Gee, what was Donald Trump thinking about during his economic speech?

wenn28667059

Donald Trump had a truly terrible week last week. It was historically bad, as in… political commentators were really stretching to find any presidential candidate who f—ked up as badly and as consistently as Donald Trump. There were lots of issues, everything from Trump’s tone-deaf attacks on a gold-star family, to Trump kicking a baby out of his rally, to his flat-out mistakes and lies about vital national security issues. By the end of the week, the polls were in, and Trump’s numbers had plummeted to historic lows too. At least those polls were good for something: somewhere, someone convinced Trump to “reset” his campaign and try out some new messaging, and he’s been trying to stay on the message-of-the-day for a few days now. It hasn’t gone well, as you can imagine.

The first issue was that Trump is so childlike and stupid, he actually thinks he can bounce back all of the criticisms lodged at him and throw them onto Hillary Clinton. The centerpiece argument of Clinton’s campaign has become: Donald Trump is unhinged, unwell, dangerous and incapable of being commander-in-chief. Clinton is striking a chord with everyone who has watched Trump speak for any length of time. He seems unbalanced, like a preening, superficial moron and bulls—t artist. So guess Trump’s latest line of attack against Hillary Clinton? He’s using words like: unhinged, unbalanced, incompetent, horrible, dangerous and brainwashed. Next he’ll say that she looks like she’s covered in Cheeto dust, she’s incoherent, she’s a childish bully and she’s got a creepy relationship with her daughter. Donald Trump lacks self-awareness.

Anyway, the point of this story is that Trump’s message-of-the-day on Monday was that he will be great on the economy. How will he be great? What is his plan for greatness? He’ll be great, he insists. So great. You know what else is great? Titties. Titties in Detroit.

My first thought was he just fudged “entities,” but he was apparently trying to say “cities.” How can you screw up “cities” so badly and not immediately go, “I mean, cities, not titties, obviously.” But Donald Trump doesn’t make mistakes! Detroit Titties for everyone!!

What makes it even funnier is he said titties then pointed to his crotch.

    • Michael Kelly says:

His speeches are painful to listen to even f you discount the poison that is coming out of his mouth. He is the worst public speaker I have ever heard run for President

    • Bluebelle says:

Also, the letter signed by Republican leaders declining to endorse Trump was enlightening, and the wording of it really shed light unto what the world thinks of Trump. These people have worked with various presidents and have aided into the most important decisions America has taken over the years. Of course, Trump rebuffed as stupidly as he can.

This is one of the sites, but there’s plenty more everywhere else. http://time.com/4444125/trump-gop-security-experts/

      • nicole says:

‘Beleive me, beleive me’, is all I ever get from his speeches, he is such a bad speaker, he is one tone the whole time, and always looks so enraged, I cant bear him. That letter was the best thing about yesterday along with Senator Susan Collins also coming out against him, at least people are now starting to stand up to him and let the country see he cant be trusted to be president, he has to be stopped before it so too late.

      • Tiffany :) says:

GOP Senator Susan Collins also announced today that she is not voting for him.

It is good to see so many people being strong and going against party lines to stand against bigotry and recklessness.

      • holly hobby says:

How about “many people are saying” used as a source? He falls back on this a lot! Who are the people, Orangino?

      • JenniferJustice says:

The worst I’ve seen him was at his own party’s debate. He was telling his own party members to be quiet, stop talking, stop asking questions and just let me do the talking. This man really does think he shouldn’t have to answer to anybody – That nobody should be allowed to question him. Do those that still support him think he will heed advice from even his own cabinet? He won’t. He’ll do what he wants and believe he’s smarter and stronger for it. He thinks he is smarter than he is and doesn’t need advisers. That is dangerous my friends.

      • Lucky Charm says:

@ holly hobby, they’re the voices in his head. The same ones telling him about the dancers in the street on 9/11 and the $4 million ransom being offloaded from the plane in Iran.

    • Cran says:

    • HenrysBits says:

Are there any Trump supporters on Celebitchy that would like to educate the rest of us as to why Trump is the better candidate? Because voting for him seems unfathonable to me!

      • JenniferJustice says:

I’m not prodding or taking jabs – I have a few friends who are Trump supporters but all they care about is the gun aspect. Seriously, that’s the only reason they support Trump and the only reason they hate Hillary – guns! These are country folk who hunt and have many guns. They’ve been brainwashed into thinking that Hillary is going to take their guns the minute she takes seat at the White House. They have no understanding of the fear in urban areas, cities with high LGBT populations, minorities, or any other regular victims of hate crime. They think it should be okay to own an assault rifle because all they do is target practice with them. They don’t empathize or see that the only reason they don’t care about gun control is because the gun violence doesn’t touch them or their loved ones because of where they live. I’ve said as much to them and they become silent. They don’t disagree but won’t admit it’s more than a valid point. They just go silent. Needless to say, we don’t talk politics at this point.

I know, I know….how can I be friends with such nimrods? Because it’s not all of who they are, because they’re only repeating what they’ve heard and been raised to believe. They are genuinely kind generous people who would give the shirt off their back if you asked…just not their guns. Those are the Trump supporters I know personally. The ones I don’t know personally, I beleive are racist haters who jump on any bandwagon that makes them feel superior and entitled to this country. I’ve said many times, Trump panders to the ignorant and fearful – just like Hitler did. The scary thing is there are a lot of ignorant fearful people in this country, so his pandering to that population is not only smart, but in regards to getting votes – it’s successful. My hope and faith is that there are more of us than there are them, but that means we all need to get out there and vote.

