Rebel Wilson wouldn’t present with Kylie & Kendall Jenner: they have no ‘talent’

Rebel Wilson

Rebel Wilson is doing the press rounds in her native Australia, although I’m not sure what she’s promoting. She does have a new plus-sized clothing line with Torrid, which is available in the US. Rebel spoke with an Aussie radio station about how MTV invited her to present at this year’s VMAs, but she declined, which is interesting because Rebel hosted the MTV Movie Awards in 2013. She’s game to help out MTV and likewise, but she didn’t approve of her proposed co-hosts.

Rebel did not want to present alongside Kylie and Kendall Jenner as suggested by MTV. She doesn’t poke fun of either of the girls in particular, but she’s not a fan of the Kardashian Klan, and says the sisters have “no talent” to speak of. Boom:

Rebel Wilson spoke to Kyle and Jackie O on air. She’s doing Australia proud over in LA, starring in some of the most popular movies and now getting into fashion. But that’s not the juiciest info she divulged on air.

She told Kyle and Jackie O how she was asked to present at the recent MTV VMA Awards but declined. “I got asked to present with Kendall and Kylie at the recent VMAs and said ‘no.’ It’s not that you hate any of them individually, but it’s just that everything they stand for is against everything I stand for. And they’re not famous for talent. I worked really hard to get where I’ve gotten to.”

“But why would they team you with Kendall and Kylie? That seems random.” Jackie asked.

“I think if I was going to dress up as Kim Kardashian if I did it.” She then went on to discuss Kim’s rise to fame: “I mean how Kim Kardashian got famous from the sex tape and I just went to acting school and worked really hard.”

[From KIIS 1065]

Kris Jenner will see Rebel’s words as the ultimate insult, but Rebel can do as she pleases. Seriously, remember when Kendall flubbed her lines at the Billboard awards and then giggled out loud about how she couldn’t read? That right there is reason enough to never present alongside a Kardashian, and Kendall is perhaps the least annoying of all of the women in the family.

As for the Kardashian’s having “no talent,” it’s pretty true. They’re not famous for any skill set except self-promotion, but hey, there’s evidently a market for that ability. This whole conversation reminds me of when Barbara Walters said the same thing to Kim, and she said her talent was “making people fall in love” with her. That’s still funny!

    No lies in here!

  2. Meandyou says:

She is absolutely right. The Kardashian klan has no discernible talent and we’d all be doing ourselves a favor if we never clicked on any of their stories in the hope that they’ll eventually go away. I love the fact that Lainey never features any of thw Kardashians in her blog. Love it! Wish CB would do the same.

As for Rebel, it must have stung to go from host to presenting with the Kardashians though to be honest, which major talents even go to that show?

  3. Pies says:

    Bless her heart

  4. Mimz says:

    Yeah, I don’t know…
They are famous because they are famous, and have no discernible talent, yes. But I think Rebel is not one to say much, its not like she’s the most talented actress in the world, she’s famous because she makes fun of herself (although I don’t really think she’s that funny) and her body type, and lied about her age, and her name, and a bunch of other stuff.
Same thing every kardash does (except the age).

    • vauvert says:

She may not be the funniest, correct, but she is right about one thing, whatever fame she achieved she earned through her talent, limited as it may be. We all know how the K family earned their fame.

    • GoodNamesAllTaken says:

I have mixed feelings, too. I agree the Jenner/Kardashian women are basically talent-free, and if Rebel objects to that and wants to refuse to work with them, ok, but to tell everybody about it seems really callous and deliberately mean. There are few things less attractive than deliberate unkindness. Was this necessary? I don’t think it was.

      • Kitten says:

I agree with what you said about deliberate unkindness being unnecessary but I didn’t read what she said as “mean”, just truthful. Mean to me would be if she started commenting about their appearance or just saying rude things for the sake of being rude. She was asked point-blank why she declined to host and she answered honestly, which I find refreshing. I would feel differently if she just randomly volunteered to criticize the Kardashians, but within context of the question she was asked, I think she was quite right to say what she did–she handled an awkward question well IMO.

Honestly, whatever you think about Rebel (and I’m pretty ambivalent to her) she succeeded DESPITE her unconventional looks. She worked hard to show people that she was talented, funny and more than just a plus-sized frame. I can’t help but respect her for that and I do think she’s earned the right to criticize those who have had everything handed to them.

        I’m actually Team Rebel here.

