Are Jennifer Lawrence, 26, and Darren Aronofsky, 47, banging now or what?

wenn22160567

Darren Aronofsky: weirdly asexual director or undercover heartthrob? I always found Aronofsky to be rather strange and not all that sexy, but he managed to marry Rachel Weisz, who I think is one of the most beautiful women in the world. So you know Darren has some magic, somewhere. Of course, Weisz did leave him for Daniel Craig, so maybe not? There were also completely unsubstantiated rumors and blind items about a possible affair between Aronofsky and Natalie Portman during the filming of Black Swan. In any case, Aronofsky might have more game than we think. So would you be surprised if the 47 year old director is dating 26-year-old Jennifer Lawrence? The tabloids had this story back in March, and now the British tabloids are saying it’s for real.

Jennifer Lawrence is secretly dating director Darren Aronofsky, according to reports. The Oscar winner is said to have struck up a romance with the Black Swan auteur after they worked together on a new film project over the summer. Jennifer – who at 26 is 21 years younger than the filmmaker – has been pictured enjoying a low-key lunch with him in recent weeks.

A source tells The Sun: ‘Jennifer and Darren have tried to keep things low-key and under wraps but they are really into each other. Recently Jennifer was working on a gruelling project and she relied on Darren for support and they were in constant contact. It seemed to show they were the real deal.’

Aronofsky is overseeing the actress in a movie about a couple’s life being disrupted by an unwanted quest, alongside Javier Bardem, Michelle Pfeiffer, and Domhnall Gleeson.

[From The Daily Mail]

I think I said in March that I can totally see J-Law going for an older guy for a while, I just don’t know if Darren Aronofsky is the ideal Older Boyfriend, you know? If I’m going to bang a guy who is decades older than me, he better be Clive Owen or Harrison Ford or something. If this is true, I think it’s probably more a relationship of convenience, because J-Law rarely meets interesting, accomplished single guys and Aronofsky was just there. Still… maybe Darren really does have some kind of superior game. Crazy.

  1. RWFan says:

Rachel Weisz and Darren Aronofsky were never married.

  2. Cool Character says:

Poor him. What a downgrade from Rachel.

    • Miss V says:

Really though, anyone would be a downgrade from Rachel. She is a goddess amongst goddesses.

      • original kay says:

        Didn’t she cheat with Craig?

        and he cheated with her?

      • Digital Unicorn (aka Betti) says:

@Original Kay – Aronofsky cheated on Rachel, alledgely, with Natalie Portman during the making of Black Swan. Daniel Craig was still with his ex when he and Rachel got together – as far as I’m aware Rachel had already split with DA.

      • JFresh says:

In terms of looks or talent or…something else? Word on the street is she’s not too nice of a person….

      • ladysussex says:

@Digital Unicorn: So Natalie Portman had an adulterous affair with Aronofsky and fell in love with her husband Millipied on the same film?

      • BTownGirl says:

Agreed!! I saw him on Parts Unknown once (and I totally would with Anthony Bourdain, btw – I’m 35, he’s 60…still would) and I was just like Rachel went for this?! He seemed pleasant enough, but there just didn’t seem to be an excess of personality going on there, you know?

      • FF says:

        @Ladysussex

Probably. I get the impression Portman has far more flings than her manufactured image would suggest, and the Millipeid one just came out because she got knocked up.

I was pretty glad Rachel Weisz left Aronfsky (lol, I always found him shady). Her and Daniel Craig seemed to be both stuck in unfulfilling, long ass engagements. They seem happier now.

    • serena says:

      Seriously! +100

  3. Nicole says:

Because the Sun is totally believable. Jlaw can’t breathe around a guy without people saying she’s seeing them. *rolls eyes*

  4. Locke Lamora says:

How does she rarely meet interesting accomplished guys?
Funny how that came up just as she begins to promote that new movie with Chris Pratt.
She’s the most annoying and overrated actress ever.

    • lannisterforever says:

Okay, you can say a lot about Aronofsky (his looks in particular are nothing special) but he’s very interesting and accomplished. I love all of his movies.

I think this story is BS tho.

      • als says:

I don’t know, people said her and Chris Martin was BS as well.
And it wasn’t. Plus, the type of reporting is similar. No confirmation, just rare sightseeing.

    • serena says:

Exactly! Hoult was and is an accomplished actor and possibly wonderful human being.

    • Saks says:

      Agree!

  5. AbrarAk says:

They both look like an egg.

  6. Allie B. says:

If she can get down with a Weinstein I don’t see how Aronofsky is too far off.

    • Tiny Martian says:

Except that there’s no real evidence that she ever got down with Weinstein, so that doesn’t work.

