But Amal keeps dropping by and interrupting filming. Everything grinds to a halt and it’s driving Julia crazy!”
George heard Julia’s gripes and took the two women out to a swanky dinner to smooth over tensions. While he claims that the pair have “become good friends,” insiders say Julia is just playing nice… for now.

See? Julia’s mad because Amal is pulling focus from the most important person on the set: Julia Roberts!! Honestly though, Amal has only made a handful of pap-friendly stops to the New York set, so it doesn’t really feel like Amal is there constantly, enough to annoy Julia. But anyone trying to pull focus from Julia for any amount of time will always be The Enemy!
Julia also deigned to participate in a skit for NBC’s Red Nose Day. It was sort of funny but the bit went on too long.

I agree and i think Julia seems pretty down to earth in some ways. I like that she has a normal figure as in not a walking skeleton, she dresses normal and seems to be a good mother to her children.
I read this in a completely different way. Based on the last few weeks, George probably stops everything to continue his deeply invested relationship promotional tour with great fanfare, and to the detriment of the entire crew,.

It’s actually pretty funny, because Dustin Hoffman went off on Julia being unprofessional during the filming of Peter Pan when her KieferSutherlanditis was interrupting filming. I don’t know why my brain is spewing up ancient gossip today.
I love it!! I was too young to follow that stuff at the time, and it’s always intriguing to hear about the scandals that managed to fade away before the days of social media and blogs.

The issue with Roberts on the cover when she cancelled her wedding to Kiefer was bananas.

I doubt very much that Amal Clooney interrupted an entire shoot. She may not work in the entertainment industry, but she is far from an idiot. She understands that such interruptions would be very costly, not to mention unprofessional, and I don’t think she would want to make her husband look unprofessional either. Just MHO.

She looked to me to have a normal figure in the shots we first saw at the restuarant in London. She was wearing a red dress. Since then she just seems to be getting thinner and thinner. I noticed the magazines in the UK are starting to report on it saying how stressed she is and loosing so much weight. I thought she was maybe loosing some weigth for her wedding like a lot of brides do but it seems she is getting thinner by the day and it is not attractive. I cant understand women who want to be so thin they look unhealthy and gaunt, her clothes dont even look good on her.
When Princess Diana started loosing weight to this dramatical and unhealthy looking extent, it was when she realized her marriage was the biggest mistake she made EVER! Now, analogies …
I just realized that she has LESS than no hips. Like, her hips are almost concave. I’m not joking. I can’t believe how thin she is.
She is straight up and down, no curves whatsoever, i just dont understand how this is supposed to be attractive, even models like Kate Moss and Christy Turlington have curves, Im not saying Amal needs to have a figure like a model as that isnt what she is but I just get the feeling she wants to be so slim so she can wear her couture clothes.
Teehee, reading JR’s “We went out to dinner. I met her at dinner. George doesn’t need my approval, but I’m quite enamored with her,” last week, I pictured JR’s ‘how can I phrase this shadily with sufficient deniability on the shade’ look as she framed her answer.
JR is most likely a B*-on-wheels which probably gives her added instinct when it comes to recognising a fellow one of those looking to make it head first, by marriage, out of the attention-racetrack traps.
The difference is on a movie set JR plays with home advantage (hers by right). And Amal pap-walking her way into Money Monster THREE times over two weeks (with various sundry Alamuddins in tow each time) did, ‘legit’ give JR ammo. Also, there’s reported murmers crew were not best impressed at the stop-start the Amal Show caused but bit it back because of old goodwill the former-George has, rightfully, earned.
Not a fan of JR in general, but until she starts parading Danny Moder through a courtroom (x3), I’m gonna give her this.
Also, JR gets points for making it, both, in and out of the ‘we had supper’ venue WITHOUT pap shots. AMAL (and George) really need to ease up on how obviously they drop that dime in the pap-phone slot!
I know I post a lot (too much, maybe) on Clooney Inc but THEY’ve made it too shooting fish in a barrel WHACKyMole easy.