      • Decorative Item says:

Personally, I want to hear more people say this and say it loud. It’s makes me sad that the K. Klan have any influence over young people, or any people for that matter. They promote vapidity, vanity and greed and if you don’t call them out then it becomes an excepted norm.
You may or may not like Rebel, but she has two degrees and worked her way up in the business and so has my respect. Not saying shes perfect but I’d take her over a K. any day. JMHO.

      • GoodNamesAllTaken says:

I actually do like her. And if she had been asked about it, then I see no reason for her to lie. I didn’t understand or read it that she was asked a question about it – I thought she just volunteered the information. And believe me, Decorative, I would take her or almost anyone over the Kardashian women, too. I think what Rebel said was true, and I understand why it bugs her. I just feel squeamish about randomly saying things that you know will hurt someone else. It seems unnecessary to me, whether I agree with her or not.

      • Decorative Item says:

@ GNAT You are a lovely person and I agree that unnecessary name calling isn’t cool. In this case I take exception simply because they use the media to spread all sorts of vicious lies about others. I see it as using fire to beat fire. And, honestly, the negative influence these ladies have on women and society saddens me.

      • Kitten says:

Gnatty you really do have a heart of gold ♥

“the negative influence these ladies have on women and society saddens me”

Oh my god me too, Decorative Item, me too…

    • Meandyou says:

So only a major talent is allowed to say that to be put in the same boat as a Kardashian is embarrassing? Rebel lied about her age and so did Jessica Chastain and maybe CZJ. Who could blame her in a world that values looks (read:thinnes) and youth above talent.

She must be funny to some people because she seems to be doing ok and she can be proud that she achieved all that on her own and not by having a boyfriend pee on her or having her mom pimp her all over the place.

      • jwoolman says:

The late great Gracie Allen kept everybody in the dark about her real age – she may have fudged it by at least ten years. Even Wikipedia can’t pin it down. Her refusal to give her age was even incorporated into some of her comedy routines on the Burns&Allen show. When some official asked how old she was, she replied “I’d rather not say.” He suggested she just discreetly write it down and handed her paper and pencil. Of course she wrote, “I’d rather not say”….

Jack Benny was 39 for decades. My mother was 29 so long that it became hard to explain how she had a son in his twenties…. We suggested she take on a Jack Benny 39 instead, but she was comfortable staying 29.

    • ISO says:

That’s what all celebrities need to have the balls to do- boycott the soulless advertisers!

    • Hannah says:

What do you mean? Only meryl Streep and Daniel day Lewis are allowed to critique the Kardashians? 😂
Look whatever you think of her level of talent ,she has some comedic talent, she bothered to go to acting school and you know like actually get an education and work hard at a craft. She’s still miles ahead of someone who got famous for a sex tape or because they post insta photos of their surgically enhanced lips, butt or boobs. Rebel can be proud that she achieved her career on her own behalf.
      @goodnamesalltaken
Their brother in law Kanye does this all the time to other people. Rebel didn’t say anything worse than he did about Bruno Mars, beck, Taylor and a long list of people a khloe and kylie can be pretty bitchy on social media too. Their mother is the queen of mean. I don’t really get why peoole should feel sorry for the. It’s the truth and sometimes the truth has to be uttered for things to change.

      • SloaneY says:

This^^. I’m also sure she probably figured that she’d be the butt of some awful joke while presenting with them as well.
It’s nice that she’s calling out the status quo.

      • Decorative Item says:

        Truth!

      • antipodean says:

The saying “tell the truth and shame the devil” was invented for this exact circumstance.

      • Dhavynia says:

        Well put Hanna

Why this Klan getting all this sympathy? And who the hell doesn’t lie about their age in Hollywood? I’m sure if the internet would not be around a lot of other women would still lie about it. Rebel may not be funny to some but she answered with the truth. It’s sad what this family has done just for fame and sadder that people buy it
I have called out people at work for being where they are because of nepotism or who they “know” and while some might not like it, they can’t say the same about me because I have worked hard and no one has handed me anything
OK now I vented and I feel better (sorry)

    • Nancy says:

GNAT: I think her point was that she studied for her craft, whether she succeeds only time will tell. She was hysterical in Bridesmaids and got everyone’s attention. The genesis of the Kardashian’s “fame” was Kim’s first movie role. That didn’t require much talent, just the ruthless heart of her mother and others to garner it into never ending Kardashian garbage. In the end, Rebel is trying to be an actress, while the Kardashians will always be known for the question: what are they famous for…..right, Kim’s sex tape and butt.

