Amber Rose has a new talk show! The Amber Rose Show is a weekly, not daily, talk show on VH1 and it debuts on July 8th at 11 pm. Considering the late-night scheduling and the fact that her show is on cable, I’m guessing that it will be pretty dirty and funny. It will also be sex-positive, at least that’s Amber’s goal. Amber chatted with the NYDN about her show and of course she had to throw a little bit of shade on Kim Kardashian and her family. Even though Amber and Kim have met up and sipped the tea, that doesn’t mean that Amber won’t take a few swipes here and there.
On her beef with Kylie Jenner & Khloe Kardashian last year: “Being a dancer and dealing with older men, gave me the humility and knowledge to speak on such a subject [of Tyga and Kylie].”
Why the Kardashians are famous: “But let’s face it. The only reason these girls have a career is because their older sister had a little fun on tape.”
A sex-positive show: “I definitely wanted a platform to talk about ‘sex-positive’ and other issues to show people who I really am.”
Hearing the comment “Women should avoid dressing like sluts in order not to be victimized”: “I deal with talk like that every day. I recently dealt with that when my ex (Kanye) said he had to take 30 showers after he’d been with me. We were happy when we were together and now I’m getting slut-shamed because we’re not anymore . . . and it’s unfair. I’m sick of it . . . and I’m here for my girls.”
How she ended up with a talk show produced by Dr. Phil: The walk ended up on VH1 after she did a “slut-shaming” segment promoting the event on the Dr. Phil-produced “The Doctors.” “The producers loved me and told me I needed my own show. Dr. Phil was blown away by the pilot and he and his team have been helping me get my chops up . . . I’m being schooled by the best in the business.”
I remember a time when Dr. Drew Pinsky did Loveline and that was one of the most sex-positive things on TV. And now Dr. Drew is using really sick people for ratings and Dr. Phil is suddenly the arbiter of sex-positivity? Wonders never cease. Anyway, it will be interesting to see if Amber’s show is successful. I think she’ll probably be a decent weekly talk show host, but I’m not sure if this particular show and format will be good for her. As for what she says about the Kardashians… no lies detected!

Demon Mother used such things to get ratings from the very beginning episodes. There was one about naked pics of Kourtney (and Kim? can’t remember) when Kourtney was underage, allegedly somebody released them (probably on Demon Mother’s payroll… D.M. most likely was involved in the sex tape release, she certainly was involved in editing it and that’s why they deny the golden shower scene that people saw before editing). Demon Mother was shown pushing Kim to pose for Playboy, falsely claiming Marilyn Monroe did it (Marilyn posed for a photographer when she was poor and about to get evicted, he sold them to Playboy when she was famous and it almost derailed her career). Demon Mother even wanted Playboy to take pics of herself… So although D.M. will tell the story as her approaching the network with the idea of a reality show about her allegedly interesting family – the interest was clearly based on sex and nudity and still is. There’s a reason their “modeling” shows as much skin as possible and actual clothing is very tight (to the point of making normal functions difficult) and the breasts falling out of your shirt look is favored. Kim continues to do her part by shedding her clothes on camera every chance she gets. Which is 24/7 now thanks to cell phone cameras and selfies.
So yes, Kris Jenner is a pimp. She has been using her daughters for sex and nudity and near-nudity to sell her shows since episode 1. That’s why she gave her 15 or 16 year old youngest daughter to a much older Tyga without a second thought. Good for ratings. She couldn’t pimp out the only boy so easily so she paid little attention to him.

Kim expected that tape to be released. She went right up to the camera and introduced herself by name. Who does that on a private sex tape?!? Her goal was always to be famous and the tape was a step toward that goal. I would not be surprised if she discussed the idea with her mother first.

The ones without shame, meaning they like the show and some even believe the plot is real and not manufactured for ratings, spend lots of cash on buying their products. Which keeps the Kardashians relevant and provides financial growth. Companies will continue to hire this family and invest large amounts of money in them because they know it’s a solid investment. They are too popular not to be in business with.
I like these fans because they’re honest with themselves and don’t analyse to death why these people are famous because they’re enjoying this family.
Then you have the fans who think they aren’t fans because they are embarrassed. Because they’re following a family they hate but want to follow their moves anyway. They hatewatch the show and discuss the family while disapproving and wishing they would go away. Maybe they don’t throw their money at them, but they keep the interest on a gossip and popular culture level alive. Maybe even more because most opinion pieces seem to come from people who think they aren’t worthy of their pop culture status.
These embarrassed fans don’t see they’re just as much a part of the Kardashian relevancy as the shameless fans.

