A nose ring is so much better than a fake ass, fake lips, chest implants, weave, and so many layers of makeup. At least Lourdes does not look like a Kardashian. They always look like they need a shower! Lourdes looks age appropriate.

    • Pixelated says:

Agreed. It’s fun and a popular piercing, I have no issues with it. She’s 19, nothing to see move along, y’all.

      • kay says:

i have wanted one of those piercings for years…but hesitate because i am mid 40’s…

      • Frankly says:

I got mine done a year ago – and I’m 45. My mom was like, “I don’t like it!” and I said, well, I did it your way for 44 years, now I’m doing it my way.

      • sauvage says:

        @Frankly: Good for you!!

I also only started getting tattooed and pierced in my thirties. We’re old enough to approach the IDGaF stage in life. Congrats on your beautiful bling!

      • Elyna says:

@ Frankly, I had also put off getting my nose pierced knowing the “fall-out” from my Mother. Got it done, and felt so beautiful. Went back and got both tragus pierced. Then I proceeded to purchase studs from my jeweler for all 3 piercings in my birthstone. I feel complete and not cheapened in any way. 🙂 Sisters in Arms!!!
(I think our moms need to go have reality checks together…lol)

@ Sauvage, I agree that a bit of added age made me appreciate my choice instead of feeling I needed to defend it or let it “classify” me.

      • Alexis says:

You are all inspiring me to do what I want also as a 40 something…..ink, piercing, going from blond hair to dark chocolate…..I need to carpe diem it. I love what you said t your mom…..I know that well and second that sentiment! bravo!!

Also ADORE the comment that at least it’s not a fake ass etc…..100000000 percent!

    • mia girl says:

      Agree!

    • Erinn says:

I came home with my brow pierced at her age. I’m not going to fault her with this one.

    • JenYfromTheBlok says:

It’s funny how modern compliments are via comparison:
Melania Trump on her husband: “he’s not Hitler”
Shaunna on Lourdes: “she’s not a Kardashian”

    • Hadleyb says:

She looks like most teens or young 20’s. And its a relief honestly.

Simple clothes, no implants, not a lot of makeup. Not looking like they are on a reality TV show.

  2. Almondjoy says:

I seriously don’t get the nose ring hate that I’ve seen here. I know it’s a trend at the moment but it’s actually very normal and a common piece of jewelry to wear depending on the country you live in. So many different cultures wear them and I think they’re beautiful.

    • me says:

I was just about to say the same thing. Lots of cultures wear nose rings like this. I like Lourdes. She is educating herself. staying out of the spotlight, and being normal. Let’s leave this girl alone.

      • Marie says:

The constant mouth breathing looks kinda bad

      • me says:

        @Marie

My people (I’m Indian) have been wearing those types of nose rings for centuries and they all breathed just fine.

    • QQ says:

Ok? you’d think is gonna be mandatory next year and the Mom’s and the no Piercing crowd WONT.STAND.FOR.IT

She looks cute! *shrugs* I’m fairly sure you can breathe through y9our nose with them just fine

      • Erinn says:

I wanted one for the longest time. Never did it. I KNOW my mom would be all “oh you look like a bull” but I don’t care. But I have bad enough allergies that I just didn’t want anything irritating my nose more.

And ya know what – a nose ring is a minor thing, it looks cool, and she can take it out whenever.

      • QQ says:

Girl Im into piercings but work an office job, have tatts and SHORT ( Oh the affront!) purple hair (which I didn’t get til my early 30s) , i’ve heard incessant b*llshit from my Latin family from the mildly stupid to the wildly offensive and judgy, i’ll surely even qualify for the “trashy” category of some people in here but here is the thing, I ALWAYS have and will conduct myself with respect to people around me, no one is considered lesser for looking “alt” or their gender or orientation, my bills are paid, working my credit to the 800s, I have no legal system issues and generally mind my own damned business, I make the point to always impart the following bit on my aunts and sister and brother regarding their minors: If their grades/respect/responsibilities/chores are otherwise being kept and they still talk to you about everything what is the harm of letting your children express themselves outwardly in a way that makes them feel cute? why can’t they experiment with their looks? …whatever

      • justcrimmles says:

QQ, you look amazing. And fekk anyone who thinks otherwise. I’ve said I’m dying my hair pink or some other unnatural shade since before I turned 30. I’m 35 now, and still haven’t. One day, though 🙂 (your felt doggies are cute!)

