Angelina Jolie & Brad Pitt took Vivienne & Knox to a NYC Barnes & Noble

144513PCN_Pitt01

Yesterday, I wrote this about Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt: “Every time they step onto a red carpet, or step out for a pap stroll, every single blog and magazine in the world will run the photos. Why spend money on advertising when you can get all of it for free?” Lo and behold, Brad and Angelina have a movie to promote and they stepped out in New York on Tuesday afternoon for a nice family pap stroll. These photos are already all over the blogs and news outlets. Every time Angelina and/or Brad step out with their kids, it’s a headline. So… seriously, why spend the money on commercials for By the Sea?

Anyway, Angelina and Brad took their two youngest children, twins Vivienne and Knox, out to Barnes & Noble in Manhattan. Angelina and Brad don’t seem like the kinds of parents who get their kids the big, expensive toys every other month – most of the time, when we see the kids out with their parents, they’re going to a book store or an arts & crafts store or maybe to a fast food joint. For this trip, they seemed to have loaded up on books too – they left with at least three bags full of stuff. As for Vivienne and Knox… these kids are so cute. I like that Vivienne has permanent bedhead, like she always looks like she just woke up from a nap. Knox seems very quiet, but like a deep thinker. And Knox is getting more strawberry blonde/gingery as he gets older too!

Last night, Angelina and Brad walked the the red carpet for a screening of By the Sea, their first red carpet together since… the Unbroken premiere in Sydney, last year, I think? We’ll have those photos in a separate post, so please no threadjacking. Tomorrow night, they’ll be in LA for the AFI Fest premiere, and I’m excited to see what Angelina will wear (ten bucks says it will be a ‘70s style sack dress) and how much energy they bring to shilling their film. What I forgot was that Brad’s film The Big Short will also be premiering at the AFI Fest days later. Will Angelina walk that carpet too? Hm. Variety also did a rundown of how the AFI Fest has become a mixed bag of forgotten films and awards contenders, with no real rhyme or reason – go here to read.

That little boy looks a lot like Jon Voight!

  2. Green Jeans says:

How about an independent book store next time?

    • Sea Dragon says:

There’s no such thing as pleasing everybody all the time. Lol

      • smcollins says:

Lol, right? There’s always gotta be something. Going to bookstores seems to be a regular thing. They obviously put a lot of importance in reading, which should be recognized as a good thing instead of honing in on their choice of stores as an excuse to be negative. Give it a rest.

    • Rhiley says:

I think their children love B&N. They are regulars. B&N is to the Jolie-Pitt family as a farmer’s market is to the Garner-Affleck family, a place they all love to shop and hang.

    • Goats on the Roof says:

They’re encouraging reading to children who are being raised in a world of TV, video games, and iPads, and you choose to criticize where they buy the books? Alrighty then.

      • GoodNamesAllTaken says:

Right? Just exhausting. And the independent book store better only sell books made from all recycled materials where no trace toxins were found in the ink and no illegal labor was involved and the owners need to be vegan humanitarian rights workers whose parents weren’t rich and drove hybrid cars.

      • silken_floss says:

IKR?? I can’t with some people on here lol. Damn if they do, damn if they don’t smh

      • FLORC says:

But wouldn’t it be better for eeryone if they printed their own books with homemade paper from recycled items and soy based ink? And then made a donation to n independent bookstore? Only this would work if we never knew about it because then the donation would be for attention and making the paper and books would be taking business away from the struggling bookstore…

Cannot win. And it’s rare I say that.
Just order from amazin or playstore… Call it a day.

    • Bettyrose says:

Green Jeans, that was my first thought too, but then I wondered if any indie book stores are left.

      • byland says:

Come to Houston! Brazos Bookstore is at the forefront, which was in danger of closing years ago until a group of regulars got together and bought the place together in order to keep it open. There’s also Murder by the Book, right across the street from Brazos, which is rather self-explanatory.

There’s even a children’s bookstore way on the other side of town. One of my life goals is actually to open my own. I almost had a location locked down earlier this year, but the owner’s decided not to sell at the last moment, so until I find another place that will work (at a time in my life that will work – hi, what would have been my Dad’s birthday yesterday!), the kiddies shall remain book and muffin free.

There are a few other small stores, not counting a chain of book resale shops, literally called Half-Price Books.

Houston, We Mostly Suck . . . But We Do Have Books!

      • Charlotte15 says:

        @GREEN JEANS, SERIOUSLY?!!

