I am pro-choice in every sense. I think it’s up to individuals to decide when and how they start their families, how many children they want, what kind of birth control to use and everything else. That means I have to accept the extremes in every situation as simply the consequence of personal choice too. So while I have judgments and shade for people who choose to father 15 children, at the end of the day… it’s a personal choice that everyone has to make for themselves. So… rapper DMX has just welcomed his 15th child. DMX is 45 years old.
DMX has a challenge most parents would find daunting … remembering the names of all of his kids, which now number 15. The baker’s dozen plus 2 was born Friday in NYC … weighing in at 6 lbs, 10 oz.
His name — Exodus Simmons. The mom is X’s longtime GF, Desiree. It’s her first child.
The rapper missed the delivery — he was in Arizona when Exodus popped out. But he flew to NYC for the baby’s first night in the world. X tells us he’s overjoyed, calling the baby a “blessing.” Lots of blessings.
At some point, wouldn’t most men think, “You know what? Vasectomy.” When you get to the seventh or eighth kid, that’s when a vasectomy should be part of a conversation, perhaps. And I think when you get up to, like, Duggar numbers, it’s not cute anymore. But that being said… this is his girlfriend’s first child. She wanted a baby so that’s what happened. Maybe that’s the way it was for several of his baby-mamas. Either that or DMX just has some unconventional ideas about parenthood and baby-making.

Never mind; I knew DMX before he made it as a rapper and he was getting it when he was in and out of jail.

Iirc, six are with his ex wife who he was with for over two decades. The rest were mostly affairs. That woman was something else. She unofficially managed him from his teens, hiding his bipolar disorder and drug abuse from the labels and promoters. In the meantime, he didnt just cheat on her and impregnate random groupies, he beat her for confronting him about it. Still, she took in his kids from random women because she realised both DMX and the women were useless parents. He of course did not pay child support and she had to report him several times. Last I heard she was doing the reality show circuit to pay her bills.
His ex wife must be a saint. I honestly don’t think I could take in children conceived by my husband cheating on me. I would like to think I was a better person… But that would be a tough pill to swallow.

I don’t think he qualifies as “Dugger-level” considering he has fathered these children with multiple women. The Dugger-level people have one woman who births all those babies.
He is Duggar level. He fathered 15 children. The child’s mother is not Duggar level. She had one child.
Dugger type men only have one woman they procreate with.
This actually even makes him even worse than “Dugger-level” worth in my eyes. There is no reason whatsoever than anyone should be procreating 15 times in their lifetime unless they have major self-worth issues. This in NO WAY makes you more of a man. Have you ever hear of global warming? Can you give each child the love and attention they need? He’s so unworthy of being a father, let alone a man.

How does he support any of them? The last time I saw DMX was on one of those drug or relationship rehab shows VH1 spits out all the time. He hasn’t had a hit since what – 1995?

He does own the publishing to most of his raps and he was in a lot of big action movies at the time, if he wasnt such an idiot he would be a comfortable millionaire now.

RE: Most men would think vasectomy >>> I think there’s still this fear of the vasectomy, not only from the procedure itself, but finding it emasculating. Then, there’s also the overall (heteronormative) cultural notion that reproductive and sexual responsibility is on the part of the woman. This is why getting tubes tied is the norm. Or, the issue that unless a girl asks the guy to wear protection, he won’t. Getting the tubes tied is far easier due to it being done after birth, so that accounts for prevalence to a certain extent. However, I also think it’s this notion that women should shut down their factory, while men get to be “men”.

I agree with what you wrote also but I was one of the women who got their tubes tied after the birth of my 3rd child. I knew I didn’t want anymore children (we couldn’t afford anymore) and as easy it was for me to get pregnant I wasn’t taking any chances. My ex wouldn’t have the vasectomy so I felt it best to do this because it was my body and my choice.
I think it has a lot to do with the idea that the person who wants to stop should be the one to undergo the process. I think the woman tends to be the one, in most cases, to say, “we’re done.” Largely because the reproductive burden falls mostly on her, so she has a more vested interest in saying “no more.” I think there is a strong idea that if she wants to be done, then she should do what’s necessary for that. The men I know who’ve had vasectomies are generally men who 1.) knew early on that they did not want children or 2.) for whatever reason, decided they were done at some point. Very few do it at the request of a woman. Very, very few.
For my parents, my mom did it because, as she said, “Your father was open to more, I wasn’t, so it was only fair that I be the one to do it.”

Of course it’s his choice and the Duggars too… But when you have more children than you personally can handle, I think there is something wrong with you… And you should probably evaluate your purpose in bringing all these children into the world. And I also just think “gross”. I don’t know why. I just don’t think people should have children like dogs have puppies. And this is from someone that is very much pro-life.

I actually have more regard for the Duggars. At least Jim Bob made all his kids with one woman and they all lived together as a family. So at least he was around them each day – even if they weren’t getting his direct attention. With multiple different mothers, there’s no way these kids can see their day every day – or probably even every week! That makes me feel bad for them. I don’t think super-huge families are great, either, but this feels somehow even worse than the Duggars.
I agree Mrs Pitt. There’s lots of large families in my family (13+ kids) and you know what? You ask my Auntie’s and Uncles…and they agree no one should have that many. They don’t regret their siblings, but they agree it’s too many kids.
As no matter the situation, you just CANNOT give double digit kids adequate love and attention even if you’re rich. You just can’t. So they all end up lacking in parental attention and lacking in supervision (since you also can’t watch that many kids either). Siblings end up watching siblings but siblings can’t parent like a parent. It’s really sad. Why not have half as many but actually spend time getting to know each one? Supporting each one.

He did not have his 15 children with his wife/longterm-girlfriend(s) alone. He fathered a couple of kids with affairs. As far as I understand it, he even denied being the father of some kids and it took DNA tests to prove him wrong. That is not a different way of parenting or baby-making. It is irresponsible.

Numbers aside, DMX has a really long, really colorful history with mental illness, drug abuse, violence, etc. Is he really the type of guy you want to mingle your DNA with and make a baby? I say this as a mentally ill person myself, but somebody who is responsible with treatment is a far cry from somebody who seems to have little interest in actually taking care of themselves. It feels like asking for trouble.
The term in the Caribbean for him is Village Ram, which is a man that is known for his sexual conquests and usually fathers several children with multiple women. For some reason the women always know who the ram is but procreate with the disgusting fool anyway.
I’m really trying to find his appeal but all I keep coming back to is money but that is doubtful as he hasn’t had a hit song since the 90’s and he’s had enough legal problems for an entire season of Law & Order. Why are women so daft?

Is he even financially or emotionally capable of taking care of this many kids? That is sick and irresponsible on his part. The women he is having kids with are also insane. This man had such a good career and he ruined it years ago. I feel bad for those kids.

I remember him saying something incredibly homophobic a few years back (or maybe that was Ja Rule?)… Either way, I find it really rich that he’s willing to be a bigoted, sanctimonious douche about gays when he’s got 16 children, probably by 16 different women.