      • paranormalgirl says:

She went to acting school? Wasted time and money. There’s something about her I find so off-putting and I don’t think she’s very good at her “craft.” But her clothing line looks quite nice. And she is entitled to her opinion, though I would probably refrain from throwing such specific stones unless she’s looking for a publicity war…. oh wait. Yeah.

      • SloaneY says:

I think she’s quite smart about her career. She knows that (sadly) with her body type she is not likely to be a mainstream actress. She’s found a niche, a character that works well for her and gets her roles. Hollywood isn’t kind to people who aren’t stereotypical beauties, and you have to do what works for you to get noticed.

      • Kitten says:

I agree, Nancy. Regardless of whether you think she’s funny or not, Rebel has managed to succeed in the male-dominated field of comedy, a field which has been historically unkind and unwelcoming to women.

Like her or not, that is an unquestionable achievement.

      • minime says:

        @ paranormalgirl

I actually find her quite hilarious (different strokes and all of that…).
Still I would have more admiration for “wasted time and money” in pursuing an education than for someone who leaked some home made pr*n to get famous or just lives on the so achieved fame by proxy. I think it’s good she doesn’t want to be associated with talentless celebrities, professional of nothing.

      • GoodNamesAllTaken says:

        @Nancy
Yes, I agree that was her point and it’s a fair one. I have said on here before that my problem with the Kardashians is that they create nothing, give nothing to the world but their notoriety. They’re famous for being famous. I totally get why Rebel is put off. I don’t know, maybe I’m too hypocritical and dishonest in the guise of being “nice” or too worried about being nice. It just felt uncomfortable to me. I would feel the same way if someone with more fame said they refused to be on the same stage as she was because they thought she was untalented or not funny.

      • paranormalgirl says:

Hey, I’m no fan of the Kardashians. I think they are part of the annoying breed of people famous for being famous for nothing at all, really. I just don’t think it’s necessary to throw stones. And I personally don’t care for her or her brand of “comedy.”

      • Leah says:

        @paranormalgirl
Every actor who is serious about acting goes to acting school at least here in the uk, saying its a waste of time would be quite arrogant. As if any of us can just turn up on set and deliver a performance with no acting classes behind us.

      • paranomalgirl says:

Right… except that’s not what I meant. I meant in my opinion, SHE wasted her time and money because she’s not very good. I never said acting school was a waste of time. One of my best friends studied with the RSC and another graduated from Tisch School of the Arts at NYU.

    • The Eternal Side-Eye says:

…she’s a comedian? I don’t think you have to like her style of comedy or the movies she’s done but the accomplishments she has she actually worked for as opposed to sleeping her way to success.

    • Fluff says:

Rebel is an actress and comedian – opinions might differ as to her level of talent, but she does have an actual, proper career, and her fame is entirely the result of her job as an actress. The Kardashians are famous for being famous, not any actual job. Okay, Kendell is developing a very good career as a model, which is a legit career, but she’s still more famous for being part of the Kardashian clan, than she is for her modelling job.

    • Mimz says:

Well yeah maybe it’s just me not liking her, and finding out all of those lies about her name, her school, her age and some little “white lies” kind of irritated me… She worked hard to get to where she is now, and that’s awesome, but please, don’t ruin it by making the stereotypes for us chubby girls so. much. worse. Her short-lived series showed that and her pitch perfect schtick too.

anyway I didn’t mean that only A+List actors can criticize the Kardashians, I do criticize and despise what they stand for, everyday, but I think my personal opinion of Rebel clouded my judgement and made me say something that I can clearly see that is stupid.

      Okay Bye !

    • boredblond says:

The K’s have never pretended to have talent..they know exactly why they made the big $..they are professional fame ho’s and professional celebs..no illusions. This is the MTV awards for heaven’s sake– certainly not known for showcasing lofty talent, but its outrageous moments,,why else would anyone watch?

    • Ange says:

Yeah, I mean I love Rebel but I found her genuinely terrible in pitch perfect 2, like take me out of the movie bad. I don’t know if it was just how she chose to play that character but she was a monotone charisma suck the whole film. It was disappointing they focused so much on her when she had so little to give.

    • lucy says:

I appreciate the call-out as no-talents re Jenner-Dashians, but isn’t Rebel Wilson also the Pot calling the kettle black?

