Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin’s conscious uncoupling has gone really well. If anything, Chris and Gwyneth seem closer than ever. When Chris is in LA, he often stays at Gwyneth’s home so he can spend time with their kids. They go on vacation together (with the kids). They seem to have put the work in to get along for the sake of their children. Good for them. But Gwyneth filed for divorce from Chris in April 2015, and he has yet to respond to her filing. Isn’t that surprising to hear? For some reason, I thought they quietly worked out their divorce months ago. But not so much.

Gwyneth Paltrow needs to tell her estranged hubby to get off the dime, because we’ve learned he never responded to her divorce petition and the judge has taken notice. Gwyneth filed for divorce April 20, 2015. Chris was served with legal docs on May 18th and the case has laid dormant since then. According to legal docs the Coldplay frontman never filed an answer to her divorce petition.

The judge has now notified Gwyneth and Chris, the actress may now be eligible to get a default judgment. Typically, that means she’d get what she asked for in her divorce petition. We broke the story, Gwyneth wants joint custody of their 2 kids. BTW … she filed her petition without a lawyer. But, as we reported, we’re told business managers for Gwyneth and Chris have been privately hashing out a settlement, mostly involving their considerable assets. Based on what we know, it looks like Chris and his team simply never got around to filing an answer, which they’ll probably do now. Either way, if Chris doesn’t snap to, he may wake up suddenly single.

I suspect that Gwyneth and Chris wanted to work this out privately with no public drama, and that’s why they’ve been “hashing out a settlement” behind closed doors. Because public spats about money are super gauche and peasanty, even though it sounds like there is a lot to “hash” out. And we know that Gwyneth wants what’s hers, although I doubt she’s looking for any kind of big settlement form Chris. The biggest fight is probably about all of their real estate holdings (they own a ton of property). Still… ten months to work out a settlement says to me that there is a lot of fighting/negotiating going on privately.

Or hey, maybe Chris has second thoughts about the divorce. Who knows? The only thing I know for sure is that his girlfriend, Annabelle Wallis, looks like Gwyneth and styles herself like Gwyneth and he obviously has a type. Maybe Annabelle is fine with waiting. Maybe Gwyneth’s boyfriend Brad Falchuk is fine with waiting too. I’m pretty sure Brad’s still technically married too.
