Kim Kardashian hasn’t gotten a lot of attention lately. Her relationship is stable. Paris Hilton hasn’t been causing drama. Her sisters are getting their own reality show. There was that little debacle about her supposedly being plus-sized, but that’s about it. Really, people haven’t been saying much about Kim. So she decided to dye her hair – or at least that’s what she told us. And given the terrible things a lot of celebs do for attention, I consider Kim changing her hair to be about the smartest, most even-headed thing she could do. But it turns out it was all just a ruse – and a wig.
First, she upset her full-figured fans by declaring that she is a “size 2, not 2XL” after an article appeared in Us magazine that she argued made it seem like she was endorsing a plus size line for Forever 21.
Then, she fell asleep in her sunglasses and got some seriously scary tan lines while vacationing in Mexico. And yesterday, she walked around New York all weekend debuting a newer, lighter look. The star, 28, famous for her long black locks, seemed to have gone blonde!
Tweeting about the change on her Twitter page, she said “Hey everyone, I have a drastic new look.” She then posted photos of herself proclaiming that she loved her “new blonde hair.” Fan reaction was mixed at best, with some fans even angry at the drastic change.
But fear not, Kardashian admitted that the look was simply a wig. “It’s a wig! Did I have you fooled?,” she asked her fans on her blog, admitting the piece was a leftover from a photo shoot.

Honestly I think Kim’s normal hair looks much better. That lighter, blondish look just doesn’t work with her coloring. I tend to think most people look best with some shade of their natural color. I used to live on the west coast where it seemed like all women dyed their hair blonde. It was so dull: everyone looked the same. I appreciate living in the east where that’s not nearly as common; and I think most of the women here look better because their coloring is more natural and they’re not all trying to fit one narrow idea of what a woman “should” look like.
That said, Kim pulled the look off as well as anyone could. It’s a lighter, softer look for her. I just really admire her exotic, dark coloring – it’s so dramatic. And she doesn’t look like every other woman in Hollywood, which I really like. I’m sort of glad it was just a wig – and hopefully won’t become a permanent change.
Here’s Kim out and about in New York City yesterday. Image thanks to WENN.com and BauerGriffinOnline.
Look it’s Beyonce..I mean Kim!
I think she got a nose job. Her nose looks shiny in the side picture and it seems shorter than it was before.
You can’t paint a pig.
The header picture reminds me of Jennifer Lopez…
But I can see why you’d say Beyonce.
ash, that’s the same thing i thought. i can’t pinpoint why, but she could be mistaken here for beyonce…
Wig? I can see her scalp in picture 6, that’s her real hair not a wig.
HUH?????? WTF would she do that for?? She looks so much better as a brunette, oh well we all have our own lives to live. If she loves it, good for her.
Just read Kim Kardashian’s twitter, apparently it’s a wig. But who knows.
God I hate how much she reminds me of my sister.
Kim looks better with her natural dark hair. Why try to look like anyone else?
Not working. But do “you”, Kim.
“Her Fans”, “The Star” Are you kidding me? Don’t you have to have talent to have fans and be a star? What exactly is hers?
she DOES look like she got a nose job… but… why?
Meet J-Lo II (or Shreck IV)
I love her eyebrows. At first glance I thought it was Beyonce 2.0 eewwwww. If this is a “wig” then throw it away or donate it to ta cancer patient. Kim needs to stick to what works for her and being a brunette works for her.
Wow!That’s a really good wig!!!!
She looks good, sweeter with this haircolor but I prefer her with the dark hair. This light brown shade is a color many woman can have and look good in,but not many can pull off the brunnette look!!!
looks like Jenny from the block to me! lol
I dont like the hair color on her it makes her look cheap but more importantly where is her bra?
shes very pretty. body is perfect but there is NO WAY she is a 2. a 6 maybe.
shes gorgeous
I wonder if her mom Kris likes it, because we all know that she didn’t ask for Bruce’s permission.
Hair extensions are a great way to get instant long, beautiful hair. The average cost runs between $500 – $3000 and even higher, depending on the hair extension method used and the quality of hair used.
Keep in mind Nothing is as expensive, as cheap hair. You will have to keep purchasing it several times throughout the year.
Quality human hair is expensive and at the same time can last a long time. Synthetic hair is much cheaper, but will not last as long and has some other restrictions.
My system is designed using NO glue, chemical, “protein,” tracks, or any damage to your natural hair. It is a safe. quick, and comfortable technique.
If hair extensions are not attached and removed properly, you could end up with permanent hair damage. The secret to not getting bad hair extensions and damaged hair is to do your research on the methods and the hair stylists. Make sure your hair stylist is properly trained and in some cases certified to offer hair extension services.
After you get hair extensions, you must go back to the salon every 6-12 weeks or so for maintenance, depending on your natural hair growth. The stylist will remove the extensions and place them back closer to the root of the hair. This is an important appointment that you shouldn’t skip. As your hair grows out, the extensions (which are attached to your hair) will fall farther down the hair shaft. We naturally lose hair every day –100 or so strands. As these hairs fall out at the root, the ends of them become trapped in with the extension hair, causing tangles and other sorts of problems. If you don’t go back in for maintenance your hair could become seriously tangled and damaged. Maintenance visits can cost several hundred dollars, however you won’t have to purchase new hair in between because your purchasing REUSABLE hair.
Remember the secret to avoiding bad hair extensions is to do your research. Make sure the hair extension method you are getting is good for your hair type, make sure the stylist is trained and be sure to ask for references to check things out. Good luck to all!