    • Original T.C. says:

Weinstein sleeps with actresses who don’t have enough talent on their own to make it. He somehow convinces them that he can make them big if they sleep with him. The sleep with him and their career goes nowhere anyway. Same with Brian what’s his name who does X-Men. But he does it to young vulnerable boys who want good roles. The casting coach doesn’t work.

Jennifer Lawrence was already a name before she ever worked with Weinstein so not in his catergory of vulnerable actress looking for a role. Her first movie was with a female director and Weinstein had nothing to do with Hunger Games. It’s mysgonists (usually women who can’t accept that an actress can be attractive and talented), and JLaw haters who are always trying to push the “she had to sleep with Weinstein to have gotten so many roles”.

They never say this about Brady Cooper or many other men who got nominations or awards from a Weinstein film. Since they are men then OBVIOUSLY it’s due to pure merit and talent. LOL

      • Kate says:

        Thank you!

Weinstein has worked with and run award campaigns for Amy Adams, Benedict Cumberbatch, Bradley Cooper, Matt Damon and Ben Affleck, Julia Roberts, Meryl Streep, Russel Crowe, Cate Blanchett, Jake Gyllenhaal, Michael B Jordan, Idris Elba, Colin Firth, Christian Bale, Judi Dench, Christopher Waltz, Kate Winslet and Renee Zellweger. He’s about to start campaigning hard for Nicole Kidman and Dev Patel.

Why does no one ever claim Kate Winslet slept with him to get her Oscar for The Reader, or Amy Adams only got an Oscar campaign for the atrocious Big Eyes because she slept with him. Ben and Matt came out of nowhere with Good Will Hunting and their Oscar win, how about them?

‘She must have slept with Weinstein’ is just something thrown at actresses people don’t like, sometimes even actresses who’ve never worked on any of his films. The dozens of actresses and actors people do like who work with him never come under suspicion, even when they work with him much more often.

      • Otaku Fairy says:

This. Cosign everything you just said.

  7. Bex says:

I never saw it until I watched this 30 minute interview with him about the making of Black Swan and he was so engaged and passionate that I could see why an actress would find that appealing. Still, it might just be nonsense if their evidence is one lunch.

  8. Don't kill me I'm French says:

I remember that X17OnLine posted a video of Aronofsky kissing his girlfriend ( the woman after Weisz) in a party. He looked to be a great kisser

  9. minx says:

Ugh, he does absolutely nothing for me.

  10. ElleBee says:

I find her kind of wooden and same-ish (same acting in every film) as an actress. Just me?

    • Ashley says:

Totally agree. It’s like all I see is her and not the character.

    • Bex says:

I thought she was incredible in Winter’s Bone and very good in all the Hunger Games films too but IMO she’s been miscast quite a bit too, mainly by O’Russell.

    • jbap says:

Same acting as between say Winter’s Bone, SLP and American Hustle? I don’t see that for a second: she plays dramatically different characters in all three of those films. And I also don’t get the idea that she’s ‘wooden’ either – but each to their own, I suppose.

      • Locke Lamora says:

She played different characters, but she doesnt disappear in her roles. It’s always her acting. She was very good in WB and mediocre in everything else l. She’s a decent actress, but nowhere near as good as the hype areound her.

      • GillanK says:

She was much better than ‘mediocre’ in the Hunger Games films, and in Silver Linings and Joy. To my mind, she’s been consistently excellent in playing complex characters, and she inhabits those roles very well. Sure, she gets lot of hype – but there aren’t that many actresses around who could deliver the performances she’s done.

      • Locke Lamora says:

Well, let’s agree to disagree. I think she was very mediocre in HG amd SLP, and even less than that in Joy. She can emote well, but she rarely brings any complexity to her roles.

      • GillanK says:

Let’s see the Aronosky film when it comes out – I suspect that, yet again, she’s rebut the claim she doesn’t do complexity.

    • minx says:

As others have said, she was great in Winter’s Bone, so-so in everything else.

  11. LB says:

I miss Jlaw and Nicholas Hoult.

  12. Ashley says:

She has this weird fixation on older men in real life and on-screen. Most of her love interests are significantly older.

    • ell says:

not really, she was with a guy her age for quite a while.

      • Ashley says:

Nick was just one relationship but if you look at her and Chris Martin and her and Aronofsky. And also the fact that all her male live interests in movies not in the Hunger games the men are also older.

  13. Caitlin Bruce says:

Girl loves to downgrade. Nicholas Hoult seemed the perfect fit. Does Jennifer have daddy issues or is it just a maturity no more no mind games deal since he’s older?

  14. OrigialTessa says:

Potato Potato I guess, because I’ve always found him very attractive. Like a Victorian Christian Bale.

  15. Dorothy#1 says:

    Gross

  16. sun says:

    aim higher girl

  17. Carmen says:

“If I’m going to bang a guy who is decades older than me, he better be Clive Owen or Harrison Ford or something.”

