One year ago, Tom Brady and Gisele Bundchen seemed like they were in trouble. Tom had been on the plane with Ben Affleck and the nanny, and the nanny had been photographed wearing Brady’s Super Bowl rings. The gossip implications were that Affleck was fooling around, so maybe Brady was too. Or Brady was cool with Affleck traveling around with his kids’ nanny (and no kids). Whatever happened, Tom and Gisele seemed to go through an especially tense period. Even People Mag’s sources said that Gisele was thinking about divorce for a few months. But time passed and Gisele and Tom stuck with it, perhaps united by their completely ridiculous and restrictive diet – they wouldn’t be able to find anyone else but each other willing to keep to that crazy diet 24/7, so they might as well stay together. Skip ahead to this summer: Tom didn’t even go to Brazil for the Rio Olympics, even though Gisele was part of the Opening Ceremony. Some believe that Tom and Gisele’s marriage never really recovered from last year’s shenanigans.
It may take a Hail Mary pass to save Tom Brady and Gisele Bundchen’s marriage, according to a snitch who spent time with the couple at a house party in Bel Air just before the Olympics.
“It’s pretty clear they’re completely bored with each other,” the spy tells Star. “Tom looked a bit exasperated, while Gisele just seemed detached, almost content to let them drift apart, like she’d given up.”
As Star previously reported, Gisele never quite recovered from the reports that her husband not only got too close to Ben Affleck’s nanny, but that Brady also contributed to cheating in the NFL. Explains a pal: “Publicly, Gisele stood by Tom, but privately, the crack are starting to show.”

While this report lacks specificity, it does feel true, doesn’t it? Gisele might be bored. Tom might be annoyed. They were once sexy and fun and aspirational. Now they just get on each other’s nerves. This might be the perfect time to start eating pasta again? Maybe a bowl of ice cream? No? Well, at least they still have their diet. Maybe that’s why they seemed bored/annoyed at the party – their hunger makes them terrible party guests. No chicken wings, no wine, no crackers, no cheese, not even one grape.

I’ve always felt that, even if they’re *arguably* supermodel + super athlete = perfect on paper, HAWT TO DA GAWDS, something just doesn’t do for me.

I do not mean to sound like I am defending Brady, because he has some flaws himself. However, with all of her restrictions, and rules, she seems like a real treat to have as a partner.
He’s objectively handsome, but I don’t necessarily think he oozes what people consider sexy either. Not that there’s anything wrong with that. Not everybody has to ooze sex…
I’m of the opinion that most athletes come across as unsexy once they start talking…
I get the impression the extreme diet is more him than her, he doesn’t eat night shades but she does. I am also guessing it is some sort of health or allergy issue, because for a pro athlete that diet is crazy restrictive. That said, I don’t really like either of them.
Why is their giant child in a stroller?!?!?! I am throwing shade. Yes, I’m judging them as parents.
Also, is the dog leash attached to the stroller? Is that why it looks like either the kid or the dog are about to get trampled? Also, why isn’t Tom helping out, sheesh? So many important questions. At least take the dog leash, Tom, don’t be so clueless.
@Margo: I think that he’s sitting on his sister! If you look closely, you can see a little foot in the stroller. My older son would do this to his little brother. I actually like this photo of them, as it reflects the reality of my life 😉

As a mom of three, I use a stroller that fits all of them less for movement but to corral them, no shade ever:)

I noticed that, too. Obviously the kid has outgrown the stroller. Perhaps it’s too much of a strain on Tom to walk with and/or chase around his younger son, who looks like he must be in pre-school by now.

A dear friend of mine is Brazilian, and she is funny, witty and vivacious. That obviously doesn’t seem like Brady’s personality at all. Not that Gisele is perfect, either.
What attracted them to each other in the beginning may not be what they need for a long term relationship.
I can totally see that. Mind you, I’ve been a Patriots fan forever and have y’all ever seen Tom on the sidelines when he’s pissy? Lawd Jaysus, I wouldn’t want to come home to that. For all we know, Super G (that’s what we call her in Boston haha!) is just as fed up with hearing about the allegedly flaccid footballs and whatnot. I can-NOT imagine it was a pleasant day in that household when he decided to pack it in on fighting that.
They have young kids, a dog, and job stress and they’re annoyed/bored? Shocking. It’s all rainbows and giggles over at the birdixnest. Slackers.
Yeah, I bet they are worried about making next month’s rent, buying food for their dog and taking their kids to school before getting to their 9 to 5 job.
Sorry, I bet they have troubles, everyone does, but money, even though it can’t buy happiness, it does buy an easier life. Their lifestyle cannot be compared with that of a person with a normal paycheck.
I don’t believe the restrictive diet story. I know the chef said it, but I think they use the details of their supposed diet to cover-up her plastic surgery and whatever “supplements” Brady takes.
Of course we look and function this fabulously, see what we eat!

