License To Wed is out in the US on July 3, and stars John Krasinski, Mandy Moore and Robin Williams. It is directed by Ken Kwapis, who directed nine episodes of the US version of TV series “The Office,” and features US Office actors Krasinski, Angela Martin, Mindy Kaling, and Brian Baumgartner. Here’s the plot summary, which sounds kind of lame and I bet Williams’ character is annoying, but it looks cute enough judging by the trailer:
Sadie Jones (Mandy Moore) has always longed to marry the man of her dreams in her family church. Though she found her lifetime companion in Ben Murphy (John Krasinski), Sadie is distressed to learn that St. Augustine’s has only one wedding slot available over the next two years. While Sadie and Ben do qualify for the slot, charismatic St. Augustine’s minister Reverend Frank (Robin Williams) won’t wed the couple until they agree to attend his two-week prenuptial course. Now, as their wedding date draws near, Sadie and Ben must attend every one of Reverend Frank’s exhausting classes and complete a series of rigorous homework assignments designed specifically to test their dedication to one another and ensure that their union will have a sound foundation.

And here’s the trailer:
Mandy Moore’s dress with the cut-out bodice is a little too Barbified for my tastes, but her hair and makeup are gorgeous and she sort of pulls it off. Krasinski has such a nerd-guy-neighbor hotness about him, and his star is definitely rising.
