Tom Hiddleston at the Rome photocall for ‘Crimson Peak’: so beautiful?

wenn22948478

Yay, new Tom Hiddleston photos! These are photos of Tom and Mia Wasikowska at the Rome photocall for Crimson Peak. I’ve been looking forward to this promotional tour, and it’s my hope that Hiddles keeps speaking words about feminism and nudity. Please let that happen! And I really don’t know what’s going on with Hiddles these days, but he has looked incredibly beautiful now for weeks. I thought it was just the Spanish light, but no, he looks just as lovely in Rome. He looks like a beautiful woodland dragonfly, right? He’s probably taking better care of his skin, maybe?

There are a bunch of smaller Hiddlestories from the past few days, so let’s do a list:

First look at The Night Manager. TNM is the miniseries Tom filmed earlier this year with Hugh Laurie, and it will be coming out on the BBC and AMC (in America) next year, probably. You can see the first glimpse (within a larger BBC promo) here.

Tom doesn’t know Loki’s future. Tom spoke to his BFF Josh Horowitz at MTV several days ago and Josh asked Tom about coming back as Loki for Thor: Ragnarok. Tom really doesn’t seem that into it, saying: “I never quite know whether people want to see him again or whether people want to move on. I can’t really take the temperature on it. It’s so difficult because it feels like if it ever happened again, I would try not to repeat myself, I would try something new. I never want to feel like I’m retracing the same steps. I guess it’s like any actor who plays a character over and over again. I wonder what it’s like for the guys who play The Avengers. They feel the same thing – each time they want to take it on, take it in a new direction.

Tom talks to Collider. This is mostly about High Rise and I Saw the Light and it was filmed during TIFF.

He’s just so elegant. I love me an Elegant Ginger.

  2. De says:

So this movie is coming out soon? I feel like I’ve been hearing about it for the last two years.

  3. mimif says:

So excited for Crimson Peak! Even if it’s Hiddles’ buns and not Hunnam’s that we get to see.

  4. Diane says:

Both Tom and Mia gorgeous…. Tom looks great….just wow. Beautiful location for a photo call!

  5. shannon says:

I want him. So, so bad. I suddenly despise Elizabeth Olsen.

I’ve always found him attractive and LOVED Loki, but the burning desire didn’t start until those promos for Crimson Peak started rolling. That part where he is practically climbing up Mia…oh MY.

    • Madly says:

No need to despise her. I don’t think anything is going on there. Kaiser forgot to mention his UNICEF trip in March. He looks pretty hot in those shots.

    • jammypants says:

I thought this year he looked great since BAFTA. It just kept going, oooft.

      • NUTBALLS says:

I’m amazed at how he went from looking the worst he’s ever looked (Evening Standard Awards) to looking the best he’s ever looked (TNM Hartland photos) in a mere four months.

      • jammypants says:

Very true! how does he do it? Children’s tears? Unicorn blood?

      • neutral says:

He lost so much weight to play Hank it is bound to have an effect on his general appearance, making him tired apart from anything else.

      • NUTBALLS says:

Jammy, if you go back to those old threads you’ll see certain Celebitches were nursing him back to robust health when he came home. Lilac was in charge of feeding him roasted potatoes & pudding, P’enny, myself and icerose assisted in taking turns caring of him in other, more licentious ways.

While things might have got out of hand the weekend of Bendy’s wedding (depends on who you talk to), you can see for yourself the effect of our combined talents by the time he started filming TNM. Yes, we’re that good.

      • Lilacflowers says:

@Nutballs, and which of the three of you is responsible for all those bruises he is showing in TNM pool scene?

      • NUTBALLS says:

No clue. Icerose, was that some S&M that went awry on your visit?

He did trip and fall a couple of times while we were running in the mountains, but it was just a flesh wound. He’s had worse.

      • jammypants says:

@nuts, bless you ladies. Drinks on me for making Tom pretty again.

      • icerose says:

Nutballs Everything between Tom and me has always been short and sweet and about soft feathers and other relaxing items which bring only sensual pleasure and always will be.It is his freedom from restraint.