I think it is ridiculous to even bring up (I agree with the commenters who said “Damned if they do, damned if they don’t”), but aside from that, I don’t even think there are many independent bookstores left in NYC. Coliseum and Rizzoli closed years ago, and there aren’t even that many B&N left at this point. I believe (I could be wrong) that Biography Books, a wonderful little bookstore and a West Village institution across the street from Magnolia Bakery, is gone as well. And that was tiny and not particularly kid-friendly anyway. It’s actually incredibly sad. There are a few very small “specialty” shops left, ones that sell only mysteries & cookbooks, Shakespeare & Co. (if it’s even still there), and there’s The Strand, but that isn’t a great place to take small children. More info in this article, which also details how many B&N in NYC have closed:

        http://mobile.nytimes.com/2014/03/26/business/media/bookstores-forsake-manhattan-as-rents-surge.html?referer=&_r=0

Basically it is just insane to find anything to criticize about the fact that they are buying books for their kids. Some people will really find ANYTHING to complain about, SMH.

ETA: I think there is a large Scholastic store in Soho, because I remember them doing big “midnight” events when new Harry Potter books were released. But that would have a much more limited selection of books, could be nowhere near them if they’re staying uptown, and it’s not like Scholastic is exactly “independent” either. (Plus Soho is a complete clusterf*ck of tourists and there would have been many, many more onlookers and photos had they gone there.)

Okay, I will shut up now! This comment just really irritated me because I lived in Manhattan during the time that many of these stores closed, and slowly watched it happen, which as a longtime lover of bookstores, was heartbreaking.

      • Charlotte15 says:

@Byland, I am still laughing at your “slogan!” And I do hope your wish comes true someday 🙂

      • SusanneToo says:

@byland. It’s been awhile since I’ve been to Houston, but you’ve got some great museums, too. I loved the Menil.

      • Carmen says:

Good news, Charlotte: Rizzoli’s reopened. They relocated to 1133 Broadway between 25th and 26th Streets. I was down there just yesterday.

      • byland says:

Probably way too late for this response, but oh well! (It seems my youngest has caught a stomach virus. For joy, just what one wants as they tumble head first into their third trimester.)

@Charlotte15 It’s about the best I can come up with the day after the equal rights ordinance failed to pass miserably. So disapointed in my fellow Houstonians. Even my (almost crazily) conservative father would have voted for it. He and I talked about it towards the end of September, about a week before he died so I actually know it’s true and not something I’m deluding myself into thinking to feel better. Fingers crossed that the run off election for mayor goes the way I hope it will.

Also, thank you! I hope my dream of a children’s book store with outdoor play area, crafting events, daily story time, and a separate – but still partially attached – bakery comes true one day, as well.

@SusanneToo Our museums are wonderful, yes. I’ve adored the Fine Arts Museum since I was a child. The Children’s and Health museums are also old favorite. We have a museum for almost everything, including one dedicated only to the color orange. Seriously. Look up the Orange Museum. Crazy, I know. I hate it, but that’s because I hate the color orange – it induces too many memories of my biological mother. We’re also home to the National Museum of Funeral History. No joke. It’s far actually far cooler than it sounds, if more than a bit disorganized for my Type-A tastes.

When you visted the Menil (those Man Ray’s creep me out) did you also go to the Rothko Chapel? That’s where my husband and I were married, so I have exceedingly fond memories of it and still visit frequently. The Fine Arts Museum is currently showing a special exhibition of Mark Rothko’s work. It just opened in September and I’ve already been over half a dozen times. But I also saw Red on Broadway (and Los Angeles! What’s up Jonathan Groff?) more than once.

    • Pinky says:

Don’t worry. There aren’t many B&Ns left in Manhattan…or anywhere else. So you’ll get half your wish shortly. (It’s just that the independents will be shuttered too!)

    • Fallon says:

      I mean… wow.

  3. Franca says:

Their kids are so incredibly cute. Zahara is my favourite, but they are all gorgeous.

  4. Louise177 says:

Why is it everytime Brad and Angelina get photographed people say it’s a publicity stunt? They even say it when a movie isn’t out for six months. They’re seen because they’re promoting the movie on tv shows and magazines. I always see celebrities more often when doing promotion since they have a schedule and a lot easier to follow. I just don’t understand one set of rules for Brad and Angelina and another set for everybody else.

    • Goats on the Roof says:

Brad and Angie have proven themselves to be fully capable of disappearing and keeping their movements hidden from photogs. Case in point, they had a legal, courthouse wedding here in the states and then a private ceremony in France, and no one had a clue until Brad and Angie released the news themselves. I think it’s totally fair to call this a pap stroll.

      • BNA. FN says:

Brad and Angelina are two of the biggest movie stars in the world. If they are in NYC they are going to be photographed. I see nothing wrong with them taking their children to a book store. Why should they hide their children to make someone who they don’t know happy. Life is too short to stress to light stuff.

      • Goats on the Roof says:

I’ve never said they need to hide their children away. The fact is, I’m certain they take their kids to bookstores and toy stores often, even in NY and LA. Yet we don’t see as many pics as when they don’t have something to promote. I don’t understand why certain fans need to act like Brad and Angie are above doing what others do to promote their projects.

