Lainey Gossip recently ran a piece pointing us to this article we would otherwise miss out of Miami, where Ben Affleck was seen in his default mood (surly) in an Uber with a “young blonde woman.” The two were going from the four star hotel The Standard in Miami to the airport, and the Uber driver told The Miami Herald that it seemed like the two were arguing.

A Miami Uber driver who recently drove Ben Affleck (he swears it was him!) and a young blonde woman from The Standard to Miami International Airport last Sunday says all did not appear well in Affleck’s love life. He told Scene in the Tropics that the actor-director was very “surly,” and it was obvious that the two passengers had been arguing. A source at the hotel says they have no recollection of Affleck being there, but another source says, “It was under a different name and very on the down low.”

This is good gossip. I imagine you would hear and see a lot of interesting stuff as an Uber driver. I have a friend who works as one and she says that she avoids driving nights when she can as the drunk passengers can be so unruly, but I digress.

It’s possible that this was an assistant but it sounds like an intimate thing that went bad (maybe temporarily) for whatever reason. I guess I shouldn’t be surprised that Ben has a piece on the side and that he’s not even happy in that relationship. It’s like, what’s the point of seeing someone outside your marriage if you’re just going to miserable anyway? I know he’s separated and he probably has an agreement with Jen as long as he keeps it on the down low though. He’s Ben Affleck, unless he’s on the other side of the world he’s going to get recognized and he can’t go incognito overseas either. That’s what happens when you helm a major superhero franchise. As Lainey points out, Affleck and Garner have been in Europe for the last few weeks as he works on Justice League, but Garner just left London for LA.

Speaking of that, Affleck’s cowriter for the script of the standalone Batman movie was on Seth Myers last night. Geoff Johns, the CCO of DC, talked up the new changes at DC, called it “rebirth not a reboot” and said of Affleck’s writing that he’s “amazing at dialogue.” You can see a clip from the interview on Batman-News.