  6. NUTBALLS says:

Hell to the Yes!! What a great way to start the day.

DE, CP comes out October 16th in the US.

These pictures are further evidence that Tom has never looked better. I hope he promotes the hell out of this film before he heads off to Hawaii to start Skull Island. I want to see him promoting with Jessica though. The synthesis of their personalities is so entertaining.

  7. Sixer says:

He really is looking good at the moment. LEGS.

Loki words translation: “Jesus, no, I do not want to play him again. He got me what I wanted. Hollywood offers, GQ spreads and a fandom. Now I want to get as far away as possible, thanks.” Kinda like leaving your Disney Kids career behind, ain’t it?!

    • Lilacflowers says:

Sixer, question about the BBC promo video. I see Stellan in there. What show is he in? Is it a new one or something that has been around that I might find somewhere? If the latter, is it good?

      • Sixer says:

It’s for River. It’s going to be one of those tortured but brilliant detective things – BBC aiming to emulate Scandi noir, I think. Abi Morgan, who wrote The Hour, is the creator. It should be high quality viewing – but not particularly original, if you know what I mean. On over this autumn at some point. I’ll be watching!

      • NUTBALLS says:

I asked this on another post, but what else should we be looking out for on Netflix, Amazon etc, that’s being promoted? I saw Nicola Walker who I saw again recently in Everyman. I like her. Waiting for the new Luther. What else is good that’s coming out?

LEGS. I wanna climb that tree.

      • Sixer says:

I’ve been so busy I haven’t been watching that much! I told you about the documentary series Ascent of Woman already, didn’t I?

The latest series of This Is England is currently showing on C4. If that’s on any of the streaming services it’s worth watching. I love it. And the BBC never makes any working class dramas.

      • NUTBALLS says:

Sixer, yes you mentioned Ascent of Woman, but it’s not available to us yet. We’ll have to wait for the other one too.

Fortunately, I’m busy binge watching True Detective which is knocking my socks off. Cary Fukunaga is my latest nerd crush and McConaughey’s performance is mesmerizing. If you haven’t seen season 1, I’d highly recommend it.

      • Lilacflowers says:

Hoping PBS Masterpiece Mystery picks up River. It seems to have a really strong cast.

      • neutral says:

@ Sixer The Village (Maxine Peake) was BBC and that was about as working class as you could get. And don’t you count East Enders? 😀

      • Sixer says:

neutral – The Village doesn’t count as it was period drama. Neither do soaps! For every one BBC prime time storytelling drama featuring w/c characters, there will be 50 m/c or period ones. Have to go to C4 for the actual face of Britain!

      • jammypants says:

Abi Morgan is ace. Loved her work on The Hour.

    • NUTBALLS says:

I think he’ll be glad to leave Loki behind, but I do wish he’d stop with the false modesty. He’s well aware that Loki is Marvel’s most beloved villain, second in popularity to Ironman in the franchise. Of course fans want to see more of him. He’s the only thing that makes Odin’s family the least bit interesting.

      • Lilacflowers says:

But Idris lives on Asgard too!

      • NUTBALLS says:

I don’t even notice Idris in the Thor films. Luther however,…. SWOON!

      • neutral says:

Perhaps he’s covering all bases after his cameo in AofU got canned.

      • byland says:

Yeah, Heimdall is kinda bland. It’s hard to make Idris uninteresting, but damn if those terrible Thor movies don’t manage it, huh? And YES to Luther. I live by Luther, I swear. So good. So Angry. So complicated. So sexy. BBC is the best, but I wanted that Luther movie they teased about so if I’d had to I would have staged a revolt. Thankfully, they realized their error and are sending more beautiful episodes my way. And everyone else, too, I guess. I don’t like to learn too many details about my obsessions in advance, lest the experience suffer for it, but I do know there’s no Ruth. So that’s just terrible. Their chemisty was pretty much combustible.

      • NUTBALLS says:

byland, Luther won’t be the same without Ruth. I would squee inside every time she was in a scene. She’s such a delight to watch and her chemistry with Idris was as you described.