      • V4Real says:

“Brad and Angelina are two of the biggest movie stars in the world. If they are in NYC they are going to be photographed. ”

It’s harder to get papped in NY unless the paps followed you from your hotel or you walked to your destination. I highly doubt AJ and Brad walked to B&N. I guess the question is how did the paps know they were going to be at B&N, that location and that that time.

@Goats on the Roof who said “I don’t understand why certain fans need to act like Brad and Angie are above doing what others do to promote their projects.”

Exactly. It comes with the territory of being in the entertainment industry.

      • Eleonore says:

I completely agree. People give them some sort of pass…but they are exactly like any other celebrity. They are playing the game big time and excellent at it…so excellent in fact that it looks like everything they do is genuine and spontaneous. Remember when Angelina made herself look ridiculous on the Oscar red carpet posing with her leg out…In order to handle the “PR crisis” right away, the very next morning she stepped out with the twins and Brad Pitt’s mother, called the paps of course, and instead of discussing the leg “incident” and digging into it, the media shifted on how cute the twins looked and how normal they all were on that little post Oscar family outing which seemed so genuine and natural…yet it was all planned to shift the conversation from the leg incident. Angelina is a control freak. She loves to be in the position she is in right now ,on top of the Hollywood food chain. In fact it was always her goal. So of course she plays the game. Big time. And she is amazing at that game. If people think she does not have an agenda whenever she does anything publicly, they are completely fooled…but once again it proves how great she is at playing the game. She knows how much the masses like to see her and Brad out with the kids, she knows how fascinated the world is by their family dynamic, and she uses this every chance she gets.

      • Kylie says:

Hahahahaha to @Eleonore’s post. And people are on @neer’s case because she’s over the top with her love and admiration for Angie. But of course being over the top in hatred of Angie is very very acceptable by the same people.

      • FLORC says:

        goats
So because they’ve had success in keeping their movements as private as possible once they get spotted it’s on purpose? You’re reaching.
NY is tough to hide in. And if you’re rarely caught by paps there’s all the more insentive to get you.

And LA/France is where they have the greatest success. NY is a different beast.

    • aang says:

Do they only go to the book store when they are promoting a project? Because we don’t see them all the time, only when it works for them. That said, I have no problem with what they are doing. Many celebs do it. If cute kids and health scares sell movie tickets, more power to them.

      • Colette says:

        See @Paige

      • WinnieCoopersMom says:

health scares? umm… I really hope you aren’t referring to AJ’s double mastectomy and removal of her ovaries. If so, that is unbelievable.

      • Charlotte15 says:

@WinnieCoopersMom I sincerely hope that we BOTH read that incorrectly. I am not even a fan of Angelina, but “health scare?” My head almost exploded.

    • Paige says:

      @Goats @aang
Angelina took the twins to Barnes and Noble in July. Kaiser posted pics. What were they promoting in July? It’s great seeing young children enjoying books.

    • V4Real says:

It’s not just Brad and AJ if you read other posts people say that about a lot of celebs. This is NY, not LA so it is harder to get papped here.
Paps know they are in NY and most likely what hotel they’re in. But how in the hell they know what bookstore they were heading too.

I’m sure Brad and AJ didn’t just walk and the paps followed them, if that was the case we would see a lot of bystanders and I’m sure they would have security. It would be too chaotic for them to just walk down the street even in NY. They most likely were driven to their destination and the paps knew where they were going or the paps gave chase in their cars which is very hard to do in NY traffic.

And yes I believe that AJ and Brad promote their brand just like other celebrities; it’s their jobs.

      • FLORC says:

It’s incredibly easy to find people in NY. Like you stumble upon them.
Every time i’ve gone to NY i’ve done so without meaning to.

  5. lisa2 says:

Why is it surprising that the kids look like Voight; he is their Grandfather; and Angie looks a lot like her father. Jon is a handsome man and has really kept himself in good shape.. I think Knox also reminds me of Brad’s father too.

anyway.. Brad met up with Angie in NYC after leaving Abu Dhabi. So it seems to me the twins missed the Halloween in the US.. so maybe they got a trip to NYC with Mom and Dad.. I saw a tweet pic of Brad and the twins arriving or leaving Abu Dhabi.. where War Machine has wrapped.

Brad looks great.. the man can wear a pair of jeans.. take not George Clooney. I love Angie’s booties.. don’t recall her wearing them before.

    • Naddie says:

It’s curious, I think Angelina’s chin and mouth are Jon’s, but the skin, forehead and eyes are Marcheline’s (she was so very gorgeous!!) .

    • BNA. FN says:

@Lisa 2, I always wonder why there is always someone saying Knox looks like Jon. The thing I noticed is Knox has all his father’s mannerisms. All the children are beautiful and appears well mannered when seen out and about with their parents.