  5. Nancy says:

Rebel for President. The only candidate that speaks the truth. Amen

  6. vauvert says:

Please Lord, let this become a trend! Hope no one ever mentions them again! It can be done, Lainey has a firm policy of never talking about any of the klan and her site is doing fine. (I have issues with some of her opinions and biases, but her stance on the klan is awesome.)

    • Goats on the Roof says:

I flipping love Lainey’s refusal to report on the Klan. I wish more sites (this one included) would adopt a similar policy.

      • original kay says:

this site is very pro kardashian. makes me wonder.
I wish they would not report as well. I try not to click the K links.
and ftr, I agree with Rebel.

      • Rice says:

I refuse to read any “story” about that Klan. I only came here for the Rebel With a Cause.

      • The Eternal Side-Eye says:

        @original may

        Yup, very pro.

      • Pandy says:

I’ve been looking at the comment numbers on Klan stories lately – they aren’t that high anymore. I think we all realize that we need to not click and respond to their stories in order to make the coverage go away – just like we did with Parasite Hilton.

      • Decorative Item says:

Yep! I try not to comment on K. Klan stories. Sometime I get so frustrated with the idiocy that I can’t help myself, but I try. Stories about them are just easy fillers for gossip mags, sites etc. People love to hate them, just like P.H., and for that reason alone they get loads of hits.
The K. Klan promote women as being good for nothing but sex. Rebel has two degrees and a terrific work ethic. Love or hate her, she’s got depth and substance.

    • 454g says:

      To stop those Kardashians, one-two-three,
      Here’s a fresh new way that’s trouble-free;
      It’s got Paul Anka’s guarantee …
      Guarantee void in Tennessee!
Just don’t look! Just don’t look!

  7. Mia V. says:

Their talent is to milk every single drop of their lack of talent and fake asses.

  8. Liz says:

I’m Rebel’s new fan!!! I cannot understand the fascination with that group of no talent and zero personality hustlers. That is why I don’t ever click or comment on any of their stories. I cannot wait until people stop making them successful.

  9. Sabrina says:

Finally, a celebrity saying what most of us think. It seems like lately there are too many celebrities that have been praising the Kardashian/Jenner family. I make a point of not clicking on any stories about them but still know far too much about them just from reading headlines.

I would definitely support Rebel’s clothing line if I lived in the US.

    • Kitten says:

That’s exactly it. If she had sugar-coated her statement or tried to remain diplomatic, it really wouldn’t make a difference because we’d all know what she was thinking anyway. But I appreciate that she was so upfront about it.

    • Holmes says:

Sabrina, you can order online–I know Torrid does international shipping, although it may not be free.

  10. paolanqar says:

I am no Kardashian fan but I still think she shouldn’t have named names. Life is weird, one day you’re up and one day you’re down.
With this statement I now feel like questioning if she has true talent herself because her jokes are always the same and she repeats them over and over in different talk show.
She’s too young in this business to talk smack about anybody, even if it’s a Kardashian.
She could have landed a statement with the same strong effect without dropping names. She comes across snooty, pretentious, mean and a bit jelous.
She’s just went down a notch, not very classy in my opinion.

    • original kay says:

meh. every time someone mentions the reason kim is famous is because of her sex tape, the better. It’s a sad commentary on society, really.

    • Jegede says:

      @paolanquor – Agreed.

    • dr mantis toboggan says:

Rebel’s been in the biz a long time, only recently found success in America. There are other countries in the world besides America

    • paolanqar says:

I live in one of those countries in the world that are ‘besides America’ but she had the biggest success there.
She might have been working in Australia all her life but she became famous worldwide only through Pitch perfect or Bridesmaids.
She is still very young to call out other celebrities for their contribution to the show business.
This story has tacky written all over it.

      • Fluff says:

And your point in pointing out that she’s “only” a worldwide celebrity for starring in “only two” massive worldwide smash hit movies?

It wouldn’t matter if she was an unknown who’d only ever done fringe theatre, she still has a legitimate job (acting) and the Kardashians don’t.

    • Decorative Item says:

She may be young but she has TWO degrees and promotes women in as positive light as opposed to sex objects. You don’t have to get her humor but she is more than qualified to comment.

      • dani says:

@decorativeitem AGREE. I don’t mind an educated, older woman with more self respect telling it how it so obviously is. She wasn’t putting them down, just speaking her mind. Maybe it’s just me, but I prefer a woman who is honest.