      • Lucky Charm says:

I don’t think so, because everyone here seems pretty reasonable, rational and sane!

      • ol cranky says:

I asked an old friend if he could delineate his rationale to support Trump other than that he hates Clinton and feels compelled to malign her and any liberal politician (he had been trashing Bill Clinton’s sexual history as a response to someone’s comment about their concerns about Trump’s erratic behavior, and incendiary rhetoric). His response was indicative that he not only believes everything Trump says to be gospel truth and discounts any critique (even from conservatives) of any Trump policy:

“Across the board income tax reductions
Reduce tax brackets from 7 to 3 (4 if you count 0%)
Allow business to bring $$ hidden overseas back in to this country instead of hiding it from taxes
Bring back jobs as corporations spend that money here
        Close corporate loopholes
Crack down on China’s illegal trade practices
Retract illegal and/or over reaching executive orders
Build a border wall-the fence ain’t cutting it
        Vette immigrants-properly
        Repeal obamacare
        Rebuild our military
Wipe out ISIS, the “jv team”

      • Adele Dazeem says:

I’m not a Trump supporter by any means, but I have family in Appalachia where Trump has a stronghold. As much as I hate to admit this, he has done a great job of reaching out to unemployed, disgruntled coal miners (that blame Obama, Hillary etc for mine closures due to green energy policies) and giving them hope. False hope mind you, but hope. He tells them of how he is going to punish the factory owners that have moved their manufacturing overseas and bring back coal jobs, manufacturing to the US, etc.

      • CL says:

I don’t get the fear that HC is going to take their guns. The same exact thing was said about BO, and everyone still has their guns. When Sandy Hook happened, that was the time to radically change gun laws. Nothing of the sort happened.
I think everyone’s guns are safe. I hate that.

    • Rayya Kirt says:

He was thinking about his daughters legs and whether his orange was turning yellow. He had no idea about this economics business. Usually he tips his illegal workers in threats. Once ya go bankrupt like a billionaire, numbers stop meaning things. You basically live a Ponzi life.

  2. NewWester says:

I am so looking forward to watching Donald debate Hillary Clinton. That will be fun to watch

    • Kate says:

There is some thought that a debate won’t happen. Trump certainly doesn’t want to go one on one with Hillary, but there is actual risk for Hillary as well. What if, by some miracle, Trump is actually half-way coherent? That for one 3 hour period he is able to exceed expectations so enormously that people look at him and say, “wait, he isn’t that bad. He does know something.” It really is dicey for Hillary. Every one expects Hillary to absolutely wipe the floor with him. What if, by some absolute act of the devil (not God), she doesn’t? Of course it is more likely that he implodes and the vomit he spews on a daily basis is on full display, but don’t discount the fact that there is huge risk for Hillary and maybe neither one of them really wants to have a debate, let alone 3. I really don’t think there is any way 3 debates actually happen.

      • Esmom says:

I don’t know, I don’t see how he could ever be halfway coherent. I get how the pubic was impressed with Sarah Palin for exceeding expectations and carefully pronouncing Ahmadinejad correctly but she clearly sat through hours of prep and I can’t for the life of me imagine Trump tolerating that.

      • Onerous says:

Yeah… There’s 0% chance of him being coherent in a debate forum. The only time he doesn’t sound unhinged is when he’s literally reading word for word from a prompter or piece of paper. That’s not a possibility during a debate.

      • lilacflowers says:

@Esmon, Palin may have correctly pronounced Ahmadinejad but she mispronounced Biden, calling him Obiden instead.

      • Iknowwhatboyslike says:

I understand completely. Like in the case of Sarah Palin, the bar was set so low for her, that when she stitched a few sentences together, her performance was praised. Even though she answered not one question. The thing here is: Hillary Clinton is an excellent debater. She knows her stuff. The only fall back here is that she’s not quick with insults. If Trump forgoes ettiquette, and throws the e-mails, Benghazi, and other nonsense at her, then yes, she may come off as flubbering. I personally believe that Trump will NEVER debate Hillary. It’s one thing debating 15 other candidates, but he’s never done it one-on-one. Hills did several in 2008 primary against the president, and a few times against Bernie.

      • Naya says:

One political commentator talking about this speech said “he spoke in complete sentences and stayed on the prompter refusing to address the interruptions by protesters”. This was intended as praise. And its what happens with lowered expectations. Hillary has to land deadly blows while all he has to do is not yell any misogynistic slurs in her direction. And if she sounds knowledgeable, he will just call her elitist for not dumbing down her message. We are definitely in uncharted territories here, we cant assume a thing.

      • Annetommy says:

I also feel that if Hillary wipes the floor with him, misogyny – what a nag, bit@ch, shrew, you can see who wears the pants etc etc etc – comes into play. Women who are articulate and forceful are not always popular. I remember research that – I paraphrase – found that if a women spoke for more than a third of the time in a two person meeting with a man, the other person thought she’d spoken too much. Hillary has that depressing sort of attitude to cope with. Being very good could potentially be to her disadvantage.

      • LovelyDayz says:

I have heard he has scant understanding of foreign policy – i.e. Sarah Palin. If he really is a nimrod about history and subtleties – won’t a debate be be a slam dunk for HC? Also when is the first one ? I want to make an huge family party of it.