I was thinking the body language is so natural with B&A, then I think about Amal and GC body language seems so off, just an observation. Btw, DM has some great photos of last night.

    • Emma - the JP Lover says:

@Lisa2, who wrote: “Jon is a handsome man and has really kept himself in good shape.. I think Knox also reminds me of Brad’s father too.”

I think Know looks a lot like Brad’s father as well … it’s the eyes and nose. But ultimately, all of the bio kids are a wonderful blend of both their parents, which is why we see so much of their ‘parents’ parents in them. 🙂

      • Emma - The JP Lover says:

Man, auto correct is a pain, isn’t it? Why would it assume that I meant ‘know’ and not ‘Knox?’

    • Artemis says:

Sounds defensive for an innocent (and on point remark. The Voight genes are strong.
It’s not because Jon has a shitty personality that it’s a negative that the the bio JP children look like him.

  6. SusanneToo says:

As a lifelong reader-and retired librarian-I admire and applaud the Pitts for their recognition of the importance of reading for their children. They seem like very good parents.

    • GoodNamesAllTaken says:

      +1

    • Antonym says:

+2, I wish more everyday people I know would stress the importance of reading.

    • Gabrielle says:

Agree. Books are my favorite gift to get and recieve for my son and he never gets bored of it either. I also take him to the library once a week for storytime and taking out books so he always has new ones to read.

      • Wienerdogsmom says:

Good for you!! I always stressed reading to my kids growing up & it seems it’s not the priority it once was or maybe I’m just getting old. I’m still in shock from finding out that my granddaughter isn’t learning cursive writing in school – they don’t teach it anymore here!

      • Jib says:

I’m an English teacher and my kids had hundreds of books when they were growing up. And they all love to read. But many people would rather play Candy Crush than engage in books and ideas.

    • Colette says:

I just read in Time Magazine, that 28 percent of Americans have not read A book this year, not one book. That’s including print and digital books.

      • Charlotte15 says:

        Colette that is so depressing.

      • lower-case deb says:

these days i find myself reading longform articles on my phone (all of the longform aggregator sites i have the app for!) and i just realized that i haven’t bought a book (that’s not a magazine or notebook :D) for myself in years.

i can just read those articles hours on end, swiping away through different stories and topics and writers and moods… come to think of it, the last time i bought a
book was… hmm… can’t remember.2-3 years ago? it was Home by Marilynne Robinson, i remember.

i don’t buy textbooks for my kids anymore since the school/government provides the core textbooks via school now. and my kids but their own YA novels/comic books/whatever, i just realized its been a while since i stepped foot in a physical bookstore (unlike the newsagents or stationers).

        hmmm…

      • FLORC says:

I love reading, but they’re often childrens books to kids. And no shame! I still love making the noises and then turning the book around so they can see the pictures while I put on exaggerated faces. Can’t do that with electronics.

    • Sarah says:

Once I saw a girl about 10 years old sitting on a chair in Chapters (mega-bookstore in Canada) and reading a book very intently. She reminded me of when I was a little girl and would beg to be taken to the library when my parents got home from work because I loved books so much. I told her that growing up was great because when you were a grown up, you could come to the bookstore whenever you wanted and you could buy whatever books you wanted. She thought that was funny 🙂

  7. neer says:

As I understand, AJP even when she was a kid, she loved reading books a lot. I think AJP’s mom passed down so many wonderful habits to her which include the love of reading interesting books.

She is more into what she can learn…. or to learn more about anything… Her interests are even more different from the average: history, culture, politics, religion, foreign & humanitarian/ world affairs and all that stuff. What we think as boring subjects/ topics are the ones that fascinate her. She even has vast collection of FIRST EDITION books.

Now, she gives and passes down to her children the love of reading.

    • Bae says:

“What we think as boring subjects/ topics are the ones that fascinate her.”

Seriously people, you act as if you know the woman. It’s borderline creepy. Give it a rest.

      • zut alors! says:

This particular poster is always “extra”. I like Angelina but the tendency by some to idealize everything about her and her husband is just plain weird. It’s fine to admire them, but this over the top gushing is so cringe worthy (to me). They are human at the end of the day.

      • WinnieCoopersMom says:

Hahaha yes thank you. Who are these commenters, her inner circle members? Strange.

    • Artemis says:

Who’s ‘we’? Socio-political subjects are the most popular in both of the unis I attended and pretty in-demand in general. And many young people are politically active and know their shit. Not that they get employed with all that knowlegde but hey ho, many young people pick passion over employability.
Many young people are aware and read, maybe not paper books but this is 2015 and reading on a Kindle or downloading an e-book counts just as much as buying paper books.