Have you seen Harrison Ford lately? He starting to look like the Crypt Keeper.

  18. jbap says:

Judging by her fling with Martin and her self- proclaimed crush on Larry David, J-Law likes clever and talented older men. Fair play to her, I say. Wouldn’t go near any of them myself, but I find it funny that people here are being so judgmental about her taste – is tgere a law that she is only supposed to go out with high-cheekboned guys in their 20s?

    • QueenB says:

there is no law but women are expected to look for other stuff besides looks and men hate it when women are openly judging them on their looks. its just sad that a young woman isnt making more of her attractivness and pretty much acts like the patriarchy wants her to.
your twenties arent supposed to be about care taking of older guys but to have fun with as many hot guys as possible.

      • GillanK says:

You never know, she might be having plenty of fun with Aronofsky. Older man, more experience, no hang-ups about being less successful than her, hugely talented – she can go younger when she wants to settle down!

      • ell says:

@GillianK, i agree with everything you say, but DA less successful than jlaw… what?

      • GillanK says:

Sorry, didn’t mean to say that Aronofsky is less successful than her. It was guys her own age I was referring to!

      • Trixie says:

You are always so judgmental, QueenB. Not everyone is into banging as many guys as they can. If Jennifer is into older guys, then she can be. You wouldn’t like it if other people judged your sexual habits, so why are you so keen on judging other people’s?

      • JenniferJustice says:

I think it’s quite the opposite – she obviously does not care about looks. She seems to be attracted to the brain inside the man’s head. I kind of praise her for being able to find them attractive based on intellect, talent, etc. rather than how hot they are.

And bare in mind, JLaw is not conventionally beautiful. She is a bit bland IMO – above average I suppose, but not any rare beauty. So far, in the relationships she has been in, she has the better looks – so maybe it’s a security/insecurity issue as well as loving their mind.

      • Locke Lamora says:

Or maybe they are attractive to her? Not everyone has the same taste in men.

    • Jules says:

      @jbap: Agreed.

  19. Bella bella says:

Goodness. I’d take Aronofsky any day. Hasn’t it been proven that a man’s brain is what attracts a woman to a man more than physical appearance? A brilliant director is certainly in the compelling category. And I’m guessing he’s good in bed!

    • QueenB says:

“Hasn’t it been proven that a man’s brain is what attracts a woman to a man more than physical appearance? ”

      no, far from it.

      • perplexed says:

I don’t think it’s the brain. I think it’s usually resources (well, before women became independent). And brainy people are probably better at acquiring resources.

    • Ann says:

No, a man’s “brain” is not what “attracts” women to them. Most women find young in shape men to be the most sexually appealing if they are being honest. Women are socially conditioned to find famous, rich men “attractive”. Also, 47 year old men aren’t great in bed, they have potency issues most of them.

      • Annetommy says:

Nothing dishonest about it: even when I was young I wasn’t attracted to generic hunks. Intelligence every time. And most 47 years olds are perfectly able to get the party started and keep the fun going. Around 5% of 40 year olds have erectile dysfunction.

      • Sasha says:

I definitely prefer nerds. I can’t stand pretty boys.
On the subject of intelligence, I think it is usually intelligence + power. At this point in human history intelligence is more likely to lead to acquiring power than a pretty face and a nice body.

      • thatbad says:

Here’s the funny thing. I preferred nerds/intellectuals when younger. Hot looks were less interesting to me. Now that I’m aging? Physical fitness, appearance, vitality is super-attractive to me. Maybe a case of wanting what I don’t have, as I lose my physical appearance, others’ youth and physical appearance is mesmerizing; intelligence (and the associated ability to gain resources/power) was desirable when I was younger/insecure about my intellect and about my ability to acquire resources.

      • Huckle says:

wth are you talking about? potency issues? ive never met a 47 year old man with potency issues. your comment is ridiculous!!

    • JenniferJustice says:

There is a saying, “A man learns to love the women he is attracted to. Women learn to be attracted to the men they love.” Don’t know if I believe that overall, but I do see it sometimes.

  20. DavidBowie says:

    Next up for JLaw…Sean Penn?

  21. ell says:

‘If I’m going to bang a guy who is decades older than me, he better be Clive Owen or Harrison Ford or something.’

but that’s just for looks, when it comes to actors the truth is that many are not that interesting, or certainly not as interesting as writers and directors. so i get why she chose a director rather than an actor.

that said, jlaw has horrible taste in men, her 2 known boyfriends seemed soooo boring. DA is better on that front, but meh.

  22. reg says:

Doesn’t surprise me, she did that ugly Weinstien guy when she was starting out.

    • Jules says:

@reg: Except that there’s no proof of that so just stop.

Successful, talented women have had to deal with bullshit like that since the dawn of time. For Christ sakes, just stop.