  11. BengalCat2000 says:

I think Kendall is the most annoying of the Klan.

    • Allie says:

      Agreed!!

    • FingerBinger says:

I think Kendall is the least annoying. At least she has a job.

    • parissucksliterally says:

Really? KhloeBeast wins by a landslide for me, as far as worst Kardashian. Kylie/Kim tied for 2nd.

    • WinnieCoopersMom says:

How can Kendall be the most annoying? She is like the one who is the least obnoxious. I think she tries to be super low-key but PMK pushes her. She actually seems like an introvert who wants to model and blow off the klan as much as she can. side note: PMK literally follows her around to her fashion shows when Kendall has been vocal about not wanting her there.

  12. Naddie says:

Well said, Rebel. They’re not even interesting, I always skip their posts.

    • cd3 says:

Yes! They are the ultimate in boring mediocrity. People were bashing Emily R. on another post as being mediocre, but the Kardashians are really the poster children for that. I always skip the seemingly endless Kardashian posts on this site.

  13. ncboudicca says:

Yeah, sorry, not a Kardashian/Jenner fan here, but I do think that they’ve “worked hard” for their money, especially Kim. Those girls and their mother never stop hustling.

  14. InvaderTak says:

So instead of presenting with the Kardashian Klan she presented by herself and decided to make a joke using police brutality as a punch line. Got it. She’s way too self righteous about this imo. It’s really not a big deal and it was ages ago. And the Kardashian publicity machine still got her the publicity she wanted! So yeah, not seeing how this is counter Kardashian at all.

    • Erinn says:

Yeah, I thought it was just as classless as the K-Klan shenanigans. Rebel is reasonably talented I guess – she’s amusing. But it’s not like she’s made her money on pure talent – most of the time she’s mocking herself, and has lied about herself because she knows to get anywhere in HWood you have to fit a certain group.

I’m so tired of the constant “well Kim’s famous for having a sex tape”. Who the eff cares that it was a sex tape? If a woman wants to make a sex tape – whatever. I don’t care. Clearly the family is at the very least resourceful – they’ve managed to stay super present for years. Like it or not, they’re popular. They might not be talented for a specific craft, but they damn well know how to market themselves and how to keep themselves a household name. And at least Kendall does really seem to be trying to work – her name got her there, but she’s doing something she seems to love, and seems to be doing reasonably well – she’s showing up to jobs happy to do them, she’s not pulling the kind of shit that the Lindsay Lohan’s of the world are pulling, so there’s that.

But at the end of the day – Rebel, and the vast vast majority of actors/actresses are doing the same thing the K’s are doing- they’re marketing themselves and using the attention to promote their careers. The less work to get that attention – the better. I don’t see any of this to be all that different from what people love to rip on the K’s for doing. And I hate that I come off as a Kardashian defender here. I just don’t see how Rebel is any more morally superior for this.

      • InvaderTak says:

Yeah the K’s get a lot of hate for being the best at something that was already happening: self marketing.

      • SloaneY says:

But is that something we should be celebrating? Self marketing for self marketing’s sake? At least actors and musicians are marketing so that people will go their movies, concerts, etc. the Ks market themselves so you can watch their show where they…market themselves?

      • InvaderTak says:

No not saying what they do should be celebrated; just saying that it is a thing that is. There are other people doing the same thing.

At least actors and musicians are marketing so that people will go their movies, concerts, etc-yeah not always. There are plenty of fame hungry actors, musicians etc out there self promoting just to make a buck or for the attention.

      • Kitten says:

        ^^What SloaneY said.^^

I completely agree with what you said about Kendall, Erinn, but it’s also weird that we’re applauding this young woman for not throwing tantrums or acting ungracious when she has a modeling gig and opportunities that many young women dream of. I guess that’s indicative of how damn low the bar is set for celebs.

The whole “they work hard at hustling” thing is bullsh*t IMO. So do pimps, but I don’t find pimps particularly “talented” nor are they worthy of my respect.
Hell, at least pimps are usually overcoming some sort of adversity–poverty, broken families, violence, etc. This family is just a group of rich privileged white folks who’ve never known real struggle. That’s fine, but let’s stop with the “they work so hard” nonsense.

Forgive me, I’m apparently extra-bitter (like my coffee) this morning 😉

      • InvaderTak says:

@Kitten: I don’t see a big difference between what they do and what say Kate Upton does. They used the media in all it’s forms to get legit jobs. That’s part of how it works now. like it or not.

