Dana Reeve, widow to the late Christopher Reeve, succumbed to lung cancer late Monday at the age of 44. Reeve continued her husband’s work as a champion for stem cell treatment and research as the head of the Christopher Reeve Foundation. She was a devoted wife, mother and activist and will be missed:
Reeve, a non-smoker all her life, died on Monday, the [Christopher Reeve] foundation’s president and chief executive Kathy Lewis said.
“We are extremely saddened by the death of Dana Reeve, whose grace and courage under the most difficult of circumstances was a source of comfort and inspiration to all of us,” Lewis said in a statement.