      • kay says:

if i adored you anymore i think i would need to build you an altar ;p
well, qq, i think i may be a little more inclined to seriously think of getting that exact nose ring, despite being almost 44.
thank you for being so real, so down to earth, so funny, so emotionally AND mentally intelligent…and thanks for sharing it with us. <3

      • Erinn says:

I always have major hair envy for you, QQ. I’ve put some hot pink in mine – but I’m lazy and wash it way too often to bother keeping it up for too long.

I’m lucky that my office job isn’t customer facing, and I don’t need to cover up my tattoos or keep my hair a certain way – because I’d hate it.

But I still (when I had it) hid my brow piercing from my gram – and my tattoos. And mom wouldn’t look at my piercing for two days after I got it haha.

I see no problem in letting kids express themselves in healthy, non harmful ways. I wish the rest of the world was so kickass about stuff like that.

      • Beanie Baby says:

I don’t know why Marie’s comment illicited so many seemingly passive aggressive replies but I think she was talking about Lourdes and the fact that she looks likes she breathes through her mouth in every pic taken of her. I don’t mind the nose piercing and just think she’s maintaining the trend; it just doesn’t look good on her. Maybe if the piece of jewelry was daintier, it would look alright.

      • QQ says:

GAAAHHHH YOUGUYSES don’t embarrass me with all these Lovies *hugs kisses and pot cookies for everyone!!*

      • Lahdidahbaby says:

My hero = QQ. Love yr style, Girl. Wish I’d had the confidence to act on my own badass-chic sense of style when I was younger. I do now, but damn, I wasted so many years worrying about being judged or gawked at. Now I just say “You likee? Fine. You no likee? That’s cool too.” We get just one damn shot in life at being who we are, being FULLY who we are. No one -NO ONE – should ever have to apolgize for that OR hide it for fear of judgy people (who are usually just cowards who are so repressed they can’t bear seeing someone else living their own truth)!

      • Lady D says:

Long time fan of QQ’s comments and purple hair. Feria has a new blue/silver hair dye out that I have been dying (no pun intended) to try. I’m buying it tomorrow. Thanks for reminding me I don’t care what others think, Lahdidahbaby.

      • Mltpsych says:

Family can be so judgey. When I got my sleeve, which is an expensive, beautiful work of art, my mother told me I looked like a “butch, lesbian truck driver”. Wow mom my husband doesn’t think so but ok. People need to check themselves. I am a mom, a wife and a private practice therapist, it’s dumb to judge people with body art.

      • AnotherDirtyMartini says:

QQ, I love your hair and all its purple glory!

    • Almondjoy says:

Yea you guys it’s super annoying. Any deviation from the standard and it’s “unfortunate” or trashy, as someone said down below. Also, nose rings don’t stop you from breathing lol.

      • kay says:

lol shhhhhh…don’t be so tolerant 😉 and no common sense, either!
        <3
i kinda live to read you and qq, at this point.

edit: ah, and now i feel like a bit of dink for calling people intolerant for thinking what they think. dayum…it does work two ways, after all…

      • Almondjoy says:

        Thanks Kay ❤️❤️

Yup QQ is so awesome! Sometimes I feel like the crazy lady who disagrees with everybody lol… Thanks for understanding my ramblings.

      • Jwoolman says:

Do people take them out to blow their nose or if they have a cold and are drippy? Just trying to figure out how they work… I don’t think they would get along with my allergies even if I could get past my longstanding cringiness about anything piercing my body anywhere. I can’t even watch a blood draw.

      • sauvage says:

@Jwoolman: Usually, it’s not a problem. It is metal, after all, and therefore slick. You can take it out if you want to, but usually a cold passes just like it did pre-piercing.

      • fqaaqwwah says:

It even looks disgusting on a bull.

    • Mrs. Odie says:

Yes! I teach high school and the septum ring is extremely popular with women lately.

  3. Nev says:

    Just beautiful.

  4. Anastasia says:

My daughter had one of these when she was about 18-19 years old. She’s 21 now and got rid of it around her 20th birthday. It’s one of those things that, when they get past it, it doesn’t leave a lasting reminder to the outside world.

In other words, as a parent, I didn’t find it to be a hill worth dying on. You can’t tell now that she ever had it. You also can’t tell she had a regular nose piercing. You also can’t tell she ever gauged her ears (because she stopped early in the process).

I don’t like the “bull ring” look, either, but if piercing their nose is the worst thing they’re doing, thank your lucky stars (Madonna pun intended).

  5. OriginallyBlue says:

Am I weird to think she looks like FKA Twigs in the header?

  6. Turtle says:

Nose rings have always irked me, too, but it’s inoffensive. It’s heartening to see she’s a few months away from 20, the daughter of one of the most famous people on the planet, and yet she’s managed to quietly live her life, go to school and stay off the radar, for the most part.