      • byland says:

Nutballs, I absolutely agree with you. Their scenes together were always the highlight of any episode. Ruth Wilson is amazing. Alice is very near the top of my favorite villan list. That very first episode where they meet on the bridge, urn and knife in respective hands, then decide to go for coffee? Swoon. But it was the series 1 finale that did it for me. The speech she gives him about statistics on people deluding themselves? Pure foreplay as far as I’m concerned. The only reason I might have wanted it to end right at series 3 was because it ended with them together. I only hope series 4 is a situation where he comes, saves the day, then goes back to his psychopathic lady love.

      • jammypants says:

I’m ready for the Loki thing to be over with.

      • NUTBALLS says:

Me too, Jammy. I like Loki, but my enthusiasm for Marvel films has waned since the first Avengers film. I did like Cap 2 and I’m interested in seeing Strange, but I’m not excited about the same CGI superhero movies with little character development anymore. #comicbookmoviefatigue

      • jammypants says:

@nuts, yea it was Ultron that killed my Marvel enthusiasm. The Winter Solider and Guardians of the Galaxy were amazing so I expected better. I thought Ant-Man was good 😛 I do plan to see Doctor Strange as well. Hopefully my comicbook fatigue will go away. I like this stuff.

  8. Lilacflowers says:

Some of the Rome pictures show more legs because Sixer asked for more legs.

Colin has set up a buffet of Italian treats on the veranda. And lots of chianti, montepulciano, and prosecco for everyone

  9. Fran says:

    He’s perfect. Yumm!

  10. Beth No. 2 says:

He does look good here; very fresh vibe. I like Mia’s haircut too.

  11. Hannah says:

i wouldn’t call him beautiful. He’s got a nice, tall, lean but toned body. His face is average though.
Mia is an amazing actress. I’d be interested in seeing this movie.

    • Velvet, Crushed says:

I ask the forgiveness of people who’ve read my statements to this effect in the past, but, in person, his face is beautiful past bearing.

      • Ankhel says:

Nothing to ask forgiveness for, surely. People do sometimes say such things about Tom here. They may even repeat themselves once or twice. You blend in nicely.

      • jammypants says:

I agree. His bone structure is incredible in person. His skin is so nice too!

      • icerose says:

and his elegance is just hits you like a hammer

      • jammypants says:

@ice, ditto on the elegance. In person, you sort of feel intimidated even though you can guess he’s probably the nicest person around.

    • Bint says:

Agreed Hannah. He’s not my usual type (that’d be Charlie Hunnam), but that VOICE!! Geez Louise he could kill with that thing.

I’ve read somewhere tho that he’s gay, which totally doesn’t diminish my imaginative qualities at all. My mind is a pleasure palace with room for all comers. Ehehehe. See what I did there?

      • neutral says:

“I’ve read somewhere tho that he’s gay” – stay away from IMDB and the evidence would suggest otherwise.

      • amilue says:

Seriously – re: gay doesn’t diminish the fantasy. My two boyfriends, Richard Armitage and Lee Pace, are most likely boyfriends themselves, but that’s only intensified my burning love!

  12. Esteph says:

Excuse me ladies while I go get my man Tom…I don’t feel like sharing him today 😉

  13. Algernon says:

I crack up when film actors talk about playing the same character in a franchise, let’s say 4-5 times on average. Obviously, some of the Avengers will do it for longer, and the Harry Potter people did it for twice that length, but they’re like, “How do you keep coming back to a character every few years and make it new again?!” And it’s like, guys, that’s what TV actors do for dozens, if not hundreds of episodes for years. Jon Hamm played Don Draper for seven years and his performance was excellent and no one ever got tired of seeing him in that role, and I doubt Hamm was creatively unfulfilled by it. Loki is one of the best roles in the Marvel universe and you only have to play him four or five times, Tom. You’ll live.

  14. Madly says:

Ugh, they are having a war on IMDb over if he is gay or not. Staying away from the insanity.

    • Diane says:

There is one poster that is very invested. Its just a silly conversation with no basis and frankly uninteresting, not based in any fact and ignorant. Imao. There are some that take their opinion a bit far. There are a lot of trolls on that site. Its supposed to be a movie site. The one poster you are talking about write essays about it and posts like 100s of comments a day about Tom. They need a moderator over there….best to ignore that yes.

