The Daily Show With Jon Stewart | M – Th 11p / 10c | |||

A svelte-looking Seth Rogen was on The Daily Show last night to promote his films Monsters vs. Aliens and the upcoming Observe and Report, out April 10.
Stewart initially complimented Rogen’s weight loss, and he jokingly explained it by saying “It’s called bulimia, John, and it’s amazing. You eat whatever you want and you just vomit it up afterwards. That way you get all the flavors of delicious food and none of the negative side effects, besides all my teeth are fake. But other than that it works great. I recommend it to everyone.”
Rogen shouldn’t joke so casually about bulimia as it’s a serious problem for countless people. He explained later “I just started exercising and eating better, I must have really been in bad shape. Your producer was like ‘wow, it must be really great to do things like walk up stairs and stuff.’ I could walk up stairs before.”
There are rumors that Rogen lost the weight so quickly by snorting the white stuff. He freely admits to smoking pot, I heard him talking to Terry Gross on NPR about it, and that may be how the rumor got started that he dropped pounds with cocaine. I would give him the benefit of the doubt, though. There’s a lot of pressure in Hollywood to be thin and although people go to extreme unhealthy measures like drug use and eating disorders there are plenty of actors and actresses who lose it the old fashioned way, which isn’t necessarily harder. It sounds a lot harder to me to puke up everything you eat or get jacked up on cocaine so you can’t sleep.

I very highly doubt he took coke. Any lazy overweight male can drop 40 pounds fairly easily by just eating some vegetables and drinking water.
He looks really different now. Dare I say, sort of hot?
It’s almost creepy. 🙂
Rogan shouldn’t joke about bulemia? Why? Because it’s a disease? He’s a comedian, that’s his JOB. Jeez.
He did it to play Green Arrow. It’s been mentioned in several articles.
heh heh, right on HEB.
I know the Hollywood thin pressure thing but I don’t see Rogan necessarily feeling it. It was part of his movie image. I can imagine he wanted to do different roles or be taken a little more seriously but it’s not like the tabs were shouting from the hilltops, “WOW, Rogan’s let himself go”, “the truth behind Seth’s weight” etc.
And no, I agree, the joke about bulimia was a little unnecessary.
i like him much better chubby. let’s face it, he’ll never be a leading man, at least when he was chubby he was at the top of his category.
agree with photojojo
Also agree with photo jojo. Please don’t make this into a PC issue.
I’ve had a thing for him for a few years. I like my men with some meat on their bones! And a sense of humor never hurt anyone.
Isabelle it’s the green LANTERN, not the green arrow.
isabelle, its green hornet, not green arrow. just to clarify.
Would love him to make that quip about bulimia but with the word “cancer” in there instead. Hilarious.
aw, love me some seth rogan, but i prefer him with a little chub!
Isabelle – it’s “The Green Green Grass of Home”
(just so we have the full set 😉 )
Throw me on the PC-pyre but I do think that joke wasn’t funny or in good taste (‘scuse the pun)
He was always overweight…even back in the days of Freaks and Geeks. I highly doubt he lost all of that weight so fast without some sort of chemical assistance.
Sigh. Actually, quite a few people “lighten up” the subject of cancer by joking about the weightloss. Like, “hey, it’s a great diet.” Seth is a comedian; this isn’t a figurehead we’re talking about.
And I hate when someone betters themselves and makes themselves more healthy and people say “I actually liked him better FAT” – i swear, some people will do anyting to justify and make themselves feel better about the fatness of the world.
CB – it’s spelt Rogen not Rogan for the title.
🙂
Mairead – get thyself onto the pyre!
I cannot help but like him, whatever his weight is.
The guy is funny & cute!
He’s pretty hot, but I like him chubby, too.
Oh he is adorable, and it’s so funny to see Jon Stewart crack up like that.
Get a sense of humor people, it was a joke, geez.
I think he looks great. Its not like he’s lost an unhealthy amount of weight, and he isn’t in the spot light all that often really.. he could have been losing weight slowly over the last 6 months and it just seemed like a fast loss because he hasn’t really been around much since Pineapple Express. I doubt its from coke because he isn’t looking grossly skinny or any of the other signs of coke use.
His joke about bulemia wasn’t in great taste, but yeah, he’s a comedian, he makes jokes, I’ve seen MANY other comedians make WAYYY worse jokes and didn’t get chastized for it.
He disgusts me.

I never really thought he was that overweight. More like normal.
that being said, and on topic, the stuff there seems just like self-deprication to me.
thanks !! very helpful post!
I have to say I prefer him chubby, mostly because he doesn’t look comfortable with himself at this weight.
Maybe he needs time to adjust to it or maybe it’s the hair not quite working for me. No idea.
I think he prefers himself chubby. Being thinner is probably weird for him.
Cocaine is why he lost some much weight.
