I love the Amber Rose Funny or Die video.

    Bettany. Not even close.

    • moot says:

      +1 Team Bettany.

    • Shar says:

They can both have at it on my bed…with me in the middle.

    • j.eyre says:

Without even reading a word, I am Team Bettany for almost everything.

    • Ninks says:

I’m surprising myself by being Team Statham on this one. He wasn’t being critical of any of the Marvel actors, he was critical of the Marvel movies being overly reliant on green screen, CGI and stunt doubles and said that it wasn’t something he would like to do because he prefers to do real stunts and do the physical action himself. I think he makes a very valid point. Anybody could be cast in a Marvel movie and pull it off. Scarlett Johansson was pregnant during the shoot for the last avengers film, and that didn’t affect the way her character was written because all the physical stuff was done with stunts and trickery and CGI. Statham prefers it old school when the actors were really doing the stuff and there was no green screen involved.

His comments weren’t directed at any particular individual. Bettany’s remark was personal and insulting and directed solely at Statham. Possibly, hopefully, Bettany didn’t know the full context, because I think his comment was out of line.

      • Sam says:

It makes more sense when you realize that Statham has been really active for a long time in the “stunt” community. He’s very vocal about wanting stunt performers to have a category at the Oscars or some equivalent awards recognition in Hollywood and trying to gain respect for the profession. I can understand how he feels like the Marvel films shortchange the profession by just trying to use CGI instead. I think he’s defending his first profession, and Bettany should step off. Bettany isn’t even actually IN any of the Marvel films, if I recall right; he’s a voice actor in them. Statham wouldn’t even be insulting him if he was talking about the actors. And weirdly enough, voice actors are another group that struggle to get equivalent recognition in Hollywood.

      • Lilacflowers says:

@Sam, Bettany became the Vision in Age of Ultron. He is now an Avenger. The voice in Iron Man’s suit is now a woman’s

      • Crocuta says:

@Ninks, I see what you’re saying, but I disagree. By saying his grandma could have played those parts, Statham insulted all the actors as if their work there is useless. It seems like for him, it’s the stunts that matter, not the scenes in between with no green screen but with actual acting. Which is a valid way to look at action films, but I enjoy the characters with their remarks more than I do the fighting, so I cannot support his view.

And Statham indeed cannot act, he is a superb thug and that’s it. He could have done all the stunts instead of Marvel actors, but he could not play any of those roles. Perhaps his grandma could have, who knows. 🙂

      • Neah23 says:

        @ Crocuta

I’m sorry, but you can’t call what’s going on in those comic movies acting because it’s not. So Statham would be perfect for those Marvel movies and the bonus would be that he can do his own stunts.

      • Crocuta says:

Of course it’s acting. Not Oscar-worthy acting, but it’s acting. Trust me, I could not have done anything in the shoes of Black Widow, because you know, I can’t act. Neither could Statham in the shoes of any of them in THEIR parts, because he too, you know, can’t act. He could be his usual thug and that’s it.

      • Miss M says:

        I completely agree with you!

      • Neah23 says:

        @ Crocuta

I don’t know how you can say Statham can’t act, but call what’s going on in those movie acting. What they are doing is reading lines from a script that’s is it, and that is not acting each and every one of them half a$$ it.

I get that you don’t like Statham, but what is up with you calling him a thug.

      • Crocuta says:

        @Neah23

You’re wrong, I do like him, he seems like an OK dude who loves his craft. I even loved his part in Snatch, he fitted great there. But I did not like his nasty comment towards the Marvel actors and I agree with Bettany that he can’t act. That’s all. I’ve seen him in Expendables, Crank and Furious franchises and Snatch and he’s a general thug in all of them (I didn’t mean he is a thug in real life, just his one overdone character is). I am completely convinced he could not have pulled Captain America’s vulnerability or Thor’s likeableness and charisma or Banner’s wit (I picked physically strong, fighting characters because this seems to be more his thing than Stark or shooting-from-the-distance Hawkeye). Those do require some acting. Not saying the actors portraying these are always amazing, but they heavily surpass anything I’ve seen JS do. He could do a henchman or a thugish villain. But that’s – I’m afraid – it. Perhaps he someday proves me wrong.

      • amilue says:

        Yep. Team Statham.

    • minx says:

      Love, love Paul Bettany.

    • Adrien says:

I love you Paul but after seeing Spy, Statham can do no wrong so team Jason all the way.

  3. paola says:

Bindi Irwin is the best contestant of any DWTS EVER!
her energy is so infectuous and she is just so likeable I can only see her winning.

    • Mitchie says:

Of course she is. Why do you think she was paired with Derek Hough? It should be called, Dancing with Derek…and the rest!

  4. Birdix says:

That dog! Wish I lived somewhere cold and could have a Husky.

    • Hudson Girl says:

      Re: Husky story
My lovely former neighbor had 2 huskies in a huge house with a cleaning lady. Even with the cooler New England climate they shed like MAD and their house always smelled very strongly of wet, smelly dogs. The house was cleaned twice a week!
I’m only sharing this as a caution to those who might not find the reality of these cute dogs as romantic. I hate when pets end up in shelters because they’re not a great fit for someone.

  5. funcakes says:

Jason is sexy as the Transporter. Bettany always look mad to me.

  6. Sam says:

Eh. Bettany did Mordecai, so his rational thinking skills are, for the time being, seriously suspect.

