Kim Kardashian celebrated her 35th birthday yesterday and Kanye West threw her a surprise birthday party. As soon as I saw that he had rented out a movie theater for her birthday, I thought to myself, “I bet he arranged a screening of Steve Jobs.” Because Kanye is obsessed with Steve Jobs. He’s obsessed with comparing himself to Steve Jobs. Kanye thinks he IS Steve Jobs. And guess what? He totally made Kim and her family watch Steve Jobs. LOL. Classic Kanye. “Imma throw you a surprise party but we gonna watch a movie that I wanna see!”
Kanye rented out the Cinepolis Luxury Cinemas in Westlake Village for the private screening. Most of Kim’s family came out – minus Khloe and Rob, I think – and they all brought presents wrapped in black and white wrapping paper. The birthday girl wore a dress that looked like it was made from beige Spanx material, and she accessorized with an utterly unfortunate fabric choker. Terrible. None of the little kids were invited, but Kanye really did go all out – he arranged for tables to be set up in the lobby and refreshments were “provided by Margarita Man.” Kim wrote on her Instagram:
My husband never ceases the amaze me! He rented out the entire movie theater to screen the new Steve Jobs (It’s sooooo good BTW) and had all of my family & close friends come dressed up as their best pregnant Kim look (fake baby bumps provided on arrival!) Not sure if that was to make me feel less huge or just a fun cool theme but I loved it & had the best time ever, feeling so very comfortable eating churros with a bunch of pregnant women! Just what I needed, the perfect chill yummy food birthday!!!!
It’s worth noting, I guess, that Kim had to cancel her baby shower last week because of the Lamar Odom situation. When Kim was in Las Vegas with Khloe, Kanye stayed in LA with the North (and he was apparently looking after Kourtney’s kids too for a few days). I kind of wonder if Kanye is going to arrange another baby shower for Kim now. There’s no real hurry – she’s not due for another two months!

Yah they’re meant to … on account of the baby that’s meant to make it’s way out in 2 months. By all means make fun of her fashion sense (or lack thereof) but perhaps forget the pregnant body shaming.
Totally agree. I mean, there’s enough legitimate stuff to shade Kim for, but she looks fine for being this pregnant.
I’m actually jealous, I was due around the same date as her but we lost the baby a few weeks ago and I wish I was having pregnancy related weight issues right now to be perfectly honest.

Not really. The garments she’s wearing actually look stretchy and very comfortable. There’s nothing pulling in her stomach area, just nice stretchy fabric cradling the baby.

Who does a baby shower for their 2nd kid whI is close in age to the first. I mean people will send presents anyway, but another party specifically to get gifts?
I doubt it’s about gifts for Kim, I honestly don’t see her keeping anything someone other than Kanye selected for her… It’s just an excuse for her to be the center of attention; her very favorite thing in the world.
I’m pregnant with my second child (my son is 2) and definitely plan on having a small party! Not a shower with a registry, but something to celebrate a new life coming into the world. Just because he/she is not the first born doesn’t mean they’re not allowed to be celebrated. Plus, any reason to eat cake suits me just fine! 😋
I see nothing wrong with having a party to celebrate a new baby – it’s a joyful occasion. But I agree with Karen that it should be a no gifts party. People can give you a gift when the baby is born if they want to, but really, you shouldn’t expect a shower every time you have a baby. That used to be understood, and I know the rules of etiquette change, but I think few things are as boring as sitting around watching someone else open gifts and having to exclaim over each one.

Every baby deserves to be celebrated if the parents want a party or if a friends arranges it. Why do you actually care? If you are too cheap to buy a gift for a second baby then make a statement by going empty handed. Everyone will love you. Also Kim and Kanye are richer than hell and I’m positive the shower wasn’t about gifts but about a fun gathering in honor of their baby. Go figure..

OMG I am a terrible person. For some reason when I read the headline I thought the movie referred to was her porno thing from years ago.
Honesty I don’t want to comment on her looks anymore. She seems so uncomfortable with herself and you can see her facial expressions are screeming I feel miserable don’t take photos of me.
Maybe that hair and type of dresses are what she thinks makes her look good. And you know the world is made of different tastes.
I think she looks very pretty, actually, if she would stop trying to be sexy and glamorous for these last months. I wish she could just embrace the time for what it is instead of trying to wear what she always wears. Just be comfortable. I think she would be so much happier. But she must think if she’s not “sexy” she’s nothing. That’s sad.
Other than maybe the shoes, she is dressed comfortably. The fabrics she is wearing are ultra stretchy. There’s nothing binding or pulling in the baby area at all. Not sure why people keep saying she is uncomfortable.

The assumption is she’s not comfortable in her clothes. Maybe switch out the shoes for flats. Or if she wants, mix it up & lose the body-con stuff. Dress to feel good about herself.

Combined with always walking a few steps behind Kanye, and allowing him to dictate her look, yeah, I think she has confidence issues, which sadly relate back to mama’s ideas of what to value, and self-worth.

I think the fake bellies thing to stroke her lack of self esteem is disgusting. I have friends, w/out kids, many who cannot have them but do not advertise their struggle. They would feel like shit have to wear fake bellies to make someone else feel more comfortable with their body size. Might as well slap on fat suits for over weight men.