Poor students (like I was) are going to go for the easiest and cheapest option, who cares about editions when it’s the knowledge that counts first and foremost? It’s nice for bragging rights when you have the money but that’s not the case for many and that’s fine too. Like, I can’t with this comment, sorry.

And I like it too that the JP children read of course. It’s wonderful when parents care about these sort of things and so very important for their development. Their creative side is clearly nurtured.

    • Greenieweenie says:

What? These interests are different from average? These are my interests. I’m average, and I made a career out of them.

They may not be your interests but for goodness sake, it’s not like she’s super into Dadaism or Proust, or pottery made from rare earth metals and snail goo.

    • Jayna says:

Meh. We went to the neighborhood library every week as children and checked out books. My mother was an average mother, not a great reader. It’s just what you did as a family. We as a family go to the library often. My sister takes her children to the library weekly.

Taking small children to get books is nothing out of the norm for anyone I know raising small children.

      • Charlotte15 says:

Jayna, exactly. It was just what people did and now I see my friends taking their own kids to the library weekly and signing them up for story time and summer reading programs and whatnot. I mean, good for Brangelina, but they did not invent reading to one’s children!
I also remember that while my parents didn’t have a ton of money for fancy electronics and stuff, they would ALWAYS let me buy books. I would go to the bookstore with my dad as I got a little older and come home with a big stack of them. To act like Brad & Angelina are doing something incredibly novel and wonderful is plainly ridiculous. I’m glad their kids like books, but many others do too FFS!

    • lucy2 says:

“history, culture, politics, religion, foreign & humanitarian/ world affairs and all that stuff.”
I know lots of people, myself included, who are interested in and read about those topics all the time, and lots of people who encourage their children to read and read themselves.
There’s no need to turn every ordinary thing Jolie does into a superhero effort.

      • korra says:

“There’s no need to turn every ordinary thing Jolie does into a superhero effort.”

This, but insert any celeb there. I really like Angelina Jolie, but her fans and non fans are nuts.

    • Kylie says:

@Neer, you’re fine. Keep on posting your love and admiration for Angie. It’s not harming anyone.

  8. lowercaselois says:

I guess for Jolie-Pitt kids ,Barnes and Noble is like the public library for my kids.

  9. Greenieweenie says:

Finally, good shoes. May she burn all of those stupid nude ballet flats.

    • vauvert says:

Why? I swear people on this site have an obsession with shoes and hate any pair that looks comfortable. I like a nice pair of heels, whether booties or shoes, as much as anyone, but wearing heels every day is not good for your feet or your back. (This is a pet peeve of mice as both my mother and grandmother have/had massive health issues in their later years due to wearing stupid heels all their lives. Even now, although my mom can barely walk and needs surgery, she looks at my flats and asks me why I can’t put on “pretty” shoes. It boggles my mind).

      • Greenieweenie says:

They make her look like Olive Oyl (Oil??)! I have nothing against comfort, but she was wearing those nude flats ca 2003 and it is time to move on. There are these things called trainers, even.

      • Nikki says:

Someone please tell me what “trainers” are. Thanks in advance!

      • Tallia says:

        @Nikki – running shoes.

      • SamiHami says:

Trainers are what w call sneakers in the US. I almost never wear them; I like my flats very much and don’t see why anyone would criticize them. I am tall and feel like an amazon in heels. I’d much rather be comfortable in my pretty flats.

      • Cran says:

@ Vauvert I realize it is a typo and you meant mine not mice but you have made my day.

The idea of mice having a pet peeve over the wearing of high heels has had me laughing all day. The pictures rolling through my brain are priceless.

That these mice have such compassion for the toes of your mother and grandmother warms the cockles of my heart:)

My gerbils were rather indifferent I must say.

    • Antonym says:

I have booties that look nearly identical to the ones AJ is wearing in these photos. When I saw that I braced myself self for the “shoe hate” that seems to happen regularly. Seems I may have good taste, according to celebitchy (the bf still hates them, lol).

    • SusanneToo says:

Audrey Hepburn almost always wore flats and nobody ever accused her of being badly dressed. Flats are great, even for shorties like me.

PS. @vauvert. Did you see my response yesterday? That was sarcasm I was trying for.(note to self: don’t try it again-it’s not in your wheelhouse.)

      • vauvert says:

Suzanne Too: 😃I did when I went back later to read:-; sorry about that, after all the horrible stuff I had read I completely missed the sarcasm. Usually I am quicker on the ball than that… I just get tired of hearing her bashed as if she had personally ruined western civilization, unmanned Brad, drank the blood of virgins and shouldn’t speak up about her health issues because she didn’t have “real” cancer. Ugh.
I like both the booties and her flats. I find them comfy. But shoes are a loaded topic around here😜

      • Greenieweenie says:

But did she wear NUDE ballet flats with a stupid hidden wedge day after day for fifteen years?

