Yes or no question: is Stephanie Seymour a mess? I think she might be. While we rarely cover Stephanie (the last time I wrote about her was 2014), she’s been in and out of the tabloid press for years now, mostly the New York tabloids and mostly having to do with her tumultuous off-and-on marriage to Peter Brandt. I think she and Brandt are still together, having reconciled back in 2010. They have three children together, although all of the Seymour-Brandt kids are adults now (the youngest turns 20 this year). So, she’s an empty-nester. An empty-nester with lots of money and booze. So, obviously, she thought it was a great idea to drive on the interstate while completely sauced.
Stephanie Seymour got a DUI … after allegedly going the wrong way at a stop sign. The supermodel was arrested on Friday night in Greenwich, CT. According to cops Stephanie was stopped on an off-ramp from I-95 when another car came up and stopped behind her. Instead of going forward … cops say Stephanie threw her 2015 Range Rover into reverse and hit the other vehicle.
She refused to take a field sobriety test, even though the officer on the scene said she smelled like booze, was unsteady on her feet and had bloodshot eyes. The driver of the other car did not report any injuries. 47-year-old Stephanie was booked for DUI.
I doubt this is the most scandalous thing to ever happen in Greenwich, Connecticut, but that doesn’t mean Stephanie will be free from judgment. And why not? Her husband is worth hundreds of millions of dollars, isn’t he? She can afford a driver. And if not a full-time driver, she can definitely hire an Uber to drive her home after she “lunched” a little bit too hard. And how drunk do you have to be to stop at an interstate off-ramp and throw your car into reverse? She’s lucky she didn’t cause more damage to herself or others.

The only shocking thing about this story is that such an episode didn’t happen years ago.
I can’t believe people still drink and drive, but then I can’t believe people still smoke, either. Come to think of it, I live in a constant state of amazement. But really, there’s no excuse.

I think tons of people drink and drive. Most people just are lucky enough to not get into accidents and/or get caught. I’m thinking of a party I went to last weekend with about 200 people. All drove there, all drove home. And I didn’t see many (or any, really) people abstaining (I did, because I don’t drink). I think people generally feel that they are in control and a DUI or accident can’t/won’t happen to them. It’s scary. I tell my son, who is a new driver, that I’m more worried about other people on the road than I am about him. Being defensive is really important.
…and all sorts of nut jobs are out past midnight, which teens, unfortunately, are wont to do. Sorry to be a Debbie Downer.
Believe me, I know. Our whole family was out on New Years Eve and coming home after midnight on the expressway from city to suburbs, I drove and he helped keep an eye out for erratic drivers. It was quiet and uneventful on the road but I’m glad he seems to be hyperaware of the possible dangers. Even so, I know some accidents just can’t be anticipated. 🙁
She is wealthy enough to afford a driver if she wants to go out and get drunk. Otherwise just stay home and drink all you want. The rest of society does not want to have to deal with a drunken idiot behind the wheel .

If I had a dollar for every range rover in CT i’ve personally witnessed driving poorly, or any vehicle i’ve witnessed in CT backing out of an exit ramp to rejoin traffic i’d get a house in greenwich (slight exaggeration).
Still, glad she was pulled over and hopefully something is done about this before she harms another.

She annoys me. She doesn’t exercise, eats crap, drinks, smokes (or used to) and still looks like that. She generally makes bad decisions, remember when she dated Axl Rose and was in his videos? Ugh.

The Axl relationship is all I know about her, and I consider that evidence enough of her hot mess status (at least as a younger woman). Didn’t she assault him or something? I was thinking they were married, but I must be conflating music videos with real life. Don’t judge me; it happens.
They had a wedding in the November Rain music video and she also died in that. In real life they didn’t actually get married. she also assaults someone in the Don’t Cry music video. 😉
This makes me furious. She is married to a billionaire and has a driver at her damn disposal. This is inexcusable.
And then there was the whole thing with her son touching her boob.
Yes, it’s the inappropriate behavior with her son, and questionably touch-y pics of them together that are “off” to me.
The Miley & Billy Ray Cyrus photo spread in Vogue or Bazaar from a few years ago also disturbed me due to the poses & lack of clothing.
Even if you don’t have a driver, an assistant, access to Uber, whatever, there’s still no excuse for driving drunk.
If you know you can’t get another ride home, DON’T DRINK.
Or alternatively, if you drank and you have no ride home, stay where you are!

Axle Rose beat her once and she was wise enough and had enough resources to leave him the first time and never return. Gotta commend her for making the right choice. He also beat another girlfriend, the daughter of one of the Everly Brothers. But, yeah, no excuses for drunk driving.
My goal is to get rich enough to hire a driver so I can get drunk in public. I’m tired of drinking at home.
My favourite bit about their aborted divorce fight was that she just literally threw a whole punch of Picassos etc in the back of her SUV and took off. It’s a glorious image, very Real Housewives of Wherever.
