Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie haven’t been to the Golden Globes since 2012, by my records. I’m including those photos from the 2012 Globes. It’s been a really long time, right? I miss them. I had been hoping for a full Brangelina takeover for this awards season, because that’s always fun, but we probably won’t get it. Brad has a supporting role in The Big Short, and he’s the executive producer, which means that if the film is nominated for Best Picture at the Oscars, there’s an outside chance Brad will show up, but no guarantee that Angelina will come with him. Now Page Six claims that Brad definitely WANTS to come to the Golden Globes on Sunday to present. But no word on Angelina.
Brad Pitt is in talks to be a presenter at Sunday’s Golden Globes, Page Six has learned. And he’ll give away one of the night’s top honors. Other presenters who’ve been confirmed to appear this year, we can also exclusively reveal, include comic Kevin Hart and “Telenovela” star Eva Longoria. Insiders further said Pitt’s agreement to present at the ceremony from LA’s Beverly Hilton was struck Tuesday night. But another insider said he still needs to work out some travel plans to make it to there on time. Getting Pitt to present is a coup for the show, to be hosted by Ricky Gervais.
While Pitt’s not nominated for his role in “The Big Short,” the movie’s up for best motion picture — comedy or musical, best screenplay, and Pitt’s co-stars Steve Carell and Christian Bale have acting nominations.
But a source pointed out, “Brad is a nominee — he’s a producer of ‘The Big Short’ — so he will be there on behalf of the film.” It’s been tipped as an Oscar Best Picture dark horse. Pitt spent the holidays in Thailand with his family while wife Angelina Jolie took a break from her latest project in Cambodia. He’s next starring in a big-budget, untitled Robert Zemeckis spy thriller with Marion Cotillard. Pitt and Jolie’s “By the Sea” was snubbed by the Golden Globes this year. Reps for Pitt, Paramount and the Globes had no comment.
LOL, By the Sea was never going to be nominated for anything. Let’s be real. Brad should be thankful that By the Sea didn’t “Norbit” The Big Short’s chances at awards. So, will Brad go to the Globes to present Drama nominee The Big Short? Or will he get tasked with passing out a bigger award, like Best Director? Hm. And it really doesn’t sound like Angelina will be joining him, which just pisses me off. I bet Angelina and the kids stay in Asia – she was filming in Cambodia, then they took a long break in Thailand, which is where Pax broke his leg!
PS… There might be a chance Angelina would sign on to present at least one awards show: she’s got Kung Fu Panda 3 coming out later this month. We’ll have more on that tomorrow!

People if we don’t stop using the word “snub” inappropriately someone is going to take it away from us! 😉
That dress is beautiful! Love the pop of color. Angelina looks gorgeous in jewel tones, which I wish she would wear more of.
took the words right outta my mouth.
I know she likes black (and I can’t fault her for that as I do too!) but she does look so fab in jewel tones. esp blues and greens.
Georgous dress but the shoes don’t really match. I think she really likes comfortable shoes but her feet look really long, I wonder if she has a hard time fitting shoes?
It would be smart for them to present together, a good way to stand proud and defuse the heat they got for By the Sea.
I finally got around to watching “By The Sea”. I had it downloaded on my phone. It was pretty bad.
By the way I actually liked Norbit so we all have various tastes when it comes to movies.
What’s wrong with the movie? I haven’t seen it yet…
I didn’t like By the Sea either. I watched it and it was very slow and boring. The dialog was just bad. The only nice thing I can say about it was it looks very pretty and the location is beatuiful.
Lol I liked Norbit as well.
By The Sea was a very pretty and boring film.
Same. I was waiting for that copy to drop online lol. Bad, I know but it’s not like they were playing it anywhere near me!
I really tried to NOT judge and think this is just a film even though I only wanted to see it for the Brange.
Dear lord, it was bad. And I like ‘talking’ films, especially when it’s about family and relationships. I find Danish and French films the most intense when exploring that subject. Francois Ozon is very good at that, watch 5×2. Or the Before… films with Ethan Hawke and Julie Delphy.
Anyway, yeah Jolie is good at visuals I’ll give her that. And I did like the tension at first but she doesn’t take it further which makes the film very stagnant very quickly. It’s pretending to be deeper than it is. Vanessa is just an asshole who ruins people around her because she can’t deal with herself. I hoped they were going to split up. For as much as V doesn’t speak, I wished she would shut up when she did speak. The ending would make sense if V made some kind of progress or showed some goodness in such a long film but she’s effin’ bitter as hell and doesn’t really change! Poor Roland.