      • Dinah says:

Hillary is a brilliant counterpuncher in debates. Just like Bobby Kennedy. Like astrologists say, you tangle with a train and you debate with a Scorpio only once. : )

    • Cannibell says:

This! Hopefully all the sports bars will carry it on their massive TVs. I mean, the drinking game potential here is “YUGE!” (“crooked,” “irresponsible,” “great,”…..)

      • Kitten says:

And if he says “titties” again, free drinks for everyone.

      • Rayya Kirt says:

Once Hillary runs circles around him, his little head will explode into skittles and all this unmedicated caveman will be able to redundantly sputter is how fat and unattractive Hillary is and how much of a loooooser her outfit’s are and how she wasted her time being educated instead of pretending she went to college like his silent robotic Duracell battery powered “wife” who at LEAST would NEVER be caught up in any e-mail scandal because OTHER people write her words FOR her circa former first first lady. So take that Hillary.

    • littlemissnaughty says:

Is he going to though? If he has two braincells left, he’ll simply refuse because he has nothing to gain from it. He has no plan, no arguments, no points of view he could actually debate. I mean for our sake and for posterity I hope he debates Clinton but I doubt it.

    • lilacflowers says:

Trump is trying to get out of the debates.

      • Esmom says:

        What a shocker.

Funny how even someone as self-absorbed as him knows he could never hold his own in that situation.

      • lilacflowers says:

He is blaming Hillary, even though she had nothing to do with debate scheduling and he is claiming the NFL wrote a letter asking that the debates be rescheduled because they conflict with games. The NFL has denied writing any such letter.

      • Esmom says:

        lilacflowers, of course he did.

      • gwen says:

He will look the utter fool he is if he weasels out of these debates. I don’t think his advisers will allow that.
Hillary has alot of experience with debating and Trump has next to none. I expect him to show the world how unprepared he really is to lead our country. I also hope he’ll also show the world how temperamental he is when Hillary comes at him hard.
I am so looking forward to all 3 debates.

    • Kylie says:

He won’t debate Hillary, he is already trying to get out of it. He wanted to complain about the steering on the same day as NFL games. Good luck finding dates in the fall that don’t have a major sport.

    • Fire Rabbit says:

He’s already trying to squirm out of them isn’t he? Right after the conventions his team was saying he wouldnt participate because one or two of them were scheduled during NFL games, believe it or not. Not enough people would watch him win- bwahahaha! Of course, it’s all a conspiracy against him too even though the bipartisan commission who runs the debates scheduled them long before Trump put his hat in the ring. He’s scared.

      • Lucky Charm says:

Yeah, he’s trying to use the “I won’t debate because they’re rigged” excuse to avoid any debate with Hillary.

      • Annetommy says:

He also wants the other candidates to be in the debates I believe, presumably to avoid a 1:1 with Hillary.

    • nicole says:

I hope Hillary can stand up to him, and show him up for what he is.

    • nicole says:

Hillary agreed yesterday to do all debates, no word From Trump yet.

      • isabelle says:

Heard one one the stations yesterday he is preparing for them but interesting they haven’t accepted them yet.

      • Justjj says:

Donald Trump is a raving lunatic. If he doesn’t debate her, it will reflect terribly on him. If he does debate her, she WILL wipe the floor with him, no question. She has been debating competitively since high school and has gone to law school. Debate is her strength. Not to mention they are nowhere near the same level intellectually. Debates require extemporaneous speaking skills and quick critical thinking. Donald Trump is simply too stupid to look good in a debate against Hillary. She should expect the ad hominem attacks, the sexist remarks, and the remarks about Benghazi. Her best bet will be to prepare for the most flagrant, off color things he could possibly say. What is this about him calling on those who exercise the second amendment to take care of Hillary?

  3. Lara K says:

I wonder how Ivanka sleeps at night. Having thrown her full support behind this… Thing.

    • Michael Kelly says:

I am thinking Ivanka is praying that he does not win. She seems rational so she must know how what a loon her father is

      • als says:

Yeah, but she also knows how great the power would be with a father that is president of the US. Just because she seems to be smarter than her dad (IF she really is), does not mean she is willing to use her smarts for good or in anyone’s service.

      • Sparkles says:

Ivanka does appear to be the most rational of the troop, but looks can certainly be deceiving. I wonder if Ivanka and Chelsea are still good friends. I know that if a friend’s father was attacking my mother the way that Trump attacks Hillary, there is absolutely no way I would be able to separate the politics from the friendship, especially when Ivanka has played such a major role in her father’s campaign.

    • Neelyo says:

I hope people don’t forget that she was right there with him every step of the way. She fully supported him and all of the horrible things he’s said. Not a single denial or rebuke.

      • vauvert says:

Not only that, but she maintains that her father is “great for women”, just like she is all for working moms. But her fashion company, which actually made something like $100M / year (read the estimate somewhere, haven’t actually checked, and I wouldn’t believe the figures coming straight from the company) but only employs a few people. The work is all done by a subcontractor – gee, I wonder where she learned THAT, and they manufacture everything overseas. But, you now, jobs for Americans will come from somewhere. Just not the Trumps. And to add insult to injury – this woman, who is the only female pick her father considers suitable for a government position, encourages working moms – by giving them the strict government mandated maternity leave.

I will never understand, Trump aside, why American women don’t lobby for decent mat leaves with pay and a guaranteed right to return to work. For all the BS about family values that all candidates spout, no one seems to be doing something real. And the tax credit for child care that Trump proposed is another half baked, no actual details proposal… with no amount or percentage specified.

      • Jwoolman says:

Vauvert- the parental leave in Ivanka’s company is unpaid. I think it’s for 12 weeks. That may be standard, but I don’t know. I’ve only heard what you said, that it’s the minimum required by the government.

