  1. Mixtape says:

The Pistorius headline is a bit misleading. He was scheduled to move to house arrest (parole) after 10 months in prison, but due to public outcry, they are keeping him in prison for now while they review their options.

    • Ravensdaughter says:

Yes, the article says: “Oscar Pistorius, the South African track star convicted last year of fatally shooting his girlfriend, will remain behind bars pending further review of his scheduled parole, South Africa’s Ministry of Justice and Correctional Services announced Wednesday, according to local media.”
What was the final conviction charge-negligent homicide (manslaughter)?

  2. Esmom says:

Omg, I can’t believe they were about to let Pistorius out after only 10 months. Thank goodness someone caught wind of it, although who knows what the court will decide.

As someone on Buzzfeed commented, “You’re basically allowed to kill one girlfriend, as long as you are presentable, say sorry and come up with an excuse.”

    • GoodNamesAllTaken says:

Yes. I wonder if they will feel the slightest twinge of guilt when he kills the next one?

    • Zwella Ingrid says:

It kind of reflects on how society values women, doesn’t it?

      • What was that says:

It is a woman’s group that has been successful in pressurising the Justice Dept.
I hope that they can keep him there for many more years..

    • Ankhel says:

Being presentable and saying you’re sorry was important, but being famous is what saved Pistorius. I’m sure of it. His excuse really was pathetic btw – so transparent. That judge was pond scum, to be so happily manipulated.

  3. bettyrose says:

On a related topic, did we already discuss Morgan Freeman’s granddaughter being murdered by her boyfriend? It doesn’t matter that one has celebrity connections except that it’s the only time domestic violence makes headlines

  4. Betti says:

He needs to be put in with the general populace -he should never have been given special treatment as after all he wants to be treated like he’s abled bodied, works both ways you murderer!

I hope the prosecution win their appeal and I hope that they at least make up for the ballless way they dumped the Dewani case – he’s another who’s guilty of murder. Like Pistorius he pled mental health issues, cried fake tears and yet suddenly when the case was dropped made a miraculous recovery from his ‘crippling ‘issues’.

    • What was that says:

      Exactly!!
Dewani was and is shady .
The joke is the Pistorious family are now trying to take legal action. That is outrageous they should keep quiet ..he is has been lucky..I hope the prosecution wins the appeal on the charge.
This was all on Reeva’s birthday…some people have no shame!

  5. Daria Morgendorffer says:

I just saw on the news yesterday that the prosecutors are seeking a retrial for Pistorius, so we’ll see what happens. I’m sorry, but a man with admitted anger issues who had a plethora of people come out and attest to him going ape sh-t at the drop of a hat along with the fact that he was obsessed with guns did NOT kill his girlfriend by mistake. It was so obvious that this was not a mistake, it’s such a joke that he got away with it. I hope if they’re granted a retrial, this time around justice is served.

    Test.

  7. Nancy says:

I feel nothing but contempt for this person. That poor girl killed in the bathroom by this monster. I always go back to where I read she was only with him a short while and wanted to leave him. Ladies if you even have the slightest inkling there’s something wrong, there is something wrong and run like hell. I wish she could. Bless her in Heaven

    • Katy says:

Excellent point Nancy! I can’t help but feel she had gotten a glimpse into his true self and was horrified at what she saw. I only wish she could have gotten away from him the minute he showed that side of himself.

    • Betti says:

Yes and he has a history of being abusive to women – he punched a young woman in the face at a party at his house, she dropped the charges thou am sure she was either paid off or got his lawyers to scare her into it.

    • Trashaddict says:

I feel nothing but contempt for the country that let Pistorius pull this S$%^ with no real consequences. Bastard is probably going to pull a real pity party when he gets out, about how hard jail was on him. Watch out for the sociopath language, I guarantee you it will be all about how all of this impacted HIM. This and the female “Viagra” pill both have me seriously irritated today.

      • Tracysmiles says:

I completely agree with you, @trashaddict. It is very much a case of ‘reap what you sow’ with the extraordinarily scary precedent they have set with this case.

  10. frisbee says:

What a day on these boards… some of these stories are enough to make you lose the will to live, can we have something a bit lighter tomorrow please Kaiser?

  11. Dinah says:

It’s easy to blame men (and perhaps in this case it is justified). There are also women who ignore pleas and cries not to be with certain wicked men. Those women are arrogant enough to believe that while he may have allegedly smacked down and even raped and killed some of the women before her, she is the Holy Grail of Cinderellas who will change that man and his wicked ways forever. The police say it all the time: Men win the final fight. Do women really want to be destroyed by wicked men?

I don’t know if Reeva was warned well ahead of time, but I suspect she may have known about his gun addiction, his paranoia, the fact that he knocked around a few and knocked back a few. Such a sweet, cute bad boy is not worth your life, but there are women – and always will be – who will die at their hands to prove everyone else wrong.

I know of one case where the woman is still alive and knows how to fight for her life. She brags she is the best and, so far, she is. But is that Ike-and-Tina style love what love is all about? Interestingly, this gal grew up with four very tough brothers and she knows how to “put him under the gun,” referring to fights with her husband. He has bragged, in a fight, she’s “as tough as any man.” She is and probably tougher than most because she’s tiny and at a physical disadvantage. She can shoot a gun, though, and knows how to pack her heat.

I’ve known a few of these types of women, another one who bragged that she was better than one wicked loser’s five previous wives. She’s alive and well as ex-wife number 6 because she had time to escape and very dear, endlessly patient friends to finally rescue her.

My point is I’ve seen this scenario so many times in my line of work. Histrionic, narcissistic women are naturally drawn to sociopathic, narcissistic men. They often play deadly games with each other that only they understand, because they live in “a world built for two – me and you.” Some women in prison cry, missing their abusive mates, because they were the only ones who could ever understand them.

    • IcyBlue says:

Sorry but is your point is that some women deserve it? If so, you are wrong.

      • Dinah says:

No, it is absolutely that they do not deserve it. Do I think that people who are killed in car wrecks because of drunk drivers deserve to be killed because they happen to be on the same road as the drunk drivers? Of course not. Many people don’t deserve to die the tragic deaths that are inflicted on them. Some contribute to the circumstances more than others, though. My point is this: if you’re a woman and you’re involved with a man with a history of abusing women, don’t try to change him and run, run for your life if you have the brain and the guts to do it. Abusive men usually don’t change and they’ll continue to murder women who believe that somehow, deep down, they can change them. There are two sides to every story.

  12. Tilly says:

He has such an evil presence about him – so much so that I pick it up just by looking at pictures of him. Women need to stay well clear of him!