That’s a touchdown and field goal for you! Tom is a cheater in many ways. Gisele is a tough lady to live with but I think she’s tough enough to know when to fold them.
How was Tom supposed to go with Giselle to Brazil when he’s in training camp with the Pats preparing for the upcoming season? He couldn’t be with her. Some of the football players who had wives actually competing and winning medals weren’t in Brazil either. I don’t know about the state of their marriage, but Tom not being with Giselle in Brazil doesn’t demonstrate anything.
Isn’t he suspended for a few games because of Deflate-gate? Seems like he could have made time if he needed to.
Makes it harder to get away. He isn’t allowed any contact with the team for 4 games. Can’t talk football with teammates or coaches. No practice, no game notes, can’t even go to the stadium. Training camp and the preseason are all he has until week 5, he needs to be there.
Seriously, the only Patriot I know of who was in Brazil was Nate Ebner, who was playing rugby for Team USA hehe!
OMG thank you Carolyn. People who think he could just up and leave mandatory training camp clearly don’t know anything about Coach Belichick! Not even The GOAT TB12 can get a pass. If anything having to be away from the team for a solid month (no practice, contact, etc). trainign camp would be even that much more important for when he comes back.

I can’t stand these 2 either. They try to put out the image that they are normal humble people but a lot of what comes out of their mouths sounds arrogant and superior to others, and they have an air of entitlement that is off putting. I esp. dislike Giselle trying to make out like she cares about the environment but yet they own ridiculously huge mansions, ride private jets everywhere, and what has she done to help her birth country. When she paraded at the Olympic ceremony, that showed what is wrong with this world and it’s values.

Burqagate thrilled me to no end, because she claimed she would never have any work done. I guess she has selective memory about her first rhinoplasty, as well.

God forbid Tom eat as Brazilians do, enjoying their cuisine of gluten free cheese bread, faroja, moqueca, Romeo y julieta. @Decca—it is a well known fact here in Boston how ridiculously OVERBOARD Giselle has been with influencing a lot of Tom’s diet choices and lifestyle choices as well. She attempts very hard to be like the GOOP of the WAG group and over does it.
Giselle is worth millions upon millions, not sure that she needs Tom in any way other than she was simply dying to start a family and have children, and was groomed to chose some one extremely high profile who earned the multi-millions to match hers. She is all about the Benjamins and not well received here in New England.
I applaud Brady for his commitment to be a professional, a mentor and leader on the team, regardless of the Deflategate BS. Personally, I was kind of happy in an odd way when the Nanny/Superbowl ring thing broke- showed us publicly that Tom is not just a programmed Robot who never does questionable things.
As far as them divorcing, IMOO, there does seem to be a drifting apart and trouble in paradise, but for HER huge ego—I do not see her desiring to end the union anytime soon for a myriad of reasons.
I think he is bored, but I do believe they both love their children very much and want to be united on that front. They will end up being the Ben/Jenn of the Sports World.
We don’t know that Tom doesn’t do questionable things. He could very well be cheating he just maybe smart about it.
I think he cheats but he’s not stupid enough (like his buddy Affleck) to cheat with the help that he sees every day. It would not shock me in the slightest if he has women stashed in NFL cities and hooks up with them when he’s in town. That said, I doubt Gisele cares as she is all about image. She no doubt got mad when she and Tom got dragged into the nanny drama, but I suspect that was mainly due to her image being threatened, not the possible betrayal.
Yep she sucked the hot right out of him. I would love an examination of their love life v.v. the hairstyles he has haha! He went from rugged and athletic to metro and fussy.
Gisele may have been the one to bring in the health food checf, but Tom Brady is notorious for meticulously taking care of himself to prolong his pro football career. He wouldn’t be out eating pizza and beer if she wasn’t around.
They both remind me of that couple in “Annie Hall,” when Woody approaches them on the street and asks what the secret to there relationship is b/c they look so happy.
The girlfriend says “We’ll I’m completely shallow and empty and have no ideas or anything interesting to say.”

I think they’re okay. But they’re at a tough point in their lives.
I think Gisele imagined their careers simultaneously winding down. Instead she retired but Brady is still going strong. So she’s looking at new life options and career paths while trying to support Brady continuing the same career. It’s an unbalanced situation.
Gisele just has to find her new direction. But they seem to always support each other so I do believe they’ll make it work. Just a new dynamic for them right now. Gisele probably needs more support than Brady is used to offering though, especially this time of year. He has to step up as a husband.

OK this needs to be cleared up and cleared up fast – Tom didn’t go to Brazil because he has mandatory training camp with the Pats. Beginning and end of story. Even for TB camp is mandatory.
I have no comment on their relationship (because who knows) but I’ve always subscribed to the idea that two people who are so intensely perfect looking are the most boring people ever to put in a relationship together. It caters to this weird idea that the “hottest” people must be with the other ‘hottest” people and it always feels lacking in any real sexuality to me at all. Yes, they are both physically beautiful but it’s just so dull and boring. I get so much more excited when I see a cookie cutter gorgeous man with someone who is “hot” in a different kind of way than with a freaking supermodel just as I would rather see a supermodel with a different kind of guy. It’s just so freaking boring.
I tend to agree with you and I actually suspect that these two are hella boring/sanitized behind-the-scenes, which is why people love to make up salacious stories about them. Otherwise, there’s really not much to talk about.

It seems like Giselle has to work extra, extra hard to please him. That would get old, especially since she was so independent before him.
I saw a pick of Giselle in Brazil after the Olympics and I thought it was interesting that she stayed down there w/o Tom or her kids. She looked relaxed and like she was having fun. Then I saw a pic of her heading into the airport in Rio and I was struck by the bummed and tense look on her face. I’m probably off base here but I immediately thought she sure doesn’t look too happy to be heading home. I’m not a fan of either one of them. They deserve each other.