      • mia girl says:

Here is the article published yesterday about Ivanka and the company that makes her fashion line. You are right @Jwoolman, this company does not offer any paid maternity leave.

        https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/wonk/wp/2016/08/08/ivanka-trump-says-she-supports-working-moms-the-women-who-design-her-fashion-line-dont-get-paid-maternity-leave/?hpid=hp_special-topic-chain_ivanka-130pm%3Ahomepage%2Fstory

      • The Eternal Side-Eye says:

        Exactly.

She was willing to say and do anything for a chance at the golden ticket too.

      • EM says:

I believe that she is driven by ambition as much as love for her father. She knows she will have a major cabinet role, her husband will also most likely end up with something and I believe she thinks they will be American “royalty”. Disgusting family.

    • The Eternal Side-Eye says:

She sleeps perfectly at night, because Ivanka’s biggest concern is Ivanka and at one point there was a close enough chance to her being a powerful presence in the White House.

The temptation for that power is more important than any false impression of intelligence or humble-nature. She, her husband, and the family are the type who’d sing with the Angels one day and then go dancing wih the Devil the next. It’s all about what benefits them.

  4. Megan says:

    Can’t stop laughing.

    • mia girl says:

I’ve been laughing at this since yesterday.

I am wondering how the h*ll he said got to that word.
      Freudian? Very probable
Maybe he mixed up towns and cities and it became titties?

On the other hand he was reading from a teleprompter (WTF?), which leads me to think maybe he’s like Ron Burgundy and will read whatever is on the prompter and this was a prank.

      “Titties. You stay classy Detroit!”

    • belindaya says:

      + 100000000 ,Megan .I can’t stop laughing either .I know it is tragic , but I can’t help myself!!!

  5. teatimeiscoming says:

How can anyone SERIOUSLY want this guy to be POTUS?! He shouldn’t even be in charge of a goldfish

    • Betsy says:

One of the boards I frequent has people saying strings of nonsense words like, “non-establishment,” “PC crap,” and “Hillary lies!”

      • teatimeiscoming says:

So a raging bizzaro businessman is a better alternative than someone who knows how to navigate the ins and outs of the political process? Those people… Just, damn.

      • Esmom says:

Yes, that is the mindset responsible for the rise of Trump. Those same talking points, repeated often enough, seem to be all the justification they need to support the raging orange monster.

      • teatimeiscoming says:

Man, we are a stupid group of people. If that’s the line of thinking, we deserve him.

Well…THEY deserve him; the rest of us deserve our own country led by a rational, nuanced person, away from The Cheeto King, Trumpmanistan and the people who got him where he is.

    • The Eternal Side-Eye says:

Oh I know a man who supports him and he’s the dumbest individual you could engage with. Ttump’s his perfect candidate. All big words with no confusing details and plans you can shout out while waving your beer in the air.

      “Gonna build that wall!”

      “Gonna bring the jobs back!”

  6. LadyJane says:

Obama said it correctly when he said no one outside the USA can understand what is going on with American that this guy is in the final 2 (or 3) for presidential election… a sad state of affairs if Donald wins or not.

    • littlemissnaughty says:

I respect Obama but he’s wrong. I can totally see this happening nearly anywhere in Europe right now except our electoral systems don’t make it as easy for someone like him to succeed. That’s the only reason why it probably can’t happen here. Not because people are that much smarter (*cough*Brexit*cough*). Maybe also because we’re a little more afraid of the lunatics because of the first half of the 20th century, the has a very different perspective on the worst a crazy politician can do to their country.

      • The Eternal Side-Eye says:

        Exactly right!

Trump isn’t an American problem. Hate and ignorance go worldwide and God help the population when they let that ignorance and fear cloud their judgement.

It’s like the people who say they don’t know how a candidate like Trump could ‘happen’. Really? Well maybe it’ll ruffle some feathers but the Republican Party has been pushing policy and ideas based on racism, sexism, and xenophobia for decades. They’ve rejected science and fact in favor of feelings and God. They bathe in their hypocrisy and then publicly condemn others and after nears of natural party decline by always being the ones to reject the future and change they ended up needing to reach out to the most simple minded, most dangerous, most radical to fluff up their ranks. From there Donald Trump was the fruit of the poison tree slowly growing.

I know exactly how we got Donald Trump and Obama does too, this isn’t shocking for anyone who’s read any history. Heck there’s a reason there’s so many Donald Trump/Hitler comparisons and no one with any grasp of that political tragedy can’t say they don’t understand how Trump is one of the last candidates.

      • MP says:

Well there is certainly fear mongering and xenophobia going on but at least in my country any candidate or an MP that would say half the stuff Trump has would be kicked out of his party.
That has happened. The public backlash for open misogyny and racism is luckily still big enough for parties to fear the consequences at the next election. Also other parties would refuse to work with them.
This is why I don’t understand the helplessness of the GOP on dealing with Trump. They seem to have no control over their party and what is said and done in their name and it’s quite concerning.

    • isabelle says:

Several other countries have elected right-wingers recently or had very very right wing candidates. America isn’t an exception. Look at the Philippines as an example and UK passing Brexit. Protests in a lot of countries, terrorism, open racism, the list goes on and on. The world is in another upheaval stage and its not jsut America. Understand what Obama is saying but America is going through what the rest of the world is going through right now. The real test, is if we elect our crazy or reject it.