It was fresh in 2003. It’s dead, done and gone in 2015 is all I’m saying. Pick a different flat!!

      • V4Real says:

“Audrey Hepburn almost always wore flats and nobody ever accused her of being badly dressed.”

They would have if there was easy access to the internet back then. 🙂

Did I miss the memo that flats went out of style? Not even being sarcastic! I thought they were timeless. I never stopped wearing flats and (not that I care, but celebrities are papped every day in ballet flats). I certainly don’t think they went out of style in 2003. I’m in Manhattan a lot and see tons of women wearing Angie’s Chloe flats every day.

    • Charlotte15 says:

It’s funny, I know the general consensus on this site was hatred of her ballet flats, but I LOVED those, the ones with the scalloped edges by Chloe. Obviously I cannot afford to spend hundreds of dollars on a pair of shoes, but I was unreasonably excited to see that Lauren Conrad knocked off the Chloe ones and I was able to get virtually identical ones at Kohl’s for $29. I think the scalloped edging is so pretty, and flats are soooo comfortable. But I know I am in the minority on CB 🙂

  10. Liz says:

They’re both using their children and her dead mother to sell a movie. So transparent.

    • Jayna says:

      OMG.

    • DianaM. says:

Yes – they should never be seen with their children and she should never talk about her mother. Actually, the best thing would be if she disapeared from public life completely, wouldn’t it Liz? 😉

    • Bae says:

I wouldn’t say they’re using it per se, but it’s getting uncomfortable. Other celebrities would get called out for promoting a movie solely on their personal lives.

      • DianaM. says:

They are not promoting it solely on their personal lives. Angelina gave an interview to EW in which she talks only about the movie. In her Vogue profile, in Brad’s V quotes, they talked a lot about the movie. Of course, media picks quotes about their personal lives to post and repost on all sites – this is what people comment on, being fans or not – this is what increases traffic.

      • Maya says:

Sandra Bullock promoted her latest flop purely on her personal life – talked about her son, new boyfriend, ex husband etc. I don’t see her being called out for that especially not for using her chil for publicity..

Jennifer Aniston only talks about her personal life when promoting her flops – she never gets called out.

George Clooney only talked about his marriage Amal for his latest movie and what do you know – he wasn’t called out.

      • Jayna says:

@Maya, George was called out big time on here.

I never had a problem with her talking about her life and about their life as a couple since they are promoting a movie they are acting in as a couple. I just thought the Today Show interview had mostly that and little about the movie, nothing about the plot, vague, which she doesn’t want to really talk about.

George suffered the same problem, talking about everything but the plot of the movie, apparently because that was the studio’s strategy, something about the plot hard to describe. Vagueness doesn’t help.. It backfired.

    • Charlotte15 says:

What on earth does Angelina’s late mother have to do with literally anything?

    • WinnieCoopersMom says:

I think you are a blatant troll. Moving on, AJ’s health issues and surgeries are very recent and very relevant – and her mother’s death is very much a part of that conversation. She is shedding light on very important issues that women deal with that aren’t discussed much in the open. How can someone put that down like it’s a media tool to promote her movie? She has been open about it all way before this movie was discussed. Does she also adopt children out of poverty and war-torn areas for her PR? Now, please stop trolling. Thanks.

      • Wienerdogsmom says:

@WCM – I am clapping reading your comment. I’m not a fan or non-fan of AJP but I found it very brave of her to be so open & honest about her mastectomy & ovary removal. She saw what cancer can do & wanted to try to prevent her children from losing their mother the way she had. She never had to go public with her decisions or surgeries but she did to open discussions & bring awareness to female cancers. I commend her for that.

  11. BNA. FN says:

I don’t understand why the non fans are so troubled that some of us are fans of Brad and Angelina. The reason the fans are here is because this is a thread about B&A. I know I don’t worship them but I’m a fan and I will post positive comments about them. If I was a fan of someone else I would not be here complaining about what their fans are saying.

    • Bae says:

Because some of the fans act incredibly creepy and attack anyone who has a slightly negative opinion, not to mention the fact that they mention Jennier Aniston and her fans completely unprovoked. They make these threads very uncomfortable for people who have a passing interest in Brad and Angelina.

      • FingerBinger says:

Creepy doesn’t even begin describe some of the comments.

      • Lilian says:

@Bae could not have said it better myself.

      • Colette says:

I feel the same way about Aniston fans bringing up this family, creepy.

      • Tina says:

When they have the next thread about Jennifer Aniston or Justin Theroux, I will make sure I say something negative, then you will see creepy fans. I’m not sure why JoliePitt fans are always criticized.

      • Rachel says:

No dog in this race, but I find it interesting that the only ones bringing up JA in this thread are so-called loonies. Seems like JA fans and AJ fans are birds of a feather….Just sayin…..

