I started this site ten years ago today, when I lived overseas and my son was a baby. I wanted to find a job I could do from home which combined my two passions: gossip and the Internet. Celebrity blogging was new, no one had heard of Facebook, Twitter did not exist yet, Kim Kardashian was Paris Hilton’s sidekick and Paris was the biggest celebrity around. There was a period of time when Paris and Britney Spears were BFFs and both staged multiple up skirt photo ops for the paparazzi, I’ll have a hard time getting that image out of my head, and I’ll also never forget hearing when Heath Ledger died, in January, 2008.

The sites that really helped us in the beginning include Moe Jackson, which used to be known as The Bastardly, I’m Not Obsessed, which sadly closed this year, and Gallery of The Absurd, which does celebrity caricature. Dlisted, Lainey Gossip, Reality Tea and Pajiba are some of our link partners now. I can’t tell you how happy I was when Go Fug Yourself and more recently Jezebel noticed us. We link them all because they create great content and hope they feel the same.

Throughout it all you’ve been there, sometimes calling us on our b.s. when we needed it and so often making it worthwhile. It’s a fast-paced job that can be stressful but can also be incredibly fun, unexpected, uplifting and yet delightfully trashy.

I started this blog with the goal of creating more in-depth celebrity gossip for people like me – like us – who want to know the background on celebrity stories, and who want to know more details than are typically reported. I wanted it to be analytical, opinionated, funny and yet smart.

None of that would be possible without Kaiser, our new writers Corey and Hecate and our past writers including Bedhead and Jaybird. They all have worked so hard to bring you the gossip, news and fashion.

It also wouldn’t be possible without the photographers at WENN, FameFlynet, Pacific Coast News and Getty and without the celebrity news and tabloids which create the content we report on. That includes TMZ, US Magazine, People, Radar Online, The National Enquirer, In Touch, Star and Life & Style. I’m sure we missed quite a few.

I have a background as a usability specialist and your experience is important to us. We currently do not have video ads (although this may change and no shade on sites that do), we try to keep automatic sound ads off the site, and we don’t have ads that take over the page when we can help it.