      • Hannah says:

What kitten said. They were already in a position of privilege. I don’t see why we should aplaud them for getting plastic surgery or marketing themselves when they could have used the money to hustle for something good. If we are just admiring hustle for the sake of hustle I can think of plenty of characters who have hustled from nothing to great riches. Jay z for instance, or any number of rappers or athletes that takes some real hustle and determination.

      • Kitten says:

        @ InvaderTak-…and I wouldn’t call Kate Upton a “hard worker” either.

      • lucy2 says:

“they’re marketing themselves and using the attention to promote their careers”

But to me the difference is that Rebel has a career – acting, writing, producing, etc. The Kardashians just promote themselves to promote themselves, because they don’t actually DO anything.

      • jwoolman says:

I don’t know if I would use the word popular, since that implies people like them. The K’s have excellent name recognition, but when people are asked what they think of the K’s – too many respond negatively. A large portion of their TV audience must be people who think they’re stupid and dysfunctional. At some point, those people go on to laugh at someone else’s stupidity and the audience dwindles, and Kardashian covers don’t sell magazines any more and the value of their shilling products on Twitter and Instagram decreases. When that point is reached will vary in different countries.

Just look at comment pages on tabloid sites. The negative comments about the K’s typically vastly outnumber any positive ones, and the negative to positive ratio seems to be increasing. They inspire hits for the pages, but more like a car wreck inspires interest.

  15. missmerry says:

    YESSS TEAM REBEL!

I’m so glad that she said no, and shared that fact.

and just because you’ve ‘worked hard’ at something, doesn’t mean that something has value or you should get respect from others for it.

Cardashians add to the vapid, self-absorbed, buy-buy-buy, fake, plastic, everything-I-do-is-about-me-and-money, mentality that is suffocating everybody on the planet. (IMO)

  16. Barrett says:

    Applause. She has a backbone!

  17. jwoolman says:

It really is true that Kendall and Kylie have no business presenting anywhere for anything. They’ve already demonstrated their lack of ability to do the job and they haven’t done anything relevant. Let them grow up for a few years and see if they’ve learned anything. Unfortunately, they will probably take the usual Kardashian approach of never preparing for a job, thinking that all they need to do is be their usual dull selves and everyone will be thrilled… It’s sad, because they will never know what they might have been able to do if they actually worked at it. Even Kendall, who gets real modeling jobs, seems aimless and unambitious. Things drop into her lap because of her mother’s work and Krazy Kanye’s Konnections. Of course, modeling today does seem to be a common activity for rich kids who don’t really want to work. It’s not the same for them as for those who don’t come from money, for one thing they can pick and choose and not take jobs if they would rather go shopping or partying.

I can’t feel sorry for them because of her lack of diplomacy, though. At least she said it with her own name attached. The Kardashian Krew, headed by Demon Mother, typically just spreads baseless rumors to trash people via nameless “sources”.

    • Holmes says:

Your last paragraph is spot on. I find Rebel to be kind of obnoxious and don’t particularly care for her humor, but she actually just went up in my estimation for the reasons you stated.

  18. lucy2 says:

Yay! I think more people who actually WORK in the entertainment industry should refuse to deal with these famous for nothings.

For those questioning if Rebel has the career to back this up, she may not be everyone’s favorite (I think she’s funny) but she’s been working steadily for over 10 years, has written episodes on a number of her tv shows, and was the executive producer of her most recent one.

  19. June says:

I admire her. All I see in them is bunch of celebrity impersonators.

  20. Lisa says:

was all ready for the outrage as I thought she meant Kylie Minogue … but ya you’re doing good work, Rebel!

  21. karen2 says:

…have to say this cracks me up…particularly since they’ll probably be relevant a lot longer than her…

  22. The Eternal Side-Eye says:

3…2…1 – till Kim or someone else from the Klan accuses Rebel of being unfeminist, jealous, not supporting women, Blah blah blah.

  23. s says:

I don’t think Rebel has any talent so she’s not one to talk. She’s just an annoying fat girl who’s jealous of the thinner Kardashians… maybe she should lose some weight instead of being a bitch..

  24. My two cents says:

They would be a source of frustration for anybody in the business of entertainment that has to struggle for every little break they get. The Klan was made famous kinda like Paris Hilton was…no reason in particular. Hopefully, they fall off the radar like Paris did. I can’t wait for the time when they get an occasional mention like on Oprah’s where are they now!

