My first instinct was right! When Heidi Klum and Seal confirmed that she was pregnant with the couple’s fourth child, my first thought was “Hope it’s a girl.” Turns out, that was Heidi’s first thought too! Of course, Heidi pays some lip service to not minding another little boy, but you can tell her heart is prepared for another little girl. Heidi also tells a little story about their daughter Leni, who is also hoping for a little sister. The way Heidi talks about her family makes me a little weepy, honestly. I love this family.
Pregnant Heidi Klum opens up about her private life as a mom — explaining all those things fans never see behind the usual pictures of her at the playground — in the newest issue of Us Weekly.
The Project Runway host — who is raising Leni, 5, Henry, 3, and Johan, 2, with husband Seal — also reveals her family is hoping for a girl.
“We’d be happy with either,” she tells Us Weekly in her only interview about her fourth pregnancy. “But it would be a lie if I said we all weren’t hoping for a little girl — especially Leni, because she would love to have a little sister.
“She’ll say, ‘I hope it’s a girl so she can be in my room, and I’m going to help you and I’m going to change the diapers and I’m going to be a really good sister!” Klum continues.

I’ve heard Heidi talk about her biracial relationship in passing, but never to any great detail. The way it seems to me is that Heidi didn’t even see Seal’s skin color – I really think she just looked at him and saw his soul, his good heart. I doubt race was even an issue for either of them, because they just made so much sense together from the first time they met. I don’t know if that’s actually the case – it’s just how I see them. I’ll keep my fingers crossed for a little girl, Heidi!
Here’s Heidi and her son Henry Samuel at LaGuardia on their way to Atlanta on Friday. Images thanks to WENN.com .
I love them.
And I’m with you, I doubt that race was an issue at all.
It seldom is between interracial couples. The issue usually comes from OTHER people. Not the two people themselves. 🙂
Speaking from experience.
“I’ve heard Heidi talk about her biracial relationship in passing, but never to any great detail.”
And why should she have to?! Would it be normal for her to walk around talking about her “black husband” all the time? People are people. I hate it when people calim to love this couple but CONTINUE to say things like that. So sad. Happy news on the baby front though, although after two boys, the odds for a girl are not in their favor.
Kaiser – do you not remember Heidi’s own desc. of what really struck her when she first met Seal? It was a bit lower down than his heart as I recall! 😉
But yeah, these two are the real deal. And I’m not keen on US Weekly’s description of them as a bi-racial couple – seems totally unnecessary and irrelevant.
What great news for Heidi! I don’t know why she’d have to explain why she’s stopping at #4. I thought that would be obvious.
Her chances of a girl are still 50/50, depending on whether you believe the theory that boy spermies are faster but girl ones have more stamina (ha ha, could be true all though life) so the odds change depending on timing with ovulation. We have 2 girls and my hubby was resigned to another one but popped out a wee boy last week so anything’s possible. Good luck to her.
Um,yeah, this was a weird post…I’ve never heard seal talk about his ‘white wife’,either…I doubt he ‘saw the color of her skin as an issue, but just saw her soul’.
Anyway,I’m thinking she meant b/c society is so tripped out-she perhaps needs to talk about how they might be reacted to.
I don’t know for sure, but i’m just guessing it was more along those lines…
Many if not most are accepting now,but it’s not across the board-sadly,some people still get flak for being in a bi-racial relationship.
Ahhh how sweet! Congrats Feebee!
I hope she has a girl too. I’d love to see her daughter with Seal.
Yep, still 50/50. I totally relate to being happy with either a boy or girl but being honest and saying she has a preference. I have 5 living children. 1 is a boy and the other 4 are girls.
Along with the issue of boy spermies and their stamina there is also the issue of the PH of cervical fluid at the time of, ahem, marital bliss. You can google Shettles method for more information. I wouldn’t say that Shettles is foolproof but the theories behind it are interesting.
Heidi has said that the first thing she noticed about Seal was his huge man-package 🙂
I love her-she is so sweet. I hope she speaks German with the kids 🙂
I absolutely love this couple. They still appear to be soo much in love.
I remember watching her E! True Hollywood Story, in which she said she was having lunch with her PA (or her best friend) when she first met Seal. She said when she saw him, she said to her PA/Best friend, “The sexiest man in the world just walked into the room” (or something along those lines). Clearly she had no qualms about him being black.
I hope it’s a girl too.
Henry is so grown up now! I’m happy to say trhat he looks like he’s finally growing into his own cuteness; that Leni and Johan can give hime a run for his money : )
mE is right about the pH factor inside the vaginal and cervical environments.
an acidic (or sour as my doctor said) environment pretty much immediately kills off the faster and weaker y sperm (to make a boy)while the slower and tougher x sperm (to make a girl) steadily makes its way past the now useless y sperm to find the egg.
an alkaline (or sweet/balanced as the doctor said) environment give the y sperm a much better chance because it surges ahead of the x sperm and in a “calm” environment it is able to make its way to the egg quicker than the x sperm. however all that is moot if there’s no egg in place by the time it runs out of speed. again the x sperm wins such a situation as it will eventually get to the egg that wasn’t there at the time the y sperm started losing mobility.
so in a lot of ways women still determine whether the baby is a boy or girl. 😉
