Miranda Lambert ‘kept her own identity within the marriage & she wants privacy’

wenn22022438

Miranda Lambert made her first post-divorce appearance in Nashville on Wednesday night. She wasn’t wearing her ring, which brings me to something I absolutely loathe: Ring Watch. Whether or not someone is wearing their ring doesn’t mean anything to anyone other than paparazzi. I think “Ring Watch” is one of the worst things in the world. Anyway, so Miranda wasn’t wearing her ring, which makes sense because she just went through one of the fastest divorces I’ve ever seen. She came out for Ashley Monroe’s album release party and I guess they sang a duet or something – go here to read some of the coverage.

After the first 48-72 hours of crazy back-and-forth gossip about who cheated on whom and who was the bigger lying douchebag, I’m both pleased and disappointed that the gossip around Blake Shelton and Miranda has slowed down significantly now. Watch… now that I’ve said that, there will be some huge gossip story about Blranda later today. In any case, it looks like Miranda and Blake have reached some sort of agreement to not continue bashing each other in the press. For now. Page Six had this story this morning:

Miranda Lambert returned to the stage on Wednesday, and a source said it’s exactly what the singer needed as she deals with her divorce from Blake Shelton.

“She’s really trying to get back to normal, and I think being onstage is a part of that,” we’re told. Though “nervous at first,” Lambert surprised her friend Ashley Monroe onstage in Nashville, Tenn.

“I’ve known her for 10 years, and the love between us truly is like a sister. I knew once she started to hear me sing . . . she’d want to sing harmony. That’s how we do,” Monroe told reporters.

Shelton and Lambert both championed Monroe’s music, but our insider said Monroe is being a source of comfort for Lambert. “Ashley is a great friend . . . and [Miranda’s] been leaning on her,” said our spy.

Monroe said: “We’ve definitely gone through a lot together as friends and through life, but I can see her and I rockin’ it out when we’re 90 years old, sitting there with a shotgun in our hand, rockin’ on the front porch somewhere, like ‘The Golden Girls.’”

The source added of Lambert, “She hasn’t changed. She kept her own identity within the marriage and maintains her own identity. She wants her privacy.”

[From Page Six]

My mom loves Blake Shelton and when we were talking about this split, she told me that her impression of Miranda is that she’s always been very serious, very locked down, almost a nervous, fidgety woman. Which is why I don’t really buy the more salacious stories we’re hearing about Miranda. I mean, sure, I’ll go the distance and say that she was perhaps having a long-term affair with someone she trusted, but I have a hard time believing she was banging half the married men in Nashville.

Meanwhile, I will always believe that Blake Shelton had a wandering eye. He’s always seemed so shady to me about women. The rumors about Blake and Cady Groves (a minor country singer) have been around for years. If you believe the rumors, Blake and Cady had a torrid affair and then when it was over, he dumped her and helped destroy her country career. Cady had been tweeting a lot of not-so-cryptic stuff all this week – go here to see. Cady’s brother went to Radar and talked about how Cady’s association with Blake ruined her career – go here to read.

    Count me as one of the people who cannot believe how much gossip news space this not-surprising breakup is getting.

    I’m in a country music area, and the topic of my colleagues’ lunch conversation went to this. And the general consensus was — both probably have dirty laundry, and why is this (or they) so huge? George and Tammy, they are not.

    • Michelle says:

      I agree with you, Christin. I’m not in the country music area, but The Voice introduced me to both Blake and Miranda and the media has always been all over them. I can’t say I’ve found this to be surprising based on all the things that’ve been printed about them over the years and even their body language (I’m no expert and don’t claim to be) but it all just always seemed too contrived. Blake was always talking about what a strong, tough woman Miranda was and they both always seemed very uncomfortable talking about their relationship and like things were strained and they always seemed to be apart. Nothing shocking here about them ending up divorced.

      • Christin says:

        Funny how so many are on the same page with these two.

        I don’t follow modern country as much, but try to keep up a little with the personas because I am in an area with deep roots in country (several big names are from the region and many of us are or know someone related to or who went to school with a past or present well known singer). I was amazed at how closely opinions matched among my work family.

        Your comment mirrors something one of them mentioned about Blake. He seems to have made himself a more mainstream appeal type ‘country’ guy, but guys in the actual rural areas probably aren’t big fans of his. The general opinion of her was — well, not one to cross.

    I dont care if she stepped out once. The fact is he has a lot of ppl trying to make him appear like a “great guy” bc of the voice and their family show marketing. He has always looked like an unwashed scumbag and acts like a 14year horndog. I dont think anyone believes his bullshit that he’s never cheated except delusional people like Blake himself. Miranda doesnt have to speak out bc no one believes a word Blake says and THAT’S why he’s a better song writer over singer.

    Had to use horndog bc I just discovered it lol

    • ol cranky says:

      yeah, The Voice’s family show marketing is so very consistent with have Ceelo Greene come back for an episode this year SMDH

  3. InvaderTak says:

    Now that her pr strategy clearly didn’t work and she can’t refute some pretty nasty gossip, she wants privacy. Gotcha

  4. Bridget says:

    Can I go with some from all of the above? They were never around each other, both parties probably strayed, and she’s kind of crazy (which I thought was supposed to be part of her charm anyhow)?