      • Emma In Oz says:

As an Australian I am ashamed to admit that some of us recently elected the most racist, loud-mouthed, appalling example of humanity to our parliament – Pauline Hanson. I’d love to be able to pretend it’s an American problem only but it’s worldwide.

  7. boredblond says:

I hope the Clinton campaign will incorporate the thoughts of Mike Morrell (ex cia head) and the group of generals who have valid concerns about the donald into her campaign ads..these guys are talking serious stuff, and they aren’t just political talking heads.

    • Annetommy says:

Big Bad Don has described them as members of the failed elite or somesuch. You know, the people who didn’t think to build a wall, and know stuff….

    • Dinah says:

Mike Morrell is a man worth listening to. Very impressed with his conversation with Charlie Rose earlier today.

  8. Neelyo says:

This speech was interrupted by a group of female protesters, which probably prompted the ‘titties’ line.

The lone male protester shouted the best thing ever though and I hope it catches on. He yelled out, ‘Tiny hands, all you’ve got is tiny hands!’ You know he’s going to track the person down and start a Twitter feud with them.

    • EM says:

Did you see how he was barely holding it together – he so wanted to go off on these people but I guess his handlers have told him to behave. Maybe they were holding Ivanka hostage.

  9. Ginger Gal says:

I wish he had said “Bigly Titties”

  10. EnnuiAreTheChampions says:

Great titties. Fantastic. Everyone is saying that Detroit’s titties are the best. Other cities’ titties asked me to endorse them but I said no way. Sad!

  11. ladybosca says:

Hi all! Quick question… Do Pippa and Trump eat the same cheetos or use same spray tanning person?

  12. mom2two says:

All people have to do is look at Atlantic City and his bankruptcy history to see how “great” he would be on the economy…

    • Belle Epoch says:

EXACTLY. His specialty is declaring bankruptcy to get out of paying people what they deserve. Did you know Trump has 3,500 lawsuits against him? And that’s just the people who can afford to sue!

  13. Jwoolman says:

Fact-checkers have said that all or practically all of the statistics he used in his speech are incorrect, and often in the wrong direction. You would think politicians would get the point that such things are easily checked quickly today and easily publicized on the net and social media.

This must have been the speech the Republicans gave him to deliver, since he was obviously just reading it and not very familiar with it. It sounds pretty much like Ryan’s economic plan.

They also must have given him orders not to go after protesters. Speculation is that this speech (along with his unenthusiastic endorsement of McCain, Ryan, etc.) may be a condition for getting money from the Party to reimburse his loans to his campaigns. I doubt The Donald would do it for any other reason and he isn’t interested in advice from others. He has never felt the need to consult with anybody but himself, and that habit goes way back to the time long before he was in politics. He was quite honest about that point when he was asked in interviews. He also made up stuff readily in his pre-political days, lying about things that could be checked and claiming famous people were involved in his projects when they weren’t. So this is the real Donald and he’s been this way for decades.

    • mayamae says:

His fans simply don’t care. You could set up a split screen with immediate fact checking and they wouldn’t care. As he himself said – he could kill someone and his fans would still love him.

  14. Curtis says:

Did any of you listen to the whole speech? He wants to give more money back to middle class parents-All child care expenses will be tax deductible. How on earth can you all only focus the one mess up and not the whole picture. At least he didn’t “short circuit” like Hillary said. That’s worrisome. Do we want her hand on the nuclear weapons when she “short curciuts” next time.
What is Hillary’s plan to give more money back to the middle class? What about the jobs she promised in New York and didn’t deliver after I voted her in there.
I don’t want estblishment anymore. It hasn’t helped with race relations, more of my black brothers are being killed now. I want something different. Trump Pence 2016

    • notasugarhere says:

“Black guys counting my money! I hate it. The only kind of people I want counting my money are short guys that wear yarmulkes every day.” – Donald Trump

“Laziness is a trait in blacks.” – Donald Trump

      • Curtis says:

You really wanna go down that road? Google Clinton and Confederate flag. Don’t even get me started of the quotes when the Clintons rules Arkansas. And laziness is a trait in every class; every group fights that.

You will never convince me of how horribly the democrats have historically treated black people. Keeps us under their thumb with government assistance yet never teaching black kids how to code. How does that help our culture?

      • Who ARE these people? says:

Funny how the Democratic party has the support of more than 99% of African Americans polled. Are you saying they’re all stupid and ill-informed?

      • Lynnie says:

Stop being a troll Curtis. I should really just copy and paste all your other posts, they all follow the same formula:

“Oh noes. Why are you hurting my fwend? Did you hear the least-offensive thing he said today? Killary is bad!111!!! Btw, I am black and I speak for all the blacks so I know what I’m talking about!! Trump Pence 2016 y’all!”

At least switch it up from time to time geez

      • The Eternal Side-Eye says:

        Exactly Lynnie.

Sorry Curtis, some of us have memories longer than a goldfish and remember your last ramble about your multiple unnamed black brothers getting shot that ended with you not understanding a thing about crime or justice.

If you’re a schill for Trump or a troll you’re not doing well, though that whole ‘teach them to code!’ thing was inspired.

      • mia girl says:

Curtis – I’m assuming that “teaching black kids how to code” is about computer language, well a prominent Democrat set up a group to do just that…

      • Annetommy says:

I’m so old I thought code was a typo for cook…

    • Who ARE these people? says:

Um, facts: “Trump also advocated for a child-care tax deduction. For child care expenses of $10,000, the deduction would be worth $3,960 for someone making half a million a year, but only $1,500 for someone earning $75,000. Many poor families don’t even earn enough to pay federal income tax, so the deduction wouldn’t be worth anything to them.” (electoral-vote dot com)

If people kept accusing me, in public or in private, of doing things that I never did and was repeatedly proven never to have done, I’d short-circuit, too.

