Never before have I realized how highly LeAnn Rimes thinks of herself. She sat down for an interview on Today, and she is still trying to half-heartedly explain her affair with the married Eddie Cibrian. LeAnn said “I think people are fascinated with my personal life. And I totally get it.” Um… no. I won’t speak for others, but the only association I had with LeAnn Rimes was “blonde country singer married to a guy who seems gay”. I wasn’t fascinated, but I do enjoy a good sex scandal. So when married LeAnn got dirty with married Eddie Cibrian, it wasn’t about people’s fascination with her – it was the sex scandal itself.
LeAnn Rimes — who had a fling with her Lifetime movie costar Eddie Cibrian — says she isn’t surprised that people are interested in her love life.
“I’ve grown up in the press my whole life,” she said on Monday’s Today show, while promoting her new book, What I Cannot Change. “I think people are fascinated with my personal life. And I totally get it.”
Asked if she sometimes wished she were in a less visible line of work, Rimes laughed.
“Yes,” she replied.
Still, she said, “I love what I do. I’m passionate about what I do. I get to write books like this and write songs like this and affect people’s lives. And I think through the song ‘What I Cannot Change,’ having touched so many people, that’s what I believe I’m here to do. And it’s such a blessing.”
Rimes admitted that “it’s been tough … to make that transition from child star to an adult, but I’ve been one of the very few, very small percentage that has and I’ve been very blessed that I have great fans that follow and support me.”
After US Weekly’s cover story detailing her affair, Rimes posted the following message of her website: “This is a difficult time for me and my loved ones.”
Her husband, Dean Sheremet, also Twittered: “I Love My Wife!!!”

I love the three exclamation points after Dean’s “I love my wife”. If he could have bedazzled the exclamation points, he would have. If LeAnn’s husband is gay, or maybe just struggling to figure it out, I don’t really blame her for getting some hunky Cibrian on the side. What I do blame her for is thinking that it’s all about her – like before the affair became public, LeAnn was gracing the cover of every tabloid. Like LeAnn just couldn’t get away from the paparazzi, ever. Like her career hadn’t reached a point where she was doing Lifetime movies. If anything, the affair made her relevant – more relevant than she’s been in a while.

Who the hell does she think she is, the only thing that fascinated me is that she manged to pull Cibrian. What a stupid woman, look in the mirror and than look at Cibrian’s wife, now she is a looker.
Ironically the only reason her affair was interesting at all is because she’s so ridiculously boring it seemed improbable!

What fascinates me about Rimes is her ability to committ adultery and then let the media shred her husband as a gay hanger-on and she doesn’t deny the affair or vigorously defend her husband. She has ditched him for over a month and then comes out with a book that dribles about how much she loves her husband and how perfect is her marriage. God what a hypocrite. This woman would use the cross of Jesus with him still nailed to it if she could get some promotional sales value from it.
Speaking as a dirty old man, I’m fascinated by the idea of *having* a sex scandal with her, and maybe with Carrie Underwood. YEE-HAW!
