Appendicitis is scary stuff. I remember the first time I had kidney stones – didn’t know what was wrong – but the pain was on my left side so I ended up trying to go back to bed, relieved to know it wasn’t appendicitis pain.

Mind you, I woke up within an hour almost puking and blacking out from the kidney stone thing – but hey – not appendicitis.

    • Nancy says:

Erinn: I hear you and feel your pain. Had a stone blasted out. Not fun, but gone.

      • Erinn says:

I’m now constantly on high alert for them. I’ve had three…and they’ve all just been a hair under the size that they let you pass without further intervention as long as you’re not suffering too badly. They’re miserable.

      • Nancy says:

I’m sure you’ve heard of the blasting system. I only had one, but it took almost two years to figure out the problem. I had two CT scans, two years apart, and by the second one the stone was huge and I had to have the procedure done immediately. Now I go every six months just to be proactive. Life is nothing if not an adventure……always something.

      • Nancy says:

Erinn: I didn’t mean to frighten you about the blast procedure to remove stones. It is not too invasive, there is no cutting. A machine is placed against your body and the stones are thrust out. You are put under so there is no pain. Minor discomfort for a day or so. I had a stent in for a week but once that was out everything was fine. Just telling you since you have a history of stones. My friend, oddly since we’re both in our thirties has the same problem, and has had several of these blasts. Okay hope you stay healthy!

Ugh. I had a ruptured appendix a couple of years ago. That was a long and not fun hospital stay.

How is everyone in Houston? Water is inching its way towards my house, but nothing in the house yet.

One of the deaths is a man from my church. I didn’t know him but know a lot of people that did. I know the death toll is going to increase and I feel so helpless.

    • EM says:

So sorry to hear about your “neighbor”. Wishing you the best – stay safe.

    • Lilacflowers says:

Sending prayers and positive thoughts to Houston and Ecuador. Stay safe

    • Nancy says:

KB: Oh please be careful. Do what the authorities are telling you. Maybe you should evict if the water is inching its way in. Life before property. Be proactive and don’t take chances. I lived through flooding in Florida and I know it’s terrifying. Praying for those in harm’s way. Don’t panic….again listen to authorities…..if they say abandon ship and head for higher ground, do it. Prayers up sweetie, this too shall pass.

      • KB says:

Oh I will and fortunately they’re allowing people to take their pets. A lot of people died during Katrina because they refused to evacuate without their animals. I could never leave my cat. Just reminding myself that everything else is just stuff.

      • Erinn says:

Oh God KB – I didn’t know that was a thing. I don’t think I could leave without my furballs.

      • Nancy says:

KB: Hopefully everything has changed since Katrina, such a mind blowing experience which was handled terribly. Leaving a beloved pet behind is like leaving a kid, they are helpless. You and kitty be careful, go to dry land and God willing you will come back to your home in tact. Again, blessings to all. Nobody ever thinks it will happen to them until it does.

I live in Austin and we are following the news coverage of the flooding in Houston. We’ve had some flooding especially in Bastrop and roadway flooding but definitely not on the scale of Houston this week. Stay safe!

    • Miss M says:

@KB: I am sorry about him. Everything seems OK where I live. Thanks for asking! Stay safe! Work was cancelled yesterday, but we are back on schedule today.

  4. iheartgossip says:

Hmmm. There is a blind gossip out there that I think is him. Too bad, here’s to a speedy recovery.

    • Happy21 says:

      What’s the blind say?

    • amilu says:

You can’t leave that tidbit here and not elaborate on it!

    • moonmay says:

Could someone please either summarize the blind item or point us to where it can be read?

      • KB says:

It’s probably something from BlindGossip.com I wouldn’t put much stock into it though. They just take existing gossip and pretend they have some inside info about it, but they’re never breaking stories like Lainey…they’re just repeating what’s already out there.

Re: Joss Whedon- good. He made a crap movie that also messed up continuity for the rest of the movieverse.