  25. LMR15 says:

Rebel is right and she has a right to say so. She worked hard and she is making it without conforming to have a stick thin body. She is pretty but chubby and that is OK! The Kardashian live in such a scary world of needing to be artificially perfect for their men and it needs to stop being celebrated. Kylie is 18 and already looks like a damn clown. The lips and now the hips are growing exponentially. The pics she posts now are mainly of her ass and the shape of her hips. She is like SO DAMN PROUD of the injections. I’m sure her gutter-trash pedo boyfriend encourages it all. Rebel’s success makes me feel happy and comfortable. Makes me feel proud that a woman doesnt need to be a Barbie version of herself to be successful or famous. The K-klan’s success makes me feel that we are setting society back 60 years.

  26. benchwarmer says:

While I support the general idea of Rebel’s sentiment, I do respectively disagree that Kendall has no talent as she is a high fashion model. I relate otherwise to what she is saying, that these people, the majority of reality stars, are just fascinating for voyeuristic purposes but underneath it all there is no true talent to support any of the fame garnished from such a life. I didn’t see the Barbara Walters interview and Kim’s answer is so narcissistic. She had an opportunity to humble herself and say that she has no talent as far as what other celebrities are noted for. She can say that yes she has sung songs and modeled but as far as talent she’s more of a personality that people are curious about. What I dislike most about the Kardashians is the stuck up quality of their poses, it’s like there’s a real haughtiness and faux regal air when they pose. I would find it so much more endearing if celebrities would look more humble when they pose for pictures, freaking smile and be more natural and stop trying so hard to look fierce and untouchable. It’s sickening.

  27. Ruyana says:

Just in case the writer for Pitch Perfect 3 reads this thread, a message:

In the next movie could you please write the character of Fat Amy to be less gross? Fewer boob and bum jokes, please? And never again the wiping her butt on the side of the tent. A lot of the “jokes” you wrote for Rebel to read were just plain crude and stomach-turning. I don’t want to hear a character trying to poop yelling “Oh yeah, it’s coming out like FroYo now!”

Okay, back to your regularly scheduled thread…………..

    • InvaderTak says:

Omg. I haven’t seen any of them but come on. That’s not funny, just nasty. I’ll for sure avoid them now. Thanks for the heads up.

  28. Crack Fox says:

Anthony Kiedis is looking at Kendall like she’s gonna be his next Lolita, but at 20(?) she’s too old for his taste.

  29. leidub311 says:

Wow. It’s nice to see someone who has the spotlight tell the truth about those people. Not that it’ll catch on or anything.

  30. lisatorner says:

My issue w the Ks is that their idea of “hard work” and “Work ethic” is what the rest of us would consider “perks” or “rewards” for actual hard work.

To them hard work is hours of wardrobe, hair and makeup, then showing up to an event and smiling big and posing and being friendly even when you are tired. That’s it. That’s the hard work. I’m not saying it’s easy and I’m sure it sucks sometimes, but it has nothing to do with the kind of thankless hard work the average person deals with on a daily basis.

They have managers and publicists who plan their schedules, assistants who wake them up and arrange their meals and transportation, makeup artists who are doing their makeup as soon as they open their eyes, stylists who do most of their shopping and provide them with a range of on trend outfits to choose from, chauffeurs to drive and pick them up at their convenience, handlers when they arrive at an event to keep them comfortable and let them know what they are supposed to do, and a ton of PR people and managers on standby to advise and spin in any time of trouble.

What also frustrates me is their idea of “working” on a project. For them it is saying something like “I want to do like… a cool app” and that’s the extent of the mental effort they put in. Then their team of creatives and strategists finds a company to do a “cool app” and then the ‘hard work’ consists of decision making as content is created for them.

Kylie selecting simple color and design preferences for her app that other people are presenting to her is not her “omg working SOO hard on my app”. Kim “working so hard” on her selfie book consisted of her going through all her photos of herself and picking the best ones. Kendall’s terrible hard difficult struggle to become a supermodel lasted maybe a few months? Because from where I sit she wanted to be a model, auditioned to be a model, then achieved being a model.

They confuse “Working” with going through other peoples work and thinking how best to use it for themselves or apply it to themselves.