      • neutral says:

She comes across more mentally ill than invested to be honest.

      • Diane says:

@neutral One if the down sides of the internet unfortunatly. Its too bad, i always find it best not to engage someone like that.

      • neutral says:

@Diane Thanks, but don’t worry I wouldn’t. I’m not subscribed to IMDB and don’t feel inclined to, to be honest! More fun on here. 😀

    • Algernon says:

Now you know he’s really made it, if they’re arguing over whether or not he’s gay.

  15. Veronica says:

Can we follow all the Kardashian articles with Tom posts? Sort of as a palette cleanser.

    God knows we need it.

  16. Ankhel says:

Huh, apparently I made a louder involuntary noise looking at this picture than I did looking at pics of baby sloths earlier. That’s probably not good.

    • Dara says:

@Ankhel – the sight of Tom seems to stir quite a lot of involuntary noises.

The first time I saw Coriolanus, I was in a semi-crowded theater and I literally had no control of the noises I was making, let alone their volume. Is there a word for something that is a cross between a whimper and moan? I’ve never had people turn and look at me in a darkened theater…until that night.

  17. neutral says:

What I want to know is where is Mia’s left hand in the pic of them together? 😀

  18. Boston Green Eyes says:

First things first: Where are the refreshments? It’s the main point of Hiddles threads!

  19. neutral says:

Teatime with sabrina and violet has lots more nice pics of Tom in Rome.

  20. I Choose Me says:

Why hello, Tom. He looks so good.

I know Mia is dating Jesse Eisenberg but I kind of want her and Tom to hook up.

    • Boston Green Eyes says:

I love Mia. I think she’s currently my favorite actress. I just saw her in Madame Bovary last week. She’s another actor that she can totally change herself for whatever role she is in – like Daniel Day-Lewis.

      • Lilacflowers says:

        Have you seen Tracks?

      • Boston Green Eyes says:

@Lilac, no I haven’t. Is it very good? I also really liked her in Jane Eyre.

      • NUTBALLS says:

Am I the only one that didn’t like Jane Eyre? It surprised me since I like Fassy and Mia and have a huge boner for Cary — I should have been biased in his favor, at least.

I disliked it in the way I disliked The Deep Blue Sea.

      • et alors says:

NUTBALLS, I’m in agreement with you on Jane Eyre. It should have been catnip for me, but not even Fassbender in a nightshirt could make me watch the whole movie. So dreary.

      • icerose says:

i thought Jayne Eyre was bland and back then i did not know who either of them was. Fassy has done so much better work but i really fell in love with him in A Bear Called Wnnie.

      • Lilacflowers says:

@Boston Green Eyes, it is pretty much just her, a dog, and a pack of camels in the desert for two hours, although Adam Driver pops up periodically. I saw it and Wild within days of one another and preferred it to Wild.

I also loved her Ava in OLLA.

      • neutral says:

        But she drank Ian!

      • Lilacflowers says:

        And smashed his beautiful Gibson.

      • jammypants says:

I like Jane Eyre, but then again I like that dark gloomy type of shit.

  21. koko says:

Love these shots. I wouldn’t call him beautiful but he seems to grow more “handsome” to me as he ages. I’m probably behind on this but I see the “watch” has changed.

    • jammypants says:

Yea he’s filled out and looks more manly as the years go on. He also seems mellowed out, which is a bonus.

    • Dara says:

I heartily approve of the new watch. While the Tag Heuer Monaco he was sporting for some of the War Horse promo appearances is my all-time favorite, this one is probably more practical for everyday use.

  22. neutral says:

To all those commenting on how good Tom looks, I think he looks happier and healthier than he has for a while.

  23. Dara says:

Maybe we should trade the Proseco for Champagne. Rome for breakfast, but Paris for dinner! The CP party has moved to The City of Lights for the premiere.

  24. TotallyBiased says:

    Sweet!
    http://www.rollingstone.com/music/news/holly-williams-weighs-in-on-hank-williams-biopic-i-saw-the-light-20150928
Obviously, just because the rest of the family didn’t see the need to run their mouths like H3 didn’t necessarily mean they were against IStL. Plus it seems pretty clear H2, at least, was part of the conversation.