Statham, to my knowledge, has never tried to be an “actor” in the traditional sense. He’s an action dude with some slight drama/comedy thrown in. He knows his bread and butter. He doesn’t try to step outside the comfort zone, and I actually respect him for it – more than I respect a dramatic guy trying to do action that he’s clearly unsuited for (cough*Legion*cough*Priest).

    • Crocuta says:

Funny you should mention Mortdecai. Bettany was the only good part of that movie, but when I was watching it, I kept thinking he’s playing a character Jason Statham normally plays.
(That’s why I find their “brawl” even funnier.)

  7. LAK says:

    Paul Bettany of course!!

  8. Abby_J says:

    Team Bettnay. Always.

No man can rock a patterned suit like he can.

  9. Tiffany says:

Has anyone read about Ahmed Mohammad. Holy crap that is all kinds of awful. I attended a school that focused on engineering so my classmates roaming the halls with projects were the norm. To have that happened and having to do the perp walk in front of classmates. Wow.

People will lose their jobs….and it could not happen to better ones.

    • original kay says:

      it’s heartbreaking.

    • Sam says:

Yeah, that’s awful. My husband made a good point when he read it – “If he wasn’t jaded towards America before, they’ve certainly ensured that he is now.”

It amazes me that an English teacher sounded the alarm. The story I know is that the alarm went off in an English class and he pulled it out to silence it and the teacher freaked out. Why not, if she was concerned (and I don’t begrudge her a little bit of concern), why not call an engineering class teacher to inspect the device – who certainly would have confirmed it was harmless? We’ve got everybody in the country so wound up.

Stuff like this makes me afraid for my kids. My husband is a pretty dark Arab man, we have a daughter who is as dark as him and a son who’s skin tone is sort of up in the air right now. And my husband hasn’t been Muslim in years (born to Muslims, largely atheist for a while, converted to Christian Science).

Nobody will care that my kids are American citizens, or Christians, or mixed race, etc. All people see about them are dark skin and an Arab last name, and that’s it. I know that and it scares me to death. It makes me want to keep them little forever! My daughter just started school and truthfully, I keep waiting for that phone call that something has happened. I know it’s coming and I don’t know how we’re going to explain this stuff to her when she experiences it. It sucks.

(ETA: and let me be clear, the fact that Ahmed is a Muslim doesn’t make it okay to arrest him. I was pointing out that policing by religion is insanely stupid, given that you can’t “tell” religion by looking at somebody. Many Americans cannot make the distinction between Muslim and Arab and use them interchangeably. I also wonder if, say, a Muslim from Bosnia, Albania or any of the other thousands of white European Muslims would have been given such scrutiny).

      • mayamae says:

I understand your fear. I worked with a close friend who was an Indian Muslim. His name is Mohammed, as was his son’s. Post 9/11, the fear and hatred culminated in his wife insisting they change his son’s name – which they did. He also received threatening phone calls, and a certain amount of patients (always seniors) quizzing me on his race and religion. Led by me, my department vehemently defended and protected him. The patient wasn’t always right in my mind. I shut that shit down and had no patience for it.

    • Tiffany :) says:

That is really a horrible story. My heart goes out to the child. The racism in the way the situation was handled was so completely obvious. A clock does not equal a bomb.

I shudder to think about what such treatment does to a child mentally and emotionally. I wish I could give him a hug.

    • Tiffany :) says:

      This makes me happy!

      From CNN:
“President Barack Obama, Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan and thousands of others are showing support for Ahmed.

“Cool clock, Ahmed,” Obama tweeted. “Want to bring it to the White House? We should inspire more kids like you to like science. It’s what makes America great.”

The President would like the teen to join him and other scientists next month for the White House’s annual Astronomy Night, White House press secretary Josh Earnest said Wednesday.”

  10. Miss M says:

Team Statham! He was notcriticizing anybody’s acting. He was criticizing the process og maling action movies these days. Heck, I could do a marvel movie (hahahahah). He is right! Stunts are always overlooked and mot recogniZed for their work… Especially when there are actors out there saying they do ALL their stunts.

Bettany was really rude. As a great actor he is, he has done sh&tty movies. He needs to shush Or be more graceful in his answer. I am disappointed at Bettany.

  11. Tiffany :) says:

The “thighbrow” thing is beyond stupid and it sounds like oddly placed hair.

  12. Mrs. Darcy says:

I used to be a real Bettany fan, but lately not so much. He looks quite evil in that pic which isn’t helping! I’ve heard bad/weird gossip about the way he treats his wife, which I can somehow believe. Statham is dumb as a box of rocks but he is good at what he does and I agree there is too much CGI and I would rather watch Statham do his real kung fu shirtless movies any day of the week than a bunch of overpaid H’wood types and their green screen.

  13. Clamp says:

I like Jason Statham and his B-grade stuff and Paul HAS sold out a bit and hasn’t done an interesting film for years, so +1 to Jason and 0 to Paul.

  14. MI6 says:

Paul Bettany all the way. What a gentleman. I met him once in NYC and he was so friendly and genuine. Team Vision!!

  15. Eve says:

    BEEEEEEEEEEEETTANY!!!!!!!!

Statham can go suck his thumb. Or his d*ck since his head is already up his own ass. Idiot.

    Idiot. Idiot. Idiot. Idiot. Idiot.

  16. Sarah says:

    Bettany 😏

  17. Ana A. says:

I absolutely love Paul Bettany and have been for years, but on this one I’m Team Statham. Statham was only talking about the stunts part and he is right on that. He wasn’t attacking the actors but said that CGI isn’t authentic to him and so he doesn’t want to do it. So sorry Paul, no need to insult him personally.

  18. Fran says:

    Jason all the way!!!