I’m also surprised and disappointed that Jolie had no other vision to create a woman with infertility issues. The world is a bleak one for women who cannot carry children, damn. She portrayed a pretty vapid one-dimensional character whose only redeeming quality seems to be that she’s beautiful which is so surface it hurts. Jolie’s acting reminded me of Girl Interrupted, just had to throw that out there. It’s the way she wimpered when Pitt held her during a fight that reminded me of the scene when Whoopi had her taken away to isolation.
What can they defuse exactly? It was a horrid film. Jolie should really take some directing classes or become a assistant director for a few years if she really wants to be good at it, because right now she has proven to be a pretty lousy director. Most directors do one of both of those things. There is no harm in doing that but knowing her ego and smugness I can’t see her doing that.
He’s technically a nominee for producing the film I guess- he could show up without presenting. But I kinda doubt we’ll see him at any awards show other than the oscars if his movie gets best picture nominated and is perceived as having a shot at winning, meaning he would actually go up onstage. He didn’t go last year for Selma, and he produced that too. Although I think for Selma he was just an exec producer.
He could go at SAG show.He is nod for best ensemble cast with The Big Short
You’re right, he went to SAG when he was nominated as part of the ensemble for 12 Years a Slave, just skipped the carpet. I could see him going to that again. I wonder when his movie starts filming. It’s gonna be a pretty quick turnaround if they’re aiming for a 2016 release.
I say there is little to no chance they will attend.
Maybe not the Golden Globes unless they’re going to promote something maybe they’ll do the Oscars. She has to promote Kung Fu Panda & maybe remind the HFPA/Academy that she’s doing a Netflix film.
I don’t think Brad or Angie will attend. I love the pics of them in Thailand.
He is the main producer no executive producer & the movie is nominated in the comedy category & I think you right if he get to present a top honour it should be best director because Ridley Scott is nominated for best director & Scott is the man who made Brad a star & there is a chance Scott win for best director for The Martian
I think he will attend to support his film I kind of doubt she will if she’s still shooting in Cambodia.
By the Sea was certainly not Norbit and Brad was excellent in it- if you want to put someone on blast/career watch, how about Bradley Cooper for Serena, Burnt, Aloha…all way worse films, some worse than Norbit. I would love to see them there- they always are so great on a red carpet- he’s nominated, so there’s a chance, otherwise, but Cambodia is pretty far away. The Big Short is a very important film- everyone needs to see it. Rec by both Bill OReilly & Bernie Sanders- that should tell you something right there. Brad may catch up to Angie with 2 Oscars this year.
If this information is from page six then it’s pretty much confirmed he won’t be there. Page six doesn’t know a thing about anything just another trash read.
Why would she if she’s not nominated for anything? Just to support him? If he wins he won’t thank her anyway- might as well do her own thing in Cambodia.
Anywho, it is interesting to see the reactions for By the sea from critics on Twitter. Some of them are questioning why their fellow critics were so harsh towards a Jolie led film. LoL some of them seem pretty passionate about it.
Umm the movie was not good and got the criticism it deserved. The movie also failed miserably at the box office too.
Tell that to the critics who like it and questioned other critics who were so harsh. Not me.
@ Yepistte
Majority of the critics didn’t like i and its a box office flop. So I don’t know why you are going on about. That is a fact.
I hope they go. Just so I can hear Ricky talk about By the Sea.
Nah, I can’t seem them attending at all. Jolie’s ego can’t handle Rickey Gervis making fun of her and we all know that she is responsible for the failure of By the Sea and the reviews it got. She not only acted but wrote and directed the awful thing. The only award nominations that movie will get are Razzies.
Why would she attend when she isn’t nominated or presenting anything? Angelina or Brad do attend award shows unless they are presenters or nominated. Especially, Angelina because she has done so as far back as I remember. It was confirmed by People that Brad will be attending, which makes sense because of his contribution to The Big Short. As for Ricky, I think she’ll live if he made a joke about By The Sea.
I know the Jolie haters, like yourself are waiting on the edges of your seats for Ricky to make a joke about By The Sea, but I don’t see that happening because unlike The Tourist, there isn’t any point of Angelina attending this year.
Also Brad is there so chances are if they make a joke it will be directed at Angelina and I’m sure he will laugh. 🙂 even tho Brad was the lead in by the sea. Oops ! We aren’t supposed to mention that are we?
The Danish Girl is also a box office bomb, but just because it earned some award nods, no one is talking about that. I’m pretty sure The Revenant will end up losing a s***load of money, too.
Why is Brad using a cane?