Tha fan group that has always baffled me is true-fan -group, The ones who believe it is real. I don’t watch any form of reality shows. From the cooking and backing to the court of justice shows, they all seem such a scripted reality it’s a total waste of time for me.
However wht I find interesting is which shows keep being prodiced and why.
For exapmle ther is this model Show in Germany :Germany’s next topmodel. Aprt from the very first winner it hasn’t produced ONE top model in all of ist 11 seasons. So why is it still on air? Apparently the money the sponsors get are enormous. After each Show the orders for mabeline products are going up 500%! So who cares about substance?
I honestly do not believe that these people have “fans”. In fact, I don’t actually believe that anyone watches their shows. I myself have never seen even a minute of any Kardashian-adjacent show, nor do I know anyone who has! Seriously, who isNo one in my peer group does. None of my teenage nieces do. They can’t possibly have any type of fan base abroad. Seriously, who is watching these shows??
I’ve always thought that the Kardashian “fandom” was a bit of a shell game. A huge part of their profile is their social media presence, and these huge number of social media followers are a part of their selling points… yet it’s been found over and over that a huge percentage of their followers are bogus accounts. Viewership on their show on E has been down for years. Aside from Kylie’s surprisingly successful makeup kits and those ridiculous apps, has any Kardashian backed product actually been successful?
Starkiller, their fan base is such a small number. During some of the more successful episodes of their krap show, viewership reached as high as 4.8 million in America. Recent seasons had viewers reaching from 2 to 3 million. When you consider that the U.S. population is around 324 million, 4.8 million Kardashian viewers is only about 1.5% of the population. That’s miniscule.
Yes, Bridget, their influence is certainly exaggerated and faked. What sensible and logical person is fooled by their BS, when that family can’t even be consistent with their lies? I suspect the majority of their fanbase are people with questionable judgment anyways – namely teenagers.
Loveline was a great show and way ahead of its time. Too bad Dr. Drew has only went downhill from there.

I saw her once on a talk show with Rev Run and Tyreese, educating them about slut-shaming. She was really fantastic, even after Rev and Tyreese were kind of misogynistic and thick-headed when confronted with the truth that a girl in a short skirt at a club isn’t “asking for it.”

Looks like slut shaming to me. The Kardashians may have started from a sex tape, but that’s far from the only reason they are famous. Like it or not, they hustled their ass off to get where they are. Amber got her start because of sex, too, but if you say that to her she will call you a slut shamer. Guess the same standards don’t apply to families she dislikes.

The family is well-known because their initial attention came from Kim’s sex tape. That is not a judgment on Kim, it’s a factual statement. Facts cannot shame you.
Amber has never denied that she started as a stripper. She has never hidden it, never denied it, etc. She has also said that it was a job and that it doesn’t make her bad for doing it. That’s her whole point – it was just a job, it says nothing about her character. So please, let’s stop crying shaming where none exists.

The Kardashians had 15 minutes of fame with that sex tape and PMK was smart enough to turn them into several years. I do think PMK is a smart woman, because reality TV stars generally stay relevant for only a couple years, so I gotta admit she’s got wits. But that doesn’t take away from the fact that without the sex tape, people would have no idea who Kim is.

I think she’s awesome and I’m really happy for her, I rarely get to watch tv but I hope it does well for her and if I get a chance, I’ll watch. The only thing is would say is that there’s no telling if the Kardashian girls would have a different career if not for Kim’s sex tape, but yes, I think even Kim herself would probably admit that sex tape is the biggest, if not only, reason they are where they are, doing what they’re doing, today. I detect hypocrisy. On the one hand, she’s pissed that she’s been ‘slut shamed’ by Kanye and others for the choices she made or her past or whatever. On the other hand, she thinks it’s totally ok to slut shame Kim for her choices.
As for claiming that they’re only famous for the sex tape… Not really. Lots of D-list celebrities made sex tapes. PMK and her Ilk were just really, really talented at milking whatever publicity they could out of it and turning it into a moneymaker. Today she’s making money from all sorts of things from appearances, to her app, to product endorsements, to the show of course – and it really is the brand (like it or not), that they’ve built. If it were so easy just based on launching a sex tape, Farrah would be rolling in the money by now.