    • Dara says:

After Hank Senior, I consider Holly the most talented musician in the entire Williams clan. I’m glad she approves.

    • Solanacaea (Nighty) says:

Well, if they managed to get the approval of some relatives, that says a lot, considering all the awful things H3 said before…
      *My guess H3 was jealous*

    • Lilacflowers says:

Note that she said: “we.” Tom has already said that Holly wrote him a letter about his performance. Jett Williams was on the set and Hank 2 was probably consulted at some point. Of course, Hank 3 isn’t getting along with the people in his own family.

    • neutral says:

icerose – you say “he keeps talking about” but that is probably because he keeps getting asked the same questions. 😀

    • neutral says:

      sorry duplicate post.

  25. et alors says:

Tom and Mia at the Parisian premiere. Pretty.

    twitter.com/Loki_Page/status/648588475084615680

  26. amilue says:

Gorgeous! I love the way he carries himself. So old Hollywood!

  27. InvaderTak says:

I feel like Mia needs new hair and makeup.

  28. Lilacflowers says:

He’s on the cover of German EPD Film magazine and it is stunning. Yes, he’s wearing blue. It looks like the picture was taken earlier this summer when he had the sunburn/tan and lighter hair from filming TNM in Morocco and Mallorca. Or they used a lot of bronzer everywhere.

    • Dara says:

Matthias Vriens McGrath (the photographer that posted photos on his Instagram with Tom and Jessica just after SDCC) also just posted another photo w/ Tom that has the same background as that magazine cover…I think. MVM’s photo was in bw so can’t be too sure.

That magazine cover looks very saturated, like they amped up the intensity of every color in the photo, including the skin tones.

  29. Camille says:

No. Just no. His eyes are too close together (for starters). He looks like a rat or something to me. Yuck.

    • Solanacaea (Nighty) says:

What’s with the actors and animals? Is it a fetiche people in general have ?? I mean, they’re lizzards, rats, otters, etc, etc…
Animal kingdom seems to fascinate everyone… Hooray for National Geographic and others..

      😀

    • jammypants says:

      more for meee

  30. Heather says:

He looks amazing in blue. It really brings out his eyes.

He doesn’t look any different to me than he has any other time (playing hank not included of course) – same smiley face, healthy physique under that shirt. In some of the premiere photos (high rise last week at San Sebastian and CP tonight in Paris) he seems a bit more “serious face” at times. Could be tiredness starting to creep in what with three films to promote and travelling all over the place before he’s off to play in the jungle. He is still as handsome as ever, tho.

Still crossing fingers for him wearing a tux at the London High Rise premiere. He has been blue suits and grey ones so far! I need a tux-wearing hiddles again – the Baftas was months ago, and he wasn’t quite so blonde back in February. *sigh*

    • KTE says:

Actors often do ‘serious face’ red carpet posing – I think it’s because there’s so many cameras taking pictures that they’re worried about either having a frozen-smile face or being caught mid-expression looking goofy, so they keep their face as still and composed as possible while facing the banks of photographers.

  31. Sarah01 says:

Oh yes he has an air and grace about him, his wit and intellect are very sexy – I love the way he talks

  32. DT says:

He is beautiful but is there something different about his face these days? I can’t put my finger on it if you look at his photos when he had black hair doing avengers I feel like his face is very different, I thought it was a nose job but now i’m not convinced. Is he just ageing really well? Handsome bastard

    • Velvet, Crushed says:

I don’t know if this would account for what you’re seeing, but I’ve noticed in the past that the musculature on one side of his jaw is stronger than the other. I thought it had been under better control the last eighteen months or so, but in these photos it appears to have flared up a little. I like him in all his asymmetrical and eccentric glory.

    • jammypants says:

I think he filled out, more meat. His face looks a little less angular than it used to. Not complaining. I like him with some more bulk.

  33. Lindy79 says:

Yes to that BBC Autumn line up.

I love September onwards telly, being the 35 year old fart that I am.