  5. funcakes says:

    I agree Ring Watch is crazy. There’s plenty of reasons not to wear a ring. For most people wether it’s water retention due to medications or monthly periods. Or maybe the darn ring no long fits due to being content (weight gain) after marriage.

  6. katy says:

    Yeah, I never understood ring watch. There are times when I don’t wear my ring at all – for instance, sometimes my fingers swell (lack of water throughout the day does that to me but I’m trying to get better at it!), and I just can’t wear my ring. I take it off at night so it doesn’t catch on my sheets, and there are times when I’m still half asleep, stumbling out of the door to work when I realize I didn’t put it back on, and I just don’t feel like walking back upstairs to go put it on. I never understood the huge thing about “omg, so-and-so isn’t wearing her ring!!!!”

  7. Ana says:

    The only thing worse than “ring watch” is “bump watch”.

  8. Neah23 says:

    Blake was so cheating with a woman who look like she 12 years old and his side piece is/was talking. Here what she tweeted since Blake/Miranda divorce announcement.

    @cadygroves
    Its sick that I experienced a once in a lifetimes love-still as strong as the day it happened- & have been punished every single day since.

    @cadygroves
    I never quit loving you—you just ran

    @cadygroves
    Isn’t that what they teach you love is? One loves the other more and therefor holds the power to virtually murder the other.

    @cadygroves
    You had the power. And you turned off the lights. I lit the world alone: and now, isn’t it crazy I just wanna shine with you?

    @cadygroves
    After all these years- it’s you. Always was: always will be.

    @cadygroves
    All that’s left now is the future.

    ‏@cadygroves
    Ignore the negativity in your life. Right now I’m taking bullets for other people and sometimes in life that’s where courage comes from.

    @cadygroves
    I love each and every one of you. I am a good person. Do not judge someone if you don’t know anything about anything. It’s ridiculous.

    This is from a 2012 interview with Cady. She’s shameless.

    “Blake was a huge inspiration to me!” she gushed. “He is an amazing guy. It’s just too bad he’s married. I love older men! I’m a petite 21 year-old and Blake is tall and 35. That’s called a perfect fit where we’re from.

    “I think (Blake) is very handsome, and as a couple we would look great. We even had photos taken together on set with his arm around me.

    “Any girl would be lucky to have him. Miranda should consider herself lucky…”

    Here another new tweet.

    @cadygroves
    Everything shapes you: your scars, your mistakes, you accomplishments: but the most important thing that defines you: the amount of love you not only accept, but give. Because you are worth all the love in the world—and you definitely have mine. 💜💜

    • Sunsetsnow says:

      He sure likes them a little crazy. This girl needs to back away from social media for a bit.

    • Christin says:

      I read those with a mix of fear and feeling a bit sorry for her. She sounds like a love struck middle schooler.

      Dude has a type, it seems.

    • kcarp says:

      I don’t get how the tweets are about him? Were they to him? Did I miss that main point? Or did she just randomly tweet this stuff?

      • Neah23 says:

        Yes the tweets are about Blake and her bother is now talk about how after her affair with Blake he had her blacklisted. I can see why Blake did it to he was looking for a one night stand and she was looking for more and is she is a grade A clinger.

  9. Ronda says:

    Lainey was pretty much putting most of the blame on her and saying that she cheated a lot and got more and more careless with it and that blew up in her face.

    • Neah23 says:

      Lainey is a big Blake fan so of course she putting the blame on Miranda if she wasn’t so blinded by that she would have seen the tweets I posted above from Blake side piece who basically says they had an affair.

    • Elle Robbie says:

      I was disappointed by Lainey. I get Blake has NBC behind him, etc., but Lainey’s borderline slut shaming of Miranda was disgusting. If it’s true Miranda stole a song, then yeah, that’s awful, but don’t hide it under a blind. Own it.

      I’ve figured Blake has been stepping out on their marriage. Wouldn’t surprise me if Miranda was as well. Whatever floats their boats. But the way Blake came out swinging with all the allegations against Miranda left a bad taste in my mouth. Maybe she is a crazy piece of work, but he married her, and he could have stayed quiet. I’m disappointed Miranda responded, but I also sort of get it: he was trying to throw her career under the bus.

      • MrsB says:

        What?? How was she slut shaming Miranda?!
        Saying she had an affair/s is not slut shaming.
        Also, the reason a blind is blind is because people don’t want to go on record with the info. If she printed it as anything but blind, she would open herself up to libel.

  10. LilyT says:

    I’m glad I read those Cady Groves tweets on an empty stomach.

    I think I found a new meaning for “gag reel”.

  11. Christin says:

    Give it a week or two, and the women (and possibly men) may crawl out of the woodwork for their own 15 minutes of infamy.

    Remember all those security guys Katie H. had when she did the great escape? They were in Tennessee tagged vehicles, so Blake might want to see if they will travel to LA and help him out. Between Lainey’s blind and those cryptic tweets, he may need some bodyguards. Seriously.