  31. FrenchGirlChi says:

    Ha!
My kind of Girl, You tell them Rebel..
A lot of the teens today think that “Use what you have to get what you want” is going to get them far in life and it isn’t unless you have game plan in place.

  32. kimbers says:

I will always buy an extra movie ticket to all of Rebby’s movies for voicing pure facts

  33. cd3 says:

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHAH YES REBEL! Just yes.

  34. moo moo says:

At least Kendall has a career in modeling right now, even if it was due to family connections. I don’t see why Kylie would be at the podium to present anything other than Kris always putting Kendall and Kylie together like some kind of matched set.

  35. G says:

    I knew I liked her.

  36. dani says:

People who think this is mean must not be used to giving or receiving blunt honesty and truth. Rebel is just sharing a real, honest thought-something the Kardashians can’t even do. Even if Rebel isn’t the most talented woman ever, she IS talented in funny to many people, if not all. I like her a lot. Honest, funny, and doesn’t give a fuc what others think….I’d get a drink with her any day!! And Kendall couldn’t even read a teleprompter…isn’t that one of the very few things models should be able to do? Oy…honesty for the win.

  37. gogirl says:

I’ve seen a few pictures of her now, and she seems to dress cute despite her size!

  38. majicou says:

Well, maybe the Kardashians shouldn’t present with Rebel because she’s fat.

  39. coffeeisgood says:

They may have no talent, but they made millions and built a whole empire. So they are doing something right. People may hate them, but given the chance to make millions by being hot and promoting dumb things like butt cream, I think most people would take it.

  40. Caz says:

Wilson has described the majority’s sentiment.

Australians don’t pander to talentless fame seekers. We tell it like it is. If the K Klan was living here their krapness would never have been allowed to fester…they would have been laughed off the air by the public & media in 5 seconds.

  41. WinnieCoopersMom says:

Cannot stand this girl. I do not get her humor or her self-criticizing shtick. The self-deprecating fat shaming done by overweight comedians is so overdone and old. Anyway, as much as I cant stand her, gotta give her props for calling them out. Kind of wish she would have kept going, “I mean what do they do all day? They see the plastic surgeon in the morning, go for a pap stroll in the afternoon and take selfies into the evening.” If you want to call out the Ks, own it and go for the jugular, it will only get you more fans.

  42. Marianne says:

At least Kendall models. I mean sure, she probably originally got hired because of her name, but at least she’s doing her own thing.

And I’m also not gonna judge her for flubbing a teleprompter line. Its not like she’s the first person to do that.

  43. Joh says:

The Amish shun always seems silly.

  44. Elizabeth says:

I now feel a need to watch everything Rebel has ever done as a vote of support.

  45. ashley says:

Im not sure that rebel necessarily has any discernible talent … I don’t find her that funny, or good at singing. but then, I don’t like humor based soley on someone being fat.

  46. What's inside says:

To quote Rebel from one of her movies, “Crushed It!” One of my new favorite stars.

  47. miasys says:

She has as much right to her opinion as anyone else. I think it was brave of her to speak out. The Kardashians are only “famous” because of Kim’s sex tape. Her family exploiting & profiting off it to launch their ‘brand’ is beyond dysfunctional. There’s absolutely nothing wrong or shameful about sex, or making a tape. But I will absolutely judge the hell out of PMK for pimping out her daughter’s self-worth to make a buck. I can’t even with this family. Time for a self-imposed Kardashian media blackout.

  48. MB says:

Hmmm. Clearly I will be in the teeny tiny minority here but I think this is pretty snobby behaviour.
I appreciate that she works hard but perception of one’s work ethic and discernable “talent” is actually quite subjective and im not sure why she thinks she is so much better than anyone else to the point that she refuses to stand beside them for a minute or two? For someone who otherwise seems reasonably professional, this seems needlessly judgemental.

  49. Yeayea says:

Rebel is also making money using her body. She is an actor who is hired for being overweight. I think, if you look at it another way, kardashians are actually sexually empowered. They are making money from something others would otherwise. This is Hollywood.

  50. jinglebellsmell says:

Smart girl!! Just because they’re millionaires doesn’t mean they have talent and are worth a few seconds of her time. Team Rebel.

  51. Dids says:

Have you seen her clothing line???? IT’S AMAZING.
I bought plus size clothes all my life, and I never got the “girl” the designers are trying to dress. I can totally see myself in her clothes. I’m totally sold to her. Rebel is fearless and I hope she succeed!!