    • B n A fn says:

Yesterday I saw someone on TV someone saying those people with three nannies taken care of their children will be able to be reimbursed for their entire child care cost at the end of the year. I’m wondering if I will still be paying more info tax than Donald and the 1%. I bet my last dollar my taxes will be higher. WHEN ARE WE GOING TO SEE DT income tax, what is he hiding. Could it be he has been borrowing money from Russia, has not paid income tax, is lying about his net worth, has not given to to charities, ect.

      • Jwoolman says:

Love the autocorrect typo “info tax” – that explains why Trump just makes things up. He’s afraid he’ll have to pay info tax!

    • Tiffany :) says:

His economic policies will create trillions in debt. How can he build all of the infrastructure he talks about while drastically reducing tax revenue? (Answer: deficit spending)

He only loves the middle class when he can exploit them.

    • a reader says:

Deceptive. The child care tax write off he is proposing will only effect top income earners.

Right now, those who need the credit most already pay very little to no taxes. In addition, middle class families can already write off child and dependent care. Those who would benefit most are those that pay the most for child care. IOW, all his millionaire friends will be able to write off the hundreds of thousands they spend on au pairs and nannies. Don’t be fooled. This proposal will barely benefit middle and working class families.

    • H says:

Actually @Curtis, Fox Business said Trump’s tax proposal to give back the total of child care costs wasn’t the best plan. Sorry. A tax CREDIT for child care would be better for poor and middle income families as Trump’s plan would only help upper middle class and wealthy families. Fact checking, it’s good for your soul.

      • Curtis says:

Hillary has never run a successful business. She only knows how to spend the taxpayer’s money. And how often do you trust “Fox” for any news. Give me a break.

      • Lynnie says:

Ah yes, but 7? bankruptcies , multiple failed endorsements, the scam that is Trump U, losing ties with important businesses like Macy’s and Miss Universe/NBC, and the many lawsuits (which use up taxpayer money) for him stiffing contractors is soooooooo successful. He is truly a paragon of business acumen.

As for not trusting Fox, why is it that you sound like all of their stupidest talking points in text form, hm?

      • Yup, Me says:

Lynnie- You took the words right out of my mouth.

    • The Other Katherine says:

Guys, don’t feed the denizens of the Russian troll farms that Trump’s buddy Putin uses.

      • Tina says:

I’m sure you’re right, but this one at least appears to be a native English speaker. Spend that money, Vlad!

    • The Eternal Side-Eye says:

“Do we want her hand on the nuclear weapons when she “short curciuts” next time.”

Ha! You’re funny. No we want Trump’s hand obviously because a man who can’t handle a crying baby will totally have the patience for complex international diplomacy.

      I give you a 6/10 for creativity but a 2/10 for content.

      • mayamae says:

Don’t forget Trump questioning in his security briefing – multiple times within one hour – why we have nuclear weapons and aren’t using them. It’s absolutely amazing how Trump fans take all of his insanity and deflect it back on Hillary. Soon they will ask why she’s been married three times and birthed a child out of wedlock.

*clap clap clap clap clap clap clap!!!!!*

I have used the word “accomplished” and “dedicated public servant” so much when defending HRC’s fit for POTUS. It is so hard to comprehend how anyone with access to the internet can deny her history of dedicating her life to making the US a country that all Americans can be proud of.

People (and it seems a majority of them are men) seem threatened by how accomplished a WOMAN she is. Like her success means that she either lied, deceived or manipulated her way to the top. I think many of Trump’s supporters look at strong women as a threat, as if they steal jobs and reward away from men, as they accuse immigrants and refugees of doing.

I do not live in the US, but am watching this election closely. I cannot stand Trump, haven’t since the day he his brand started to seep into public consciousness. I always thought he was cheesy as hell, but harmless. Now his smarmy backroom shenanigans are being hailed as groundbreaking, and I can’t understand why??? I hate to say it, but if HRC were a man, there would be no contest, no debate on who the better candidate is. But because she is on the brink of making history, of breaking all the good ol’ boy’s clubhouse rules, looks like she has a few obstacles yet to hurdle. I say GO HILLARY! She has my support in spirit, and I hope sanity, commonsense and conscience wins out in the end!

      • Annetommy says:

Great posts Jaded and teebee, sums it up 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏

    • holly hobby says:

And how is Orangino going to give money back to the middle class? Congress passes the budget! Not him. It is totally laughable that people actually believe Orangino can act as a dictator (ban journalists who disagree with him, build a wall.).

What he’s saying has shades of Nazism. I’m waiting for him to endorse book burning.

      • Jaded says:

Let’s not overlook the fact that his so-called “Economic Advisory Panel” consists of an all-male team of billionaires that come mostly from Wall Street.

    • isabelle says:

Guess you missed the part where he is deregulating wall street and that is always so great for the middle class lol. Wall street always has the middle class in mind haha. Oh and do you really want to compare Hillary to what Trump said last week, since when is “short-circuiting” anywhere comparable to “Why can’t we use them”? which was repeated multiple time by Trump.