    • lucy2 says:

I agree, she seems to be doing pretty well, especially considering all the custody drama within her family.
I don’t care for nose rings either, but to each their own, and she’ll probably remove it eventually anyway.

    • Ash says:

      +1

Lourdes seems positively poised and mature, all things considered when it comes to her family.

I’m not a fan of nose rings, but to each her own.

  7. Sam says:

I have my nose pierced, but the nostril, not the septum. And to be honest, they do kind of bother me slightly, visually. But that’s because, unlike a nostril, the septum jewelry hangs down. From afar, it can look like an unfortunate boogie. I always have to fight the urge to reach over and say, “You got a little something there.” Yeah, I’m not a huge fan. BUT, that being said, they are popular because they are easy to hide. You just flip it up and nobody is the wiser.

In that header pic, is that shorts or a skirt she’s wearing? Either way, as my mom would say, “She’s a stiff breeze away from flashing the baby chute.”

    • coconut says:

I can see the aesthetic of a nostril piercing, but I do not understand the aesthetic of the septum piercing. I only think cow/bull when I see them.

Lourdes may indeed be a mouth-breather…maybe she has bad allergies.

  8. Heather says:

She looks great and I like her style.

    • senna says:

I’m in my 30s but I’m a big fan of the styles worn by the younger generation’s trendsetters lately- effortlessly minimal clothing coupled with layered jewelry, under-done makeup and shoes you can walk while wearing. It looks great; beautiful and interesting, but not try-hard. I even love the septum piercing trend, not that I’m going to get one myself.

  9. Joannie says:

I think she’s gorgeous but really dislike the nose ring. It looks trashy to me but that’s just my opinion.

  10. Sisi says:

hasn’t she had this piercing for a while now?

  11. Colette says:

    Much ado about nothing.
How are her grades in college?

  12. Ayra. says:

I have this (unfortunate) fixation with noses. If I look at someone’s nose, it’ll be the only thing I focus on, the septum ring just makes it worse lol, I actually do like the piercing though, it’s easy enough to hide when you get sick of it.

  13. Lynnie says:

RIP to the poor Italian woman. So sad

  14. Tiffany says:

Prince’s cause of death was bought by People. Opioid overdose. Damn.

  15. BFDL says:

I don’t mind nose rings or any piercings really. I don’t take piercings as seriously as tattoos. Now that is something you definitely need to think over.

Being Madonna’s child I’m surprised she hasn’t done more to her body.

  16. Irm says:

I have had a nose ring since 1994, they were popular then and seem to have resurfaced on trend the last few years. I haven’t worn mine regularly for several years…and my teenager hates it when I do. LOL

Just thought it was interesting nose rings are associated with the younger generation. I’m 46 fwiw.

  17. Bridget says:

I disagree that it’s unfortunate. Pretty standard college kid nose ring 🙂

  18. thelazylioness says:

It’s the ’90’s all over again and I’m thrilled. I loved the clunky heels, simple goth style and creative updos.

  19. miasys says:

Not sure how she could possibly rebel with anything Madonna hasn’t already done. She is a very strikingly beautiful girl.

  20. Ange says:

A 17 year old girl was recently set on fire here in Aus by her ex boyfriend as well. As far as I know she’s still in hospital in an induced coma, poor thing. It’s hard to articulate but the youth of them both makes it even more terrible to me, like he’s so young to be so violent in such a targeted way and it’s unsettling.

  21. EM says:

Not a fan of these piercings. They’re bovine, in the sense that I tend to see these piercings on bulls at the Royal Show and they do nothing in terms of complimenting one’s face.
However, it’s not a fake backside, not painted on brows & over-contoured face. At the end of the day, the jewelry can be removed.
She looks like a normal young person, not an over injected and painted Kardashian. Lourdes is in charge of her own identity.

  22. CharlotteCharlotte says:

I would get a piercing, but have allergies. To everything. The only jewellery I can wear are brooches.

Lourdes is beautiful and is playing with her look. Most people do it. And I think she looks so much like Rocco. The Ciccone genes are strong.

  23. AnotherDirtyMartini says:

I have yet to see ANYONE look good in the type of nose ring…I guess it’s a septum ring really – that Lourdes has. If you love seen someone look great in one, pics please 🙂

  24. AnotherDirtyMartini says:

For shame, I’ve never seen Guys & Dolls! But Brando was hot. I’ll have to watch it. Now Ewan McGregor can sing! I’m excited if this is really happening! Count me in