  23. Geekychick says:

If it’s true, and it has been brought by her acting in his movie, then I completely believe he cheated on Weisz with Portman.
I don’t like JLaw and I find her taste in men, except Hoult, atrocius.

    • Jules says:

I say good for Lawrence if true…Aronofsky is talented, intelligent and accomplished and doesn’t seem to be the type of man to become intimidated around successful women…like Nick Hoult was.

I like Jennifer Lawrence because she is a talented actress, stays under the radar and does her own thing. I don’t care for Nick Hoult…he’s an insecure bore who treated Lawrence badly.

  24. DiamondRottweiler says:

I can see this. Many actresses, independent of their natural intelligence, feel especially vulnerable when it comes to their intellect, given that many of them, like JL, never finish any kind of more formal education. And there’s a long history of beautiful women seeking out “intellectual” and “sophisticated” men to be their lover/mentor, right? Marilyn Monroe and Arthur Miller being the most obvious example. JL is just a girl from small town Kentucky, and still very young. I have nothing but my spidey sense to defend this position, but I hope this story isn’t true. I met DA once, spent the day around him, and he rang a bunch of alarms for me. Maybe it’s simply because of what he puts the female characters through in his films. They’re pretty retrograde in their portrayal of women, despite how much the academic crowd fanboys his work. His female characters are often “crazy,” frequently humiliated on screen, strippers-with-a-heart-of-gold, etc. Black Swan alone is a feminist nightmare. But because DA’s from the Ivy League, and working an “intro to critical theory” approach in his movies–like, maybe he read a little Freud as an undergrad–they think he’s super deep. Ahhh, youth. She’ll figure it out eventually. I hope.

  25. Nicole says:

I’ll take Aronofsky! He is so passionate and talented.

  26. QQ says:

Hmm Look at this nascent Whiff of an Old F*ckboy, So unlike Sean Penn who trolls the charity circuit for Young Semi famous is all about The ladies that he “directs” with Darren?? Parah pah pah pah I’m getting Old (sungto the Tune of the McDonalds Jingle)

  27. perplexed says:

I want to know what Natalie Portman thinks. Just kidding – sort of.

If he could Weisz and Portman, I don’t think it’s out of the realm of possibility he could get Lawrence. I mean, he’s not as ugly as Sean Penn or anything and he gets tons of beautiful women.

  28. Div says:

JLaw having lunch with him means nothing imo. Actors meet up with directors to discuss potential or current projects all the time. My guess is the tabloids wanted to write something on her and this was all they could come up with because she is so low key.

However, considering the rumors about Darren having so much game I suppose there is possibility he intrigued JLaw.

  29. Rihannaisqueen says:

He is the real father of Nathalie Portmans baby. He cheated with on her with NP that’s why they broke up.

    • hannah89 says:

      this. this. this.

    • mayamae says:

Oh God, can this please die? This is the same mindset that’s awaiting Marion’s baby, and will talk for the next ten years of its resemblance to Pitt’s children.

      • Otaku Fairy says:

Yeah. That’s going to suck for their family. Marion already has blue eyes. All that baby has to do is be born blond and people will be saying it’s Brad Pitt’s kid for years.

  30. moon says:

That sheer top with christian dior label bra straps sticking out is just tacky. And is it me or has she been dating inappropriately aged men with shady romantic pasts ever since she and Nicholas Hoult broke up? First Chris Martin, now Darren Aronofsky.

  31. Leah says:

I went through a period of loving his films and developing this weird crush on him despite the fact that i don’t find him very attractive.
To be honest i would rather have an older man like him or Paul Thomas Anderson with some substance than your ageing pretty boys ( Pitt, Depp etc).

  32. Sarah says:

Ew. Just ew. If my 25 year old son wanted to date a 46 year old woman, I would be concerned that neither was emotionally healthy. I feel the same about this. Yeech.

    • JenniferJustice says:

I agree. There are deep-seeded issues at hand. It’s not the fairy tale “why not? They’re in love” thing that so many people seem to think. But it’s their life – not my business. I only really take issue when children are born into these relationships. So long as it’s only the two of them, they can only hurt themselves.

  33. Otaku Fairy says:

The so-called ‘trauma/scarring’ that’s supposed to come with an adult consenting to sex/a relationship with an older adult usually feels blown a little out of proportion., even though personally the idea of being with someone almost my parents’ age (especially as an actual couple) is not my cup of tea. People can cheat, manipulate, clash, have grating personality flaws, or walk out at any age. That doesn’t mean people shouldn’t have the experience. Relationships aren’t risk-free.

  34. aniya says:

With this fagglepants?ewww, blegh, no way!

  35. mridha says:

Who is this baldy egg and why this beautiful young girls’s name is being associated with him? o.O