      • Catelina says:

I have WAY more than a passing interest in Brad and Angelina but many of the comments on their threads make me uncomfortable. The slightest hint of criticism towards either one of them, or anything that isn’t out and out praise is pounced on. Being a fan doesn’t mean thinking everything they do is perfection.

      • V4Real says:

@Bae spot on. It is creepy the way they talk about these two as if they know them personally or always go on the attack if you say something negative about the couple.

      • Tina says:

I will remember these comments can not wait for the next thread on Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux. Will be looking for you guys.

      • Maya says:

@Tina: lol don’t ever expect these hypocrites to do that on a Jennifer Aniston thread…

They act all sanctimonious and constantly critize us Brangelina fans but they themselves attack others on other threads.

These same people came on to me like a pack of wolves a few months ago when I dared to write negative stuff on Jennifer. Infact they were very vicious and rude towards me and now here they are claiming people should be allowed to write negative stuff and that it’s the fans who are “crazy”.

      • mayamae says:

@Bae, it can be a hostile environment. I love this family, and always have. What’s funny is most people I know think I’m overly invested because I know all the children’s names, and where they were born. But sometimes it feels OTT when people can quote chapter and verse on where Brad/Angelina and each of the kids is every hour of the day.

And sometimes people seem to be able to quote right off the top of their heads, verbatim, who said what in which article, which magazine, and the date in which it happened. Then there are people who can name each and every one of Angie’s friends. They know the birth dates of the children and call them Madd, Z, Shi, Vivi – as if they’re closely acquainted with the family. Then references like – Z’s the little mother and Vivi is Angie’s shadow and clings to her mommy.

What bothers me most is the constant references to what’s said in forums such as FF. I don’t understand why the posters here have to be held accountable for the hate that’s posted over there. If I wanted that kind of negativity in my life, I’d be on FF daily. It’s not relevant to what happens here, and frankly, I don’t want to hear about it. I honestly don’t know why someone who loves this family so much seeks out that level of hate. For example, I’m a Liberal so I avoid Fox News. Otherwise I would be stroking out daily.

As to why some may not scold JA fans in her posts, I avoid it because they’re in the minority. It would be like scolding the AJ fans in the FF forums (I’m assuming AJ fans post there since they carry over all the info here). But it’s tiresome how JA is dragged into these threads, especially the strange person who goes off in tirades of referring to JA/JT as a “senior citizen couple”, which is not only ageist, it’s untrue, and clearly posted by someone unaware that Brad is in his fifties.

I have been attacked in these threads on a level I’ve only seen in the Kate Middleton threads. I’ve been called a racist, and accused of making racial comments against Zahara. It’s offensive, and it’s honestly unstable. I’ve posted here for about four years. Anyone can go back and read my posts. I have nothing to hide, yet I’ve come to avoid posting because it’s just too stressful, and I don’t need to read how horrible of a person I am.

      • Tina says:

Maya I feel you, I see you being jumped on a lot ,they are like the Thread Poster Police , always telling the JoliePitt fans what they can and can not say. If we are on a JoliePitt thread, we can not praise them or correct any comment made about the JoliePitts.

If we are on a Aniston-Theroux thread, we are always hating on the couple and have not moved on if we say anything negative. They make it very hard and uncomfortable for me to post. I remember saying I thought it was crazy to take a bunch of people on your honeymoon. OMG, you would have thought I had said something personal about their own honeymoon.

      • Maya says:

@Tina: whats really funny is that these people constantly bother me when I am one of the few ones here who never personally attack any commentator, I don’t write anything vile or am I rude towards someone else and yet I am the one who gets attacked.

It’s like these people just cannot stand the fact that we like Brangelina and write positive stuff about them. Anything we write – they claim its worship and that we don’t have any lives.

Anything positively written = worship and not allowed while anything negatively written = just an opinion and allowed.

My advice is just write whatever you want to write and just ignore the others – it’s only if it is something really stupid written that I comment back.

      • Paige says:

        @Lilian
Comments like “bolt-ons” I’ve seen it on CB and comments saying she’s using her mother for a movie are ridiculous. Then you have the people that feel the need to be snarky and mean-spirited to other posters because they have a positive opinion. It’s wrong to jump down someone’s throat for positive comments and negative comments. Some people just want to troll. I’ve posted on CB for a long time, and there are just as many overzealous trolls on Jolie Pitt articles, as there are overzealous Jolie Pitt fans. It’s bad either way.

    • Lilian says:

Guys this is a gossip site. Guess what I read all the articles and the comments section is my favorite part. In this specific instance people get worked up and take things too personally. You don’t know these people. Angelina, Jennifer, all of them seem to use whatever means possible to thier own advantage to promote thier projects. Good for them, that’s thier job. Guess what though, if I want to call one of them out on it that’s my perogitive! If u Go around to blogs and look at every post made about your idol and attack the poster because u don’t agree with what they say, You are not a fan. You are an obsessive bully! If someone is saying something horrible like wishing death then by all means jump in there, otherwise This is the Internet and not North Korea. Guess what else? Your idol doesn’t need u defending them! They are all wealthy and successful people.