    • Jwoolman says:

Tax deductible just means at best a small discount for non-rich folk (10% for most of it, 15% for amount above the first tier) based on the taxable income. More likely they will only be able to take the standard deduction anyway so they won’t see any of that new deduction. People need to itemize deductions to be able to benefit, but most of us don’t because the standard deduction is bigger. The ones who might benefit are those who can pay for full-time professional nannies.

The real killer is removing the estate tax (which only applies to the very rich) and big tax cuts for the very rich. That takes money away from programs benefitting the non-rich and puts it in the pockets of people like Trump. They aren’t really going to spend more as a result – if you want to encourage spending to stimulate the economy, give money to the people with lower income.

  15. Who ARE these people? says:

Given the “enhancements’ of the women in his life, Donald Trump certainly knows something about pouring money into titties.

  16. notasugarhere says:

Constantly screaming “I know you are but what am I?” is Trump’s campaign strategy.

  17. AngelaH says:

Detroit titties are amazing! I have a couple of my own.

  18. triplecardinal says:

Hillary Clinton will go through debate prep courtesy of Bill Clinton.

    Enough said.

    • Curtis says:

Really? So she needs a man’s help to win? Y’all are something else. You say you believe in gender equality but say she needs Obama or Bill to get her into the office. Let’s judge her on HER record, not theirs. Right?

      • B n A fn says:

You do know everyone needs to be prep for one of the biggest debate in their life. Let’s hope DT is preparing because he has no idea how to do the job he is applying for. He wanted John K to be his running mate, vp to take care of domestic and foreign affairs while he work on making America great, lol. Btw, I bet ivanka is helping prep him. Hillary will wipe the floor with Donald.

      • Who ARE these people? says:

Curtis, is your name really Curtis?

Because, y’all know, some people choose names that sound like certain names.

Like Calvin Harris (real name: Adam Wiles).

      • The Other Katherine says:

Way to say that the comment you’re responding to said something it didn’t actually say, Curtis. Tell your employer you deserve an A for effort.

Go practice your dezinformatsiya somewhere else — we see what you’re doing here.

      • Curtis says:

Really B n A fn ? Because I just looked that up and there is NO proof not even ONE article that states he ever wanted John Kerry. Why do y’all have to propagate lies? If your candidate is the best, then she will win; but you don’t have to tear someone down to build yourself up.

      • Lynnie says:

John K as in John Kaisich you idiot. You know the Ohioan governor who Trump, Jr. called on behalf of Sr. and basically offered him the chance to be “the most powerful Vice-President in all of history.” Lmaoooooooo, go home you did your best for today.

      • Tiffany :) says:

Curtis, it is clear you need some additional information. Here is more on the Kasich matter:

“Trump’s son Donald Trump Jr. reached out to him with an enticing proposal for the Ohio governor.

Did Kasich want to serve as vice president? More specifically, as characterized by The Times, the “most powerful vice president ever”?

Trump Jr. reportedly explained that his father’s vice president would be put in charge of foreign and domestic policy. The Kasich adviser then asked what Trump himself would be in charge of if that were the case.

        His reply?

“Making America great again,” according to The Times.

      • teebee says:

CURTIS, You are so tiresome. So pedantic, petty and tiring. Why are you even here? Your arguments are showing your obtuseness, you’re popping up on the most innocuous of comments, because in the end your disdain for Hillary can only be reduced to tit-for-tat specious false equivalencies.

Guess what. Hillary is married to a former two-term POTUS. Don’t try and argue that her husband’s assistance is in ANYWAY an unfair advantage, or a sign of her lack of qualifications. She has a partnership with her husband, and now they share a very very important mutual goal. Getting her elected. Deal with it. SMDH!!!!!!!!!!

      • Jwoolman says:

Curtis- by preparation they mean practice simulations of likely debate questions and time limits and Trump’s bizarre behavior. They don’t mean she needs Bill’s help with the answers. I think someone bigger and louder than Bill would work better, though, someone who can scream “Crooked Hillary!” And “Second Amendment!” at the top of their lungs while Hillary is speaking. I would love to see Hillary just quietly go over to Trump and disconnect his microphone if he pulls that. He likes to talk over other people.

    • Tiffany :) says:

Apparently, Al Franken is also at the top of the list to do debate prep with her. He has written books about right wing radio, etc., and knows a lot of their talking points. Plus, he is quick witted and would be a good sparing partner.

  19. Curtis says:

So apparently I can’t have different views without being personally attacked? Yet you guys blame the Trump voters on being the hotheads. Have you read the responses to what I said? Suggesting I’m lying about my name (evidently you believe everyone can lie BUT your candidate) and saying I’m a “Putin” bot. Nope. Born in raised in the USA and proud of it. I didn’t personally attack anyone on here, I called out Hillary’s failures. Learn to debate with class.

    • Frey says:

Both parties have hot headed supporters. You’re not a special snowflake exempt from that. If it hurts that bad, don’t internet. It won’t get any better.

    • The Other Katherine says:

Well, Curtis, when someone spews Putin-bot talking points and engages in deliberately twisting other commenters’ statements in order to provoke further discussion of said talking points and give them air time, I’m gonna call it like I see it.

