Melissa McCarthy was spotted out and about on Mother’s Day wearing more of her unique fashion. This time, however, it wasn’t a Melissa McCarthy Seven7 original but a Falcone Girls one-of-a-kind creation. Her daughters Vivian (9) and Georgie (6) adorned a white linen tunic with messages of love and artwork for their mother, who proudly showed off their couture while running errands.
She was soaring through the air earlier this week while filming Ghostbusters.
But Melissa McCarthy’s feet were firmly planted on the ground as she ran errands in Studio City, California on Mother’s Day.
And in honor of the special holiday the 45-year-old actress donned a white tee with colourful messages from her daughters which included, ‘I love you.’
The Oscar-nominated star had several messages and pictures drawn on her shirt as a gift from her two girls – Vivian, aged eight, and six-year-old Georgette ‘Georgie.’
She went with a laid back look – as all moms should on their special day – in black sweatpants, matching flip flops and a grey scarf wrapped loosely around her neck.
Her brunette tresses were covered underneath a baseball cap and she wore dark oversize movie star shades.
The make-up free star showed off her flawless complexion and upgraded her low-key ensemble with a black leather Givenchy handbag.
Melissa – who was named the third-highest paid actress in 2015 by Forbes – was spotted on the Los Angeles set of her highly anticipated Ghostbusters reboot.
Because I am currently re-watching all of the Gilmore Girl seasons in anticipation of the revival later this year, I am falling even further in love with Melissa. Things like this just cement my affection. Melissa has spoken to the fact that some of her designs were influenced by her daughters, including her very popular Le Meow shirt that features a cat drawn by Vivian. CB reminded me that Angelina Jolie incorporated her kids’ artwork into her wedding dress and veil. My daughter decorated me in glitter tattoos on Sunday. I have a pink and black fleur de lys on one arm and a purple and red cat with black Sharpie embellishments on the other. It’s not my normal look but I enjoyed showing them off and my daughter was thrilled every time someone asked about them.
Below are some shots from last week of Melissa on the set of Ghostbusters. Checking IMDb, the film is listed as being in post-production. This makes me wonder if the film is in the can or if they’re still open to reshoots. The trailer was not well received so it’s a possibility. A few outlets are saying that Melissa bashed the trailer when she clarified on the Johnjay and Rich Show that it is a reboot, not a sequel. If you listen to that part of the interview, she says of the movie, “it’s that great story but told totally differently.” Later, when they ask about the trailer opening with the line “Thirty years ago, four scientists saved New York,” Melissa admits, “I didn’t quite get that myself.” I hardly think that constitutes bashing it. I hope this movie breaks all kinds of records and proves the naysayers wrong.

I think it’s very sweet and I just LOVE Melissa. She is my dream Hollywood bestie.
Aaw, how cute.
I’ m so looking forward to Gilmore Girls.
I used to be fat, and Sookie was the only character I remember, in any show, who wasn’t defined by the fact she was fat. Who had a successful job, a husband, kids. That alone is enough for me to love Melissa forever.
Also, Rory and Lorelei Gilmore are the hardest combination of names to pronounce in television history.
Put more than one non-consecutive R in a word, and I’ll trip all over it. I butcher Rory.
Generally the way the “r” is pronounced in English is super hard. The rolling r is so much easier.
That’s so cute her daughter drew the Le Meow one too- I got a skirt from her clothing line and that was included as a card.
I can’t wait for the new Gilmore stuff, I loved the old serie so much I hope this is really good.
I guess I’m alone in liking the trailer. Maybe I’m blinded by my love of Melissa and the whole cast. Plus my desire to prove the misogynist naysayers wrong. My 7 year old and I can not wait, but he and I are on par with our sense of humor.
Love the custom shirt!
I loved the trailer too! I think it will do just fine at the box office. Haters gonna hate!
I don’t love the headline for this article, with the “cute?” At the end of it. It’s sweet that she would wear a not so perfect creation from her daughters in public. The headline kinda dogs on that.
I loved Gilmore Girls. I look forward to the new episodes.
What is on her baseball cap? It looks like a six-legged sheep. Whatever it is, I love her mom’s day outfit.
I love that she’s sporting this. When your kids are that age, it matters so much for them to see you proud of their art projects and gifts.
Super cute and it makes me like her even more.