      • chloe says:

Lilian you’ve hit the nail on the head with this quote, ” If u Go around to blogs and look at every post made about your idol and attack the poster because u don’t agree with what they say, You are not a fan. You are an obsessive bully!”

  12. Suzanne says:

Dragon Lady in black…never deviates from basic black. BORING. Maybe she has a secret fantasy about becoming a nun. Who cares if they took the kids book shopping? They’re people who get paid big money for their mediocre acting ability. Throw in some charitable work…and bingo…you’ve got any other human being on the planet minus millions of dollars which the public provides them because of their worship of Hollywood types. End of story.

  13. siya says:

Image projection. Disappear when you want and then make certain appearance which project a certain image.

  14. Tallia says:

Oh look Brad in a hat, colored lense glasses and a scarf. Yep, he had some work done.
She looks good, but the b@@bs just do not fit her frame. She needs something more natural looking. I wish I had something with some substance to say, but I have not seen the movie yet and I do not like to make comments on children. I don’t even like that they are photographed, the parents should have to give permission. IMHO.

    • Lauren II says:

Angie looks unhealthy. Receding hairline and very gaunt. Brads face looks like rubber.
      Their children are very beautiful.

  15. Missa says:

I just love that their kids are always dressed like KIDS, and not mini fashion models/accessories. You could find kids on any elementary school playground in the country in the same outfits. Okay, maybe not the SAME, since the clothes probably aren’t from Target or Wal-Mart, but sweatshirts, long sleeve tees and comfy pants? Definitely. 🙂

    • Goo says:

I just wished the children had the opportunity to attend an “elementary school playground”. Really sad that they are missing all of it.

      • Leonie says:

Yes because all homeschooled children miss out, because they don’t set foot on an elementary school playground. smh

  16. apricotvodka says:

I like her new booties…thin as a needle.

  17. QQ says:

I need to copy her little outfit top to bottom

  18. desertrose says:

Try a little color sometime Angie. Always dressed like she’s in some deep dark depression. Good grief.

    • V4Real says:

Hey, 90% of my wardrobe is Black. It’s just so easy to match with anything, including more black.

    • SusanneToo says:

I live in the South and even here I wear black, charcoal and chocolate almost always. Darks suit me and Angie, also. Let her wear what she wants.

    • Maya says:

So now she is not allowed to wear whatever colour she wants????

      • Goo says:

Unless its the red carpet, a premiere or pimping a new movie, she is ALWAYS in black. Old, and extremely boring! And yes, she can wear what ever color she chooses, but it is always black. And please, don’t give me the “she has never been inerested in fashion” crap.

      • Maya says:

Again it’s her choice – there are other celebs who only wears black to the red carpet. Any comments on them? No? I thought so…

      • Goo says:

Maya, what you don’t seem to understand is this is a post about the Jolie and Pitt. Not “other” celebs.

      • Paige says:

What’s wrong with her wearing black? Y’all act like she’s committing a crime by wearing black all the time.

  19. WinnieCoopersMom says:

The kids are gorgeous. Vivienne will be such a heart breaker! I would hate to be any guy trying to date one of Brad Pitt’s daughters, I could see him messing with HS boys..

Boy knocks on the door to pick up one of the daughters. Brad answers the door, “Yes, son, I have been expecting you. Please, come, have a seat.” Brad seats him in a dark room, sits right across from him, “Son, did you ever see Fight Club?” Silence. “Ok you kids have fun now!” Boy trails behind the girl, Brad whispers in his ear “Fight. Club.” Kids scamper off, boy shaking, Brad smiling big, waving, “Buckle up!” Laughing as he closes the door.

  20. My two cents says:

Man, I don’t know what it is about these Brad & Angie posts that seem to bring out eccentric pro and con comments. I am just absolutely floored. What little I know of both of them, they seem like good, caring people. At the end of the day isn’t that all that really matters? Some people comment like they know exactly what’s up in B & A’s evil little minds in every picture. My goodness!

    • hogtowngooner says:

I know what you mean, but I do find it slightly head-scratching that people don’t realize that B&A play the PR game just as much as anyone else. They’re just more stealth about it. But so many people want to believe this black or white story about their whole relationship that there’s no room for fun, gossipy debate. So many commenters come in with gloves up ready for a fight that it makes it not fun.

  21. FLORC says:

Love her bags, shoes, and coats. Kids of gorgeous. I admire her humanitarian work, but i’m not an extreme so i’ll be leaving. Carry on!