    • kri says:

@Curtis-I’m not going to attack you, but I will say..surely you must see that it’s over for Trump. I am by no means a fan of Hillary-at all. I have always thought she and Bill were not good people (my opinion) They are extremely bright, cunning and politically savvy though. Those are facts. Trump caught onto an idea that I think all of us want in a way. The very essence of a Real Person, just like us, in the White House. Someone who struggled, who busted their ass at a job-maybe a couple. Someone who raised a family, who had to put their kids in daycare, scrape pennies to pay bills. Someone who succeeded in the face of adversity, and still maintained their core humanity. Trump is NOT that person. He can barely control himself, and the wheels are coming off.I do not want Hillary, but I definitely do not want a histrionic blowhard who doesn’t understand the first thing about how international politics work versus how they look. There is so much more to this than him saying “titties”. IDGAF about that-he is not the person we need. I am now in the process of looking at other parties/candidates and thinking of getting them into local and state positions with my vote and my support. I do want change. I do want that candidate that cares about US, all of us. He is not it. If anyone else feels the same way, I respectfully suggest looking at other parties and working to make them viable. Peace and love to you all.

      • isabelle says:

Please, please don’t fall into the trap that its all over for Trump. ITs still possible for him to be elected if people are lazy and apathetic on election day. That false belief will make people stay at home and still say many will vote for Trump. Believe many will say they’re voting for Hillary because they will to ashamed to admit it out loud. I’m going into this believing Hillary is 10 points behind because a Trump Presidency should not for one second be underestimated.

    • The Eternal Side-Eye says:

You thought “asked John K to be his vp” meant John Kerry.

There’s not much for a debate with someone who can’t even get that basic thing right. Based on the intelligence of the posters here you DON’T want to debate them, someone will cut you up and down with facts and leave you with your feelings personally hurt.

  20. Frey says:

Historic lows? THERE IS A GOD!!!!

  21. Curtis says:

Say what you will about him being done, but I guarantee you that telling the people of the USA that Hillary has already won, will only help Trump in the long run. Excuse me for thinking you meant John Kerry. I saw John K. It’s a simple mistake. I can assure you though, Trump is not done. His pole numbers may have taken a dive, but you shouldn’t count him out yet.

    • Zut alors! says:

Trump on the pole is an image I can live without. Maybe that’s why his numbers are taking a nosedive .

      • Who ARE these people? says:

Now Melania on a pole … that has probably taken place, the question is on what visa?

  22. Curtis says:

And by the way, I am a special black snowflake. I don’t expect to be treated with kid gloves, but I also think that I can support your right to vote for Hillary and it should go both ways-without hate speech.

    • isabelle says:

“I am a special black snowflake”. We know this Curtis you keep reminding us in most of your posts *sigh*.

    • notasugarhere says:

If there had been any hate speech directed at anyone, CB would have removed the posts.

    • teebee says:

CURTIS, Starting today, right now, your country needs to embrace its entire citizenry, at all levels, meaning economic, intellectual, spiritual, ethnic, to begin healing the wounds of inequality and separation that makes this election so contentious. It means coming together, not building walls, breaking alliances, propagating racist or sexist rhetoric. Clinton, as a potential leader of the US for today and tomorrow wants to move toward that vision of coming together. Trump, through his speeches, has demonstrated no willingness or indication of cohesion, global relationship building. He wants to turn the US into a global bully, a “show us the money” type of power, conditional and greedy. So, I challenge you. Show us here, for Trump, a set of accomplishments, successes, anything that is on par with HRC’s career. Don’t rely on or reference hearsay, personal attacks, or even their known major failures (Trump: bankruptcy and lawsuits/ HRC: the emails, Benghazi for example). No, go refer to that list posted earlier that had Clinton’s life of achievement and build us one for Trump. Then, maybe people will listen instead of attack. That will be a level playing field. Right now each candidate is saying things without having to prove that they can do what they say once in office. THAT is where history, past achievements are VERY important. I believe, though I know she is FAR from perfect, that HRC has the background, the experience and the drive and will to make as much of her campaign promises come to fruition as possible. How do you think Trump will do the same? What has he accomplished that makes you so CERTAIN that he is the better candidate? Really, don’t attack HRC to build your case. BUILD UP Trump, show us the facts, the proof, the RECEIPTS, that make you so convinced of Trump’s suitability to carry out his campaign promises? Maybe everyone will learn something in the process. This site has very intelligent, but passionate readers. Sometimes we revert to some namecalling, some childish behaviour (certainly NOT HATE SPEECH), but often it is predicated by a passionate and mostly well informed belief in personal values. I hope that if you really want to continue this conversation in this thread, you will take up this challenge. I am very interested in what you have to say.

  23. B n A fn says:

Donald Trump just put out a hit on Hillary Clinton telling the people at his rally, “2nd amendment people should stop Hillary”. The man has lost his mind. He’s a danger to this country.

    • Tate says:

OMG… I just read about that. He is so very dangerous. This is unreal.

    • Jwoolman says:

His people are trying to claim he was just joking or talking about using votes to stop her. Even the guy at CNN saw through that – he pointed out that Trump was clearly painting the scenario of Hillary already having won the election and then nominating Supreme Court justices. He said when that happens, there’s nothing you can do. Then in the next breath, “Second Amendment, people…” (parsing it that way with the comma makes the most sense) which is code here for bring your guns to the party. People sitting behind him looked visibly disturbed, so they knew exactly what he was saying – get rid of Hillary or the justices by shooting them. Just takes one nutter with a gun to take him up on it.

And you never joke about assassination in a country that has seen both Presidents and Presidential candidates killed by shooters within the lifetime of people my age and where judges continue to be shot at. Trump should try yelling “bomb!” in an airport some time. Hope his Secret Service agents had a serious chat with him.

    • Rayya Kirt says:

Funny you say this. My son had a project recently on ww2. Google Hitler and see how often TRUMP comes up as being his incarnate. It’s mind blowing. Both dangerous in many similar ways.