A low Julia
It was not just George, Amal and Julia for dinner- it was several people from the set together. But Amal brought her cousin, her half-brother, her mother&father&sister to the set- so I could believe that’s disturbing at times. Perhaps even more so for Jodie Foster as director. Otherwise, I doubt Julia&George are more than business friends. And Amal and Julia becoming friends? No way. They are both not used to play second fiddle.
However it went down, realistically, I don’t see California girl from the American south who has been a coddled actress for years and a London-based well educated professional having much to talk about besides polite dinner banter.
If they get along. If they don’t – who cares?
But, please, tell me these two actually put food in their mouths. They both look like they need a bit less yapping and a bit more chewing.
I’ve always thought Julia has a nice figure. She’s never been skinny — she looks to me like she exercises just enough to maintain her shape, and she likes to eat.
Now Amal, on the other hand… Wow. There isn’t much to say about her teensy weensy-ness that hasn’t already been said.
Yeah, I can’t picture what A and J would have to talk about, but at the same time, I don’t think Julia is the village idiot who can’t carry on a conversation about politics or world issues. She doesn’t have a formal education, but for some reason, I’ve always had the impression that she reads a lot and takes a genuine interest in things. Now that I’m writing that, I’m not sure WHY I have that impression, but I do.
I agree I think Julia has a nice normal figure and she doesnt dress to impress, she seems down to earth, I also like the fact she keeps her kids private and away from the media. I wouldnt be a bit surprised if she was a little peed off about Amal flouncing around thinking shes the big superstar while probably having the paparazzi paid to be there. Julia was just doing her job.

I just saw pictures of George in Shanghai, wasnt she supposed to be with him? I would of thought there would of been pictures of them arriving at the airport or hotel. I was surprised she wasnt at the London premiere since it is her home town and it was a Sunday evening. She seems to be laying low at the moment but im sure she’ll pop up soon. Maybe she is getting more plastic surgery or something but i doubt there will be any baby bump.
He told some interviewer she would go with him to Shanghai (and Tokyo afterwards), but it doesn’t really look like it- there would have been pictures. Perhaps there is a crisis? Like they finally noticed their PR is too much? Or George did read the first reviews on Tomorrowland, and didn’t feel like putting some effort in anymore? Like: “Honey, you can stay at home, it’s not gonna be a hit anyway!” That Casamigos shirt isn’t such a good idea…

I would be shocked too since George practically said he has no intentions of having children there ‘not on his list of things to do’ as he said in a recent article, which surprises me as I thought when you meet a woman that you love and adore so much, as George wants us to beleive with Amal he would love to have a child with her. I thought this was very cold thing for him to say. Although maybe she doesnt want kids either, who knows.
I agree with you Siri, I hate those Casamigos t-shirts he wears and those awful ill fitting jeans, they do nothing for him, if I was Amal I would throw them out. He always looks nice in a suit, much classier looking, those t-shirts look tacky.

Money Monster was filming across the street from me. I asked one of the crew how they felt about Amal constantly being on set. He laughed and shook his head, winked and kept doing his job.
I can imagine two divas with each other. With Amal gone I guess we know who won this round.
Both of them strike me as capable of a lot of bitchiness and an “I’m better than everyone else” brand of snark. Amal may be a lawyer, but my money’s on La Julia if I were to bet on who’d throw the last and best verbal punch. And I’d want a ringside seat…..
Looking at the last two photos, I am shocked by how super skinny Amal is. She looks like skin and bones – that can’t possibly be healthy.
She does not look healthy at all. I have noticed the weekly magazines in the uk are running stories on her weight loss, putting it down to stress of marrying George and her career. Who knows why but she definetly is starting to make people wonder why she is so drastically thin.

I’ve never gotten the impression that Julia Roberts was like that. I do think that she is a brilliant actress though. I don’t think she could give two hoots about who Clooney dates or marries.
