A few months ago, some interesting news broke about Iron Chef Cat Cora. The news sort of came in waves, considering most people didn’t know much about Cat’s personal life. First, Cat Cora is a lesbian. Second, she has a wife, Jennifer Cora. Third, they already had two children together. Fourth, Cat and Jennifer were both pregnant – with each other’s eggs. Meaning Jennifer’s egg was implanted in Cat, and Cat’s egg was implanted in Jennifer. It was a lot of news to handle, but, personally, I was happy for one of my favorite Iron Chefs.
So now there’s more happy news to announce. Cat and Jennifer just welcomed their son Thatcher Julius Cora! Baby Thatcher was born April 4th, and he is the son from Cat’s fertilized egg that Jennifer gestated. Cat is still pregnant with Jennifer’s biological child, and Cat’s due date is a few months away. So… what do you think of the name? I kind of like it. Thatcher Cora – it’s pretty cute!
Bust out the baby rattles and bassinets! Celebrity chef Cat Cora and wife Jennifer Cora tell OK! exclusively that they’re the proud new mommies to son Thatcher Julius Cora.
The couples’ rep tells OK! that Jennifer gave birth to the bouncing baby boy on April 4.
“Cat and Jennifer loved the old English name Thatcher, and Julius was Jennifer’s grandfather’s name,” their rep reveals to OK!. “Both mom and baby are doing great!”
The couple have two kids already, Caje and Zoran, and Cat is also currently pregnant and is due in a few months.
“We decided that having them a year apart is harder than having kids as infants together,” Cat told OK! previously. “[Jennifer] carried my embryo and I carried hers. It’s like surrogating, but obviously all of our kids are equal.”
From OK! Magazine
What to say about the whole Jennifer-carrying-Cat’s-embryo thing… nada. I’ve got nothing. If they can afford the procedure and it means that much to them, so be it. I suppose I could make an argument about it all being a waste of money, but I kind of like the overall point they’re making, though it’s extreme. My bigger concern is that when Cat gives birth in a few months, there will be two post-partum, breastfeeding, miserable mommas in the house.
Now, back to the names of their other kids. Caje and Zoran? No, and no. Or is that bad? Caje Cora? That’s not so bad. But Zoran Cora? That poor kid. So now they have Caje, Zoran and Thatcher. I wonder what the fourth kid will be called. Zambanita Cora? Coronado Cora? I kind of like Coronado Cora!

I love cooking from Cat’s cooking from the hip book. Never watch Iron Chef, but I do like a celebrity chef that lives their life with flair.
All I have to say is congratulations.
So the mystery ingredient was……EGGS!!!
nudgie: lol that’s good!
so that’s 3 boys so far. Poor ladies.
Wow, I didn’t know the babies were due like now. Congratulations to them! It is very interesting how they’ve gone about the embryo implating–I thought Cat was implanted with embryos that had Jennifer’s eggs and Jennifer with Cat’s eggs, but that doesn’t seem to be the case. I kind of think it is strange they aren’t going to find out who the biological mother is of the baby Cat is carrying considering they already know for the other 3. Maybe I read it wrong somewhere, but that’s what I’ve read.
I like the names. I think the new one is cute; Caje sounds cool; and Zoran is a lovely Slavic name derived from “dawn”. It is a very popular name in the Balkans…
