Just in case anyone needed some Michael Fassbender today, I wanted to cover these two clips from this weekend’ Graham Norton Show. Personally, I adore Graham Norton and I think Norton’s interview style and sort of round-table couch ends up being very revealing for people’s true personalities. It was through Graham Norton that I realized I find Jack Whitehall to be very annoying. I also realized that Tom Hiddleston will never stop being EXTRA.
This weekend’s guests were Julie Walters, Kate Winslet, 50 Cent and Fassbender. Fassbender has been on Norton’s show several times now, and he’s pretty charming every time. I don’t think I’ve ever heard him sound smarmy, try-hard or extra, actually. If anything, he’s almost reserved, letting other people tell their stories and trying to help them out conversationally. Anyway, Graham got Fassy to tell the story about the time Fassy’s sexiness was so all-encompassing that his horse kept getting aroused.
This actually isn’t a new story? I think Mia Wasikowska was the first one to tell it, because she played Jane Eyre and she was witness to the horse that fell in lust with Fassbender. I feel sorry for the horse, actually. Many of us know what it’s like to be in lust with the Fassbender.
Here’s another clip with Julie, Fassy and Winslet talking about awards shows and what it’s like to win. Julie is really, really funny here. And Fassy plays along with the whole idea that he’s going to need to write a speech for some of these awards shows. Look at our Fassy… he’s playing the game a little bit! Good.

Cary Fukunaga hilariously tells that story in the Jane Eyre audio commentary. While it is really funny it doesn’t mean that horse got a hard-on for Michael, male horses do that when they’re relaxed or feeling content. Basically it means that he’s a good horseman. 😀

Agreed. We have 16 of those boys and they’re always airing those things out, etc. no different than human boys! You can hardly look out in the field without seeing one of our horses standing at attention.

I watched the show and it was really funny, especially Julie Walters – I had no idea she was such a hoot! Fassbender looked exhausted the whole time but he seems like a really nice guy, no ego on him – let others totally dominate the show and the horse thing it was probably something he didn’t want to mention but Norton probably researched this old story, never heard Fassbender mention it before. Kate Winslet, as much as I like her, can be a bit too much – carrying on about her Oscar and generally interrupting others like when she mentioned that she wets herself on a trampoline when Julie was talking about her ad for Burberry . TMI.
Julie Walters is really funny, no side on her at all.
I liked the peeing on trampolines part, but I am completely unamused by the “Oscar in the loo” story. Emma Thompson already rode that one until the wheels fell off 22 years ago, and Winslet has been stomping on it for 7 years. And it wasn’t amusing to begin with.

Yeah, I like how he’s not trying to dominate the conversation. Very relaxed and content to take the back seat. I also like how he gazes intently at whoever is talking. Attentive guys are attractive.
Really enjoyed all those Graham clips. He has a je ne sais quoi that is quite fascinating. His shows are all so entertaining, and he draws such interesting responses from all his guests. Whatever they are paying him, it’s not enough! Yet by all accounts he lives quite a solitary, and boozy, life. The curse of the Irish maybe?
I’ve always found Fassy interesting.
He can look super sexy, but also super creepy.
He loves women, but I think even his long term girlfriends don’t see much of him.
He’s affable and charming, yet I too have heard he leads a solitary life.

And, he’s got a strange body. Long torso, short legs, a gigantic head and forehead and that super creepy smile. But, having said all of that, there are times he looks good, so I can understand why some women are attracted to him, but he just doesn’t do it for me.
